Is it fair to say the illusion of social media is over in the sense that we don't want another well-hooked promise... we want insight, we want inspiration, we want connection?
More than any big sales page offer, testimonial proof or clever marketing hook, don't we want to feel like we're on the journey with someone we can trust, that we're following someone who shares genuine insights that can help us move forward, like there's somewhere we can go to get back on track when we feel lost or uninspired?
We don't want the sales page promise, we want to follow a person of substance right? Someone we can trust. Someone who shares true insights from the journey and the market. Someone we can even lean on in tough times.
Being this person of substance is what I'm talking about in today's episode, along with two other vital strategies for building community, audience and business in 2025.

Fri, 06 Sep 2024 - 24min - 100 - everyone said 'sales are down' and I had one of my best months yet!
I’ve just come back from a massive summer of selling, and it was helped by two things:
(1) I got married and took a week off, so I had to do more in less time to be fully present at my wedding; and,
(2) everyone was reporting 'sales are down, sales are down' but people were looking to me for how to make sales.
It’s a topic no one wants to get into publicly but behind the scenes, soooo many of my client calls are about turning on sales in online businesses.
So, I didn’t even really have the answer. I mean, I did - I know how to sell and what it takes but it felt like this summer, something else was needed...something a little more extra haha.
I reminded myself of two laws that have always served me:
(1) I never got more by doing less - so do more Lisa: explosive action, explosive energy, explosive service; and,
(2) If I put myself out there fully - in heart and spirit and honesty - I would be supported and good things would happen: so turn up and serve Lisa. Go be useful to future clients!
So, I cranked up the content. But, because I didn’t have time to get all my gear out, film, edit and produce, I just filmed stuff live and then reposted that content.
I uploaded an Instagram live, called ‘how to make sales over summer’ (you might have seen it as '100 sales attempts'), to YouTube and to Facebook and my podcast and my site and then emailed it to everyone too.
Then I got clever and spent £100 on ads boosting it to strangers who are most like my current audience and it reached another 60,000 people.
That was pretty cool.
I sent mailers off the cuff, which I typed on my phone...at the gym or on a dog walk.
I made more content for social, scheduled it and sent it. But it wasn’t all Reels for reach. It was stuff I knew my small, current community would see and like. A lot of it came from membership content, insights from client calls and clips from the live I did.
I said yes to speaking at a rather large summer summit (shout out to Jacky who turned up BIG over summer!), even though I really didn’t have the time lol. And I announced a new webinar called ‘Mentor Vibes’, which I made the slides for the day before (because it was literally all so new!) and filmed it live with everyone on the call.
I also finished my '£99 marketing to sell' course, which gave me the perfect 'attraction event' to rave about, so went nuts on telling people about that too haha.
Sales exploded!!!
I sold my £7 guide and my £99 micro course on marketing and won new clients for my £900 hyper focused coaching offer and Straight Line Through (£996) and I’ve got so many people interested in cohort 2 of SLT. It’s madness. But equally it’s not! Because…
💡 If you show up more, with more value, to more people, of course you create more opportunity.
💡 If you run webinars on novel things that are working for you and turn up generously with real knowledge, tactics and energy, of course more people lean into you.
💡 If you say yes and figure it out on the go, of course you’ll fit it in and honour your promises.
💡 If you trust the magic and purpose within you and open the gates and let it out, of course you’ll be of service and magic will take hold of you and the whole situation.
But, I have to say, there was something that made all the difference. Like, it all mashed together to give me the win but when I think about what really made the difference, it’s this:
Authentic vibes: reach: depth: offer.
I showed up as myself and I went a bit mad. I let my full self out to play. Not everyone wanted that energy but those who did welcomed it fully. They wanted it and they needed it. (That's the authentic vibes bit.)
I used free and paid content to get reach. Getting into other people’s fabulous networks was a win too!
Long format, long format, long format. This is the depth bit! Make a live and share it, run a webinar and teach, give people real strategy, real insights, real guidance. Go deep and truly create transformation up front.
Pitch!!! (The offer bit.) I did that webinar and sold my heart out at the end, but in succchh a chill way. I sold my stuff for the people who wanted to work with me and went into the details, but said to those who didn’t “that’s the end of the content if you don’t want to hear the pitch”. Or something like that. And I sold it.
All this to say…
You don't get more from doing less. At this stage, for most business owners, it is explosive action, explosive energy, explosive service that will give you the explosive result.

Masculine energy creates the safety and carves out the time our feminine energy needs in order to breathe into our art.
When people aren't making progress in their business, we can say they're stuck and don't know what to try next, they're overwhelmed by all the jobs on their list, they have a subconscious block that's causing them to self-sabotage, they're exhausted from all the effort (burnt out) or the classic: I just don't have time.
This can all be true.
But you know what else might be true?
They might be excellent at feminine flow and terrible at masculine container.
Or the other way around.
The feminine flow is the unfolding of the work, the flow. It's you being you. It's you enjoying being alive. It's the intuition on what to do. It's the very act of creating in pure joy. For me, it's the silence of the day.
The masculine container is the goal, the allocated time, the deadline and the security. It says: "You're safe, go ahead". For me, it's time in my diary, allocated to work on something I care about.
When you realise both are needed to be successful you can start to look at what you're good at and where you need to put a little more focus.
For example, setting the alarm and getting up with purpose is your masculine energy. Enjoying a slow breakfast, walking the dog in peace (listening to the birds and enjoying nature), then sitting down to create without pressure is your feminine energy.
Likewise, making a to do list is masculine energy. Journalling to clear your thoughts is feminine energy. Putting allocated time in your diary is masculine energy. Enjoying your spontaneity in that time is your feminine energy.
If you're overwhelmed by all the things on your list, you never have time to create your art or or you're afraid you won't make it through the month, you need to learn how to master your masculine energy to give yourself security, to provide focus, to ring fence time for your important art.
If you're lost in mindless tasks, your nervous system feels totally overstimulated, you feel angry and irritable and burnt out by the end of the day, you need to learn how to give room to your feminine energy to offload the deadlines, to sit in your own energy and to make time for you, to make your art, to soak up the healing vibes of nature. This is the topic of today's episode. It's actually taken from last month's membership content on how to balance masculine and feminine energies to bring your work to the world.

