A self proclaimed black sheep of the family, Adrain went to great lengths to separate himself from his father and two older brothers who dominated the world of graphic design in Manchester, England. Unfortunately, Adrian was unsuccessful in doing so only to find himself as distant as making interior photography his primary calling card, but becoming more well known than his father and siblings for his graphic design work. A world traveler with blue chip clients like Apple and Victoria Secret, Adrain would move to New York and later find himself as a single father in the grips of raising two teenagers. Oh yeah, he's also a well-known guerrilla street artist.

Raised in New Brunswick, Canada, Emily Rodger is a former two time World Champion cyclist, Ironman world qualifier, author and public speaker. She is also a lover of fly fishing and baking cookies. Following two major bike accidents where she was struck by a car both times and sustained significant injuries including a brain injury, Emily shares her stories of growing up as a little girl hiding in the shadows and later emerging as a top competitor and world class athlete only to find out that this path was not what happiness was all about. Michael Tatarski is a freelance journalist living in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Inspired and motivated by getting exposed to Vietnam via Anthony Bourdain's show No Reservation, a twenty-three year old Michael would decide to head for Southeast Asia in search of a new adventure. Planning on only being away from the States for one year, Michael would as so many do, get certified and begin teaching English to support himself. Almost three years ago to the day, he and Marla Estes joined me in my apartment studio in Ashland Oregon to talk about the work they were doing to Bridge The Divide between the Left and the Right. Gareth and I met on the way to a professional networking event in District 2 (Saigon) where we both found ourselves at the wrong venue. I offered him a ride to the correct venue and that's where our conversation started. Gareth has his PhD in Behavioral Science which is a long road from his professional beginnings in the stationery business. After realizing corporate life was not for him he transitioned into the music business where he found his niche bringing bands to New Zealand. I've known Molly B. since 1993 when she joined my talent placement agency, Aardvark located in Southern California hoping to land some freelance writing or illustration opportunities. I don't think I was able to come through for her on that, but we did strike up a great friendship that has lasted until now. Coincidentally, I moved to Ashland, Oregon in 2002 which is very close to the area where Molly grew up in Southern Oregon. I met Conner Smith in 2019 at his parent's sweet shop Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory located just below my apartment in downtown Ashland, Oregon. We swiftly hit it off and I found myself spending more time than I could have possibly have imagined visiting Conner at work and sharing stimulating conversations. Upon reaching eighteen, Conner dropped out of high school to complete the task on his own supported by his parents. Upon completion, Conner departed for Thailand to reunite with his girlfriend. Influenced by the alternative movement of the mid to late nineties by bands like Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana and Bush, Nick would begin to write about his feelings and the lives and experiences of others who would cross his path. After deciding that anthropology was not going to be his future, Nick began to take classes in business while engineering and self producing his songs out of a demo studio in a friend's garage. Later, he would meet the infamous music producer Sylvia Massy who would provide him with a professional space to craft his music under the name Relevant Discord. Bishop Mayfield was born in Harlem, New York right after WWII where he would experience some of the same intolerance and racism still strong in American culture today. Curtis Smith knew exactly what he wanted to do with his life after his teacher Phil West led Curtis through a control room full of recording gear. Love at first sight. This took Curtis on a path that would lead him from an internship at American records where he folded press releases and ran errands to finally landing the dream gig at Interscope Records where he began to work side-by-side with some of the biggest names in the music business. Curtis has spent his life in service of recording artists the likes of Johnny Cash, Marilyn Manson and No Doubt. In the hay day of the late nineties Curtis helped launch and develop many household named acts while creating his own public relations firm called Maelstrom PR which is still going strong today. I also check in with my dad for the first time since coming to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Long time friend Gary Kout talks about producing projects with the incredibly talented team of Drea Cooper and Zackary Canepari on their latest award winning Netfix Original documentary film project, Fire In Paradise about the devastating wildfire that leveled the town of Paradise in Northern California just over one year ago. As a twenty one year veteran police officer with the Ashland Police Department, Bon Stewart has seen his fair share of why we need to start paying close attention to people who are suffering on the streets with mental illness and begin to rehabilitate versus incarceration. Although raised in a conservative home, Annie's uniqueness was appreciated and nurtured by her parents. Annie managed to receive an unconventional educational experience that propelled her into a career in news broadcasting right here in Ashland, Oregon where Annie found her like minded community. This long lasting career was followed by over two decades of dedication to serving her community in marketing and operations at The Ashland Food Cooperative.

She's been the lead singer for the band The Rogue Suspects for the past decade starting her long relationship on her twitchy first birthday when she wowed the band members after an impromptu performance following an open invitation to the watychig crowd. Shae expanded her musical offerings to include being an acclaimed ensemble stage actress and singer performing in numerous plays at the Cabaret Theater in Ashland, Oregon. She is a delightfully positive person with a glowing personality. Everyone in Ashland knows and is as well as being a hardcore vegan.

