- 190 - #180 - A Quiet Place: Day One
This week, we're plunging into the heart-pounding world of A Quiet Place: Day One! The latest chapter in the chilling A Quiet Place franchise takes us back to the origins of the terrifyingly silent apocalypse. Set before the events of the original film, this prequel uncovers the early days of the alien invasion and the human struggle for survival in a world where even the slightest sound can be deadly. With a fresh cast and new storylines, A Quiet Place: Day One offers a gripping exploration of fear, resilience, and the lengths we'll go to protect our loved ones. As we dissect the film's edge-of-your-seat tension and examine how it expands the universe of its predecessor, we ask: Does A Quiet Place: Day One build on the suspense and emotional depth of the original, or does it falter under the weight of its own ambition? Join us to find out, as we ask the question... But Is A Quiet Place: Day One Good?

Tue, 10 Sep 2024 - 1h 13min - 189 - #179 - Kinds of Kindness
This week, we're venturing into the strange and intriguing world of Kinds of Kindness! From the delightfully unconventional mind of Yorgos Lanthimos, this latest film features a stellar cast, including Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, and Hong Chau. In this unique story, we find ourselves in a society where acts of kindness come with unexpected and often unsettling consequences. Lanthimos, known for his offbeat and thought-provoking narratives, crafts a tale that blends dark humor with a sharp critique of societal norms. As the characters navigate their increasingly bizarre and morally complex world, the true nature of kindness—and its hidden costs—comes to light. Join us as we unravel the layers of this unconventional film and explore Lanthimos’s signature blend of absurdity and insight. Does Kinds of Kindness manage to captivate with its unique vision, or does it get lost in its own eccentricity? And amid the darkly comedic twists and profound observations, we ask… But Is Kinds of Kindness Good?

Tue, 03 Sep 2024 - 1h 16min - 188 - #178 - Deadpool & Wolverine
This week, we’re gearing up for a superhero showdown of epic proportions with Deadpool & Wolverine (2024)! Directed by Shawn Levy and uniting Ryan Reynolds with Hugh Jackman, this film brings the ultimate antihero duo together in a clash of wit and claws. Deadpool, with his trademark irreverence, and Wolverine, with his gruff demeanor, team up for an action-packed, hilariously chaotic adventure that promises to push both their limits.
When a mysterious new threat emerges, the unlikely pair must put aside their differences and navigate a world full of danger, dysfunction, and dazzlingly self-referential humor. With a supporting cast that includes familiar faces and fresh new characters, this film dives headfirst into a whirlwind of quips, brawls, and unexpected alliances.
As we dissect the dynamic chemistry between Deadpool and Wolverine, and explore the film’s blend of comedy, action, and heartfelt moments, the question remains: Does this reunion live up to the hype, or is it all just a good-natured joke? And among the chaos and camaraderie, we ask… But Is Deadpool & Wolverine Good?

Mon, 26 Aug 2024 - 1h 15min - 187 - #177 - Deadpool
This week, we’re breaking the fourth wall and diving into the irreverent world of Deadpool (2016)! Directed by Tim Miller and starring Ryan Reynolds, this R-rated superhero romp follows Wade Wilson, a former Special Forces operative who becomes the wisecracking antihero known as Deadpool after undergoing an experimental procedure. With his new powers, an arsenal of sass, and a love for breaking the mold, Deadpool sets out to get revenge on the man who nearly ruined his life. Joining Reynolds are Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein, T.J. Miller, and a smattering of delightful, oddball characters. This film is as much a love letter to comic book fans as it is a hilarious, foul-mouthed parody of the superhero genre. Amidst the meta-humor, the absurdity, and the epic action sequences... But Is Deadpool Good?

This week we are reviewing Lee Isaac Chung’s Twisters! Starring Daisy Edgar-Jones, Glen Powell, and Anthony Ramos, this sequel that feels like a remake (or as we like to say, requel) follows an up-and-coming stormchaser eager to make a difference. This week we continue our little impromptu Yorgos Lanthimos with 2018s The Favourite! Starring Olivia Colma, Emma Stone, and Rachel Weisz, this film follows the battle between cousins Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough and Abigail Hill for the favor of the queen, Anne. Loosely (and we mean loosely) based on historical events, this film is a raucously funny period piece driven by its' three female leads. But many questions remain! Is Sarah Churchill, Duchess of Marlborough the heiress of the Marlboro cigarette fortune (Not a sponsor)? (Also, no. We already know the answer to that question - it is no.) How does one treat gout in 18th century Great Britain? (Raw meat, apparently) But... Is The Favourite Good?

