PAUSE… Relax your body, One cell at a time. Softening and calming, From the top of your head, Down into your face, Your neck, Your shoulders, Arms, Chest, Belly, Back, Hips, Legs, And feet. Softening, And relaxing, As you sink further into comfort. LONG PAUSE… See if you can locate the emotions, Swirling, Or anchoring, Or floating inside. PAUSE… It doesn’t matter why they’re here, Or what stories they tell. Just identify them, Isolating them, And holding them in place. LONG PAUSE… Now see if you can imagine, Your arms wrapping around these emotions, Embracing each jagged edge, Each soggy tear, Each bursting star. PAUSE… You show them love, Honoring each of them, Silently grateful for each one. PAUSE… Now every time you exhale, Imagine your embrace loosening, And all of your emotions floating free. Slowly, Hovering around you, Slowly drifting away. LONG PAUSE… Each exhale pushes them further away from you, Inch by inch, Mile by mile, Galaxy by galaxy. PAUSE… Breathe them out, Breathe them away, Let the emotions dissolve, They can no longer stay. LONG PAUSE… Feel the liberation and expansion. You are not defined by your emotions, You are the witness of your emotions. You are the calm presence that remains unchanged amidst the ebb and flow of emotions. LONG PAUSE… Your body is calm, Your mind is clear, And you are free. PAUSE… Take a deep breath in, and as you exhale, let go of any tension or worries from the day. Allow your body and mind to gently release any tension, and bring your awareness to the present moment. PAUSE… Now, see if you can recall a recent experience where you felt disappointed. It could be a disappointment in yourself, others, or a situation. Allow yourself to fully acknowledge and feel the disappointment, without judgment or resistance. Notice where you feel it in your body, and gently breathe into that area, allowing it to soften. LONG PAUSE… As you breathe, imagine that with each inhale, you are inhaling soothing and healing energy, and with each exhale, you are releasing disappointment and any related emotions. Breathe in peace, and breathe out disappointment. PAUSE… Now, bring to mind any expectations or attachments that you had in relation to the situation that led to disappointment. Notice if there were any rigid expectations, unrealistic demands, or attachments to outcomes. Without judgment, simply observe them as they arise, and offer yourself compassion for holding onto these expectations. LONG PAUSE… Visualize yourself holding these expectations in your hands, and then gently release them, letting them float away like clouds in the sky. Allow yourself to let go of any need for things to be different, and simply be present with what is, without resistance or grasping. PAUSE… As you continue to breathe, imagine a warm, healing light enveloping you, comforting and nurturing you. Allow this healing light to fill any spaces within you that were occupied by disappointment, soothing and calming those areas with love and acceptance. PAUSE… Now, bring to mind any forgiveness that may be needed. Forgiveness towards yourself or others involved in the situation that led to disappointment. Offer yourself and others forgiveness, knowing that everyone makes mistakes and has their own challenges. Allow forgiveness to flow freely, releasing any lingering resentment or bitterness. LONG PAUSE… Take a few moments to simply rest in this space of letting go, Of surrendering to the present moment, and of cultivating self-compassion and forgiveness. Let go of the past, and be fully present in this moment, knowing that you have the power to release disappointment and create a fresh start. LONG PAUSE… As you prepare to drift off to sleep, allow these words to embrace your heart. I release disappointment and embrace the present moment with love and acceptance. I am worthy of forgiveness and compassion. You are deserving of peace and healing. PAUSE… Now, as you slowly begin to drift into sleep, carry with you a sense of lightness and freedom from disappointment. Release any remaining tension in your body, and surrender to the gentle rhythm of your breath, The gentle rhythm of the night. Full of peace, And love. PAUSE As as you breathe, let the breath you bring in carry peace and relaxation. And let the breath you exhale release tension, stress, and pain. PAUSE Keep letting yourself relax. And as you do, watch as all your distracting thoughts are gathered up and floated away. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, standing before a giant tree, an ancient tree, with boughs round and wide like bass drums, and limbs blossoming with flowers and leaves PAUSE As you stand before the tree, a reverence washes over you, a reverence for all the history that the tree has seen. You want to climb into the tree and learn its secrets. PAUSE Now, visualize if you can, being magically lifted into the tree, and gently placed on a large bough. PAUSE As you take a deep breath, you settle in and relax in the tree. Moments later, the tree’s flowery limbs surround you with peace and a sweet fragrance. PAUSE As you listen for the stories of the tree, a dream-like whisper floats by your ear, and you hear: “I’ve seen you fight. You are strong.” The flowery limbs cradle you lovingly. PAUSE And then a few minutes later, the tree whispers: “I’ve seen you hold for those you love. You are strong.” And again, the flowery leaves cradle you lovingly. PAUSE Now, allow yourself to pause for a moment, and feel yourself floating, Relaxed and calm– floating through a journey through time– Your journey through time. PAUSE After resting, you prepare to climb down, Taking the secrets of the tree with you. But as you do, the tree whispers again: “You fight hard and true. You love hard and whole.” PAUSE As you are gently cascaded to the ground, you turn toward the tree, and uplift your arms, wide and strong, like the tree’s boughs. And as you whisper the words “Thank you,” a gentle breeze carries them into the tree’s branches. Racing around in your mind and pulling you away from this moment. So lay down in your bed and let them melt away, as you anchor yourself in the present moment and allow your body to rest. So let yourself slither around in your bed until you find the sleeping position you love the most. Take a deep breath in when you find it, And then exhale and settle even deeper into your bed. Be here. With the stillness of the night. And allow its cool, calm silence to isolate those thoughts racing through your mind. Those worries, Anxieties, Stresses, Fears. They are the ones in rigorous motion against the backdrop of the stillness. PAUSE… Thoughts. Stories. Emotions. That’s all they are. They are not you. What’s true is this moment. This breath. You. Here on your bed. Alive. Breathing. So allow yourself to separate them from you, All these worries. Inviting them to exit the rapid movement inside your head, And enter the stillness of the night. This moment of presence, Where the worries cannot exist. Watch them dissolve in the space around you, The tiny grains of sand spilling from them until nothing is left. Release the worries into the peaceful presence of the night. LONG PAUSE... Feel the deep relaxation of your body as the worries dissolve. It melts into the arms of the night, Releasing its need to control, Or be ready, Or fight. And instead softens, Trusts, And surrenders. Relax and release. PAUSE… It’s time to sleep. So breathe… In and out, And fall into the depths of the night. LONG PAUSE Now, allow yourself to notice any stress in your body, any area in need of relaxation. Take a moment, and gently breathe into those areas. LONG PAUSE Take another deep breath, and feel the lightness of your body, and the cushiness of your body in your bed. Keep breathing in deep relaxation. LONG PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, faintly hearing the first few notes of a symphony. Two gentle violins serenading you like lilting nightingales. PAUSE The violins play dreamily, their music quietly floating through your room. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, feeling lifted by the music, as if it gently floated under you, and raised you into the air. PAUSE As the violins play, feel your body drifting with their sounds, in, out, and around your room. PAUSE So, imagine now, a flute joins the violins. and the flute is bright and airy in its sound, and brings joy to your soul. PAUSE The flute gently trills, and blending with the violins, pure poetry evolves, as the violins call out, and the flute answers. PAUSE After a few moments, you feel the flute all around you, Sailing in and out through your being, The joy of the flute synchs in you. PAUSE While floating in the air with these beautiful sounds, a new sound calls to you, one with a rich, soft timbre: The French horn. PAUSE The horn adds a buoyancy to your floating– a gentle drifting back and forth, and up and down. Allow its richness to help you feel secure, and balanced, as it effortlessly blends with the flute and violins. PAUSE As you delicately waft through the air, the orchestral sounds envelope you, Filling your soul with joy and wonder. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, that a piano joins the orchestra. The piano flavors the already-beautiful sounds by adding layers of sweet harmonics, PAUSE The notes of the piano, play inside and around you, filling you with self-confidence and positivity. PAUSE Take a deep breath, and let yourself synergize with the orchestra. Allow it to become you, and you it. PAUSE And, as you feel that fluid music all through you, a sense of gratitude for this orchestral odyssey, comes over you. For each instrument brings a gift. PAUSE Breathe in the violin. Its magic gift to you is its dreaminess. Breathe in the flute. Its magic gift to you is its joyfulness. Breathe in the French horn. Its magic gift to you is its balance. Breathe in the piano. Its magic gift to you is its positivity. PAUSE After a few moments, the instruments softly fade into the background, and you are placed gently back in your bed. As you lie there, drifting peacefully to sleep, you know you are an orchestra of life. An orchestra that plays beautifully, every day and night. LONG PAUSE Inhale deeply and fully again, with a breath that gently buries into your muscles, dissolving all the tension in you and turning the muscles soft like creamy butter. LONG PAUSE As you continue to breathe, allow the breath into your neck and shoulders, deliciously dissipating pain and stress there, and replacing it with deep relaxation. LONG PAUSE Now follow the breath as it Curves along your spine, in and out, seeping into the back muscles, easing them, softening them, melting them into velvet. LONG PAUSE When you inhale your next divine breath, feel it clear your arms and legs, of all tension, soothing any stress, so your body feels cushy and open. PAUSE Imagine your body open and weightless, drifting like a feather, dreamy and tranquil, into the peaceful silence of space. PAUSE As you float through infiniteness, you feel a connection to all that’s around, a sense of comfort, of being one, and it lulls you into deeper relaxation. PAUSE Now, imagine the Universe carrying you to a glistening star, a star that reaches her arms of light to you, and cradles you in healing warmth. PAUSE Visualize feeling safe in the star’s arms, Her abundant light healing any pain, and gently warming it away, until you meld with the star and become one. PAUSE Now, you drift in space, dotted with more stars and galaxies lit up like Christmas lights, until