    TRANSCRIPT

Hello flow flow flowers! I'm Fiona and this is episode 2. Escape, relax and lose yourself.
Taking yourself away from everyday worries really is essential to getting lost enough to create. Getting into flow with making is deeply relaxing itself, but you have to relax to get into flow. It’s never easy, is it?

This is going to be unique to you. You might want to do something physical, go for a walk or a run, have a stretch or a big yawn. (YAWNING) I’m really sorry if your yawning now! But it’s good for opening up your throat, getting a bit of oxygen in.

You might prefer to visualise being somewhere completely different. You’ve just been listening to the forest birds in Bratislava… or perhaps  you’d like a tropical  beach in St Croix  (if you’re not on a tropical beach in real life of course!)? I quite like trains because I find them soothing, This one’s a London Overground. The podcast Radio Lento releases wonderful natural soundscapes to change your surroundings while you’re creating.  If you want sound and picture escapism, try Window-swap to look at someone else’s view for a while. I’ll put links to everything in the show notes.

If you prefer something a bit more abstract, white, pink or brown noise is the Neapolitan ice-cream of concentration, going from higher frequencies down to the lower - see which colour works for you to muffle intrusive thoughts.
and have fun with your making!

Twitter has gifted us today the prompt words:
    Dragon  Snow  Flowers

Now your countdown. If you're all set up and you've set your timer, then flow flow flow in 3, 2, 1 go!

  • 1 - Flow Flow Flow Episode 1 - People Like Me Aren't Creators

Flow Flow Flow is micro podcast to get you into the headspace to go into creative 'flow' for wellbeing and joy.
Whatever your favourite creative activity or project, get your tools ready, and set a timer for the length of session you can fit into your day.

The podcast is just 2 minutes long and consists of a down-to-earth encouragement on a theme, three word prompts if you want to use them, and then an exam-style countdown to begin your session. Play it just before starting, and hopefully it'll help to feel confident in making your art or craft.
The episode is accompanied by music and background ambiences.

Thank you for listening and happy creating!

    TRANSCRIPT

Hello flow flow flowers! I'm Fiona. Do you want fit a little space in your life to do something creative that you love? escape your daily worries and enjoy the mental wellbeing of flow - that state of being completely absorbed in an activity, even if it's just for a few minutes? Then you're in the right place for a down-to-earth micro encouragement, three prompt words if you need them (the most abstract I can find from this week's Twitter trends), and an exam style countdown to start your timer if you want a more formal approach.

Episode 1 "People like me aren't creators".
You are here on this planet right now, and you're as entitled to express your experience as any other creature.
The Vogelkop Bowerbird, it sounds like some kind of law enforcement from the Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy, builds a fancy structure from sticks & moss, fruit, flowers and acorns for its Vogelkop Bowerbird lover. Pufferfish swim around on the ocean floor making sand sculptures like sunflowers.

Now, you might not be making things to attract a mate, but the point is - pufferfish just do. Do they worry about not being creators? Well, not that we know of.
Remember when you were a toddler, grabbed a crayon and scribbled with joy at making your own mark on the paper - or possibly wall. Look at whatever tools you have in front of you now - or your hands or voice. You are going to focus on them and use them to make something new in the world. Don't look sideways to compare, don't look forwards to wonder about the quality, stay with them right in the now and just do.

Your 3 words for today are: Net, Cat and World

Now your countdown. If you're all set up and you've set your timer, then flow flow flow in 3, 2, 1 go!
