The whole attempt must be made on sand - either on a beach or sand desert zone
Spencer may choose to run barefoot or with shoes and may alternate throughout the attempt
The entire course must consist of only sand. For instance, a layer of sand over a field of grass would not qualify
All marathon runs must be finished within 6 hours to be eligible.

On the side of his day job, he started making TikTok videos together with his brother Isa, to show people what having a vision impairment is like, and has since become an inspiration online.
The RunPod RunClub wants to wish Yahya the best of luck with the Marathon - he's going to kill it!

- 351 - Ruari Fairbairns
How does Alcohol affect your running? Here to tell us how is co-founder of One Year No Beer, Podcaster and Author of the Best Seller '28 Day Alcohol Free Challenge' - Ruari Fairbairns.
Ruari is a former oil broker, who listened to the whisper in his mind that said the amount of alcohol he was consuming was holding him back.
In the UK many people still find it difficult to cut back on drinks because of the social aspect. We still live in a society that says "Alcohol is amazing!" "It's so much fun!" "Come to the pub!" despite us knowing the damaging effects on our health.
The reality is, alcohol makes us feel anxious, tired and sluggish and stops us from being the optimal versions of ourselves.
Ruari has the occasional glass, so he's not here to preach "never drink again", but he will leave you with things to think about...especially when it comes to feeling good enough to go for a run.

- 335 - John McAvoy
Today’s guest John McAvoy is a Nike Athlete and a motivational speaker who inspires young people to live a good, and honest life. However, John’s story is probably unlike anything you’ve heard before…
When John was young, he grew up in an environment of organised crime, leading to a life of armed robbery, and 10 years behind bars at a high-security prison.
His “role models” back in the day, led him to believe being behind bars was “just a way of life”. Everything was about money, the acquisition of wealth and disobeying authority. They told him that if he went to prison and started behaving, then the system had got him.
However, whilst in his cell John decided he wanted to feel like a proper human being so he decided to spend his days educating himself by reading books from the prison librarian, and started exercising one push-up at a time…
John’s new exercise regime led him to break both British and World records whilst in prison, and in turn he's found redemption through the power of sport.
He now lives in the Alps and has forged a life as an endurance athlete and speaker who is committed to using his story of rehabilitation to help and inspire others to change their lives for the better.
In his own words, John feels completely detached from who he was in the past, and that is in itself, is a very moving story.
"The important thing is not what one is born with but what use one makes of that equipment" - Adler

Wed, 13 Sep 2023 - 07min - 312 - Laura Henshaw and Steph Claire Smith
Trigger Warning: This Episode has discussion about Eating Disorders
Jenni is delighted to be joined by Australian Wellness Influencers - Laura Henshaw and Steph Claire Smith.
Laura and Steph have a joint following of 2.5million followers, and are co-founders of the leading holistic health and wellness app, Kic (scroll for a promo code)!
The ladies met while working as models during Melbourne Fashion Week in 2013, and instantly bonded over the physical and mental struggles they faced with body image, triggered by the modelling industry. One thing is for sure, you don't have to be a model, male or female to feel this struggle...
This ignited a desire to start a movement that would help others build body confidence in a way that works best for them, putting a stop to harmful mentalities and toxic trends disguised as ‘wellness’.
Kic has grown into an empowering holistic wellness community and offers loads of workouts (Hello KICRUN! 5-10k Programme), recipes and meditations, from a hand-picked team of trainers and health experts.
In KICRUN, Laura guides you every step of the way via positive audio - whether you're new to running, or want to improve your time! It's genius.
They're currently in the UK meeting fans, and doing community events – including a run club on the 14th of September at Hyde Park in London, so you should definitely go and see them if you can. Atleast go, and thank them for bringing over this hot weather from Australia!
You can get a one-month free subscription to Kic, live until the end of the year! Sign up via the Kic website: kicapp.com/uk/, select the monthly subscription and enter the promo code: RUNPOD to redeem a free month of Kic. You can then download the app via the App Store or Google Play and log in.
