Edward Lionheart (Vincent Price) is incensed that his last season of performances in Shakespearean plays did not win him a prestigious acting award from critics. After an unsuccessful attempt at suicide, Lionheart is rescued by a group of drug-addicted bums. He then sets out to murder all of his critics, each with a different style of death taken from a Shakespeare play. When Lionheart faces head critic Peregrine Devlin (Ian Hendry), he offers Devlin a second chance to bestow the award.

Jeff & Mike kick off their Spooky Season Series with Soviet film "Viy" from 1967 starring ⁠Leonid Kuravlyov and ⁠⁠Natalya Varley.⁠ A young priest is ordered to preside over the wake of witch in a small old wooden church of a remote village. This means spending three nights alone with the corpse with only his faith to protect him.

Viy (Spirit of Evil⁠) ⁠is a 1967 Soviet ⁠horror film⁠ directed by Konstantin Yershov and Georgi Kropachyov. Based on the ⁠story of the same name⁠ by ⁠Nikolai Gogol⁠, the film's screenplay was written by Yershov, Kropachyov and ⁠Aleksandr Ptushko⁠. The film was the first Soviet-era horror film to be officially released in the USSR.

Jeff, Kim, & Mike conclude their "Summer Swim Series" with a review of the grandest of sea terrors - JAWS.  It's a 1975 horror/thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg. It stars Roy Scheider as police chief Martin Brody, who, with the help of a marine biologist (Richard Dreyfuss) and a professional shark hunter (Robert Shaw), hunts a man-eating great white shark that attacks beachgoers at a summer resort town.

Horror Express Summary (Rotten Tomatoes): Alexander Saxton (Christopher Lee), a brilliant British anthropologist researching in the Russian Far East, boards the Trans-Siberian Express with his latest discovery, a frozen specimen he hopes to prove is the missing link. Jeff & Kim review Tremors from 1990.  Bonus review:  Crossroads from 1986.  

Tremors is a 1990 American western-themed monster horror comedy film directed by Ron Underwood, produced by Brent Maddock, and S. S. Wilson, and written by Maddock, Wilson, and Underwood. Tremors was released by Universal Pictures and stars Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Finn Carter, Michael Gross, and Reba McEntire.  In the film, handymen Val McKee (Bacon) and Earl Bassett (Ward) try to skip the small desert town of Perfection, Nevada, tired of their dull lives. However, they happen upon a series of mysterious deaths and a concerned seismologist Rhonda (Carter) studying unnatural readings below the ground. Jeff & Kim review slasher-lite "I Know What You Did Last Summer" from 1997.  Kim also educates us on another British crime drama from the BBC called Whitechapel, in which detectives in London's Whitechapel district deal with murders which replicate historical crimes.  Jeff also admits his favorite brain-off TV show is the Bob Barker-era of The Price is Right, which has a dedicated channel on PlutoTV.  

I Know What You Did Last Summer is a 1997 American slasher film directed by Jim Gillespie, written by Kevin Williamson, and starring Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Ryan Phillippe and Freddie Prinze Jr. It is loosely based on the 1973 novel of the same name by Lois Duncan and is the first installment in the I Know What You Did Last Summer franchise. The film centers on four young friends who are stalked by a hook-wielding killer one year after covering up a car accident in which they killed a man. Jeff & Kim are joined by Mike as a guest host to review the 1978 film "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."  They also discuss the films "Top Gun" and "Top Gun: Maverick," as well recent TV shows "The Essex Serpent" and "Annika."

Invasion of the Body Snatchers is a 1978 American science-fiction horror film[3] directed by Philip Kaufman and starring Donald Sutherland, Brooke Adams, Veronica Cartwright, Jeff Goldblum, and Leonard Nimoy. Released on December 22, 1978, it is based on the 1955 novel The Body Snatchers by Jack Finney. The novel was previously adapted into the 1956 film of the same name. The plot involves a San Francisco health inspector and his colleague who over the course of a few days discover that humans are being replaced by alien duplicates; each is a perfect copy of the person replaced, but devoid of human emotion.

It stars Bruce Willis, Gary Oldman, and Milla Jovovich. The Birds is a 1963 American natural horror-thriller film produced and directed by Alfred Hitchcock. Jeff & Kim review the Vincent Price/Nancy Kovack horror film "Diary of a Madman" from 1963.  Overview: An evil spirit leaves the body of his human host, a criminal on death-row, and sneaks into the body of his next human host, a French magistrate.

Directed by Reginal Le Borg.  The screenplay, written by producer Robert Kent, is an adaptation of Guy de Maupassant's short story "Le Horla" ("The Horla") written in 1887.  Jeff covers the poem referenced in the film, "A Woman" by Heinrich Heine and Kim covers the original short story.   The pair also briefly talk about El Santo, Mystery Science Theater, and Ted Lasso.

Jeff & Kim discuss Swamp Thing,a 1982 American superhero horror film written and directed by Wes Craven, based on the Vertigo/DC Comics character of the same name created by Len Wein and Bernie Wrightson. It tells the story of scientist Alec Holland (Ray Wise) who becomes transformed into the monster known as Swamp Thing (Dick Durock) through laboratory sabotage orchestrated by the evil Anton Arcane (Louis Jourdan). Jeff & Kim review High Spirits, a 1988 horror comedy film written and directed by Neil Jordan and starring Steve Guttenberg, Daryl Hannah, Beverly D'Angelo, Liam Neeson and Peter O'Toole.  Set in a remote Irish castle called Dromore Castle, Co. Limerick, High Spirits is a topsy-turvy comedy with thematic leanings towards Ireland's rich folklore regarding ghosts and spirits, where the castle starts to come to life.

Jeff & Kim discuss baby goats and favorite bands named after movie references.  They then review 1963's horror classic "Black Sabbath."

Black Sabbath,directed by Mario Bava, consists of three separate tales that are introduced by Boris Karloff. The order in which the stories are presented varies among the different versions in which the film has been released. In the original, Italian print, the first story, titled "The Telephone", involves Rosy (Michèle Mercier) who continually receives threatening telephone calls from an unseen stalker. The second is "The Wurdulak", where a man named Gorca (Karloff) returns to his family after claiming to have slain a Wurdulak, an undead creature who attacks those that it had once loved. The third story, "The Drop of Water", is centered on Helen Corey (Jacqueline Pierreux), a nurse who steals a ring from a corpse that is being prepared for burial and finds herself haunted by the ring's original owner after arriving home.