you reach the moon and feel her pull. PAUSE The coy moon tugs at you and winks, then shines her healing beams into your heart, freeing pain tucked in hidden corners. PAUSE The moonlight shimmers and pulses in you, it vibrates old scars and recent pains, massages and washes them clean, Then carries them away. PAUSE Now imagine floating farther into the cosmos, like an ethereal vapor. The silence mends your stress, and you embrace the profound rest and infinite peace. PAUSE Time is an illusion to the universe, and you glide from one heavenly body to another, becoming more free of pain, hurt and anxiety. PAUSE Now, take a minute and bask in the joy and healing that the heavens have poured into you, deep into the physical and spiritual core. PAUSE And, take one more deep cleansing breath, a breath that draws in the healing stillness of the Universe, healing that melts in and all around you healing that you gratefully surrender to. PAUSE Now, embrace your surrender, your openness that leads to gifts, and enjoy the blessing of sleep, the blessing of healing, of your physical, emotional, and spiritual being. The movies play within your head, And pull you away from rest. The scary scenes expand and meander and grow, And soon, your eyes are open, Your heart is racing, And sleep has escaped from your body. PAUSE… But slow down, dear one, And know the fears will dissolve, The anxiety will disappear, As you bring yourself out of your head, And into this moment. Present to what is, And open to the comforting arms of deep sleep. So breathe deeply, Fully into your body, And ask the universe to hold you, To protect you and the ones you love, As you surrender into her embrace. PAUSE… Let your attention settle into your breathing. Aware of the cool air on your nose as you breathe in, And the warm air on your nose as you breathe out. In and out, Over and over again. Slowing down a little bit more with every breath. PAUSE… Become aware of what’s around you. Listen to the soft noises of the night. See the objects and people in your space. Feel the blankets touching your body. PAUSE… Bring yourself here, Into this moment. Breathing in calm, Breathing out the fear. LONG PAUSE… You are safe here. Those around you are safe. LONG PAUSE Imagine pushing the pause button, and holding precious this time of rest and peace. Stay with it. LONG PAUSE And while holding onto to this precious rest and peace, imagine a magical portal opening before you. PAUSE As you gaze at the portal, you realize it’s beckoning you to come into it, to take a journey. And with absolute comfort and security, you venture forth into the portal. PAUSE While in the portal, beautiful colored lights illuminate all around you. Reds and Pinks, Greens and Yellows, Blues and Purples, all twinkle like stars on each side of you. PAUSE After a few moments, the lights clear, and you find yourself in an art room with crayons and pictures to color. PAUSE Without a thought, you pick up a crayon and begin coloring an image of a mandala. With each gentle stroke, a wave of peace and relaxation washes over you. And with it comes a sense of connectedness to something bigger. PAUSE After a few moments, the mandala rises into the air and begins spinning. All the magical colors spill into the air, spreading deeper peace and relaxation everywhere. Seconds later, you find yourself back in the portal. PAUSE The beautiful lights sparkle again, and then fade as you find yourself in a room lit with candles. PAUSE You land gently in a chair, and begin gazing into the soft, gauzy flicker of a large white candle. With each breath, a calm and connectedness to Spirit come over you. You are part of the Infinite. PAUSE As you bask in the infinite peace, you feel yourself going on and on and on in total calm and comfort, total relaxation. PAUSE Slowly, the lights of the portal return, and you feel yourself gently being moved to somewhere else. PAUSE Moments later, you’re standing on a beach at midnight, with a stunning blue moon hanging low in the sky, and waves that wash against the shore, in a hypnotic rhythm. Millions of stars twinkle above you. PAUSE And now, you feel yourself a part of everything. You feel the sea in you, and you in the sea. You feel the moonlight in you, and you in the moonlight. You feel the stars in you, and you in the stars. Everything is a part of you. You are part of everything. It’s a multi-dimensional feeling of peace and wonder. PAUSE The twinkling lights of the portal return, and this time, the portal takes you home to your bed, with a steaming cup of tea and a fluffy pillow behind you. PAUSE As you sit sipping tea, you look around, and nothing is the same. Nothing is separate from you. It is all connected energy. And, as you finish your tea, and sink deep into your bed, there is only peace in and around you. A calm, relaxing peace that you carry everywhere. LONG PAUSE If a distracting thought finds its way into your consciousness, imagine a gentle breeze carrying it away. LONG PAUSE Keep breathing, and relaxing. breathing, and relaxing. Let that rhythm become part of you. LONG PAUSE Imagine now, a beautiful white horse with wings standing gracefully by your bedside. PAUSE You can feel the creature’s warm breath on your face. PAUSE Instinctively, you lift yourself from your bed, and climb on the back of the horse. His name is Pegasus. PAUSE Pegasus glides through a window, out into the starlit night, climbing high into the midnight blue clouds. PAUSE Together you ascend so high, you can reach out and touch a star. The star is tiny and warm like a cookie fresh from the oven. And, after a minute, it wriggles in your hand, and flies back into the sky. You know now you’re in a land of magic. PAUSE Pegasus descends slowly to the ground. And, as he does, you see dozens of dwarves tilling the land, firing and hammering metal like blacksmiths,, and setting out fresh food on small picnic tables. PAUSE One of the dwarves sees Pegasus and nudges for another dwarf. The second dwarf with a red beard walks over to Pegasus. Both creatures bow to one another. PAUSE The red-bearded dwarf goes to the table of food and takes a wrapped loaf of bread and some dried meat and bring it to you. PAUSE The bread is steaming hot and smells slightly sweet and savory. The meat is small like bacon, but much sweeter to the taste. PAUSE Imagine now, thanking the dwarf, who simply nods his head at you. Pegasus and the dwarf bow again to one another before you and the winged creature takes to the sky again. PAUSE Moments later, a man’s head pops through the clouds. The giant smiles as you and Pegasus approach. PAUSE Pegasus descends, but not all the way to the ground– just low enough to see a giant family’s feast. PAUSE Two young giant boys playing with life-size trains, spy you and Pegasus and wave. You naturally wave back. PAUSE Your visit is short, and Pegasus again lifts to the air. But only for a moment. In just seconds, you both are on the ground facing another beautiful white creature: A unicorn. PAUSE The unicorn and Pegasus whinny, clearly understanding one another. The unicorn rises up on its hind legs and then comes close to you. PAUSE You reach out and touch the creature’s horn and mane and back. They are silky smooth, and as you remove your hand, tiny, iridescent sparkles fall to the ground. PAUSE Moments later, Pegasus ascends into the clouds, soaring swiftly back to your bedroom. In seconds, you’ve landed next to your bed, where you climb off, and sink into your sheets. Magical dreams await, as you gently drift off to sleep. PAUSE… This energy treatment will help soothe your nerves, Release any tension and stress. Breathe with me now. Take a nice long slow deep breath in, And exhale through your mouth and release. PAUSE… I call forth blessings of healing today. I call forth your own spirit, spirit guides, angels, guardians, and masters, To surround you in healing. Feel free to place any special intention in your own mind, And we call this forth for the highest and greatest good. PAUSE… As you begin to settle in deeper and deeper, It may be difficult to let go. Feel the back of your head, Surrender into the surface your lying on, So that you feel completely held and supported. PAUSE… Relax any tension in your upper chest and shoulders, And down your arms, Your throat and neck soften, And your face is completely relaxed. PAUSE… I know you’ve been holding so many thoughts in your mind, That's caused so much stress and anxiety. But in this moment feel at the top of your head, As I place my hands, this beautiful warm healing light. Go within your body and begin to notice, All the many places that are stuck or blocked. And this light will travel to all of them for balance and peace. PAUSE… Explore with me now as you go within your body, And notice any areas that are holding this tension. It may be a feeling, a knowingness, Or perhaps you see it as a gray mist. This Reiki energy pours in from the top of your head, It’s pure white light, this light of healing begins to move throughout your body. The top of your head feels warm and inviting. Your hair and your scalp feel soft and surrendered. I move my hands over your eyes, And the warmth is so powerful the face feels as if the sun is basking down. Your eyes settle in, the skin around the eyes soften, All tension in the face melts. PAUSE… This current of Reiki energy moves to the jaw, the teeth, and the tongue, Relax your mouth and jaw. Those areas of gray mist are slowly disappearing. I place my hands over your throat, Feeling this warm sensation in the throat center, Invoking the purest communication self, Eradicating negative thoughts and thinking, And bringing forth positive thoughts of well being, Shifting those inner thoughts to positivity and love, Gently I move my hands to your heart. Feel yourself take that nice sighing breath. You’re melting more and more, Your shoulders feel light. Let everything else go. Let tension go. Let stress go. Let distracting thoughts go. Watch as they lift away from you like a balloon in the sky. LONG PAUSE Breathe in more relaxation, feeling it spread serenity through all of you. LONG PAUSE Breathe again. Allow your body to let go, to just melt into the bed. