Like many college students, she was embracing this new chapter—immersed in learning, exploring, making friends, and dating. However, her life took a tragic turn when she connected with a man on Tinder. After a few dates, Meeka decided not to continue seeing him, but he began stalking her and, on March 6, 2022, brutally murdered her. The case, which became widely known as the "Tinder Murder" in the Netherlands, stands out because unlike many other cases, we know what happened to Meeka, and her killer was apprehended. Katie was cyberstalked after accepting a Facebook friend request from a woman she had never met in person. Initially, their messages were amicable, but they soon dove into personal topics, including emotional and mental struggles. Tension escalated when Katie started receiving messages from the woman’s boyfriend, expressing concerns about their relationship. When Katie advised him to leave if he felt it was toxic, she triggered the woman’s retaliation. This included menacing social media posts, fake reviews on Katie’s business page, and messages sent to her friends. Helena has become the target of a relentless stalker who obtained her social media handle.  Upon connecting online, he inundated her with disturbing messages. She told him to never contact her again and blocked him. Despite her warnings, he created fake accounts, subjecting Helena to harassment, terrorizing her, and issuing threats of violence, including threats to kill her and set her house ablaze. Fearing for her safety, Helena reached out to the police, but the stalking persisted. Cara was targeted and stalked by a man she had encountered on the internet, with their interactions being solely online and over the phone.  After a few conversations, Cara told the man she was no longer interested and blocked him. Frustrated by his inability to reach Cara, the stalker impersonated law enforcement. Through this ruse, he obtained Cara's personal information from her wireless phone service provider.  Armed with this data and her personal information, he continued to harass Cara, as well as her family, coworkers, and friends. He sent them inappropriate photos of her, issued death threats, and even drove across state lines to show up at her house.