From the messy start to the polished commercial finish, all art must be created and then curated in order to be seen and appreciated.
And we want our art to be seen don't we? We want our videos to be watched and our books to be read.
Therefore, as purpose-driven creators, entrepreneurs and artists we must separate the ideas of the messy artful start and the commercial polished finish. In the beginning just write, make, create, share.
As the idea develops and you start to give it shape, consider who might appreciate this and how you can package it up and position it to HELP THEM FIND IT.
That's all this is - it's playing the game to help someone find you and your work so that it can move them, help them, inspire them.

You know, the memory of who you 'are' is so much more powerful than the identity of the person you're trying to become simply because it has more evidence and has been 'true' for longer.
In trying to change your life and get a new result in your business, you have to let go of the memory of who you thought you were and allow yourself to consider a new identity and narrative...every single day.
Look around you right now...
The room you're in is telling you who you are.
The worries / dreams you woke up with are telling you who you are.
The clothes you're wearing today are telling you who you are.
Even the emails you receive are telling you who you are.
They all support a narrative. And you believe that narrative so much, you act it out and act within its framework every day.
Even if you have a vision board, or list out your goals or are going to the gym to hype yourself up, underneath all of this, two things remain true:
(1) You must fill the void your yearning created in order to get the result - we do this by looking for ways to feel good and taking creative action; and,
(2) You must remove the narrative that is sabotaging your result on loop, without needing the poor result to flip the script! Oh my!
In today's episode, I want to do something a little bit different. I want to explain to you what I know about the three levels of manifestation, one of them being 'grit work', I want to show you how to measure the strength of your intention by the actions you're taking, and I want you to get honest about your next move.
Look, for a long time I've found it hard to balance the narratives of manifestation and hard work. I don't like it when someone focuses exclusively on one end of the spectrum when they both have a place. The key, it turns out, isn't in how they're different, but in how they're the same.
If you wake up with positive expectation that good things are coming your way and use your own unique edge to actually create something magical in the world, you're well on your way. The only things left to do are to fill any void of yearning and remove the block that sabotages the result when it comes and you're there.
I want to formalise this process for you today and help you find more reasons to believe in your vision and take bolder, truer action towards it. Manifestation and work come hand in hand. They're friends, not enemies.

(1) List your project in order of importance.
(2) Create 'containers' that make you produce key outcomes because people are expecting them / paying you for them.
(3) Create deadlines you cannot wiggle out of.
(4) Use a coach to run through your work, get important feedback and pick their brains on how to make it better.

There comes a point in your journey that you can no longer push through the pain to change your life and grow your business. Instead, you must sit in the discomfort of your pain and heal the subconscious pattern you're repeating.
Changing at this subconscious level of patterning will lead to new thoughts, new behaviours and new results in your life and your business.
But, it's not easy work! At the first level, you need to spot the pattern. Then accept responsibility for changing the pattern. The stop the pattern when it loops again.

This is the truth of how I went from zero to £100,000 in online sales in my online coaching business.
Look, I know you’re trying and I know you think it should be working right now. You took the leap to build your online business, you’ve made sales here and there but it feels too hard and you’re wondering: Will this ever work; have I got what it takes?
IT WILL AND YOU DO but -
You’ve got to do what will actually work and I’m going to be really straight and tell you what those things are right now.
The truth is it’s harder than a lot of people will tell you online. For this to work, you've got to be so hungry for this to work, you've got to feel like it’s your life's mission to show up in this way and make this work, you've got to focus on learning the proper skills of positioning value, marketing, mindset and sales to turn on sales and set yourself free.
I know you want more clients and I know you can help more people. But I also know that the best coaches don't win - the best marketeers do, every time. So, if you want to build an online business and be an online coach or course provider, you've got to accept the fact you're about to become an expert in online marketing and selling. And I'm going to help you!
So here's the bottom line. In a job, you get paid for showing up, regardless if you do the work or not. In entrepreneurship you do not get paid for showing up. You get paid for two reasons: (1) You added meaningful value to someone who was willing to pay for that value; and (2) Enough people got the chance to consider that valuable offer in the first place. If you’re not making sales it HAS to come down to one of those two things and both are skills you develop with work, trial and error and well, more work.

