- 38 - Kamalisa for President - Lisa Cooper
It's getting closer and closer to the American election, and I must say Im a bit nervous for the outcome. I guess a lot of the world its holding its breath at the moment.
To calm my self down, I needed to talk to an American activist, that can give me some insight about whats going on down there and give me some hope that there's still many Americans out there that want to create a better world and wants Kamala to win the election.
It would be such a great step for the world, if America in a couple of days could get its first female president. I would say the world needs it. And I also suggest Lisa running for president in the future after listened to all her wisdom in this episode.
Get to know a future presidential candidate, that has many similarities with the current running one, in this episode of A regenerative future.
You should listen to the episode if your curious on:
- How Lisas journey from Harlem to Oslo, thought her to focus on strengths.
- What she learned from her great role model of an activist Grandma.
- The cool effects of reversed mentoring.
- How you can support integration of youth and adult immigrants, to create a better society for us all.
- The Diversity, Equity and Inclusion backlash movement, that might take us backwards.
- The American election, the burden of being mixed race and hopes for the future.
The world needs more leaders like Kamala and Lisa. So I vote Kamelisa for president.
Sun, 03 Nov 2024 - 30min - 37 - #37. Finding more meaning in our work lives - Elham Binai
The fall is definitely here, so get your beanies on, bring a big smile and some headphones and get your ass out for a walk in the crisp fall weather to enjoy the beautiful colours.
If walking and listening is not for you, my talk with Elham Binai will also for sure bring you the beanie feeling, hopefully a smile on your face, some crisp topics and some colourful reflections. So you might as well enjoy it indoors with a blanket and a warm cup of something delicious.
Elham is a seasoned CHRO with an extensive global career, she now runs her own global leadership consultancy and work with a lot of exciting companies within AI and tech.
On her sparetime she does meaningful stuff like sitting in the board of Plan Norway and walking around smiling with her hat on.
Listen to this weeks episode of A regenerative future if your curios on; - How we all can use our upbringing, in Elhams case fleeing from war, and the values that our life has instilled in us to lead better for the future?
- Faith, spirituality and scriptures and how those can help us to tackle changes that are coming our way and the great leadership lessons they serve.
- How being unapologetically ourselves also at work, links to great mental health.
- Why the happiness index doesn’t make meaning and needs to be replaced with the meaningful index.
- Whats broken with the modern day slavery and whats making us so sick, fat and (not so) happy?
We are off course ending on a high note on the solutions to create better lives for us all.
Thank you for listening. Wish you a great unapologetic week with lots of meaning!
Sun, 20 Oct 2024 - 34min - 36 - #36. Work less with more impact - Sara UIdal
Haven't we all wished that our days had some extra hours?
What if we have got it all wrong this whole time, and it's not about more hours, but how we use them? Or maybe we could even do with less? The future might be so bright that we all need to wear shades!
I definitely needed to get to the bottom of some research that shows that working a 4 day work week gives more output in productivity, than working a normal 5 day work week. And more healthier and fulfilled people.
Who better to invite for a chat than the amazing Sarah Uldal, which is a partner in 4 day week global and helps companies move towards a more sustainable shorter work week, or just implementing some of the principles that makes us more productive and live better lives?
Listen to this weeks episode if you want to understand how:
1. You can work less, with more impact.
2: A 4 day work week could look like.
3: You can either implement some of the great principles or if you want, go all the way.
4: We can live better and more balanced lives with the time we have.
Wish you a regenerative week ahead and hope you get some great tips from us this week, so you can live your best life now!
Xoxo
Sarah and Chris
Sun, 29 Sep 2024 - 36min - 35 - #35. A joyful culture ride - Annicken Day
The world and our workplaces could need a whole lot of more joy infused into it, so who better to invite to this episode of A regenerative future than Annicken Day, which has joy as her guiding star in life.
Annicken is a best selling author, key note and Ted-X speaker and expert in workplace culture, she has joy as her guiding star.
She started her career getting fired from a job when she tried to coach her leader to treat their people a bit better (an experience we share). Then she understood that she needed to embark on a journey to improve workplace cultures and build better leaders.
She is passionate about the importance of realising our dreams now, as Annicken just did. To spoil it a bit, it involves working from anywhere, some sun and just a little bit of wine.
We talk about going from making work not suck, to being a thriving place and how joy and passion is important parts of a thriving workplace.
We get to know Maya, the fictional businesswomen from her book, who I think we all can relate to. I at least felt like the story of Maya is the story of me. Or maybe it's you?
And then we end on the importance of once in a while have a proper touchdown with yourself to transform, and how that can look like.
We wish you a transformative fall ahead and a joyful ride in this episode of A regenerative future!