The film stars Ryunosuke Kamiki, Minami Hamabe, Yuki Yamada, Munetaka Aoki, Hidetaka Yoshioka, Sakura Ando, Kuranosuke Sasaki, Mio Tanaka, Sae Nagatani, and Godzilla himself. Tue, 12 Dec 2023 - 1h 30min - 158 - #151 - Spirited Away
This week, in anticipation of The Boy and The Heron next week, we review a Studio Ghibli classic - Spirited Away! Directed by Hayao Miyazaki, Spirited Away is a Japanese animated fantasy film. It follows the story of Chihiro, a girl who inadvertently enters the spirit realm and loses her parents there. She must take a job at a bathhouse for the spirits in order to find a way to free both herself and her parents. This film is widely thought to be one of the greatest films of all time, and for good reason. It is a thoughtfully crafted movie with stunning visuals... But Is Spirited Away Good?

Mon, 04 Dec 2023 - 1h 17min - 157 - #150 - Napoleon
This week, we close out Joaquin Phoenix month by reviewing the 100% historically accurate Ridley Scott film - Napoleon! Starring Joaquin Phoenix, Vanessa Kirby, and Tahar Rahim, this film follows the French leader Napoleon Bonaparte's rise and fall, as well as his relationship with Empress Josaphine. The film has received generally positive reviews, however, it has come under fire (haha a war pun) for its historical inaccuracies. But... Is Napoleon Good?
And we are talking about the film here. We are not entering into a debate about whether the actual Napoleon Bonaparte was a good person with pure intentions for the French People. That would just be silly.

This week we continue Joaquin Phoenix Month with a heartwarming film from A24 studios - C'mon C'mon! This film was directed by Mike Mills and stars Joaquin Phoenix, Gaby Hoffman, Scoot McNairy, Molly Webster,, Jaboukie Young-White, and Woody Norman. Aaron and Bryce Dessner did the music, and this really excited Hunter because of their previous collaborations with other musicians he likes. This film follows an uncle and his nephew who are brought together by unforeseen circumstances and learn to coexist and bond, while untangling their own troubles. It is a joy to watch and we think you will enjoy it. But... Is C'mon C'mon Good?

-Oh, sorry. This week, we are continuing Joaquin Phoenix month with Her! This Spike Jonze film (and his solo screenwriting debut) stars Joaquin Phoenix, Amy Adams, Rooney Mara, Olivia Wilde, Scarlett Johansson, and Chris Pratt. The film brings us into the life of Theodore Twombly, a man going through a divorce who falls in love with an AI personal assistant. This is a highly emotional film, and one of our favorites... We start off Joaquin Phoenix month with Paul Thomas Anderson's 2012 film - The Master! Starring Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, Laura Dern, Rami Malek, Jesse Plemons, and more, this film tells the story of Freddie Quell, a WWII veteran with PTSD who struggles to adapt to post-war life. Along his journey, he meets Lancaster Dodd, the leader of a religious cult known as The Cause. Turns out, it is the cause of a whole lot of trouble (heh, that was a joke). This film takes some getting used to, but clearly, it has a powerful message... But Is The Master Good?

Mon, 06 Nov 2023 - 1h 12min - 153 - #146 - The Shining
This week we finish off Spooky Season by discussing Stanley Kubrick's rendition of The Shining! Starring Jack Nicholson, Shelley Duvall, Scatman Crothers, and Danny Lloyd, this film is loosely based on Stephen King's 1977 novel. There are numerous differences, however, and it is all but confirmed that Kubrick brought his own vision to King's backdrop. Jack Nicholson portrays Jack Torrance, a writer who takes a job to watch after a hotel during the off-season for 5 months. He brings his family and when everyone else leaves, things start to get FREAKY. Jack begins the slow descent into madness while his wife and child are just trying to stay alive and stay sane. The level of detailed analysis that people have done on this film over the past 43 years is truly something to behold, and there is undoubtedly a lot to discuss... But Is The Shining Good?

Starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Robert De Niro, Lily Gladstone, Jesse Plemons, Tantoo Cardinal, John Lithgow, and Brendan Fraser, it is the 6th collaboration between DiCaprio and Scorsese and the 10th between De Niro and Scorsese. It is also the 11th and final collaboration between Scorsese and Robbie Robertson, who passed away 2 months before the films release. Written by Steven Spielberg, Michael Grais, and Mark Victor based on a story by Spielberg, this film follows a suburban family who begin experiencing the paranormal in their house. Starring JoBeth Williams, Craig T. Nelson, and Beatrice Straight, Poltergeist was a serious critical and commercial success. It has clowns, ghosts, skeletons, and spooky spooky static... He causes all kinds of mayhem while he is in town, because why not, and is subsequently hunted. It is visually stunning and carries Francis Coppola's footprint... But Is Bram Stoker's Dracula Good?

Mon, 09 Oct 2023 - 1h 08min - 149 - #142 - The Creator
This week we hop on down to Old Los Angeles and New Asia for Gareth Edwards' new film: The Creator! Starring John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, and Allison Janney, this film was proclaimed by Edwards to be "Apocalypse Now meets Blade Runner," which we think may be a bit of a stretch. Set in the future with a war raging between America and Artificial Intelligence, the movie follows Joshua Taylor (John David Washington), some sort of ex-secret agent who is pulled back into the conflict that really messed him up 5 years ago. He has to find some sort of weapon and there aren't many details that we can give beyond this point without spoilerizing the film, so we are going to cut it off here. But... Is The Creator Good?

Mon, 18 Sep 2023 - 1h 38min - 146 - #139 - Blade Runner
Did you know that 3 years ago, Los Angeles became a dystopian retrofuturistic hellscape? Well, neither did we! But this week, we review a film that takes place in this very version of Los Angeles - Namely Blade Runner! This film stars Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Edward James Olmos among others. Based on Philip K. Dick's 'Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?', this film follows Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), who is tasked with finding rogue synthetic humans (also known as Replicants) who have escaped from a space colony and returned to earth. And of all places, they go to Los Angeles. This film explores religious, existential, and humanistic themes and raises a lot of questions for the viewer. We here at BIIG Production, however, are ultimately tasked with answering the ultimate question: But... Is Blade Runner Good?

JUST KIDDING - But we are reviewing Francis Ford Coppola's 1979 masterpiece Apocalypse Now. Loosely based on the novella 'Heart of Darkness' by Joseph Conrad (Which we didn't even MENTION what were we even DOING), this film follows Captain Benjamin Willard (Martin Sheen) and crew on a journey from South Vietnam into Cambodia, on a top secret mission to terminate the command of a disgruntled and presumed insane military officer, Colonel Kurtz (Marlon Brando). Featuring other big names such as Robert Duvall, Lawrence Fishburne and Harrison Ford, this film is a visual masterpiece and a pillar of filmmaking. But... Is Apocalypse Now Good?

Based on the true story of Jann Mardenborough's journey from Gran Turismo player, to real-life race car driver, the film stars Orlando Bloom, David Harbour, Djimon Hounsou, and Archie Madekwe. The film pays tribute to the game series, with many references, easter eggs, and even tracks that players will recognize. But how does it translate into a film? Also Tom Cruise drove a motorcycle off of a cliff and then proceeded to give us the "I love popcorn. Movies. Popcorn." video, so really we all need to support this. And it is easy to do so. Mon, 26 Jun 2023 - 1h 12min - 134 - #127 - The Flash
The time is finally here. After years and years of delays, rumors, rewrites, controversy, and more; "The Flash" has finally arrived. A film that is essentially both an ending and starting point, for the DCEU & the DCU respectively, the hype ballooned to a cartoonish point. The film sees controversial star Ezra Miller return as Barry Allen, along with DCEU veteran Ben Affleck as Batman, then Saha Calle as Supergirl and Michael Keaton's anticipated return as his version of Batman. This week we discuss whether or not this film lives up to the hype, as well as the fascinating impact this film has had on the industry as a whole, and what it means for DC's future, if anything. But ultimately we ask...is the The Flash good?

Tue, 20 Jun 2023 - 1h 42min - 133 - #126 - Batman (1989)
This week, we delve into Tim Burton's Gotham with Batman (1989)! Starring Jack Nicholson, Michael Keaton, Kim Basinger, Robert Wuhl, Pat Hingle, Billy Dee Williams, Michael Gough, and Jack Palance, this film is the first installment in what would become a rather disjointed 4-film Batman series. Featuring a darker Gotham and more serious tone than the Adam West Batman films of the 60s, this film features Bruce Wayne's war on crime and his conflict against The Joker. This Batman iteration was partially influenced by The Killing Joke, The Dark Knight Returns, and Red Hood, and Batman creator Bob Kane worked as a consultant on the film. Campy and goofy as much as it tries to be serious, this film stands out as unique among the slew of Batman entries... But Is Batman Good?

Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, Jessica Chastain, Bill Irwin, Ellen Burstyn, and Michael Caine among others, Nolan takes us on an adventure across space and time. Set in a dystopian future where all the food appears to be corn-based and the last remnants of humanity are struggling to survive, we follow a group of astronauts led by Joseph Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) who travel across the universe in order to find a new home for humans. Tue, 30 May 2023 - 1h 39min - 130 - #123 - The Prestige
This week we continue our mini-series covering a few of Christopher Nolan's films with his 2006 masterpiece - The Prestige! Starring Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall, Andy Serkis, David Bowie, and Piper Perabo, Christopher Nolan takes us on a psychological thriller joyride, based on the 1995 novel of the same name by Christopher Priest. This film follows rival magicians Robert Angier (Hugh Jackman) and Alfred Borden (Christian Bale), who have a long and bitter rivalry over their careers and personal livelihoods, centering on a trick called "The Transported Man." The film brings back Bale and Caine, who worked with Nolan on Batman Begins two years prior. Filled with twists and turns, this is a film that will challenge your ability to reason... But... Is Memento Good? Filled with twists and turns, this film is sure to keep you guessing until its' conclusion. Presented in a non-linear fashion, this film plays with your ability to reason and figure out the truth. He utilizes an elaborate system of photographs and notes (including tattoos) to track information that he knows he will forget soon. A neo-noir mystery psychological thriller film, Memento follows Leonard Shelby (Guy Pearce) - A man who suffers from anterograde amnesia and is unable to form new memories - as he searches for the people who attacked him and his wife. Mon, 15 May 2023 - 1h 10min - 128 - #121 - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3
This week we tackle James Gunn's newest (and last) entry in the MCU - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3! A highly emotional character-based film, this movie picks up where *checks notes* the Guardians of the Galaxy Christmas Special left off. Featuring a star-studded -- almost to the point of feeling bloated -- cast, GOTG3 delivers on all the goofs, gags, and guffaws one comes to expect from a James Gunn entry. A refreshing (wink) if not unpolished film, this does feel like a return to form for the MCU. But with James Gunn departing to head the new DCU, and with this being the first serviceable film to come out of Marvel Studios in the recent past, it is hard to say that this gets the MCU back on track. Nevertheless, this film will deliver on laughs and emotions for the general viewer. But... Is Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Good?

Mon, 08 May 2023 - 1h 17min - 127 - #120 - Midsommar
This week we discuss Ari Aster's Midsommar! Starring Florence Pugh, this is a fun, light-hearted tale about realizing your self-worth, dropping the emotional baggage you bear, and wearing fun new accessories. Just kidding HAHA this film is spooky, a folk horror film about a dysfunctional couple who travels to Sweden and accidentally gets caught up in some sort of weird sexy death cult. Along the way, bad things happen and we get to watch them. But... Is Midsommar Good?
LET THE RECORD REFLECT THIS DAY, MAY 1ST, 2023: We did not explicitly say this on this week's episode, but we would like to nominate this film for the Golden Good award. So that kind of answers the question we asked above, but you should still listen anyways, please.

Mon, 01 May 2023 - 1h 29min - 126 - #119 - Beau is Afraid
This week, we discuss Ari Aster's new film - Beau is Afraid! This film stars Joaquin Phoenix as Beau Wassermann, a soft-spoken man overwhelmed by anxiety and fear who takes a surreal journey to get home to his overbearing mother. Along the way, he confronts some of his greatest fears and learns more about the world, for better or worse. This film can at times feel over-the-top, but it is clear that its message is powerful - If you can catch it. But... Is Beau Is Afraid Good?

Mon, 24 Apr 2023 - 1h 39min - 125 - #118 - American Psycho
This week, we discuss Mary Harron's American Psycho! Based on the 1991 novel by Bret Easton Ellis and starring Christian Bale accompanied by Willem Dafoe, Jared Leto, Josh Lucas, Samantha Mathis, and Reese Witherspoon among others, American Psycho follows Patrick Bateman (Bale), a New York Investment banker by day who is a serial killer by night. There is an idea of American Psycho. Some kind of abstraction. But there is no real movie. Only an entity. Something illusory. And though it can hide its' cold gaze, and you can watch it and see colors with your rods and cones, and maybe you can even sense that the cinematography or tone of the film suits you, it simply is not there. But... Is American Psycho Good?