For juicy context, here are some of those key ideas:
(1) Get into the world:
First and foremost (hilarious phrase!?) you’ve got to get out in the world and sell things. Content will not lead to sales, no matter how great it is. What leads to sales is webinars, masterclasses, live workshops, discovery calls, freebies with a clear call to action.
In the beginning, I understood this deeply. I made a lot of content to help build my brand and build trust, but I was ALLLWAAYYYSSS launching, selling stuff, trying stuff. I’d put on events in local coffee shops, I’d book hotel venues and put on talks every month, I’d go live on Facebook and announce new course launches. When I look back on my journey, I can see I was out there in the world. I was making new connections ALL THE TIME. I was meeting people. I was making pitches and offering things and I built my business one client at a time.
Now, I tend to do long copy PDFs, and online masterclasses and workshops rather than live stuff. Back then, I did a lot in person.
So ask yourself: How many times have I offered something low risk to bring people to the front of the room this year? If you can 10x that you will massively increase your sales.
(2) Tell people what you believe:
Don’t share boring generic sh!t and DON’T YOU DARE USE CHAT WHATEVER IT’S CALLED TO SHARE YOUR CONTENT. I don’t even think you can use it for ideas if I’m honest. No-one wants to hear from a robot and no-one wants a generic summary of waffle off the internet. They want to know what worked for you! They want your powerful insights. They want the map you made! They want a human's journey.
So honestly, get really deep with yourself and think about two things: (1) What is the one big outcome you can deliver right now for clients; and (2) What is the truth of what that will take. Go make that content. Go write those mailers. Go build offers in answer to that.
(3) More time with clients:
Listen - get on calls with clients, offer more group time, offer more live time, offer more 121 time. If you’re not making sales right now, being tight with your time is hilarious isn’t it?! Instead offer more!! Double the time they get with you.
If you have an online course, introduce a live weekly call where you teach key concepts and answer questions. If you’re coaching is 6 sessions, make it 6 sessions + 3 action check ins. If you have a group, make one week live training and another week dedicated Q&A.
This doesn’t just make it a great offer, it gives you so much valuable insight about where people are, what they need, how you can help.

The best coaches / trainers in the world aren’t the ones who make all the sales. The best sales people are the ones who make all the sales.
What I mean is that they use very specific sales strategies to find customers, position the benefits and ask for the sale.
In my experience, this is the part a lot of purpose driven coaches and course providers avoid. Sometimes it’s not even conscious. They’ve literally never been taught how to sell. What I find these people doing instead is posting content that doesn’t really show the product, move the customer forward or link to the next logical step in the sales process.

Being an entrepreneur is one of the craziest, stupidest, dumbest things you're going to attempt. And once you are afflicted with the purpose of being an entrepreneur and building companies, you can't help it. You cannot suppress entrepreneurship. If you've got a drive to create things, just accept that you're stuck with it.
In this episode, I want to talk about burnout and overwhelm. I'm going to run through the things I do to manage burnout and keep it at bay. At the end of the episode, I'm going to show you how to reframe your goals, and break them down using four key categories that will make it easier to understand what's required to go the distance without burning out and feeling totally overwhelmed.

This weekend, I attended the Hay House Writer's Workshop about writing and publishing a book and took enough notes to write a book!
It was phenomenal - the energy, the people, the content, the speakers. I will tell you up front: I highly recommend this event to any good-hearted person who dreams of writing and publishing their own book.
But - the event didn't just teach you how to finish that book and get it out there in the world. It covered so much more including:
How and why you should be building community now, and how to do that if you're reluctant. What you must know before writing a book, and how this will help you build your business too. How to put together your book proposal and what publishers really want to see. The importance of writing from 'spirit' and joy instead of ego, and how to make that transition.There was such a beautiful energy at the event; an energy of 'being of service'.
There was also a very strong message about writing with joy. You put a lot of 'life force' and energy into a book so don't make it a slog - make it joyous.

How odd is this concept: 75% of your job as an entrepreneur, trying to build a multiple six figure thing, is sales and marketing.
I mean: If you’re wondering what you should be doing today, it’s this:
- Making offers and making them better - Posting content and building audience and pipeline - Adding value to future customers and making sales
Once those jobs are ticked, you can raise your invoices, book your calls, reply to the person quoting you insurance. These jobs are secondary. Your main job is to market and to sell.
Again…
Your main job as an online coach / provider is to market and sell.
How does that sit with you? Does it feel weird? I bet it does. Good people who feel driven by purpose ALSO have a feeling deep down that selling is a bit odd. We want to share our gifts and knowledge, and we want to help...for free.
You can of course build a model like that, where you give away your gifts for free. But you’d have to make your money elsewhere. A lottery win. Marrying into money. A job. Another business that funds this one.
Or…you can build a model where you get to add a lot of value, and make a lot of sales. That’s what I’m talking about in today’s video but first, a little more context…
I know you might feel like you’re wasting your time editing a video that only 100 people see. You wish you were better on camera / at editing / with lighting. You wish you could afford to outsource it. You wish more people would see it.
You might feel frustrated, like ‘Argh, that’ll do’, finalising the sales page for your next offer, knowing you’re anxious about selling. You wish someone could just send you the clients. You wish selling was easier.
But this is business: marketing, selling; learning to move people to action. The very nature of being an entrepreneur means learning how to provide value in exchange for money. And like anything worth doing, it is truly a skill that requires mastery. It takes time and hours in. Again… Marketing and selling are skills that require mastery.
And the more time and effort you put in, the better you will get.
You WILL be better at positioning value if you craft 20 offers in a year instead of three. You WILL be better at marketing if you post once a day, rather than twice a week. You WILL figure it all out faster if you lean in and recognise that this is a skill that requires practice, time in and attempts. The work will mould you.
That being said, there is something you can take advantage of to help you on this journey. All of us have an ‘edge’ – a skill that we’ve developed without even knowing it; a skill that has become so baked into our personalities that it’s natural and normal to us now. You will even use it today. For me, growing up as a military kid and moving home / country every two years, then going off to boarding school had its downsides, but it also gave me something I will value and leverage forever. I am good with people.
I am very quick at reading people. I know people. Sometimes I feel like I can read minds. I know how people are feeling, what they’re not telling me, where I need to push, and where I need to encourage more gently. I learnt this from having to fit in and make friends over and over and over again. I learnt this as a child, in a natural way, without books and psychology and hacks. It’s became part of who I am, and then I built on it with books, psychology, training, and hours in coaching and helping.
Using this little bit of magic, I can find the crux of an offer, I can build honest relationships quickly, I can position the value people want. I can sell.
In the coming weeks, I want you to reflect on this concept and ask: What is my little bit of magic? What skill or ability have I developed that I can lean on and use in my business, to help me add value, to make deals, to sell?
We all have something. You have something, I promise you. So what is it? And how can you use it more? Start looking.
Meanwhile, this might help as a reminder of what’s important when it comes to selling at this level. In this week’s instalment, I’m showing you the three places where the sale happens. What I’m about to share with you is known to six figure business owners who continue to sell and grow. If you can shift your mindset to master this approach, you can sell and sell, build and build, and never have to worry about where your next sale will come from.