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, sitting on the banks of a river, just basking in the Warmth of the sun. taking in the smells of nearby wildflowers, and listening as the water gently rushes past you. PAUSE You feel calm, peaceful, and relaxed. So, you stretch out on the bank, and allow yourself to rest. PAUSE Moments later, you feel the presence of someone near, So you sit up. PAUSE At first, you don’t see anyone. Then, your eyes catch a stately figure, dipping a clay jug into the water. PAUSE It’s a tall, slender woman, with skin like soft silk, And a draped robe of black, and gold, and red. PAUSE The woman kneels along the bank, and as woman dips her jug into the crystal blue water, she does so with delicate care. There is something almost sacred in her movements. They are like rhythmic dances. PAUSE The woman fills the jug to the top, taking care not to spill, and then gingerly stands and lifts the jug to sit on top of her head. PAUSE She balances the jug with her slender hands, and with a beautiful posture, sleek and straight. Then, she walks away. PAUSE Instinctively, you rise and follow her. Running to catch up, you notice that she literally glides across the land. Every step looks like she’s floating. PAUSE The woman stares straight ahead, committed to her mission. She barely notices you at her side. PAUSE As you walk, you imagine the village where the woman will take the water. But she walks in a different direction. PAUSE Soon, you arrive at the meadow, teeming with the wildflowers you smelled by the river. PAUSE The woman removes the jug From her head, And with a wave of hand, The water disperses To all the flowers. PAUSE You watch, as a magical mist of droplets, descends on the flowers, giving them life. After the water, you notice the flowers seem brighter, With even more aromatic smells. PAUSE The woman gives a half smile to the flowers, And begins walking again. PAUSE This time, she finds a forest of trees that welcomes her shower of life-giving mist. Like the flowers, they seem more alive after their bath. Greener and taller and stronger. PAUSE The woman gives a half smile to the trees, And begins walking again. This time, she walks back to the river. PAUSE Sitting on the banks of the river, you gaze at the woman, who holds the jug over the water. Seconds later, the water from the river gathers, And rises in the air to take the jug from the woman. The woman turns to you, and gives you a half smile. Then she takes a step on top of the water, before dissipating and turning into mist that disappears in the air. PAUSE You lie back on the river bank And close your eyes again. You hear the water rushing, And feel its calm magic within you. So let yourself move around a bit until you find your most favorite sleeping position, Noticing the comfortable familiarity of your body here. Take a deep, cleansing breath in, gathering up all the things left of the day, And as you exhale, breathe them all out. One more deep breath in, feeling the cool air cleanse you, And exhale your day out. Bring your breathing to a smooth, natural rhythm, And just be here for a bit, Aware of your body, The space it takes up, The rhythmic movement of your breathing, The heaviness of your eyes, The weight of your body on your bed. Breathe... And be here with your breath. PAUSE... Bring your attention to the crown of your head, And imagine a soft, purple light glowing here. Warming you, Putting your mind at ease, And infusing your entire body with calm from the top down. PAUSE… Now feel that warm, purple light as it touches your face, Kissing your eyes as they grow heavier, Relaxing your cheeks as your jaw releases and lowers, Softening your lips, Your chin, And your ears. Feel your entire head melt deeper into your pillow. PAUSE… Now observe as this soft, purple light dances around your neck, Releasing any tension, Travels down to your shoulders as they lower with ease, And covers your chest, softening and soothing. Feel the warmth it gives to everywhere it touches. PAUSE… The purple light is now glowing all the way down your arms. Feel the warm tingle in your fingers as your body gets heavier and heavier. And welcome the warmth into your belly, Your hips, And your thighs, The soft, purple light soothing you, And guiding you into the depth of peaceful sleep. PAUSE… Notice as your legs get heavier, like steel sinking to the bottom of the ocean, Falling further and further into the comfort of your bed. And let the purple light warmly buzz into your feet, Releasing any tension, And anchoring you into the depth of the night. PAUSE… Let the waves of sleep wash over you, beautiful, Covering you in the calm mist of purple light, And embracing you on your journey of peaceful sleep tonight. LONG PAUSE Let your breath gently tumble in and out, opening and expanding your chest, becoming slow and deep. LONG PAUSE And the breath fills your mind, clearing it of all thoughts, and any stray thought that creeps in Simply passes by and falls away. LONG PAUSE And now that your body is relaxing, And its tension is releasing, you turn inward, and take a moment to feel gratitude, true appreciation for your life and for all of you. So, let’s begin. See if you can imagine a gold picture frame In your center. And in the frame, an image begins to form, Like a puzzle with pieces And all the shapes coming together. PAUSE Now, envision the pink crystal’s light floating outside your body. You are still connected to it, as it comes from you. The light now shines all around your home flooding it with pure love, Your pure love. PAUSE Soon, the pink light radiates beyond your home enfolding your street and neighbors and trees and homes in the power of pure, deep love. Your pure love. PAUSE The pink power of love expands again and shimmers more, encasing your entire town, and all the towns nearby. All the buildings and residents now glow with the power of love, The deepest love of you. PAUSE The crystal’s energy bursts again with its pink, Its true love cascading over the state And all its people, Every tree and plant, And every animal, Are bathed in your pure love. PAUSE The crystal’s power hovers over the entire country, fanning out in love over cities, counties and states, to all the people, And every grain of sand, Glimmering with love, Your pure love. PAUSE You return again to the love inside you And feel it swell until it’s covering the world and every human in it. Every mountain and forest and beach and city. Your pure love floods the entire world. PAUSE Now, imagine yourself perched above the world gazing at what happens when pure love shines through from just one person. And if your love can make such a ripple, Imagine what happens When loves comes from all people. PAUSE Then warming your sinuses And your forehead, The light is all through you now, As you rest in your bed. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, The light expanding all around. It moves out from you, Then to your room, And into your town. PAUSE So the peace and relaxation, That started with you, Is touching others And relaxing them, too. PAUSE So, imagine if you can, All the people you know, Feeling relaxed and at peace, With that same magical glow. PAUSE And watch as the light, Bounces from one to another. It fans out across regions, Bringing peace to sisters and brothers. PAUSE So, lie still in your bed, With your serenity aglow, The more you do this, The more your peace grows. So lay down in your bed and let them melt away, as you anchor yourself in the present moment and allow your body to rest. So let yourself slither around in your bed until you find the sleeping position you love the most. Take a deep breath in when you find it, And then exhale and settle even deeper into your bed. Be here. With the stillness of the night. And allow its cool, calm silence to isolate those thoughts racing through your mind. Those worries, Anxieties, Stresses, Fears. They are the ones in rigorous motion against the backdrop of the stillness. PAUSE… Thoughts. Stories. Emotions. That’s all they are. They are not you. What’s true is this moment. This breath. You. Here on your bed. Alive. Breathing. So allow yourself to separate them from you, All these worries. Inviting them to exit the rapid movement inside your head, And enter the stillness of the night. This moment of presence, Where the worries cannot exist. Watch them dissolve in the space around you, The tiny grains of sand spilling from them until nothing is left. Release the worries into the peaceful presence of the night. LONG PAUSE... Feel the deep relaxation of your body as the worries dissolve. It melts into the arms of the night, Releasing its need to control, Or be ready, Or fight. And instead softens, Trusts, And surrenders. Relax and release. PAUSE… It’s time to sleep. LONG PAUSE Stay in the present. The calm. The quiet of the night. Allow yourself to relax into it. LONG PAUSE Now, breathe, And let your mind Drift along, with thoughts moving through like rolling waves. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, standing in a lighthouse, with a world of velvety black all around the lighthouse. PAUSE It’s nighttime. and so quiet, that the night hums, and the murmur of the waves echoes through the tower. They are the only sounds, and they bring peace to you. PAUSE Standing at the top of the lighthouse, you gaze out into the sea, a sea dark and mysterious, like black obsidian. PAUSE But through the darkness, a soft beam of light, crosses the water in a circular motion, exposing the secret majesty of the sea. PAUSE Now, imagine, if you can, watching the light, as it sets small sections of water aglow. Just for a few seconds, before it moves on. PAUSE You count the seconds between the dark and light, hypnotized by its beauty. You know that there is magic in both. power in both magnificence in both. Dark and Light. PAUSE Imagine now, Listening to sea, As its waves Flow up and down. Up and down. Up and down. PAUSE Then the sea whispers to you, In between each roll of her waves. What does she say? PAUSE After a moment, you hear the sea singing, ever so quietly. It’s like a lullaby softly rolls in you. PAUSE You gaze out into The watery blackness again. This time, though, You feel gratitude with your peace. Gratitude because your lighthouse shines to help others. PAUSE After a while, your light is not the only light that illuminates the water of midnight. Now, a luminous full moon bursts forth from the clouds that had tried to cover it. PAUSE As the lighthouse beam cuts across the water, it meets with the silvery glow of the moon, and for a moment, the sea illuminates like tinsel. PAUSE For hours, you gaze at this symphony of light– this dance of moon and lighthouse energy pirouetting across the water. It’s relaxing. Mesmerizing. Inspiring. PAUSE But then, the light from the moon dims, and the beam of the lighthouse fades. Across the sky, the first ray of the sunlight pierces night’s veil. PAUSE And, as the sun rises, bringing life to the water, and creatures in and around the water, a new calm befalls the sea, one of brilliant beauty and color. One of life and peace and joy. PAUSE… And see if you can imagine yourself, Looking upon your mind, Noticing your thoughts from afar, And then breathing out a sigh, As your body softens, And your mind calms. Slow down now, And find your breath. Inhale deeply, Following the air as it fills up your belly, And hold it for a moment. And then exhale completely, Letting all that air go, And tightening your stomach at the end, As the very last drops of air are released. PAUSE… Relax into a nice, easy rhythm of breathing, Slowing it down bit by bit with every single breath. PAUSE… Let it soothe your body, And calm your mind. LONG PAUSE… Now look upon your mind from afar. This beautiful part of you, Who loves to stay active, Electric, And bursting with thoughts. PAUSE… Notice the colors, The greens and yellows and pinks, Painting your mind as they move, Sparkle, And create. PAUSE… Notice the bubbles of black, The mini clouds of grey, Spreading across with worry, And stress. PAUSE… Notice it all there, Encapsulated in your mind, This gorgeous, magical entity of color. LONG PAUSE… Now breathe out, Over and over again, And notice the movement of your mind, Slow down, Lighten, And calm. LONG PAUSE… Breathe out, And notice the colors that were sparkling within, The colors that were painted inside, Are lightening, Dissolving, And disappearing. Slowly, Piece by piece, Shade by shade, Drifting away from your mind, And into the nothingness of the night. LONG PAUSE… Look upon your mind from afar, Your body melted deep into your bed, Safe within your sheets. PAUSE… Listen for it, The gentle sounds of silence, Coming from your calm mind. As you feel that pulse, allow yourself to blend with it, Letting it melt into your cells with energy flowing. LONG PAUSE Now gently shift your