Welcome to the first episode of season 2 of A regenerative future, where we in every episode invite inspiring guests who all have in common that they contribute to create as many plusses as possible in the world. Thats what regeneration is all about.

Then dreaming ourselves back to a wonderful upbringing in Mauritius. Where she was so fortunate to have her great uncle (aka the president) as a close mentor. Yes, you get to hear all his advices in this episode.
We walk through how she managed a successful transition to a colder North, and what made her win the Sunniva award for her outstanding leadership in 2019. We might also touch upon the future of a Norwegian salmon or two.But then as lightning from clear skies, she faced a sudden downfall in 2021, when a personal crisis hit her right in the head. Literally. We cant end this great story, before the hero has been able to rise again. So we finish off by talking about how she with one step at the time got herself back on track and what we all can learn from her journey.
Wish you all a great listen and hope you all are able to bring your great habits from summer into the coming season!
Sun, 18 Aug 2024 - 32min - 33 - #33. Textiles is the new plastic - Vibeke Krohn
Did you know that the textile industry is responsible for more than 8% of the total Co2 emissions, which is more than both airplanes and boats?
Im wondering why we dont talk more about our own overconsumption of clothes and the industry that encourages us to consume way to much clothes. We are fuelling an industry that is both destroying our planet and creates large islands of clothes in landfills all over the world.
Its about time we as consumers take action and its about time companies within the industry does the same.
Finally this week, we got the great news with passing of new legislation in Norway that makes it easier to sell reused clothes and other products. Hopefully that will take us some steps on the way.
One of the companies that also tries to take us there, and which has had worldwide success with their recycling of plastic bottles, is Tomra. Now they are aiming to conquer the textile industry and make it circular.
This week we are lucky to get to speak to Vibeke Krohn, who has taken on the important role as CEO for Tomra textiles. She has a passion for creating a better world and making sure we use our resources wisely and hopefully over and over again.
So if you are curious on how we can change one of the worst industries and how you can contribute. Then tune in to this weeks episode of A regenerative future.
With Tomra´s previous success with plastic bottles, Im hopeful that they will contribute to make one of the worst industries become a bit better.
Lets all be a part of the change and do our share fare in consuming less!

Sun, 01 Oct 2023 - 34min - 23 - #23. Without hope, we have nothing - Petter Gulli
The first time I met Petter I felt like I had lost a bit hope of a better future. I felt everything was moving to slow and I felt that there where so few people that did enough for it to matter in the big picture. A lot of talk and not so much walk. Its a bit like I feel with the the local Norwegian election this year. Loosing hope.
Something shifted for me when Petter on both in and out breath shared concrete examples where huge efforts where being made and he gave me a glimps of hope. Petter himself got huge hope from Al Gore. He is a sustainable brand advisor and founder of 12YEARS. He has authored the book “Hope” and been the contributor to many more. He has made his life mission to make us do more and better, and to never loose hope.
We hope you will also find some inspiration and get some hope from our conversation.

Mon, 01 May 2023 - 31min - 17 - #17. The drumming CEO - Tilmann Stolte
One year ago we in Future leaders global was set out to find two CEOs, that was before we met Tilmann Stolte.
After a couple of rounds we realised we had found the perfect candidate to lead both the commercial and NGO part of the company, so we decided to merge both the organisations and the boards.
It has now gone a year since we did our onboarding in a Sauna in Oslo and we talk about his main learnings after the first year, his tricks to keep in balance in a start-up in growth phase, how we feel about working together and how it is leading a Norwegian company from Copenhagen and being German himself.
Till has previously worked in SingularityU and has been a professional drummer in Buck Roger & The Sidetrackers. He has the last year taken the organisation into a more regenerative and exciting direction. I encourage you to listen in to hear his thoughts about how we all can be part of the solution to create an even better future for all of us.