“People set these crazy plans and approaches and targets they can never meet because: over-egging your plan and setting crazy targets is a form of sabotage - it gives you the ultimate out.”

The secret to success is 49% action and 99% ‘YOU’ - shh, that adds up scientifically - and the capacity you have to do three things:
Try things when there’s no guarantee it will work; Put yourself out there and risk failure; and, Feel like an imposter and turning up anyway.Even when you create the time and resolve to take action and do the important work, it’s still your mindset that will allow it or block it.
What if someone judges how I look on camera?
What if it isn’t good enough and no-one buys it?
What if it only gets five likes and then everyone thinks I’m silly for posting?
There are two types of work us lot need to do.
The first type of work is output related. Show me your chapter outline. Give me a one pager on your new programme idea. Let’s see your first video cut.
That’s physical output - stuff other people can see, buy, use and share. That makes sense right?
The second type of work is all internal.
It’s feeling vulnerable about posting a video, recognising that story started as a child for you, and supporting yourself to show up in a way that feels safe to you over time. It’s a process, it’s not an outcome.
It’s knowing you have a habit of giving away all of your money because you think that’s what it takes to receive love, and working hard to spot it when you do it, sit in the discomfort of deciding to keep your money and doing the work to change your story about your own worthiness. It’s a process, it’s not an outcome.
It’s recognising you tend to say yes to everyone else and your dreams have ended up one week down the list, one year down the list, one decade down the list and now you’re working through the guilt you feel just for taking some time to work on yourself. It’s a process, it’s not an outcome.
THAT’S THE WORK ISN’T IT?
When people say to me things like “Lisa, I’m struggling to post because I feel like an imposter”, there is often a full stop there. But the sentence can’t stop there. There must be an exploration of where this comes from, what benefits it’s giving you now, and how you plan to work through this.
All the while, there is mounting pressure to post, to create, to finish and so you heap tonnes of guilt on top of the fact you’re struggling to get things done.
I know, because I feel it too. That second example above - the money / love one - that [has been] me [in the past]!
So we need something else, don’t we?
It’s taken me a long time to learn what it really takes to change your life and get projects over the line. Sometimes it is MASSIVE, high energy, physical action, it’s true. Sometimes, you do just wake up, shut down a business, move to Manchester and finish the book ;-)
And sometimes it’s SLOW, gentle, bumpy action that includes reading books about trauma, spotting patterns over years of cycles, going to therapy to work things out, and creating safe places to create.
In this video, I’d like to look at this slower, gentler energy and give you five different strategies you can explore for making progress on your real dreams. Safely. Creatively. For the longterm outcome not the short term fix.
Spoiler alert: I’m not letting you off the hook today. I’m saying that there are two types of work - the output and the mindset. This video says ‘here’s how to finish the output, by focusing on the mindset work’.

Parker said in Let Your Life Speak - your purpose is like a tiger in the jungle. Wild, but shy. To find it, you can't go storming into the tress. You have to sit quietly under the base of a tree and wait for it to show.
So here are the two things you have to accept about finding your purpose in life:
#1 You can’t charge towards your purpose. It comes from within. You listen to it. You trust it. You take action in faith, and in doing do, you charge towards your vision! Your purpose begins as a whisper and the more you listen, the louder it speaks.
#2 The second thing you have to accept about purpose is that you were given gifts to help you live out your purpose. The likelihood is, you think those gifts are normal, like everyone has them. And so you use them, you don’t leverage them. And if you’re not using them, you’re wasting them.
In this video, I'm going to share with you three simple but powerful questions to help you uncover your purpose, strengthen your connection to that purpose and take bold steps to live a life of deeper purpose.