focus to your breath, Breath that sweeps and expands within you, Every time you breathe in, And out. LONG PAUSE As your breath fills you, become aware of its rhythm, its pulse– Drawing in… and letting out… in… and out. LONG PAUSE Now, see if you can imagine an artist’s canvas inside you, Unfolding at your center, spreading to your chakras. See a paintbrush thick with colors, swishing life and energy onto your canvas. PAUSE… Envision the paintbrush at the base of your spine, painting your root chakra red, filling it with stability, like an ancient tree whose roots run deep. Breathe in the tree’s aroma and hear a soft whisper, Red grounds me. PAUSE… Now, the paintbrush moves below the belly button, with long, orange strokes It taps your feelings– Opening them like a kaleidoscope of emotions that you feel and breathe in. You hear the whisper, Orange connects me to my feelings. PAUSE Envision the brush now rolling over your center With waves of yellow like rays of sunshine, shimmering with confidence. Breathe in the rays and hear, Yellow radiates my confidence. PAUSE Now, the brush wraps gently ‘round your chest, With a beautiful green, flowing over the heart. And with each pass of the brush, calm washes over you. Breathe in the calm as the words come, Green is my peace. PAUSE The brush moves to the throat chakra with turquoise-blue that glistens like the ocean. You peer into the water and see your true expression, So, you breathe in the ocean and affirm, Blue is my self-expression. PAUSE The brush dips deep into an abundant indigo blue and forms scallops along the edges of your third eye, Like a flower that tingles your third eye with truth, it blossoms with your awareness, As you hear, Indigo opens my intuition. PAUSE The paintbrush pauses as it reaches the crown chakra. Then, with a single stroke, a divine purple light stretches from you to the heavens. PAUSE You're in awe of the light. You reach out to touch it and as it moves through your fingers, you know. With purple, I am one with the Divine. LONG PAUSE… You are calm. You are aligned. You are whole. Breathe in slowly and deeply Until a gentle rhythm Of deep breaths Occurs naturally. LONG PAUSE While breathing, Listen to your breath, To the air entering you, Full of calm and relaxation. LONG PAUSE And listen to the breath Leaving you, Taking away stress And distractions. Leaving you fully relaxed And at peace. PAUSE Now take a moment And become aware of your pillow. Your soft, cushy pillow That gently cradles your head. PAUSE Feel the pillow caressing your head, And supporting it, With loving care, So you can deeply relax. PAUSE Now breathe again. Breathe deep And let your body Feel the bed beneath you, And the mattress that knows The exact amount to give into you, So it molds around your body. PAUSE Now, imagine a blanket, Soft and fuzzy, So incredibly cozy As it enfolds you. PAUSE Allow yourself to breathe deeply, And let the blanket snuggle you, So you feel secure, And comfortable. And protected. PAUSE Now, imagine yourself Gently lifting off your bed, While wrapped comfortably In your blanket. As you take a deep breath, You gently float out into the night, Where you feel the warmth of the night, Sweetly kiss your cheeks. PAUSE And, after a moment, The blanket descends. And, as it does, Several tiny bunnies approach And gently nuzzle you. Their velvety fur is comforting, Almost relaxing, And their calm demeanor Brings a sense of peace to you. PAUSE You take a deep breath, And the blanket rises above the bunnies That stand on their hind legs, As if wishing you well. And the blanket sails away. PAUSE And, as you float away With your blanket, You notice a meadow, Lighted by fireflies, So you can see All the flowers And butterflies that awaken For your arrival. PAUSE The blanket skims slowly over the flowers, So you feel their silky petals Gently tickling you. PAUSE Dozens of sleeping butterflies awaken And open their wings, So you feel a gentle breeze Against your skin. A pair of butterflies touch your cheeks, Fanning them with their wings, To give you a real butterfly kiss. PAUSE The blanket continues, Floating through the meadow, Toward the very center, Where you notice a large white flower, Shimmering in the moonlight. The flower is big enough for you. PAUSE The blanket softly lowers you, Into the petal arms of the flower. They feel like silk and velvet Blending together To make the most delicious sensation. PAUSE And the petal arms of the flower, Wrap around you, Creating a luxurious bed, That warms and snuggles you. PAUSE And as you breathe again, Your mind and body, Let go, In this perfect place for you, So, you can peacefully dream, The night away. Letting go of All the tension In your muscles, And any aches and pains. Just let them go. LONG PAUSE Take a deep breath, A cleansing, purifying breath, A breath that releases tension, And brings calm to you. LONG PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, Sitting on the ground, With a beautiful, statuesque older woman. PAUSE The woman has hair, Braided in mazes, On top of her head. Her eyes are like shiny onyx, And her skin glows, In the sun. PAUSE Together, you sit cross-legged on the ground. The woman weaves a basket With black, brown and golden strands. PAUSE Several minutes pass in silence. Then the woman, Shows you the basket, With a magnificent spider design woven into it. “The spider knows balance,” she says. “Close your eyes, breathe, And feel balance in your life.” PAUSE After a moment, You feel a calmness, A centeredness, A balance, Like the nimble spider. The woman smiles. PAUSE The woman sets the Spider basket aside, And takes out another basket. After weaving for a few minutes, She shows you a basket with a beautiful flower design. PAUSE She gives you the basket to hold, And you run your fingers over the strands. They’re surprisingly soft. PAUSE After moments of silence, The basket weaver speaks again. “The flower knows natural beauty,” she says. “Close your eyes, breathe, “And see your natural beauty.” PAUSE After a moment of closing your eyes, And going inward, You see light around yourself, Light that shines from the inside out. And you recognize and embrace Your natural beauty. The woman smiles. PAUSE The woman sets the flower basket aside, And reaches for another. This basket is different, though. It is completed, but there are no colors, no designs. Just simple golden strands. PAUSE After a moment, The woman speaks. “This basket carries food, Nourishment for our people. It understands what the Self needs to sustain.” PAUSE Holding the basket, You close your eyes And are flooded With images of ways To care for yourself. Ways you’ve either ignored or not known. PAUSE As you open your eyes, The basket changes. Designs of spiders, flowers, Houses, trees, patterns, and more, Appear on the basket. PAUSE After a moment, The basket weaver speaks. “The basket is yours,” she says. “It will come with you always. When you need to care for yourself, Just look into it. What you need will appear.” PAUSE Imagine, gingerly, running your fingers Over the designs, Knowing that they were created Just for you. Knowing that they hold the keys To your well-being. PAUSE Now, envision closing your eyes again, Breathing deeply, peacefully, And seeing the basket Weave its way into your consciousness, So it is there, With its contents, Whenever you need or want it. And see if you can feel this space expand just a bit more with every new breath in. Breathe out and release, Breathe in and expand. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, Those rainbow colors in you, As you slide up the arches, To explore something new. PAUSE Imagine scaling the colors, As your rise into the sky, Seeing shimmering sunlight, And misty clouds go by. PAUSE And the rainbow works like a conveyor belt, Moving you to the top. The higher you go; the more connected you feel. You don’t want this feeling to stop. PAUSE And finally, the rainbow conveyor slows, As you reach the highest peak, With rays of sunlight all around, Shining through in streaks. PAUSE And, from your place atop the clouds, Sitting on the rainbow’s arch, You feel the rainbow inside of you; It’s no longer separate and apart. PAUSE You feel your chakras vibrate, Each energy center alive, You feel it in your abdomen, And at the base of your spine. PAUSE You feel the colors in your core And in your throat above, And through your chest, near your heart, You’re filled with compassion and love. PAUSE And a gentle energy hums On your head and between your eyes. You see the colors indigo and purple, Blending with you and rising to the sky. PAUSE Breathe in deep the colors, That light you from inside. Feel your energy balancing, As joy and peace coincide. PAUSE And, after a moment you’re ready, To bid the rainbow goodbye. You turn and position yourself, For your downward ride. PAUSE And, as you cruise down through the clouds, You relish the balance within. The rainbow has shown you magic, And that you both are truly kin. PAUSE So, when your feet touch the ground, And the rainbow fades away, You thank the rainbow for its magic, And head out on your way. Keep breathing out the tension and pain. LONG PAUSE And, as you breathe, let your body melt into the sheets of your bed. Let the sheets wrap around you, enfold you, in warmth and love. LONG PAUSE Keep breathing. Keep relaxing. Until you feel your body is so comfortable it could float. LONG PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, your body floating, drifting upward, slowly and gently. PAUSE And, as your body rises, You hear a whisper in the air. “The night is bathed in both light and dark. Drink in its beauty.” PAUSE As the whisper ends, you feel your body sailing out into the heart of the night. You feel safe and secure, and calm and relaxed. PAUSE As you float into the night, you gaze upon a half-moon glistening in the sky– a half-moon that whispers in your ear, “You are a light in the darkness.” You thank the half-moon and hold the whisper close. PAUSE After a few moments, you float over a forest of pine trees– their needles gently tickle you. Then, the pine trees whisper to you, “You are fresh and new each night and day.” You thank the pine trees and hold the whisper close. PAUSE Moments later, you drift over a lake reflecting the moon and the stars. The lake whispers to you, “You have calmness in your center.” You thank the lake and hold the whisper close. PAUSE After drawing in a deep breath, you feel a gentle breeze guiding you as you float. There’s a whisper in the breeze, ”You know how to flow with life.” You thank the breeze and hold the whisper close. PAUSE You drift over a park filled with a garden of flowers. The flowers whisper in your ear, “You spread natural beauty in the world each day.” You thank the flowers and hold their whisper close. PAUSE You draw in a deep breath, and glide over hills and rocks until you come to a waterfall. The mist of the waterfall kisses your face and begins to whisper to you, “You are strong, yet flexible.” You thank the waterfall and hold the whisper close. PAUSE After a while, You feel yourself floating back to your home. Soon, you are gently placed in your bed where the sheets caress you. Then the sheets whisper to you, “You are always safe here.” You thank the sheets and hold their whisper close. And, as you do, you feel the sheets wrap around you, snuggling you, and your mind gently hears the whispers of the night. They play in your ear like a lullaby, and soon, you are asleep. LONG PAUSE As you find the connection with the