Announcements from BMW on their rates for monthly vehicle add-ons and Gates Automotive and their employees commit over $82k in donations towards local charities during the upcoming year..

BMW recently made an announcement regarding their rates for monthly vehicle add-ons. The German automaker has unveiled a new pricing structure for their line of cars that offers customers a variety of options to customize their vehicles. Customers can now choose from a range of features such as advanced safety technology, engine performance upgrades with protection, and luxury other amenity related services. The company stated that these add-ons will be available for a monthly fee, making it easier for customers to enjoy the latest and greatest features without having to make a large upfront payment. BMW's new pricing model is designed to provide customers with more flexibility and convenience when it comes to upgrading their vehicles.

Gates Automotive is pleased to announce that its employees have pledged to donate $53,481 to seven local charities in 2023 through its annual giving campaign, Gates Giving. The campaign, which is voluntary for employees to participate in, has over 150 participants this year. The chosen charities include the United Way, Center for Hospice Care, Michiana Down Syndrome Resource Center, The Crossing Education Center, Reins of Life Therapeutic Horseback Riding, Little Wish Foundation, and Heroes Camp Youth Organization.

Motor Trend has named the 2022 Ford F150 Lightning as the truck of the year. This marks the first time that an electric vehicle has received this accolade. The F150 Lightning is a highly anticipated addition to the Ford lineup, and it has impressed critics with its performance and capabilities.

Wells Fargo, one of the largest banks in the United States, has recently come under fire for illegally targeting 16 million consumers. This misconduct, which involved the illegal foreclosure of homes and repossession of vehicles, has resulted in the bank being fined a total of $4.7 billion. This fine, which was levied by both federal and state authorities, is one of the largest ever imposed on a financial institution.

United States Postal Service (USPS) has announced a plan to invest $9.6 billion in electric vehicles (EVs) in order to modernize its fleet and reduce its carbon footprint. This will account for between 10 and 15% of their current fleet; this is expected to be live by 2028.

In Florida, a homeowner is being pursued by his homeowner's association (HOA) for parking his electric Rivian truck in his driveway. The HOA has raised concerns about the homeowner parking a Truck in the driveway. The homeowner, however, argues that he has the right to park the vehicle on his own property.

In our 2nd episode of Season 2, we discuss General Motors' plans to build a new battery facility and the recent $1.25 million fine issued to an auto dealership in New Hampshire.

General Motors has announced plans to construct a new battery manufacturing facility, which will be dedicated to the production of electric vehicle batteries. The facility is expected to create over 1,600 jobs and will play a key role in GM's efforts to increase its production of electric vehicles. One of the top location contenders is New Carlisle, IN–just west of South Bend.

In other news, an auto dealership in New Hampshire was recently fined $1.25 million for violating consumer protection laws. The dealership was found to have engaged in deceptive advertising practices and charged consumers undisclosed fees.

GM's robo-taxis will be equipped with a safety driver to ensure the safety of passengers and will be available to book through a mobile app.

Volkswagen, on the other hand, has made a major commitment to electric vehicles, with the goal of becoming a leader in the electric car market. However, VW is delaying its “all-in” investment in electric vehicle technology and infrastructure until approximately 2024 or 2025 due to supply chain costs and constraints.