Yesterday, I recorded the start of a new podcast ten times. I am not exaggerating or rounding up for smartness. I even paused after six attempts, had a tea break and tried again. I was committed to producing a podcast episode.
The theme I'd selected was based on a training I'd delivered a week earlier for my business community: How to build a six figure online marketing funnel.
The training was fire! Fast paced. Challenging. A direct call to arms to be useful, to work hard, to focus on client results at every step of the funnel. But it just didn't translate to a podcast for a wider audience. Something that felt really poignant and topical for one audience became cliche and general for another.
Without considering why that was the case, I called my dad and said "Dad, I'm not working today - do you want to go and surprise mum at work?". He was a yes. I told him I'd be leaving in an hour. I just had to walk the dogs and send some client emails first.
Deciding to walk away from the episode gave me something. Freedom? Space? It let me off the hook! It meant I didn't have to produce something practical or functional. I didn't have to 'tick the box' of marketing that day. It just wasn't happening. I'd tried.
Somewhat ironically, then, I found myself reaching for my iPhone, whilst looping the field, to record the introduction of the podcast I wasn't making. It felt fun, light, in flow. I recorded myself calling back the dogs. I recorded myself clipping them in. And that's when I realised what was bothering me.
Content for the sake of content demotivates me. I can't produce something for the sake of it. I don't like to and I don't want to. And I don't have to.
When I think of what inspires me, what really gets me flowing, it's the opportunity to create something new and different that will make people smile and ask 'how did she do that?'. I don't want to be a follower, of a pattern or a style or a formula. I want to be a leader, a creator, an original.
With that idea in mind, I recorded my thoughts (and the rest of my day) on my iPhone, sharing the concept of 'being useful'. Today's podcast episode is the result of that work. We explore the importance of being truly useful in a world filled with more and more content. We look at the catalytic effect of desire in making the world a better place for the people you can help. And I challenge you to produce something meaningful for your business today, instead of ticking yet another item off the list.

Did you ever used to watch Gary Vee's daily vlogs? I loved them! I'm not sure if they're back now, but the ones pre-world-shut-down. Ah man they were fab - music, broll, daily life. Right up my video editing street.
Anyway, in the intro to them, he used to step off a jet and you'd hear him say: "I just want to be happy, don't you want to be happy?".
Those words are repeated in my head DAILY. And even more so if I feel down or stuck or demotivated.
That notion - 'I just want to be happy' - has prompted some crazy decisions in me for a long time.
I guess I just believe that there is nothing more 'successful' than being happy, truly, deeply, happy. Safe & secure, with means to live well, yes...and happy.
I also believe that if we do what is 'for us' in this lifetime - if we're brave and follow the calling, if we do what lights us up - the other things we desire will follow anyway. It's hard of course, finding the courage to pursue happiness over familiarity, happiness over comfort, happiness over status quo.
It's often real 'rock the boat of life' stuff we have to do. And a lot of people pause when it comes to the 'taking action' part.
I guess that's what I'm talking about in today's voice note - what comes before action, what makes us happy, who we want to become.
Two things...
1. Vision / destination / goal / intention / desire.
2. Belief / resolve / willingness to try / energy / motivation to act.
Often people know what they want and won’t admit it. Then know what it will take and won’t do it.
I think the first one comes down to a fear of failure or getting hurt and the second one comes down to a belief of ‘not me’, as in - other people can do this but I can’t.
I doubt myself all the time when I’m shooting for more. In those times I lean heavily on journalling, affirmations annnnddd the belief of others.
Every day we have a choice: Avoid the hard stuff and distract ourselves with checkout activities. Which really just makes the pain bigger in the long run.
Or...
Lean on positive habits like books, exercise, motivation content etc. to find just enough courage to take one small step.
When I was totally lost in depression I learnt not to lean on my own motivation at that time - I didn’t have any!
So I borrowed other people's.
I read so many autobiographies of business owners who’d turned things around. I listened to comedians on my runs. I played motivational music and speeches and FLOODED my mind and subconscious with the new thoughts I knew I had to believe.
And with that, I found the courage each day to do a little something for my future - post, pay off some debt, learn. And I am so grateful to that past version of myself who tried in agony.
The life we’ll live tomorrow will be set up by the courage we can muster today.

Happiness, like most good things - It's not a passive process. The passive process of life will see you falling into the trenches of what is easy, what is comfortable, what you've done before. Happiness requires that you actively put yourself in the way of what you want in your life, and you put yourself on the line and you risk failure.
Everybody's terrified of failure but fear is only ever one of two things. You're afraid it will fail and you won't look good. And the other fear is fear of getting hurt.
Here's the thing that I love, right…
Every time you take action on something, you're basically saying, I have faith that this could work. I believe that this might turn out. I believe that if I give it a go and I commit to it, I will figure something out along the way and I'll probably end up where I want to be.
Any time you procrastinate or hold back or make an excuse or whatever, you're basically saying, I'm fearful that this won't turn out. I’m afraid it won't work. I don't have faith in my ability to see this through.
So if you're procrastinating on anything like putting a post out, writing a book, going to the gym, going on dating apps, remind yourself that all you're doing is protecting yourself from the fear of failure, from the fear that it won't work out.
Well, let me tell you, you've already failed because it's never going to work out if you're not even in the game. If you literally don't give it a go, you have failed anyway. So the very thing you tried to protect yourself from, you just ran into at 100 miles an hour.
Why do that?
The thing that you want sits on the other side of you taking action.