night, breathe into it, allowing the stillness to flow in and all around you. LONG PAUSE Feel the stillness expanding, Bringing with it peace and tranquility. Peace and tranquility to rest in you and around you. LONG PAUSE Now, visualize a spark of light above your head. It’s golden-white, and full of energy, and it radiates just above your head. PAUSE Take a pause and just watch the light, as it twinkles and dances. After a few moments, you notice it’s growing: The spark has formed a beam, a golden-white beam that radiates from your head. PAUSE Take a deep breath, and focus on the beam. As you do, observe how it grows taller and wider. Soon, the top of your head is aglow with this beautiful light– a light that reaches toward the heaven. PAUSE After a few moments, the light begins changing colors. Purple, blue, green, orange, red and yellow. A kaleidoscope of colors shines from your head to the heavens. PAUSE Now, breathe in again. until you feel that radiant beam of color really become part of you. Part of your mind. Part of your body. Part of your spirit. Hold this beautiful space. PAUSE Now, gently shift your focus, if you can, to your heart chakra where you notice A slender ray of light emanating from your heart. PAUSE The light pulses and shimmies, go in and out at first. Then, it becomes steady. PAUSE As you imagine gazing at the light from your chest, a feeling of warmth comes over you. Warmth and contentment. PAUSE Breathe into the light, and observe how it shines brighter and brighter, and you feel more contentment, more warmth… More Love. PAUSE As the light intensifies, an incredible, unconditional love spreads through you. It’s calming, relaxing, and filled with natural beauty. It opens from you to the entire world. Allow yourself to really feel the Peace… and Beauty… and Joy that this love brings. PAUSE Now, breathe deeply again, Slowly, Deeply. And visualize the brilliant beam of light from your head, and from your heart. See them shining with love and peace. Feel the calm and contentment they embody. Breathe these into you. Welcome these into you. PAUSE And, as you continue breathing in this pure beauty and love, know that you are a conduit for this day and night. So, let your body and your mind drift off to sleep, For while they do, your inner light will brighten, and shine for you and those around you when you awaken. LONG PAUSE Now, allow yourself to feel a wave of relaxation, starting at your toes and moving slowly through all of your body. LONG PAUSE Take another slow, deep breath, and feel the wave of relaxation rolling over you once again. Embrace the relaxation. LONG PAUSE Now, see if you can visualize Standing by a sapphire lake. There are rocks jutting out from the sides, and green water grasses wafting in a breeze. PAUSE A black water bird skirts across the top of the water, Then dunks its head beneath the surface to catch a tiny fish. PAUSE Dragonflies dance in the air, every once in a while, alighting on a lilypad or blade of grass. PAUSE Breathe in gently, and notice the tranquil feeling You have just standing and watching nature softly hum in and around the water. PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, notice a pool of bubbles forming in the middle of the lake. PAUSE Over time, the bubbles seem more intense as they rise out of the water. and, as they do, they turn to white water that cascades back into the lake. PAUSE The bubbles continue rising like a 360-degree waterfall. Then, slowly, the bubbles fade away. PAUSE Now, take a deep breath, and imagine, if you can, the silhouette of a woman appearing in the middle of the lake. She glistens in silver and radiates her glow like the sun. PAUSE In a few seconds, she sees you, and a wide smile crosses her face. She extends her arm, welcoming you to join her. PAUSE Without a second thought, you step onto the water. It supports you fully, as you walk toward her. PAUSE When you reach her, she folds her arms around you in an airy hug. You feel her total acceptance. PAUSE Then, after a moment, you and the water goddess sink into the lake. You are totally safe and comfortable. PAUSE Beneath the surface, you breathe easily and walk with the goddess effortlessly. PAUSE As you stroll together, fish pause and seem to bow. The water goddess smiles and raises her hand in a gesture of peace. PAUSE A few moments later, you come upon a cave that glistens in silver like the water goddess. You know instantly that this is where the water goddess lives. PAUSE As you enter the cave, you see gleaming muscle shells lining the walls and glistening like gems. PAUSE The goddess beckons you to sit in a large clamshell lined with the softest grass. You nestle comfortably in the grassy chair. PAUSE Moments later, the water goddess speaks. but her words come telepathically, not verbally. and in seconds, she conveys to you the story of her life. You feel imbued with her knowledge. You feel imbued with her peace. PAUSE She speaks again telepathically, this time sharing all she knows about your life. You feel comforted that she knows and fully accepts you. PAUSE Time passes, but not in a linear fashion. You become aware that you have no idea how long you’ve spent with the goddess. The goddess recognizes this and smiles. She thanks you for visiting and expresses her hope that you will share her knowledge of the water with others. PAUSE Then, with a wave of her hand, a current of water carries you out of the glistening cave, through the lake, and back to shore. You arrive on the bank of the lake completely dry. PAUSE… Become aware of this energy, Feeling your face and eyes. Softening the skin on your face, And relaxing your eyes. Your cheekbones, Your lips, And your jaw. PAUSE… Awareness moves to your throat, And your neck. Feel this calm energy soothe your throat. PAUSE… This energy fills your heart space. Feel your heart, Peaceful and calm, The place for love, Kindness, And compassion. This place, For self-love. PAUSE… This reiki energy fills your belly now, Your stomach area, Feel it calm. PAUSE… Feel surrender. PAUSE… Observe and notice your hips, Feeling your hips settle. Letting go of your long day. PAUSE… This energy fills your knees. And down your legs. Caressing your knees and legs, Feeling light and relaxed. LONG PAUSE Now imagine… Floating on the wings of a heron, Across a rose-tinged sky, With the sun bursting forth in morning light, While you glide by. PAUSE And on the wings of this heron, Into a frothy marsh you land, With black cattails waving in unison, Like a Japanese fan. PAUSE And a fish breaks the silence, Bubbling up against the surface, While you breathe into space, And wonder about your life’s purpose. PAUSE The heron turns to you while sitting on his back, With a spark of understanding shining in his eyes, And you know in that instant that This unique bird gets you and is wise. PAUSE Then, The bird stands straight and lifts its great wings, And you hold on gently, With deep care, As you rise, Rise high into the air. PAUSE The sun beams full and warm, Like toasty kisses against your cheeks. And after a long silence, You breathe deep, And decide to speak. PAUSE “You are a great blue heron, like royalty in the air. And when you pause near other fish or fowl, It’s like they bow. “But what magnificent heron are you doing with me? You could be doing anything, Anywhere else, With your grace and majesty.” PAUSE And, the beak of the blue heron shot up and pierced the air. And he let out a shrill squawk, Like the cry of an animal, Before he was ready to talk. PAUSE And then in a voice like the gentle ripples of a wave, The bird began to softly sing and then talk, And somehow, It was okay. PAUSE “To know your purpose and who you really are, Let go of the thoughts that Lock you behind bars.” “Instead, let your heart soar like you’re flying with me. Sail over hilltops and valleys, mountains, oceans and more. And then land in peace and gratitude, Eager to know what else is in store.” PAUSE Then, the heron takes flight again With you in tow, And you perch on a tree branch, Above the water below. PAUSE And while he shakes his feathers and squawks aloud, You’re relaxed and comfortable and dust off yourself, And embracing his words, You smile in peace and ask,“What else?” PAUSE Between his beak, it seems the heron is smiling, Like a show of approval from a teacher to a student, It’s as if you’re arriving. To the place you want to be in your life, Filled with peace and relaxation. It’s yours to create. You need no explanation. PAUSE So, let go of the doubts, And the doubters, The excuses and more, Remember. Embrace this: it’s your time to soar. You don’t have to wait, To create your thing. Just breathe in peace And spread your wings. Allow your body to let go, to just melt into the bed. LONG PAUSE Now, imagine if you can, a great horned owl, perched majestically on a tree branch outside your window. PAUSE As you look at the creature, You see the seriousness in his rich black eyes, and also the calmness. PAUSE As you gaze at him, a feeling of protection unfolds around you. you feel safe with the guardian of the night standing sentry near your room. PAUSE After a moment, a full moon peers out from behind a sea of clouds. The owl, his tree, and the entire world are bathed in silver light. PAUSE As you watch from the window, The owl spreads his wings, hoots, and comes to the window sill. In a moment, the great owl’s wings wrap gently around you, until you’re hoisted onto its back. Together, you both take to the sky. PAUSE Secured safely in the feathers of the owl, you soar toward the moon, toward the millions of stars dancing in the night. PAUSE You can see the moon reflecting in the owl’s eyes, as you skim the tops of tall pines in a forest. Tonight, you are both guardians of the night, children of moonlight. PAUSE Then the sea whispers to you, In between each roll of her waves. What does she say? PAUSE After a while, the owl sinks into the trees, and lands on a large limb, overlooking a lake. PAUSE The lake shimmers with the moonlight skipping upon it, and a few fish bobbing up and down. At first, you think the owl will swoop down and scoop up a fish, but the guardian stays still. And waits. PAUSE Many moments pass, But then you hear it. Another hoot in the distance. Another great horned owl approaches. PAUSE Moments later, the second owl lands on the branch, and a chorus of hoots ensues. PAUSE At first, the music of the owls is a language not known. Then magically, their hoots transform Into words, and you become privy to their conversation. PAUSE The two protectorates of the night talk back and forth about their duties, and how to keep the forest safe. Then, just as quickly as it began, the conversation ends, and the second owl takes to the sky. PAUSE Many moments pass, and then the great horned owl hoots again. only this time, you understand. you are on your way home, back to the comfort of your bed. PAUSE The bird lifts its wings, and together you fly in the moonlight, steadily gliding into the night’s thin air. Landing on your window sill, the owl bends over as you gently slide off its back. As you walk to your bed, you give a turn and one more look. There, perched in the tree, is your guardian of the night ready to watch over you, and keep you safe, as you dream. So invite every cell in your body to shift from control to faith, From worry to hope, From dark to light. PAUSE… Be here in the light, Bathing in the soft yellow blankets of hope. Let them soothe you as you dream of possibilities, And whisper your prayers to