Reflect and Manifest Worksheet
Questions for Reflection:
Start by acknowledging you have already lived a big and brave life full of brave and bold choices. List 5 examples of brave and bold choices you’ve made over the years.
Now, let’s get real with ourselves—where are you playing small and why? The why is such an important question to ask yourself. When I did this exercise, I realized I was afraid of rejection even though I get rejected all day, every day, but those are low stakes areas for me. If I get rejected around high stakes things and feel like no one wants me for those things, it kind of unravels my purpose to a certain degree. And there was a part of me that was terrified to see or feel that. So I had to stare that in the face before I could really get delulu.
Now, let’s get delusional and grand. List out 10 BRAVE, BOLD MOVES you haven’t given yourself permission to make. What are some things that would just be audacious? Along the lines of DMing Lady Gaga.
What are the stories you tell yourself about why you can’t have these things? Maybe you’re telling yourself there are so many other people that could do the thing better, you’ll never get through to the people you want to, etc. Make a list and then see if you can reframe those stories. If you don’t, we’ll stay in our delulu smallness versus our delulu grandness.
Now, let’s get in action. Pick your top 3 brave, bold moves. What actions are you going to take to make them happen, and by when? Put these actions on your calendar, and enlist a friend to hold you accountable if you want to. Personally, I’ve been having delulu brainstorms with friends who are holding me accountable for these big actions. Send them receipts so they can see you made moves.

All change requires some level of courage, confidence, trust, and faith. But not all of us naturally feel confident. Some of that, particularly for historically excluded folks like women, POC, the LGBTQIA+ community, those with disabilities, those of varied sizes, and of varied immigration status, our confidence is often impacted by systemic oppression. I’ve got 10 hot tips for you!
In this episode, you will be able to:
Debunk the myth of imposter syndrome. Hint: it’s a major distraction.
Learn a step by step approach to building confidence over time.

Trust your gut and intuition. Your experience, your intelligence, and your instincts will lead you where you need to go. - Amina AlTai
82% of people will feel imposter syndrome in their lifetime, but we don't have to. If 82% of people feel it, it's impossible to believe that it's about individual inadequacy. I think it has much more to do with structural inequality. - Amina AlTai
We are enough. Focusing on our own alleged inadequacy is a distraction from the broken system. We need to focus less on fixing ourselves and more on shifting a broken world. Please let this be your invitation to galvanize your courage and confidence for something that lifts us all. - Amina AlTai

Tue, 30 May 2023 - 38min - 20 - EP 19: How to Pivot Your Career
Are you a career changer who feels lost in the process of pivoting your career? Have you heard these common myths that are holding you back?
Myth #1: You need to start from scratch. Myth #2: You can't switch industries. Myth #3: You have to take a pay cut.Let’s debunk those right now.
In this episode of the Amina Change Your Life podcast, I explore the principles of a powerful career pivot. I stress the importance of living directionally (a la Megan Hellerer), seeking clarity and information at each step of the journey. I highlight the significance of making small changes every day to avoid overwhelm and impulsivity. I encourage listeners to examine their fears and not let it hold them back from taking action. By taking things step by step and seeking clarity and information along the way, we can overcome barriers and move in the direction of personal and professional fulfillment.
In this episode, you will be able to:
Grasp the value of defining unearthing your purpose and creating a criteria for your next-level dream.
Make peace with non-linear and unconventional career journeys and learn to adapt to evolving circumstances.
Adopt the practice of making minor daily tweaks to witness exponential growth.
Face and dismantle the fears and cognitive distortions stifling your potential and growth.

Quotes
“We are always right on time for our lives.” - Amina AlTai
“Before you leap into something entirely new, I want you to go inward and start to follow the breadcrumbs of your purpose.” - Amina AlTai
“Most of us have not chosen our careers consciously. We choose them based on the imprints of families, of cultures, subcultures, media, or sometimes even reactions.” -Amina AlTai
“I just want to underscore that you are absolutely not a failure. You have not gone down the wrong path. You are not off track. I don't believe that we're ever off track. We're simply clarifying our next move.” -Amina AlTai
“I find this whole judgment about where individuals should be at a certain stage of their life ridiculous. Only the soul knows the path it's here to walk, what it has to overcome, which achievements to measure its progress by. Nobody knows why we're here except you. You're the only one that can find that. People judge as though they have it all figured out, but their judgments are often just a smokescreen for their own confusion. Are we late bloomers or on time growers? This is a personal decision. The important thing is that we keep on walking towards a place that feels like home.” - Jeff Brown

Tue, 18 Apr 2023 - 20min - 14 - Ep 13: Economic Justice and Building an Economically Just Business Model with Kelly Diels
When Kelly Diels, a feminist entrepreneur, faced an internal crisis of having to use business tactics in direct conflict with her principles, she had to find a creative way to do business in a way that honored her values, her team, and the collective.
Kelly is a feminist educator, writer, and coach specializing in feminist marketing for culture makers. She works to raise awareness about how business-as-usual formulas reproduce oppression and develops alternate feminist marketing tools to help us do better.
A feminist since she was eleven, Kelly went on to study political philosophy, so when she became an entrepreneur, she immediately realized the conflict between her personal beliefs and the business tactics she was being taught. After a personal breakdown and going through a start-stop cycle of trying to build something that was in conflict with her values, she realized that economic justice meant everyone in the equation needed to be flourishing. She now works with people who have non dominant identities to help them understand and navigate the conditioning and trauma that comes up when challenging the status quo. Kelly believes that tending to one's emotions and nervous system is essential for success.
In this episode, you will learn the following:
1. How to Balance Principles and Business Tactics to Achieve Success
2. What is Economic Justice, and How to Create It in Businesses
3. How Economic Justice Helps Everyone Thrive
4. Kelly’s Three-Part Framework for Economic Justice
5. What Strategies are Needed to Create Demand and Generate Leads as Culture-Makers
[2:10] How Kelly came to this work
[4:23] Why many teaching methods don’t work for every identity

[9:56] Making the numbers work
[11:28] Cultural conditioning and how doing the math supports our nervous system
[14:14] The power of somatic practices and therapy
[17:17] Money and feelings of survival

[31:21] The power of community care
[35:24] How employees can be participants in economic justice
[38:54] How culture makers and historically excluded folks can leverage their ambition to pave the way
Quotes
"If you have a non-dominant identity and you're supposed to be signaling authority, you're going to get punished for that online. So what I think economic justice is, is that every human has the resources they need to flourish."
“Vulnerability is the opportunity for relationship. We have to show each other our needs to actually be in loving relationships.”

Quotes
“People pleasing is often a trauma response. It's what we've done in the family system to stay safe, to stay lovable, to not be abandoned. And you and I are both Arab. A lot of Arab cultures are collective cultures, right? Collective culture and codependent culture can sit side by side because oftentimes, we are told to defer to our elders or it's really patriarchal. So we're taught oftentimes to abandon ourselves or to put others first. There's this big, huge reclamation that's happening for you that's saying, no more.”
“87% of women actually ascribe genius, brilliance, ambition to men, and think of it as a male trait.”
“What I'm hearing is breaking the cultural stereotypes in design. And you know how big that is? There are stereotypes everywhere in design. You get out on stage or on Instagram, and you talk about that, your books will be full.”