Changing your life is an active, not a passive, process.
There are stories and ideas and beliefs you’re running that are stupid and mean and cruel.
What speaker would say to themselves: “You suck! You’ll never get paid to speak!”
What writer would say to themselves: “You’ve got nothing to say, don’t even begin!”
What coach would say to themselves: “You don’t know enough. Don’t even think about posting that!”
Of course, we don’t say these things out loud or even consciously. They’re thoughts, ideas, vibes we hold in our subconscious mind.
Who cares why. Who cares where they came from.
What I care about is this:
1 - You define what you want to become.
2 - You dig deep and list out how you feel about this. What ideas support you here? What fears do you have? What’s the dominant thought you have in the background around this goal?
3 - Write it all down! Pay attention. GET CONSCIOUSNESS over the feelings you hold. Say them out loud. Put them into words.
4 - REWRITE THEM! Rewrite the beliefs you need to hold and repeat them until your subconscious mind accepts them as truth.
This sounds too simple to work but it literally does lol.
A belief is JUST something we’ve repeated enough times that we hold it to be fact.
It’s not fact!
“I don’t have time” is an opinion, not a fact.
“I’m not good enough” is an opinion, not a fact.
“I don’t deserve it” is an option, not a fact.
Don’t ignore this advice. It will change your life.
Set your intention. Go searching for the feelings / blocks / self limiting beliefs. Put them into words. REWRITE the belief you need and repeat, repeat, repeat until you hold it to be true.
Meanwhile…
Of course you need to back this up with action! Don’t just say stuff and return to your normal behaviours.
Repeat the new beliefs AND use that vibe to sit down to write a post.
Repeat the new beliefs AND use that energy to get yourself on the dating app!
Repeat the new belief AND use that power to create a speaker bio.
Beliefs and actions come hand in hand. Through both, we gain confidence, experience and momentum!

Honestly? There are only two things you have to focus on if you want to change your life now and it really is as simple as this:
(1) How you see yourself; and, (2) The action YOU prioritise.
It's tragic to think we know something we want and we even know how to get it and yet we simply don't do the 'one true action' that will get us there.
It's like waking up and saying: "I'm desperate to be in shape. I know all I have to do is make better food and move a little more each day but instead I think I'll eat this entire bag of [whatever] and sit at my desk all day".
Or "I urgently want (and need) to grow my business. To do that all I need to do is actually complete my new offer, invite more people to consider it through webinars / events / ads but instead I think I'll clear my inbox and sit and worry about the money running out."
Why? We actually do this don't we?
Think now of something you want. And identify the two basic things you'd have to do in order to make it happen. So why won't you do those two things? What is stopping you?
I think it all comes down to how you see yourself and therefore the action you prioritise...
And, I guess - focus. Is that thing in focus now? Do you bring it back into focus daily, by watching content like this and actually taking action.

Have you realised that to change your life [insert goal - write book, scale business, change health, move, fall in love, change career], you don't just have to 'make changes', but you have to consistently act deeply 'out of character for yourself' on a consistent basis to experience the new outcome.
Obviously, that is going to feel horrendous because you think your character is YOU.
But it's not.
It's just a collection of ideas, memories, beliefs and values you've come to focus on, remember and prioritise. Like a path we tread in the grass. The more we tread it, the more engrained it becomes. Your 'character' has become deeply engrained.
With a bit of effort, we can change the path and we can change our character.
I know this sounds crazy but...
Everyone has a 'return to type' - a way they respond when things get tough. Let's say for example - an idea doesn't work, you're facing confrontation, you feeling out of control or exposed. In all these situations, you have a way of responding, a type you return to.
This is why change doesn't stick because when it happens, people feel out of control and return to type, their type, their character.
Therefore, to change your life, you must learn to change what is characteristic for you. You must act out of character.

When people tell me "I'm so lost", "I don't know what my purpose is", "I don't know what I want for my life", I gently and with a little cheek reply "You know exactly what you want and what to do next, you're just not yet comfortable with the answer".
I think deep down we all know what we want. We all know what is for us. We know the 'truth' of our next move. But, because we're human and we're good people, we can't help but think about the impact this change will have on other people, and on our own reputations. "How will this look?", "What will they say?".
And it's just too much to bear. So we stay. And we struggle. And we explain it by declaring to ourselves "I feel so lost!".
It helps me to realise that ACTION isn't the first stage in this process of change. Before action comes the need to ADMIT the truth, then the process of ACCEPTING that truth. Only then do we need to turn our attention to action.
And you can take as long as you want at each stage. But there is a vital difference between engaging in this process and doing work, and ignoring it in hope things will just get better.
So go easy on yourself, but don't ignore the truth. Break it down. Admit it first. Spend time accepting it next. And then, turn your energy to action.
Admit. Accept. Act.
The change you want to make in your life is inevitable. It will happen in the end. So engage positively and humanly in this process and be part of the change you want.