Mon, 17 Apr 2023 - 1h 38min - 124 - #117 - Air
Hey guys, welcome back to the But Is It Good Podcast. Be sure to smash that like and subscribe button. This week, Hunter and Zach actually went and saw Air in theaters, and now they are going to review it no cap. On God, this movie was straight bussin from start to finish. You probably don’t know, but we did some research and found out that Michael Jordan was actually a real athlete. This movie was no doubt our vibe… But Is Air Good? Stay tuned for Part 2.
Note: this is satire, our impersonation of your average TikTok buckfoi. Please do not mistake this for how we actually talk. Also there is no part 2. That would be dumb, a mere trick to increase engagement. We provide the full product in one, nicely wrapped package for your listening enjoyment.

Mon, 10 Apr 2023 - 1h 28min - 123 - #116 - Shazam! Fury of the Gods
This week we discuss the latest film in the DC Universe - Shazam! Fury of the Gods - directed by David F. Sandberg and starring Zachary Levi, Asher Angel, Grace Caroline Currey, Jack Dylan Grazer, Rachel Zegler, Adam Brody, Ross Butler, Meagan Good, Lucy Liu, Djimon Hounsou, and Helen Mirren. Continuing where the first film left off, this film follows Billy Batson and his family of superheroes (Shazamily) empowered by the magic of the ancient wizard, Shazam. This film has drawn the discontent of many fans who struggle to see how an artifact of a toppled Warner Brothers regime can relate and connect with the new DCEU led by James Gunn. Nonetheless, any film should be able to stand on its' own legs and not rely on the ceaseless industry of interconnected content... right? Does this newest installment have the magic it needs to set itself apart, or has it been disenchanted by the studio circumstance it finds itself in? Listen to find out: But... Is Shazam! And we are here, as we always are, to discuss that very question. That’s right - This week we are reviewing John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum. This week we begin our John Wick series with the first film - John Wick! Starring Keanu Reeves and co-directed Chad Stahelski and David Leitch, who both also worked with Reeves on the Matrix films, this movie follows a legendary hit man who comes out of retirement to seek revenge for the killing of his puppy - a final gift from his departed wife. He gets pulled back into a world of assassins and unleashes the inner remorseless killing machine of his past. A return to action films for Reeves, he carries the film with his energy and mythic performance. But… Is John Wick Good?

Mon, 06 Mar 2023 - 1h 02min - 117 - #111 - Women Talking
This week we discuss Sarah Polley’s Oscar nominated film - Women Talking! Based on a 2018 novel of the same name, which in turn is based on true events at the Manitoba Colony in Bolivia, Women Talking closely follows a group of women in an isolated Mennonite community who have been the victims of both physical and psychological abuse. While the men are away, they tell the women that they have 48 hours to either forgive their abusers, or leave the colony. This film is an act of female imagination. Deliberate, uncompromising, and tough-minded, this film will challenge its viewer. But… Is Women Talking Good?

Mon, 27 Feb 2023 - 1h 16min - 116 - #110 - Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania
This week we dive into the newest MCU release - Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. After a 20 minute opening sequence of classic broken-family failures in communication, Scott Lang and company find themselves somehow stuck in the quantum realm. Oh no, how ever will they get out?! This film is messy from start to finish - an amalgamation of dialogue, characters, and set pieces that just don't seem to belong with one another. And yet, fans continue to line up in droves to be the first to see the newest installment.
Let us be Frank for a moment (normally we are Hunter and Zach). While the source material is nearly endless, the shelf life of the longest-running comic movie series may be reaching its' end. Just like the Pied Piper led rats through the streets, are we destined to dance like marionettes, swaying to the symphony of cinematic mediocrity? Or, to put it another way - But Is Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Good?

This week we're continuing our Oscars series with Ruben Östlund's "Triangle Of Sadness." A black comedy it good? film that pulls no punches, exploring capitalism, class and social status, as well as control, power, and the abuse of that power. And don't forget the puke. And the poop. Lots and lots of it. "Triangle Of Sadness" is nothing short of a wild ride...but is it good??