the Universe. And then let go, You have no more control right now. PAUSE… So feel your body melt further into your bed, And your mind hum with spaciousness. No more thinking. No more doing. Just being, One with love. One with trust. So let yourself slither around in your bed until you find the sleeping position you love the most. Take a deep breath in when you find it, And then exhale and settle even deeper into your bed. Be here. With the stillness of the night. And allow its cool, calm silence to isolate those thoughts racing through your mind. Those worries, Anxieties, Stresses, Fears. They are the ones in rigorous motion against the backdrop of the stillness. PAUSE… Thoughts. Stories. Emotions. That’s all they are. They are not you. What’s true is this moment. This breath. You. Here on your bed. Alive. Breathing. So allow yourself to separate them from you, All these worries. Inviting them to exit the rapid movement inside your head, And enter the stillness of the night. This moment of presence, Where the worries cannot exist. Watch them dissolve in the space around you, The tiny grains of sand spilling from them until nothing is left. Release the worries into the peaceful presence of the night. LONG PAUSE... Feel the deep relaxation of your body as the worries dissolve. It melts into the arms of the night, Releasing its need to control, Or be ready, Or fight. And instead softens, Trusts, And surrenders. Relax and release. PAUSE… It’s time to sleep. So breathe… In and out, And fall into the depths of the night. How long have you been wishing That someone would notice your pain? PAUSE… We need to eat; it’s a fact of life. We need to nourish ourselves. But nourishment comes in many forms, What you need may not come from the shelves. PAUSE… What exactly do you hunger for? What would fill you up? What have you been missing out on? And how long have you gone without? PAUSE… The first step toward satisfaction Is to name the thing you seek. To see it and feel it and call it out, The Universe will see your technique. PAUSE… Think about why you’re in the back, About why you don’t speak up. What makes you feel less important, Than those you take care of? PAUSE… They need you to be healthy. They need you to be strong. They want to know that you’re okay, That you’re not just playing along. PAUSE… So what will you tell them when they ask, When they see that your shine has faded? How will you tell them to care for you? What yearning begs for urgent attention? PAUSE… How will it feel to get what you need? What will it change deep within? Will guilt rise up to steal your joy, And will you send it packing? LONG PAUSE… Inhale and fortify yourself with thoughts of your power and value. Exhale and liberate yourself from the thoughts that undermine you. PAUSE… Where does this hunger come from? What can it tell you if you listen? Is there something helpful and positive Hiding in its shadows? PAUSE… What’s the secret message, The thread that runs throughout? What can this empty space tell you, About the cost of going without? PAUSE… We all know your heart’s in the right place, That you want what’s best for all. But deprivation just can’t get you there. It just doesn’t have the power. PAUSE… Instead you need indulgence, At least every now and then. You need to see yourself as worth the effort, And make time to see it through. PAUSE… Feel the new energy in your body, The burst that happens when you feed your soul. Sink into the safety of fullness, And let yourself rest there. PAUSE… Imagine how beautiful you look now, Shining with the glow of abundance. Enjoy the warmth coursing through you, Flavored with love and gratitude. PAUSE… So many things feel possible now, So many ideas come forth. It’s hard to know how stunted we are, When we’re just holding on for dear life. PAUSE… But that isn’t you anymore. You’ve asked for what you need. And because those you love truly love you back, What you asked for came to be. LONG PAUSE… Inhale and know you’re part of something bigger than yourself. Exhale with thanks for those who care, those who catch you when you can’t. PAUSE… Think of this as a wakeup call, A reason to make a change. Feeding ourselves is a necessity, Whether food or love or peace. PAUSE… Though change can’t happen overnight, You can do it need by need. Check in with yourself regularly, And pay attention to what you crave. PAUSE… You’re not taking anything from others, When you choose to feed yourself. Instead you’re multiplying what you give, By starting from a place of health. PAUSE… If anyone in your life disputes this, Give that bond some thought. Love is not meant to starve our hearts, But instead to make them swell. PAUSE… Think about your usual window, The one you look out the most. What sort of view would you rather have? Should it be mountain, desert, or coast? LONG PAUSE… Inhale as you picture a magical scene, one that makes you glow inside. Exhale and promise to take yourself there, to be your own tour guide. PAUSE… Or maybe the change isn’t a place. Maybe it’s a calling instead. Perhaps you need to find your purpose, A goal to serve both heart and head. PAUSE… When our lives don’t line up with our dreams, When we feel forced to choose, The choice can break us right in half, And leave us feeling abused. PAUSE… Instead we need to find the point, Where all our needs align. We need to find the authentic path, A life of our own design. PAUSE… So dig into your yearnings, Find the wisdom of your spirit. Learn what the universe has been planning for you, Let yourself finally hear it. LONG PAUSE… Breathe in and imagine that very first step, the one that starts the journey. Breathe out as you watch yourself take it, knowing you are worthy. But how much do we think about, The strong foundation we need inside? PAUSE… Close your eyes and check in with yourself, Try to see how you’re holding up. Are there cracks in your underpinnings? Do you feel tremors now and then? PAUSE… We don’t all start out on solid ground, Some get more support than others. And then when we’re tasked with building our lives, We forget to ask if we’re ready. PAUSE… We assume we have all that we need, And the world around us expects it. But we never know just how much that is, Until we’ve already started building. PAUSE… By then, it’s easy to decide, That everything will probably be fine. We might travel years down the road, Before worries creep into our minds. LONG PAUSE… Inhale deep, down to your core, and let your essence surround you. Exhale and feel the answers come, rising as you need them. PAUSE… Once uncertainties fill our minds, The cracks are already there. But cracks don’t mean the house will fall. Instead they’re reminders to take a peek below. PAUSE… Just like maintenance for your house, Your soul needs tune-ups too. We need to know of creaks and shifts, Of changes at our center. PAUSE… Sometimes the act of checking in, Is all the process requires. Other times, there’s work to be done, Tasks that cannot be ignored. PAUSE… Some fixes may call for brand new tools, While others are familiar. Your soul will tell you what it needs, If you just ask the question. LONG PAUSE… Inhale and sink deeper into knowing, see just what you need. Exhale as insight finds you, believe in the growth it promises. PAUSE… Fear often comes when we do this work, But know that it’s an illusion. There’s nothing to fear from your deepest self, And it will never leave you forsaken. PAUSE… Evolution must be a collaboration, A continuous project of growth. If you tend the framework regularly, Your spirit will do the hard work. PAUSE… But if you let it fall into disrepair, If you look away when it calls you, You cannot move toward serenity, And your to-be-fixed list simply grows. PAUSE… Instead, why not stay on top of the job? Why not give it consistent attention? That effort will yield an unshakeable foundation, And a beautiful home for your soul. LONG PAUSE… Breathe in and picture the dwelling you’ve built, the perfect space to thrive. Breathe out with certainty as you tell yourself that dwelling will soon be yours. To be in mindful awareness of your thoughts and your body. To let your breath relax you for a night of deep rest. And to shift your attention onto all the things that make you feel good rather than on those that darken your mood, as you ease into sleep. Let’s begin by settling into a comfortable position, Closing your eyes and taking your first deep breath in. Let your belly expand as far as it can with all that oxygen, And release your breath out through your nose. Take another deep breath in, Filling your belly with just a little bit more air than before, And when you can’t breathe in anymore, Exhale it all out. And one last deep breath in, Imagining the air coming in cleansing your body, cleansing your mind, And letting it all go as you breathe out. Now bring your breathing back to its normal rhythm. And just take a moment to feel into your body. Noticing it rise and fall with the motion of your breath. Noticing if you feel any lightness from increased oxygen. Noticing if you have any kinks or tension you need to release. PAUSE… Bring your awareness to your breath. Notice how good it feels to breathe in and out, How the air can make your body tingle ever so softly with life, How the rise and fall of your chest creates a relaxing rhythm for your body, How each breath in is a renewing moment. And say a silent thank you to your body for doing this work for you as you relax it deeper into your bed. PAUSE… You may notice thoughts coming up. And if they do, imagine that any of those thoughts or emotions that are heavy with stress or worry or fear begin to dissolve with every breath out, Vanishing into the space around you, And releasing their hold on you. Watch them dissolve as you breathe them out. PAUSE... Now notice if there are any thoughts or emotions that come up that make you feel good. Imagine yourself placing them into a beautiful basket beside you. Maybe you see yourself placing thoughts about your healthy body in the basket, Or the work you do, The people who bring joy to your life, Or even the events that took place today that brought a smile to your heart. Place them in that basket and imagine a smile widening across your face as you do. PAUSE… Feel the calm happiness inside of you as you look at your basket. This pile of goodness that warms your heart and reminds you of all the blessings in your life. Breathe them in, And surrender deeper into your bed, deeper into the arms of sleep. PAUSE… This moment is a gift. No matter what happened today, No matter what tomorrow brings. This moment right now, this breath, is a miracle. And you are pure magic, A being of love and light who is flooded with blessings. So relax and surrender to the night, As you swim in the goodness of it all. So settle into your bed, positioning yourself as comfortably as you can on your back. Take a moment to cover yourself in your blankets if you like, And then allow yourself to simply lay still for a few moments, As your attention shifts from all the outside noise of the day, To the calm inside your breath. PAUSE… Feel your body relaxing further with every breath, As the warmth of your soft bed pulls you in deeper, Deeper, Deeper. PAUSE… Now slowly bring your attention to your arms, And slowly extend and stretch them in any direction that feels comfortable for you. Stretching them long as you feel your muscles expand, holding it for just a moment. And then release the stretch, Allowing your arms to settle deeper into comfort. PAUSE… Now bring your