Long-time friend hailing from Baltimore, Jimmy Kolker talks about going from the family lumber industry and run-ins with his father to running a highly successful spa in Ashland, Oregon called The Blue Giraffe before retiring to a life of travel, riding horses, painting and his grandchildren. Jimmy also recounts getting out of the draft by dropping acid and acting crazy and being chased by the mounted police is a Vietnam War protest in the streets of downtown Cleveland, Ohio after the bombing of Cambodia. He's got a million stories and we could have chatted a lot longer. I also talk to friend Ruth Kennedy about her involvement with The Equator Foundation in Ashland, Oregon, a non-profit organization that rescues abused horses and provides a safe and healthy environment for them to live out the rest of their lives.

Aaron Birdsall of the band Flying Mammals shares stories of growing up in a family band and being part of a musical family. Aaron also recounts some of his experiences of being unfulfilled as a male nurse in the military then finally deciding to do his music full-time with the support of his wife and family. Aaron and his brothers are all very talented musicians and songwriters who continue to make music and put our albums. Not unlike, many of my other musical guests, the Flying Mammals band caught the attention of friend and world class record producer, Sylvia Massy who went on to produce their album, Vier.

Ahhhh Gloria. This lovely friend talks about growing up in Hawaii and her love of her family, being healthy and selling pure essential oils. I discovered Gloria in the early two thousands when she was touring around Ashland, Oregon with a trio of belly dancers. I could not take my eyes off of her. Years later, I would be invited by her to photograph her wedding. She makes a killer tamale and spends most of her time raising her children and bringing her deep knowledge of essential oils to the people to improve the quality of their lives. So fun to hang out with.

Long-time friend and former across the street neighbor, Scott Balcom talks about being one of the founding fathers of the Slackline movement with his fifty five foot walk twenty four hundred feet above the valley floor as he bravely walked a one inch wide piece of nylon across the Spire at Yosemite National Park. Scott has written a book, invented a slack line tool and raised a find young man in his son Adom. Scott continues his career as a contractor while spending time in his workshop creating mind bending pieces of sculpture that defy common thinking around the physical world. he is a true genius who loves to grow a bit of cannabis and relax with his guitar. A brother from another mother for sure.

Close friend and former bandmate, Robbie and I discuss how science can save the world and how he personally can make his own tome machine and vehicles that fly. An incredible singer, songwriter and guitar player, Robbie is one of the smartest people I know. I'm pretty sure that we solved all the world's problems in under two hours. This was his second appearance on the show.

At only eighteen years old after dropping out of school early, Flora Chipowsky excels as a very talented digital illustrator bringing her imagination to life in beautifully illustrated Monga style images. being raised by an open minded mother who sees Flora for who she really is, Flora ventures out in the world facing incredible odds with challenging health issues that bind her while desperately wanting to explore her creativity and become a successful artist. Her road has been paved with great challenges, but she has persevered and continues to point herself in the direction of happiness. A sweet young lady who knows what she wants and is willing to do what it takes to get it.

A life filled early on with challenging times, Greg goes beyond what is presented to him and uses every ounce of his energy to live life at its fullest with his family, his music and his real estate business. A real nice guy with a big heart who has been humbled by life. Greg goes into great detail about living homeless in the Santa Cruz mountains where he would find his community and slowly transition back into the life he would create for himself going from the hotel business into real estate. His journey has been filled with pain ranging from the loss of his father to difficulties in his marriage not to mention that he also suffers from the debilitating neurological disorder Fibromyalgia. Much of his experience comes through in his music. The project is called Saint Sebastian.

It's the Weed Show! Mandy and I smoke out together for a few hours and talk about all kinds of stuff that mostly makes sense (to us). This was her second appearance on the show. Mandy is an incredible woman who is deeply rooted in her Native American heritage and willing to throw down to ensure the respect her people and culture deserve. She is a mother, wife, activist and community leader with a big heart and strong mind. Mandy previously worked as a reporter for The Daily Tidings covering much of The Rogue Valley. She was generous enough to invite me to work the camera when she interviewed Weird Al Yankovic before his show at the Ginger Roger's Theater in Medford, Oregon. Oh yeah we dated for a minute too.

I basically stalked this incredible looking eighteen year old Allison Smith for a year at the Dutch Bros. coffee drive through trying to convince her to allow me to photograph her. After seeing me around town and my persistence, she finally agreed which turned into her becoming my photo studio assistant that blossomed into the beautiful friendship that is still thriving and growing. Allison (LSN) recently released her EP, The Wren while living the unconventional life of a musician during these very odd times in the middle of a global pandemic. She talks about her father raising her in the music business and how she remains positive and focused on her music and inspiring others. pt find their passion.

A ripping great guitar player, singer/songwriter and former band mate, Jeff Stanley talks about an accident playing soccer that would change the course of his life and put him on one of the coolest venues in Southern Oregon opening for Peter Frampton and Buddy Guy. Jeff also recounts a story about auditioning for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, getting a call back and turning it down because of a gig. Jeff is a deeply religious guy with a heart of gold. He gives guitar lessons in Ashland, Oregon to those fortunate enough to discover the opportunity. It was an honor to make music with him.