A high achiever, Lydia seems to have complete control over every aspect of her life. But her brazen attitude and the ghosts of her past cause her life to spiral out of control. Mon, 06 Feb 2023 - 1h 31min - 113 - #107 - All Quiet on the Western Front
This week we review the German anti-war epic: All Quiet on the Western Front! Based on the 1929 book 'Im Western nights Neues,' this film follows Paul Bäumer as a German soldier on the western front during World War I. Paul is quickly faced with the harsh realities of war, destroying his preconceived notions of becoming a war hero. This is a film about survival and the atrocities of war. It has been hailed by critics in the U.S. for it's focus on the futility of war, and decried by critics in Germany as being an unfaithful adaptation of its' source material... After casually creating the highest-grossing film of all time, James Cameron said "Yeah, I think it would be fun to make 4 more of those." 13 years later (and 8 years after it was originally planned for release), the second film in the Avatar series has come out. That's right, kids! This week we are reviewing the nightmare-inducing theatrical production of (not) everyone's favorite musical - Cats! So grab your nicest trashcan and a bottle of pepto bismol and strap in! Seriously, if you don't strap yourself to your couch, you may not make it through the film. This film features an entire civilization of creatures that will make you second guess precisely what your Aunt Ethel means when she says that she "loves cats." Disgusting, Aunt Ethel. Each little gremlin is a narcissist who needs you to know exactly why they are the prettiest, most talented abomination of them all. There is one, much older and eerily familiar creature (Aunt Ethel, is that you?) that chooses which one of the creatures is harvested and repurposed. But... Is Cats Good?

Thank you for joining us this evening. We will be dining on a lovely 10-course meal centered around a particular theme. The theme for this meal is The Menu, Mark Mylod's newest film. Starring Ralph Fiennes, Anya Taylor-Joy, Nicholas Hoult, and others, The Menu follows one fateful night at a famed restaurant located on a private island. They must be adding a lot of flour, because as each course is served, the plot continues to thicken. While it may appear on the surface to be made up of the most basic of ingredients, The Menu is able to serve up something bursting with flavor by the time it comes to an end. But... Is The Menu Good?

Mon, 05 Dec 2022 - 1h 18min - 105 - #100 - The Banshees of Inisherin
Come join us as we venture to the tiny little small island of Inisherin to congregate with the banshees which inhabit the aforementioned island which, as previously mentioned, is small, tiny, and little. Directed by Martin McDonagh, The Banshees of Inisherin follows Pádraic, who didn't think he was rowing with his best mate Colm, but Colm started ignoring him, so maybe they are rowing after all. Or maybe Colm just doesn't like him anymore. This film covers the full breadth of human emotion, beginning as a rather docile, dull affair, and culminating into something possibly more allegorical in its' rage and disobedience. But... Tue, 29 Nov 2022 - 1h 15min - 104 - #99 - Moonage Daydream
In January 1947, a boy named David was born. That boy would go on to become one of the most influential artists of the 20th century. This week we will be discussing Moonage Daydream, an art house documentary exploring the life and works of David Bowie. True to the legacy of Bowie, this film feels experimental at times, pushing the envelope of what it means to create a biography for an artist of Bowie's caliber. Critics have been raving about the film, whereas some fans of Bowie feel as if the film misses the mark or lacks direction. We are here to sort through the pieces and figure out once and for all.... Mon, 21 Nov 2022 - 1h 07min - 103 - #98 - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
This week we dive right into the newest MCU release - Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Highly anticipated after the commercial and critical success of the first Black Panther movie, this movie largely deals with grief after the passing of Chadwick Boseman, who played King T'Challa. Wakanda is faced with threats from the outside world, as well as a new threat before unknown in the MCU. It has all of the usual action and comic relief we have come to expect from Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, but its new additions also raise many questions. It is sure to be the talk of the town... This week we zap back into the DC Universe to discuss Black Adam! Starring Dwayne Johnson as the titular character, this movie centers around Black Adam's return to the never before even mentioned city of Kahndaq. Seen as a threat by the world because of his past, Black Adam is pursued by The Justice Society. Featuring Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Mo Amer, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan, this film holds plenty of the usual super hero movie aspects fans have come to love. It is sure to shake up the power dynamics of the DCU... But Is Black Adam Good?

Mon, 07 Nov 2022 - 1h 18min - 101 - #96 - Halloween Ends
This week we discuss the final installment (please let this be the last one) in the canon Halloween quadrilogy - Halloween Ends! This movie has been a little disappointing for many, being a departure from the normal mold that has propelled the Halloween franchise since 1978. That does not, however, mean that this film cannot stand on its own merits. So, does Halloween set itself up for failure by diverging from the mold, or does it add a refreshing mint leaf to the closure cocktail that is being served in the theater?