attention to your neck, And slowly drop your head to one side, feeling the stretch on the side of your neck as you do. Breathe into the stretch, staying with the pull of the muscles, And release. Drop your head to the other side, stretching the other side of your neck, Imagine that muscle stretching and relieving any pain or tension it does, And then release, Bringing your head and your neck back into a deeply relaxed and comfortable position. PAUSE… Now let your attention fall upon your face, As you open your mouth wide, stretching out the muscles in your cheeks, mouth and forehead. Keep expanding the stretch, feeling the muscles release the weight of the day, And then release, Relaxing your forehead, face, cheeks and mouth, As they melt into your pillow. PAUSE… Now for the last stretch, reach your hands up above your head and stretch your legs out as far as you can, Pointing your toes and opening your fingers, Imagining your body being pulled from the top and bottom as your body expands. Feel the stretch align your spine, And release any pieces of stress or tension stored in your body. And release, Feeling the rush of calmness in your body, As you allow yourself to now settle into your favorite sleeping position. PAUSE… Breathe. If there’s any more tension or pain in your body, Breathe it out through your exhale. And then surrender further into the comfort of your bed. Breathe and release. Breathe and relax. How long has been since you sat with yourself, With no one else around? PAUSE… Take a deep breath and close your eyes, As we seek that quiet once again. It’s time to see what’s changed within, Since the last time you checked in. PAUSE… There’s so much energy around us, From people and their devices and machines. And though we need these things a lot of the time, They’re not necessary as much as we think. PAUSE… Once we let these distractions into our lives, It gets harder and harder to say no. And once we stop making space for the quiet, We forget that we need it at all. PAUSE… It’s so easy to get caught up in the hum of it all, To go with society’s flow. But when we start to crave that hum over other things, It’s a sign we might need to let go. LONG PAUSE… Inhale and pull peace deep into your body, hear only the sound of your breath. Exhale and assess how much calmer you feel, as the peace flows from cell to cell. PAUSE… The answers we seek from those around us, Can be both helpful and not. But the answers we seek from our spirit Are always on the mark. PAUSE… There’s certainly value in connection. No one wants to figure out life all alone. There’s another sort of connection, though, And it’s older and wiser than most. PAUSE… This connection doesn’t need wi-fi. It runs without battery or plug. It only requires your commitment, And a willingness to both listen and hear. PAUSE… And unlike so many other platforms, That tend to steal away pieces of you. Your silent connection to spirit Returns what’s lost as it pays dividends. LONG PAUSE… Take a deeper breath this time, sink deeper into the quiet. Send your distractions away as you exhale, leaving your mind clear and ready. PAUSE… Ideally, we’re looking for balance, A way to thrive inside and out. But until you know how much is too much, It’s too hard to make the call. PAUSE… So take a little away from the world, A peaceful respite now and then. Pay attention as the feelings and thoughts bubble up, And look for the messages they hold. PAUSE… If you struggle to find their meaning, Sit with your questions for a while. Use the clear, quiet space to sort it all out, And lean into what makes it okay. PAUSE… Trust what your inner voice tells you, Now that you’ve given her a chance. She knows what you need before you do, And her signal is constantly strong. LONG PAUSE… Breathe in as you imagine a grounded new you, hopeful, inspired, and at peace. For others, it’s our parents, The souls who allowed us to exist. PAUSE… Others live to love their pets, The animals who brighten their lives. PAUSE… When the time comes to go back, Your group will gather around you. You’ll fly home altogether, Each one made stronger by the miles you flew. All those worries, concerns or stresses you may be feeling about whether or not you’re being a good mom. All those judgements that may be coming at you - whether they’re from others or yourself...let them all go. Even those quiet whispers that wonder how your kids will turn out as adults...let them go. And instead, sit in this truth. You’re doing a great job, mama. And you are a phenomenal mother. And your little ones are so blessed to have you. No matter how many mistakes you make. No matter how unique your style of parenting. No matter how many times you’ve broken down. You are doing a great job. So the intention of today’s meditation is to give you the space to swim in the greatness of your mothering. So you can embrace the beauty of its imperfection and honor yourself for showing up every day. Close your eyes and settle into a position that’s comfortable for you. Slow your breathing down, Inhaling just a little more, And exhaling just a little longer. Feel the air come into the lungs and fill your belly. Relax your cheeks, Let your lower jaw release and let your tongue drop from the roof of your mouth. Lower your shoulders, Soften your stomach, Relax your legs. Feel your body melting into your position. And breathe. PAUSE… This time is for you mama. To honor you. To remind you that you are doing a great job. And that your kids are blessed to have you. Breathe deeply, Exhale completely. PAUSE… I want you to imagine yourself sitting in your favorite spot in your home. You feel so comfortable here. You are safe and cozy. Take a deep breath in, filling your belly with air, And as you exhale, relax yourself further into your favorite spot. PAUSE… Now imagine that your child walks into the room. They’re 20 years older than they are now, An adult in the world. And they’re here in front of you, coming home to visit you, mama. Notice what you see on your face as you look at your child. Joy. Pride. Gratitude. Intense love lighting you up. Your heart is full and you hear your inner voice whisper, you did a great job, mama. Notice your chest expand with air as you drink in the sight in front of you. Your child is here, Healthy. And authentically themselves. PAUSE… Notice that in this space of appreciation for the child you have raised, As you watch your beautiful kid in front of you, There are no judgements. No guilt. No worries about your parenting or even about your child. They do not exist here. All that exists is this incredible human in front of you. And a deep knowing in your gut that you have done a great job. And you continue to do a great job. PAUSE… Now take a deep breath in, inhaling oxygen deep into your body, Feeling it nourish and cleanse you, And breathe out completely, letting yourself sink deeper into relaxation. PAUSE… You will never be a perfect mom. There is no such thing. But you are the perfect mom for your child. And no matter how many missteps you may make, No matter how much you second-guess yourself. You are a phenomenal mother. And you’re doing a great job. Let your inner voice continue to guide you through the terrain of mothering. And trust that you are doing your best. And that your parenting journey is yours to co-create with your child. Every single day. Take a nice long slow deep breath in, And a nice long slow deep breath out. We call forth this energy of reiki, For the highest and the greatest good, At this time. Place your own intention in your mind, PAUSE… And so it is, And so be it. PAUSE… Shift your awareness, To the top of your head. Feel your body heavy, Your arms and legs, Your front body and back body, Descend. PAUSE… Imagine your body is so heavy. It feels like you're filled with sand. At the base of your spine, Imagine a tiny hole. PAUSE… This sand slowly releases, Down and out, And away from your body. PAUSE… You are feeling lighter, And lighter. PAUSE… Your breath is soft. PAUSE… You begin to notice, The last few pieces of sand, As they drift away, Down and out, And away from your body. This tiny hole closes, And at the top of your head, A beautiful waterfall of light. This reiki energy rushes in, You allow this cleansing energy, And calming energy to flow, From the top of your head, And through your entire body. You now feel light. Like a feather. PAUSE… Become aware of this energy, Feeling your face and eyes. Softening the skin on your face, And relaxing your eyes. Your cheekbones, Your lips, And your jaw. PAUSE… Awareness moves to your throat, And your neck. Feel this calm energy soothe your throat. PAUSE… This energy fills your heart space. Feel your heart, Peaceful and calm, The place for love, Kindness, And compassion. This place, For self-love. PAUSE… This reiki energy fills your belly now, Your stomach area, Feel it calm. PAUSE… Feel surrender. PAUSE… Observe and notice your hips, Feeling your hips settle. Letting go of your long day. PAUSE… This energy fills your knees. And down your legs. Caressing your knees and legs, Feeling light and relaxed. PAUSE… Notice your feet, And as this reiki energy flows to your feet, Releasing anything left, Of stress and tension, Feeling now completely at ease, And relaxed. PAUSE… Wishing you sweet dreams. LONG PAUSE Continue breathing and holding a place of peace– A place of serenity and relaxation. LONG PAUSE Now, let your mind unwind. Let any tense or distracting thoughts Simply evaporate. Feel the peace as they disappear. LONG PAUSE Continue breathing, and now imagine stepping outside on a cool, spring day. The air is a mixture of warming sunshine and the last gasp of winter’s chill. PAUSE As you stroll, you notice tiny pockets of snow still dotting the ground, white tufts with green and brown life pushing through. PAUSE Green stems and buds rise from the ground like sentires awakening from a fairy-tale slumber. They rise and reach toward the warming sun. PAUSE As you walk, a nippy breeze catches in the trees, trembling them for a moment, and then returning them to strength and calm. PAUSE The branches of the trees are peppered with bud, some like green leaves: Others like tiny white flowers. When another breeze shakes the trees, the buds hold on eager for their chance to bloom. They won’t give in. PAUSE As you walk along, a flock of birds flies above. Some land in a tree near you, and begin chirping happily, buoyantly, as they make their way back from the warmer climes of the South. PAUSE You pause near the tree, listening to the chorus of joy, and noticing the beautiful red breasts of the birds, dancing between the branches. The robins are back. PAUSE A little farther down the path, water burbles, and you see the first flow of an icy stream as the water melts. PAUSE In the stream, translucent shards of ice still cling precariously to rocks and branches. They soon give way to the stream’s destiny. And the water flows. PAUSE A silver fish with a rainbow on its back, pops its head out of the water, then sinks back into the stream, darting in, out and around bits of ice. PAUSE The sun rises higher in the sky, beaming its warmth to you, and moderating the chilly breeze. You find a rock by the stream, and perch yourself upon it. PAUSE A pair of deer stop by the stream, dipping their noses in the water, and lapping it up with their tongues. They pause when they see you; then scamper away. PAUSE While sitting on the rock, an enormous sense of peace fills you. With spring’s kiss, Nature awakens around you. You feel calm. You feel connected. You