Today it is a day of celebration at Deadass HQ. It is our 1st anniversary! I want to thank all the people who have been able to make this happen. To all the guest who have been on, The other podcasts who have supported us, the Deadass Community and my family. Today is also the 1st episode where we a trialing our online convo's via a streaming service. Please forgive us on the audio quality . We are still working out the kinks. Grant shares how he started as a hearse driver, then studying embalming and starting his own funeral business. Later in his career he joined the Kenyon International Emergency Services where he was deployed to Thailand in 2004 after the devastation of a Tsunami caused the deaths of 230,000 people.

Today I am extremely excited to have Johnny Lane on to share his journey. From growing up on dirt bikes, doing his motorcycle mechanic apprenticeship and performing FMX shows with minibikes on full size ramps. One day, Johnny received a text from Joel Rayner (Former Guest on the show) to ride moto's in a live stunt shows. 2.5 weeks later, Johnny was on a plane to China for an initial 8 month contract which turned into a good part of 10 years! Today on the Deadass Podcast. I have my Uncle - Dale Perry who shares some of his life and career as a Police Officer in the Australian Federal Police. Also being a part of the Special Operations Team (SWAT Equivalent). The 29th of November this year marked 30 years since the Jolimont Centre siege that took place in Canberra ACT resulting in the serious wounding of one person and the death of another over the course of two hours. The centre was set on fire and extensive damage was caused by a lone gunman. Dale was called in as apart of the Special Operations Team. In the following years, Dale moved to Queensland to join the Queensland Police Service and continued in the traffic branch riding the the motorcycles. It was great reflecting on some of the stories I heard around the dinner table growing up as a child! Cheers for tuning in..

Heath feels the need to tell his story and to share his journey of losing his 1st wife to bowel cancer. The journey that was involved with that. The years it took to rebuild his life and start a new relationship. Now, Heath and his wife are going through a repeat situation as she has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer.

Historian and Published Author Phil Hore joins Deadass Podcast for a chat about his career and early life. For the last 20 years Phil has been a museum educator and designed tours for some of the world’s leading institutions, including: The Australian War Memorial, Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, Chicago’s Field Museum, The London Natural History Museum just to name a few. Phil is also an author of books and articles for newspapers and publishers across the world, including the world-renowned Famous Monsters of Filmland Magazine. Stephen Bell shares his journey on how he made a promise to his father and the effort he took to source an old hearse, get it back up and running and ready for his fathers funeral. Today I sit down with Coopar "Rush" Royal who established himself as the Number 1 Bantamweight in Australia with an amateur MMA record of 8-2. Rush also represented Australia at the MMA world championships beginning of last year before transitioning to the Professional Ranks. Coopar has since fought Professional MMA, Muay Thai and Kickboxing. On July 22, 2023 Rush will add another sport to the list! Enjoy!