Mon, 10 Apr 2023 - 34min - 16 - #16. What leaders dont talk about - Anita Sundby
The room is packed with people and Im standing in the back. My heart starts to beat like crazy when the author starts to share the first story from her book “What leaders dont talk about”. It doesn't take many sentences before I realise that she decided to kick off her book launch with my story.
In that moment Im back to being 29 again and the worst treatment I have ever experienced in my career. It hit me hard and it took me a while to get back on my feet again. I also learned how you should not treat people. Thinking about it still makes me anxious, and at first I was not sure if would dare to share my story.
When Anita called me 6 months ago, she convinced me that it was worth it. Because noone should never be silenced in fear. If I wouldnt dare to speak up and share my story in this book, how can I then expect others to dare to speak up?
Luckily most people I have met in my career , knows how to treat people respectfully. This weeks guest in A regenerative future Anita Sundby is one of them and her story is equally incredible.
She is now on a mission to create a healthier worklife, where people dare to speak up and are treated with respect. Even in difficult situations.
If you want to hear more about it, I suggest you listen or watch this weeks episode.
Wish you all a happy easter and thanks for listening!Sun, 02 Apr 2023 - 31min - 15 - #15. Lets be brave together - Aaron Kroon
Aaron Kroon is adopted and came to Sweden 1978, as the first person of colour in a small Swedish village. His parents has always been his greatest allies and one of the main reasons for him being where he is today. Maybe against his odds.
This weeks guest of A regenerative future, is ranked as top 3 in "Swedish Role Model of the Year” 2022, he is a Diversity Trailblazer and People Director at Schibsted Nordic Marketplaces. He today uses his platform to fight for equal rights for all and especially for the LGBTQIA+ community.
We talk about the importance of a safe team of family, friends and colleagues around us, how to deal with hate, discrimination and racism thrown at you, about him being too cool for school, and how we all can use our voices for the greater good.
Then we ask ourselves why strong voices suddenly go silent, addressing our moments of doubt, sharing the story of how we both got a job offer turned down in last minute because of being gay and sharing our key defining moments in life. Ending up with the importance of being humble about the privelleges we all have and that its a duty for us, to us it for the better of others who are less fortunate.
Aarons advice to all of us out there is to dont apologise for who we are, use our voice for the better and lets be brave together!
Sun, 26 Mar 2023 - 30min - 14 - #14. The world Im dreaming of in 2029 - Lars Rinnan
At the moment Lars Rinnan is in Kairo and is soon going to talk to 12 000 people at the "Rise up summit" about how AI will save the world, with one of the worlds greatest wonders the pyramids, as the backdrop. We where lucky enough to catch him before he flew of to Egypt. In this weeks episode of A regenerative future, you get to hear more about the world he dreams of in 2029.
Lars is a true futurist who works to change the world for the better with technology. He is the CEO of Amesto Nextbridge, which aim to be the innovator in data driven sustainabilty and insight.
We talk about the silly title futurist, the world in 2029, how tech will save the world, the old trend of language tech, how he did a career shift from trying to become a pilot to become an expert in AI, how we use ChatGPT in our daily work and our beloved private virtual assistants.
Then we both agree that we with more technology, theres a need for us to double down on empathy. We adresse some of the dark sides of AI and how we need to stop using it for addiction and profit, and start using it for the greater good. We share some of the concrete solutions that give us hope, lets not let fear or governments stop us in making it happen.
This episode really makes me hopeful that we can use AI for the greater good. So we can finally live more meaningful lives and let robots do what they are good at. It may happen sooner than 2029!
Sun, 19 Mar 2023 - 35min - 13 - #13. Imagine a world filled with empathy - Siri Abrahamsen
Siri Abrahamsen is on a mission to bring more empathy and joy to the world, through her company Gleding. She is a founder, a bestselling author and a dear friend which I have had many fruitful conversations with. Even when we disagree, which we do alot, we do that it with love.
In this weeks episode of A regenerative future we talk about why we need to stop talking about anti-bullying, the ambition of bringing a new word to the world, the importance of micromeetings, of having cureagous conversations, about cruel optimism and how we all have adapted a bodylanguage of fear.
We both agree that watching naked people on an Island or endless scrolling doesn't feed our souls, meeting eyes and smiles does. We say a big fuck off to constant being on screens and sharing some of the great alternatives.
If your not amongst those who think making a difference in the world is done by flying private jets to Davos and take a selfie, you would probably be better of listening to this episode.
Its time to fill the world with less plastic influencers and more people like Siri who wants to create a better world for all of us!

We continue on talking about how we need to stop excusing ourselves, lets not wait for more data to do good, why she finds me and people who just see problems annoying, the shitty average and why its important to act with the end in mind.
Thank you all so much for listening and for your contribution to create a more thriving world for all of us!

Kjersti teaches her kids meditation and all the healthy habits, I wish every child on the planet could grow up with. She advocates for the importance of relearning how to live and that if we could fix the society, we would not need to fix ourselves at all.
We talk about her regenerative farm, the importance of keeping the dirt in the ground healthy, why we should look for nutrition density in our food, what social regeneration is, how everyone play a crucial part in the diverse ecosystem and how you can find your personal farmer.
We should maybe stop striving to fix ourselves to endure living in a broken world, but rather fix the world we live in, so we would neither have to endure or fix ourselves?