Change is a painful process. It requires we forfeit what we know and what people know of us in order to go after something our hearts desire.
Sometimes, often in fact, we can’t explain why we want what we want, we just know that it’s right.
It’s a feeling.
It’s a notion.
It’s a whisper in our hearts.
What comes through in that whisper isn’t just clarification of the desire, but the whole programme required to meet that desire. Your desire is both the clue as to what’s next, and the map for making it happen.
The whisper might be asking you to make room for what’s next by leaving the job, leaving the relationship, moving home, creating a studio, taking time off, booking an event.
Or it could be showing you who you can be in the notion of a vision or an idea for a book or business.
You know what the whisper is telling you. And you’re the only one who does. No-one can define it for you, or clarify the message. No-one can interpret it for you or help you make sense of it. Because it rarely does make sense. It’s a map, not a destination. It’s an invitation, not the party. And the answer builds with every courageous step you take.
My instinct tells me it might be a fairly new idea but it’s far more likely to be something you’ve been hearing for a while. It's been sitting so quietly and patiently in the background, waiting for you to be ready for the truth.
You might not realise have realised it until this moment but the whisper is the answer. It’s the path to the happiness and ease and peace you seek. And the transformation begins the moment you tune in and start to listen more fully to that whisper.
So what is it telling you? What is for you? What is the truth?
As you start to connect more deeply to the desire and tune into the whisper, things will start to move around you. Your tolerances change. You notice little moments of magic and ease. You start to feel the contrast of what is ‘not for you’ more heavily. You get annoyed, you feel impatient.
What follows acknowledgement isn’t action, but decision. Before we act, we must come to terms with the whisper and decide on the change; on a course of action. You might find yourself saying: “I know what to do, but I’m scared, this is so destructive, I’m dreading doing the thing, what if this doesn’t work?”. This isn’t a bad thing. Even without action, the decision to act is a powerful thing. It says: “I am ready to be ready to act”.
Of course, the transformation only truly moves into reality when we finally take action, inspired by the whisper. We hand in our notice. We start the blog. We have the conversation. And all hell breaks loose! But we find that we are equipped to handle it. What the whisper has been telling you isn’t just a clue, but the entire map of what is about to unfold in your life for the greatest possible good.
So when you find yourself asking ‘What’s next?’, ‘What is this all for?’, ‘What is for me?’, don’t look outside of yourself for the answer. Be quiet and listen carefully. Your heart knows the answer and it’s been whispering it to you the whole time.
Acknowledge it. Make the decision. And back it up with courageous action.

When a new client says to me: "Lisa, I'm just not making enough sales in my online business", the first thing I ask is:
"Okay, how much time did you spend this month on pitching offers, speaking to customers, hosting webinars, telling people about your online course or membership or coaching programme?"
The answer is always "Erm, well...".
Business is not a joke. It doesn't have to be a punishment, but it's not a joke. You can't sit still, posting things on social media, and hope the sales will follow. They won't. I know this is really direct but sometimes we need the reminder: Bold results come from bold action.
To sell in business you must create a process that educates your prospective clients on who you are, on what you do and on how your offer will give them what they truly desire.
This means:
1. Crafting an offer people want to buy.
2. Demonstrating that you can help your client get what they want faster or more easily or with less pain or effort, through your unique process or approach.
3. Turning up where customers are and pitching for their custom. This means running webinars, sharing PDFs, opening the doors, hopping on discovery calls, making it clear you have an amazing offer and highlighting the benefits with testimonials.
4. Continuing to show up for yourself and your future clients, continuing to learn and adapting the process to suit your style and your life.
Remember: Posting on social media is not selling. It's a good thing; it will help you to build your brand and build trust, but you will only start making sales in a scalable way when you build a process that introduces you to new clients, adds value, educates them on how you can help and pitches an offer...regularly, in a scalable way. The more automated, the better! But this can be a manual process to begin with.

Being in business can be hard. There is a lot to learn, like how to put a commercially viable offer together, how to close a one-to-one sale, how to build a working funnel.
But it can also be easy. IF you follow the inspiration that comes up, IF you follow your heart and build something that feels good to you, IF you do the work and show up today, for an easier tomorrow.

There seems to be four things I pick up on and talk about on repeat. In today’s episode, I’d like to run through them and highlight ways for you to grow your online business in 2022, avoiding these four common mistakes.

A lot of people want something different to what they’re already experiencing in life - more happiness, more peace, less stress, more money, more freedom.
They WANT it, but their dominant thought is actually in opposition to the thing they want.
Desire: I want more money. Dominant thought: No-one will buy from me, I’m a nobody. I haven’t got time to finish my offer. Social media is too crowded now!
Desire: I want to be fit. Dominant thought: Urgh I’ve tried everything, nothing works. I’m too busy and too tired to workout anyway. I’m going to treat myself to something naughty tonight!
Desire: I want to be in love. Dominant thought: I’m such a loser. Who could love me. Love like what I see in the movies isn’t even real anyway! Maybe I should just settle and be done with it?
You might know this already but today I want to impress on you the sheer importance of adopting this new way of thinking in your day to day life.
Everyone wakes up with fear, doubt, concerns. It’s human nature. The second you open your eyes, you’re faced with a choice: Listen to those thoughts and act from that place; or, change your thoughts, and therefore your focus, and act from that place!
It sounds surprising but this can take months and sometimes years to master.
So, we don’t have a second longer to delay.

How to approach video content in a six figure online business [and how to smash a filming retreat!]. It's no secret we LOVE video content in DARETOGROW.
Our goal is to share one long format video every 8-10 days, teaching something really practical or motivating to help our communities to TAKE ACTION to grow their businesses.
This week, we'd like to bring you behind the scenes and show you HOW we plan and create so much video content for the business.
The secret really is filming retreats; filming 8-11 videos in a few short days so we have plenty of content to work with! It sounds kind of crazy at first, but doing this means Matt (our wonderful in house video editor) has tons of content to work with (which I think is love-hate haha...Matt?), and I can stay focused on growing the business and delivering for clients. It took a while to get into a good rhythm with this and learn how to maximise the day and the post production but I think we're just about getting there!

