''Itan Ijapa ati Erin'' is a classic Yorùbá folktale that tells of the wisdom of the crafy tortoise in the defeat of the greedy elephant. This tale teaches the virtue of humilty and is a great listen for kids, teens, and adults. Narrated by One Yoruba Girl in melodic Yorùbá language.

I debated adding a soundtrack to this episode because I wasn't ready to show you this part of me. I didn't feel it was great because I have never delivered a whole piece in Yorùbá. But I know better. I promised to show you all of me, and this is also a part of me. This part of me struggles to connect with her culture in this saturated world she lives in. This part of me desperately seeks for simplicity because the pursuits of this world are too complicated. This part of me wants to be free. This poem talks about the insignificance of life; how humans huttle about doing nothing in glorified importance. If you are human, take this as a cue to rest. This was supposed to be published on International Women's Day, but I thought, why? Not when the day after, affairs are back to "As you were". I wrote this piece for you, ọmọlúwàbí. Know that your mothers were not docile or stupid. Know that you did not come from a generation of slaves, you are your mothers' daughter.

While the title of this podcast is "The Yorùbá Lifestyle", expect to listen to some episodes that wouldn't exactly be "Yorùbá-ish". Sometimes I'd just want to tell you how I'm feeling. Other times I'll just want to share an experience with you. However, know that all you will listen to on here are my thoughts, opinions and experiences shaped by my Yorùbá worldview. So, yeah!