Son of famed motorcycle Baja 500 racer Neil Fergus, Doug would grow up steeped in motorcycle life and also race as a youth. Doug began his music career in 1982 with the Los Angeles band, Split Image and was signed to Allied Artists Records. In 2012 his band Naked in Public opened for Cyndi Lauper at the Britt Festival in Oregon. I was the drummer in that band. Most of his professionally released songs were recorded and produced by legendary producer Sylvia Massy (Red Hot Chile Peppers, Prince, Tom Petty, Johnny Cash). Doug has been inspired by some of his favorite comedians and musicians: Jonathan Winters, George Carlin, Steve Martin, Robin Williams, the Talking Heads, Devo, Weird Al Yankovic, Warren Zevon and Frank Zappa.

Raised in Germany, Johan would leave at only eighteen years old to escape difficult times and seek out a life of freedom in the US. Arriving in New York with only a few dollars, he would be taken in by a caring family who would steer him in the direction of Oregon. Johan spent much of his life in Ashland starting in high school. An eccentric artistic spirit who has left an indelible mark on the Ashland community. Johan would own and operate a controversial art gallery Nuandart stirring the pot as well as sporting his unusual collection of automobiles ranging from an old fire engine and ambulance to his flame throwing firebirbird with steer horns on the roof. A well known participant in the Burningman project for over two decades, Johan was one of the pioneers in the dome building business who provided domes all over the world through his company Dome Guys.

Long time Ashland, Oregon resident Jerry Solomon talks about his life challenges growing up as the only Jewish family living in a cornfield community. An article was written in the local paper about his family. Soon after the release of the article, Jerry would be horrified with the response by school mates who would call him a "dirty Jew" and throw rocks at him. At the time, he was so young that he did not understand the behavior and found himself running home and asking his parents why this was happening to him. Jerry didn't even know he was Jewish until the article came out. Jerry, who was a trained freelance graphic designer working in Ashland, talks about giving up his career and going into developing electric bicycles then later opening Ashland Electric Bike's in Ashland.

This show is me in the taxi (Crater Lake Taxi) picking up and dropping off PCT (Pacific Creat Trail) Hikers from the trail head up by Ashland Mountain (Calahan's Lodge) and bringing them down into Ashland for their well deserved break before continuing on their quest on the trail to Canada. Many fun stories and trail names.

A veteran of the Vietnam War, T-Poe spent most of his days and nights recounting his horrific experience by pouring his soul into creating memory filled poetry. T-Poe's deeply moving stories of the war speak of the nightmare of losing his friends, the violence of war and his tortured mind that had to wrap itself around a life of delivering death and destruction. A true celebrity and beloved and revered member of the Ashland Community, T-Poe created a very successful Poetry Slam series in the Rogue Valley with the goal of encouraging young people to explore their feelings and creativity through writing and performing their poetry in front of welcoming audiences. Sadly, T-Poe passed away from complications with lung cancer on March 2, 2020. He will be missed.

Dear, sweet Acacia Land. One of the most influential people in my after forty life in Ashland, Oregon. I first saw this angel of light pushing a stroller down the street shortly after moving to Ashland in 2002. I vowed to request that she allow me to photograph her should we come into close contact. That day came after I began selling my photography at the Lithia Artisan's Market later that year. This beacon of hope continually challenged and tormented by life's many challenges he has opted for a path of healing and peace for all of us in her selfless quest to save people from themselves. I've been in love with Acacia since the day I slayed eyes on her and am eternally grateful for her unconditional love and passion for life.

Mike Fitzgerald, a very colorful character and twenty five year veteran high school theater teacher, grew up on the streets of Jersey and can sound the part at will. As a young boy, Mike was heavily exposed to theater and the arts by his godfather. He lived six blocks from Yankee Stadium and was a huge Yankees fan. He talks about pocketing his lunch money and skipping class to catch a game with his idol Micky Mantle. Mike's passion has been teaching and he has been touted and recognized as one of the premiere high school theater teachers in The Rogue Valley. Mike is no stranger to to both acting and story telling as he has had many of his short stories published in a variety of magazines around the country and played a variety of parts in film and television. He has a fantastic presence and is always willing to lend a hand. Mile is happily married to a wonderful woman and lives a pretty great life in Ashland, Oregon as a substitute teacher. He has some great stories to share on the show. I'm honored to be considered his friend.

Sarah Burns is a self taught painter who later in life found her passion and took to it like a fish in water,A now very successful artist living in Southern Oregon, Sarah enjoys her family life and operating a small studio and gallery on Talent, Oregon. Her painting style is distinct and is mainly images of Southern Oregon and the surrounding areas. She teaches classes at Ashland's Art Center and makes no bones about doing things her own way. She's painted tow portraits of me which was an incredible opportunity to spend a lot of time together and enjoy each others company. I'm happy to know Sarah and be a part of her painting experience.