feel part of Nature at your core. PAUSE As your time at the rock comes to end, you stand and leave, feeling the ultimate peace, the ultimate connection to life. And you carry that back with you to embrace and share.. Profound wisdom in the air that flows in, And out. PAUSE… It feels, It knows, It heals. It flows. PAUSE… It all exists right here within you, The ability to heal, The ability to nurture and love, The ability to glow. LONG PAUSE… So find the rhythm of your breath, Honoring its journey in and out of your body. Witnessing the way it fills you, Refreshes you, And calms you. PAUSE… Become aware of the way it cleanses you, Clears you, Heals you. LONG PAUSE… Breathe in blue, And invite the healing energy to ride the waves of your breath, Inching its way into every crevice of your body. Repairing, Restoring, Healing. Breathing in blue. LONG PAUSE… If there are parts of you that are broken, Hurting, Or unsettled… In your mind or in your body… Let the blue energy find them, Embrace them, And heal them. LONG PAUSE… The healing breath covers you tonight, In her blankets of unconditional love. Open yourself now, Inviting restoration, And healing. Though it may seem like they’re past their use, In truth, their memory is a blessing. PAUSE… Close your eyes and see who’s there, Which versions of you still linger. Ask yourself where you all stand, If there’s anything you still wonder. PAUSE… Though we want to believe we shed those selves, When new understanding settles in, We actually move farther if we’re willing to embrace The messy past hiding within us. PAUSE… It’s not that we have to wallow there, Or relive what we’d rather not. But whatever they are, we are as well, And their scars have stories to tell. PAUSE… If we don’t listen when they speak, Our present life just gets harder. For they know better than anyone else, What it takes to make us smarter. LONG PAUSE… Picture a younger version of you, hold yourself close as you breathe in gently. Prepare to listen as you speak to you, breathing out to make space in your body. PAUSE… What did she need that she didn’t find? What lessons did she teach you? Have you found what ‘that’ you lacked, Or are you still searching for answers? PAUSE… It may be daunting to look back this way, To see how much work remains. But taking stock reveals successes too, Showing you where you shine. PAUSE… Think of these selves like rings of tree, Their number growing as you age. And like those rings, they’re safely surrounded, By the growth you’ve toiled to achieve. PAUSE… They still exist like shadow selves, Appearing when circumstances demand it. But like the rings in the tree, or ghosts in the attic, They’re only glimmers of what used to be. LONG PAUSE… Inhale and accept the process, the ever changing shifts. Exhale and accept the necessity of keeping watch as you advance. PAUSE… At some point, you will all be friends, You’ll coexist gratefully. For they are pleased that you battle on, With the tools they crafted for you. PAUSE… The past is never quite what we think. Our memories let us down. But a sister-you never forgets a thing, And she’s there to cheer you on. PAUSE… So look more fondly on your past. Don’t fear what you have been. We all spend time in foolish places, Until we figure out where we belong. PAUSE… Even if you haven’t found that place, The one that’s meant for you. Your early selves hold all the clues, And they believe in what you can do. LONG PAUSE… Breathe in as you take your ghosts by the hand, accepting what they offer. And let your body, unfold in peace with each breath. LONG PAUSE Now turn inward, and take a moment to express gratitude for all that is in your life. LONG PAUSE And while relaxing, let your heart and mind focus on you. This time is all about you. LONG PAUSE Imagine now, a tiny light opening in your center. The light is flowing with colors: White, yellow, orange, and red. PAUSE And, this light seems to form in an area of your body that feels delicate, an area where you’ve carried pain or hurt. PAUSE Yet, as the light shines, it absorbs the hurt, taking away the sting of the feeling. PAUSE The light glows, and after a moment, you understand that the light is really a tiny flame, a flame of energy. PAUSE The flame dances from side-to-side, and slowly begins to grow, giving off a feeling of strength, of power rising from the inside. PAUSE As it touches hurt, pain or grief, it swallows the feelings, leaving ashes that simply float away. It replaces them with strength. PAUSE Soon the energy flame has danced and grown all through your core, radiating pure strength. PAUSE As it grows, there may be a part of you that is hesitant– a part of you questions just how strong you are. PAUSE The flame invites you to embrace all of you. It whispers within that you have incredible strength– strength beyond your imagination. PAUSE And as the flame shines, it gives off more power. You notice that its edges begin to change, to fan out in different directions. PAUSE The flame transforms slowly until you notice what appears to be wings opening on each side and the shape of a head. PAUSE After a moment, the shape evolves into a bird, a Phoenix, the bird of fire and power. PAUSE Now, imagine that this beautiful bird of fire, this bird of strength and energy enfolds all of you in its wings. PAUSE Then, slowly, you and the phoenix rise, lifting above the house into the night sky. PAUSE The air is cool, and you feel completely comfortable with this powerful energy carrying you higher. PAUSE Against the night sky, the fiery phoenix shines like a beacon of hope for you, glowing brighter than the moon and stars. PAUSE Then the phoenix pauses, and opens its wings. And as it does, you realize your arms are the fiery wings. You and the phoenix are one. PAUSE Suspended against backdrop of the night sky, you feel the blaze of energy, the strength and passion of the phoenix as it courses through you, empowering you. PAUSE And with this bold, new energy, You, the phoenix, glide back to your room, to a welcome bed. PAUSE As you land, the wings of fire fold inward, ready for you to call on them again, at any time. PAUSE You understand that you are a phoenix, with great strength and power, and you can rise from the ashes again and again. Nothing keeps you down. LONG PAUSE Your breathing naturally slows, and your body sinks gently into the folds of your bed. LONG PAUSE You keep breathing, becoming aware of your breath, and of the lightness of your body. It feels delicious. LONG PAUSE As you continue breathing slowly, comfortably, imagine yourself in a warm shower with the beads of water streaming down your back. PAUSE The watery massage relaxes you, and lets your mind, as well as your muscles, ease up naturally. PAUSE You put your head in the shower stream, and let the warm water droplets massage your scalp and neck. PAUSE After a few moments of relaxing in the steamy water, a vision appears. The steam of the shower transforms into mist of a forest. PAUSE You follow the mist in your vision, and it leads you to the edge of a lake. PAUSE Slowly, you tip your toe into the lake. The magical waters send healing ripples of energy Through you. PAUSE You descend into the lake, letting your body be enveloped in healing. PAUSE Each drop of water that touches you, renews you, restores your energy. PAUSE You gently roll onto your back, floating comfortably in the water. Your eyes scan the lush green forest circling the lake. You smile at the hidden gem of nature that has revealed itself to you. PAUSE Gazing up at the powdery blue sky, you see dozens of clouds like painted streams across a canvas. PAUSE Colorful birds fly in and out of the forest, chirping in joy and then soaring into the wispy clouds above. PAUSE A pink and green fish jumps, plopping into the water and sending bubbles to the surface like secret smoke signals. PAUSE In the distance, a mother deer and her fawn quietly lap up the water from the lake, then scamper off. PAUSE While floating on your back, you notice the sunlight filtering through the trees, each thread of light casting shadows of leaves and trees. PAUSE While gazing at the sunlight, two brown squirrels chase each other in the trees, causing the sunlight to shimmy and shake as it reflects. PAUSE Slowly, you paddle to the side of the lake where a large towel magically opens, waiting to embrace you. PAUSE The cushy towel folds around you, gently drying you and warming you, and you take moment to thank the lake and the forest for all their beauty. PAUSE You snuggle deep in the towel And close your eyes. When you open them again, you are home in your own bathroom wrapped in a towel. PAUSE And though your time at the forest lake has ended, the peace and beauty it brought rests comfortably inside you now and always. Allow yourself to feel gentle lull of magic as it relaxes and enlightens you. LONG PAUSE Stay with the feeling of magic, as a welcome spell of serenity is cast upon you. LONG PAUSE Draw in another breath, And as you do, visualize yourself on horseback, on a snow white stallion, trotting through the forest in spring. PAUSE After a few moments, the horse slows to a walk, and then stops, as if taking in all the life of the forest. PAUSE A canopy of trees seems to part and opens into a vibrant green clearing with a large rock positioned in the center. PAUSE The rock is heavy with gray and white notches and valleys carved around it. Tiny sprigs of grass grow at its base. PAUSE The rock is surrounded By people, Men and women dressed in gowns, suits of armor and even the clothes of peasants. PAUSE Then, you notice something odd. jutting up from the stone is a sword, a gleaming silver sword. PAUSE “Here ye, Here ye!” calls a man with a long dark beard. “Whosoever can removeth the sword, becomes the next ruler of the land.” PAUSE The man continues, “Only the bravest, wisest and most loyal and compassionate will be able to remove the sword.” PAUSE Still seated on your steed, you watch patiently, as many good men, and even women, go to the rock, grab the sword with white-knuckled hands, and try to withdraw it. But the sword would not budge. PAUSE After a while, you dismount from the horse, lead her by the reins to a tree, where you gently wrap the rein around the tree. You pet her nose lovingly, and rub her neck, Before moving closer to the crowd. PAUSE Three others try their luck, but still, no one has retrieved the sword. you draw in a breath, deep and low, and then step forward. PAUSE “You?” says the man with the beard. “Aye,” you reply with confidence. “Very well,” he says. PAUSE You draw in another deep, stabilizing breath and approach the rock. Placing your feet against the bottom of the rock, you reach up, and with both hands encircling the handle of the sword, you gently tug. PAUSE Every so gently, the sword releases a few inches. gasps and claps rise from the crowd. PAUSE You nod to the crowd, and the reposition your footing. again, you reach and pull the sword. Again, it moves, slowly at first, until the rock releases it like butter. PAUSE Cheers and claps erupt from the crowd, as you raise the sword above. There is a power in the sword, an energy of magic. And you know that this is now yours. PAUSE The man with a beard comes to shake your hand and to place a golden crown upon your head. But it is the sword’s magic, it’s promise of power for good that moves you most. PAUSE You bow to the crowd, and then find your horse, mount her, and ride toward the sun, with a crown upon your head, a powerful sword in your hand, and magic in your heart.
