Fri, 27 Sep 2024 - 1885 - Cat Lost In Yellowstone Travels 900 Miles To Reunite With Owners After Two Months
A feline named Rayne Beau, pronounced “rainbow”, is in the news, after the cat traveled almost 900 miles to get home after getting lost in Yellowstone National Park during a summer camping trip. Salinas couple Benny and Susanne Anguiano and their two cats arrived at Yellowstone by car on June 4th for the cats’ first trip to the forest. But soon after they arrived, Rayne Beau was startled and ran into the nearby trees. The couple looked for him for four days, even laying out his favorite treats and toys. When they finally had to drive back to Salinas, California, they thought they would never see him again. In August, the Anguianos received amazing news when a microchip company messaged them that their cat was found in Roseville, California, nearly 900 miles away from Yellowstone. The couple still doesn’t know how their cat managed to find its way to Roseville (now six pounds lighter) but believes he was trying to get home. They have reached out to the media hoping to fill in the blanks.

Wells Fargo Bank is no stranger to discreditable behavior, and their latest scandal is out of an office in Arizona, where an employee was found dead at her cubicle desk, going four days unnoticed. A Wells Fargo employee told local news that “Several people smelled a foul odor but passed it off as faulty plumbing.” Many feel that because the building has 24/7 security and cleaning staff, someone should have found the employee sooner. And we have the moment, the officer manager made the discovery.

Finally, some fun news out of Russia. A hoverboard-riding circus bear in Russia mauled its trainer in front of hundreds of watching children and parents. Terrifying footage captured the moment the 500 pound female bear got tired of riding the hoverboard, floored the trainer and pinned him to the ground as alarmed spectators looked on in horror. Thankfully, the trainer was rescued. And we have an eye witness statement from one of the Russian circus performers.

Scott Thorson, who dished on his romance with Liberace in his 1988 memoir "Behind the Candelabra" just a year after the famed pianist’s death, has died at the age of 65. Thorson died on August 16th, he'd been a patient at an L.A. healthcare facility, where he had been dealing with cancer and a heart condition. Thorson's memoir was turned into an HBO film, directed by Steven Soderbergh, starring Matt Damon as Thorson and Michael Douglas as Liberace.

Wed, 19 Jun 2024 - 1822 - Southwest Airplane Drops Quickly And Almost Hits Ocean
Well, a Boeing 737 Max 8 passenger jet operated by Southwest Airlines in April plummeted from about 1,000 feet off the coast of Kaua‘i near Līhuʻe Airport, coming within just 400 feet and a matter of only seconds from crashing into the ocean before its crew pulled the aircraft up, climbing rapidly, to avoid the almost disaster. The Federal Aviation Administration, after inquiries from Bloomberg News, is investigating the mishap that previously was unreported. It happened after adverse weather conditions forced pilots to abort landing at the Kaua‘i airport because pilots couldn’t see the runway. According to Southwest’s memo, it wasn’t a Boeing error during the storm, but rather the plane’s captain had put a less experienced first officer in command of the short flight. As the plunge began, a warning system began blaring, alerting the pilots that the aircraft was getting too close to the surface. That triggered an order from the captain to hike thrust, after which the plane climbed at an aggressive 8,500 feet per minute. Witnesses described it as a “roller coaster ride.”

Fri, 14 Jun 2024 - 1820 - Woman Gives Birth In Golden Corral Toilet
Well, a 26 year-old Arkansa woman and her family were visiting a Golden Corral restaurant when she told her family about some severe stomach pain she was having, so she headed to the bathroom. Apparently, she was 37 weeks pregnant and in active labor. The slim woman experienced a rare case of what is called a “cryptic pregnancy” (when a person is unaware they’re pregnant). Moments after paramedics arrived, the Golden Corral customer gave birth to a healthy 6 pound, 1 ounce, baby boy in the toilet. And the new mom named her baby after the franchise: Tamaar Kylon Corral Woodfork. And we actually have someone on staff that had a very similar experience.
