Tearable Techno Radio

Tearable Techno

Hi Guys, Tearable Techno Radio. In the next few weeks I will be uploading ten episodes where you will, hopefully hear me progress. Because that’s what this is all about. A short backstory: Just-in-Case introduced me to Techno about two years ago. After a mindblowing event at Paradigm Groningen, he gave me a Hercules MK4 to play around with. A couple of months of heavily relying on the Synch button followed. It was cool to learn to DJ, but I felt I missed a connection with the music. So I decided to learn to beatmatch and found some beat-up CDJ800 MK2 for 50 euros. I fixed them up and started playing. Since then, I’ve been messing around, but never felt like I really progressed as a DJ. After watching way too many AVGN and JonTron videos and listening to Slam! Radio I decided it’s okay to show that you are actually crap a first. Rome ne s’est pas faite en un jour. Every episode I will highlight the changes we made and post where I got the inspiration from. So if you feel like showcasing your sets as well, tag along. For the rest. Just enjoy and comments are highly appreciated! Bornepants

Tearable Techno Radio Episode #2 Hi Guys, It's been a lot of fun trying to improve since the first episode which was a mess if you look at all the different styles mixed together. A quick search landed me on the following dutch page: http://www.techno-muziek.nl/dj-tips-en-dj-lessen/146-dj-tip-10-een-goede-techno-mix-opbouwen.html I took some time, but I organized all my music into a coded system. Every track has a specific code with style of music, energy level and key. For example when I feel that a track has a drumcode thing going and is very high on energy in key E-major it will receive the code DCM12B. I also played around with many setups for recording. Eventually I decided to go with my friends advice and use the old Hercules MK4 since it has an okay soundcard. The output is low. But more on the setup next time around. Have fun listening and remember. It's Tearable Techno, because we are learning. Bare with us :)

Hi Guys, The first episode and a benchmark for Tearable Techno Radio. In the next few weeks I will be uploading ten episodes where you will, hopefully hear me progress. Because that’s what this is all about. Just-in-Case introduced me to Techno about two years ago. After a mindblowing event at Paradigm Groningen, he gave me a Hercules MK4 to play around with. A couple of months of heavily relying on the Synch button followed. It was cool to learn to DJ, but I felt I missed a connection with the music. So I decided to learn to beatmatch. I found some beat-up CDJ800 MK2 on the internet, fixed them up and started playing. The setup we were using was worth only 80 euro’s. Since then, I’ve been messing around and gathering an amplifier, speakers, headset, cables. The setup improved with the help of friends and family. But I never felt like I really progressed as a DJ just playing for myself at home. After watching way too many AVGN and JonTron videos and listening to Slam! Radio I decided it’s okay to show that you are actually crap a first. As long as you enjoy yourself. With a bit of luck and dedication I just might learn to DJ better along the way. Alive came the idea of Tearable Techno Radio! Rome ne s’est pas faite en un jour. Every episode I will highlight the changes we made and post where I got the inspiration from. So if you feel like showcasing your sets as well, tag along. For the rest. Just enjoy and comments are highly appreciated! Tearable Techno Radio