- What we look for in a venue (curtains to block the light are important!); - How I plan the content leading up to the retreat (I don't nail it all in advance!);
- To script or not to script (hello bullets stuck to the tripod!);
- How to maximise the time during the filming retreat (Can we say coffee machine?!); and,

When I talk about ‘hitting six figures’ in your business, there are always three camps of people. Which one are you?
Camp 1 – Has a dream of building their own business and six figures is the goal. Has only just started posting or turning up online, and might have sold a few programmes or made a few offers.
Camp 2 – Has made headway with sales, maybe £20k - £30k in the year, and wants to make the leap emotionally and strategically to hit six figures, perhaps so they can quit their job or commit more fully to their business.
Camp 3 – Has experiences some excellent sales months or launches (and knows six figures is within grasp), but hasn’t quite landed on the consistency in terms of revenue or turning up online.
With today’s post, there will be something for people in all camps. As always, let me ask you to find the ONE BIG INSIGHT that YOU can take forward and apply to bring you one step closer to that six figure year, whether it’s in your online business or using online marketing methods to make it happen.
So, when thinking about growing your business to a six figure year, you have to look at it from two angles. The first angle is the strategy you use and the second angle is you as a person.
When it comes to strategy, simplicity is best. You can hit six figures with one core product, one focal funnel and one key traffic source (like Facebook ads or Instagram). I hit multiple six figures with one course (The Online Course if you know it?) and one traffic source – FacebookTM ads.
When it comes to ‘you’, I’m referring to your capacity to hold a six figure year, which translates to: Can you deliver transformation at that level, can you put the structure in place to maintain it and are you ready to receive and hold that money energetically.

What can you learn about growing and scaling your business online...from going to the gym?? It turns out...quite a lot! For example, I remember being in this SUPER SET with my PT Dario. I stood up from squats (which were BURNNNINGGG) and said "I can't another set like this , it's too hard". Dario put his hands on my shoulders, put me back into a squat and said: "You're not in the next set, you're in this one...21, 22, 22..." And it really changed something in my brain. We're always told "start with the end in mind" and work backwards from there. And I teach that in business. But there must be room for another approach too: The unfolding of a story; the progress of journey.
When making vlogs or sharing stories from your life you can't start with the end in mind because you don't know it. It's more about documenting the journey. It's more about sharing your understanding as it evolves. It's more about the unfolding.

It's too easy to feel off track, deflated, down, stuck in a rut. In today's episode, I'd like to share four honest ways to get your life back on track... when you're a purpose driven entrepreneur who wants to do good in the world.
For example, when I feel stuck in a rut or unable to move forward, I often find there is a tough decision I'm avoiding or something I'm not giving myself that I need.
I don't therefore need to 'get out of the rut', I just need to make the tough decision or take time for myself and the way becomes clear!

I’ve had to come to terms with the fact I destroy almost everything I build. Courses, structures, businesses. Once something has served its purpose I seem to have no fear in taking it down and replacing it with something else. Something more relevant.
At first I thought this was a bad thing “why can’t I just recycle ads and course and funnels?”. It would be easier wouldn’t it? But the truth is that what we build yesterday was merely a stepping stone to the evolution that’s coming today. And if we hang on to what we’ve built, tinkering at the edges, we might miss the opportunity to build something truly transformational today.
It’s okay to let things go. It’s okay to move on. It’s okay to evolve.
So my question to you today is: what’s in your heart? What do you want to build? And can you let go of what was to make room for what could be?

The truth? When you first start out, you're not really launching a business in the beginning. You're actually creating a product or service and adding value in the market.

Getting away from 'it all' is a blessing. Whether you head camping, rent a cottage for a weekend or just switch off the WiFi router, magic comes from the space we create.

Strategy is a military term. It comes from the Greek word strategos meaning ‘generalship‘… I take it to mean ‘How can I achieve that outcome with these resources, this time and this landscape?’. Being strategic in your business means having an approach that uses the resources, time and opportunity you have in a smart, albeit ambitious, way. And it means ruling out just as much as you rule in. I think this is one of the biggest mistakes entrepreneurs make when trying to get to build a six figure business. They try to deliver on two strategies at once. But often it’s because we just don’t understand strategy or how to think about it!

Fri, 23 Oct 2020 - 06min - 6 - The Episode on Depression I Was Too Scared to Share – What it Really Took to Get Over a Six Year Stint of Clinical Depression
Can I be honest with you? I had depression for six years of my life. What got me through it wasn't medication or therapy or counselling. All of those are viable routes for tackling this horrendous and debilitating mental illness, but they couldn't work for me. The reason being I HATED my life! I hated everything about it and I was lying day in and day out about who I was to the world.
The cure for me, then, was to face up to the truth of who I was and go on an incredible journey of reconnecting with my truth, changing my circumstances and sharing myself more fully with the world.
In order to do that I had to face some hard realities, take total ownership of my own mental health (not an easy thing to do, I know!) and take some rather unconventional steps.
In this episode, I'd like to share three of the things I did or learnt that helped me move through depression. I have been scared to share this in the past fearing the backlash but if I didn't know this stuff, I would still be suffering today. It's what I needed to hear and so I'm going to trust it's what you need to hear if you find yourself watching this video.
I really hope there is a message in this video that gives you hope, provides some momentum or helps you think differently about your situation just for a second long enough to take action that will change your life positively.
I want to make it clear, as I say here, I am not a Doctor or a psychologist or anything like that. I was diagnosed with depression in 2015 after six long years of suffering. What happened in 2015 changed my life and things have never been the same since.
