Wed, 20 Nov 2024 - 5977 - Hour 2: Does the Jewish Bible Point to Jesus?
Christians claim that Jesus is the Messiah, but how can we know if that is true? Jesus revealed the truth about Himself through passages in the Torah, the Prophets, and the Writings—which together comprise the Tanakh (the Old Testament). Messianic Jewish author David Brickner likewise guides us through twelve prophecies from all three sections of the Tanakh to show:
· why God promised a Messiah.
· how God planned to bless the whole world through the Jewish people.
· the location and strange circumstances of the Messiah's birth.
· how and why the Messiah would suffer and die.
· how the Messiah would exceed human limitations . . . and more.

Tue, 19 Nov 2024 - 5976 - Hour 1: Dead Air
On a warm Halloween Eve, October 30, 1938, during a broadcast of H. G. Wells’ War of the Worlds, a twenty-three-year-old Orson Welles held his hands up for radio silence in the CBS studio in New York City while millions of people ran out into the night screaming, grabbed shotguns, drove off in cars, and hid in basements, attics, or anywhere they could find to get away from Martians intent on exterminating the human race. As Welles held up his hands to his fellow actors, musicians, and sound technicians, he turned six seconds of radio silence—dead air—into absolute horror, changing the way the world would view media forever, and making himself one of the most famous men in America. Join us to hear the story of how one broadcast changed broadcasting history forever.

Sat, 16 Nov 2024 - 5972 - Hour 2: His Light In Our Darkness
We paused at the start of the week to honor our men and women in uniform and the sacrifices they have made to secure our freedom. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we looked at potential changes that could be coming to the U.S. military under the new Presidential administration and a biblically based, transformative program providing hope and new directions for veterans coming home and suffering with the challenges of PTSD while trying to rebuild their lives after war. We took another radio flight to the land down under and visited with our favorite Scottish apologist who had much to say about the European reaction to presidential election here in the United States. He also told about some very concerning censorship rules that may be forced on people in that country and he addressed the resignation of a major European religious figure whose controversial views have led a once honorable church far from biblical truth in recent years. With the right words even a life can sound like the truth. How can we discern deception when it is presented with sincerity or reasonable sounding facts to back it up? Our guest, a respected pastor, gave us some practical guidance to help us see the truth behind the deceptions and to enable us to take an unwavering stand for the truth. Subtle bias has become outrage in our streets as jews in many parts of this country, Europe and around the world have become targets for prejudice and violence in ways we have not seen since before World War II. Why is this happening and what can we do as followers of Christ to combat this increasing tide of Jewish hatred around us? One of the leaders of a revered messianic Christian organization about the increase of antisemitism around the world, our responsibilities toward it and some practical steps we can take to stand up for God’s chosen people during these very uncertain times. Once again our favorite husband and wife team are standing on the wall to warn us about the mistruths circulating out there as they continue teaching us how to read, understand and discern the truth in the news headlines of the week.

Sat, 16 Nov 2024 - 5971 - Hour 1: His Peace In Our Storms
No matter how old you are, navigating your parent’s divorce is not easy. On In The Market with Janet Parshall week we spoke our favorite expert on marriage and family matters who helped us understand the challenges of being an adult child of divorced parents including some of the most common reasons for divorce, the ways it leaves a lasting impact on your life and how to lean of God to get you through this family altering experience. Emotions are not all they are cracked up to be. For all the wonderful good they bring to our lives they also can create stress, self-doubt and uncertainty. But what if there was a way to better manage our emotions based in both science and God’s word? Our guest helped us understand why we were given emotions, explained an emotion management model that we can use and shared how to use that model to not only handle our emotions better but to draw closer to God in process. Whether you call them a deceiver, a “gaslighter” or a master manipulator, the impact of a toxic person in your life can be devastating. But we spoke to respected expert on mental health and well being to get a better understanding of what a toxic person is, what leads to this sort of behavior and how to lean on your own discernment with the Lord’s guidance to help you navigate this most challenging of personality types. Much of the “well-being” advice we hear today is self-focused and self-driven and while it sounds good to us at first blush the practical reality is that it fails because it ignores God. This is especially true with the claims of progressive Christianity flooding many of the churches in America today. Our guest, a respected apologist, addressed stripped away the veneer of these teachings to reveal not only their inadequacy but to emphasize the power of God’s truth and the importance of finding our value and life purpose in His plans for us. As we close out another week turn our attention to more of the news making headlines this week and put it under the magnifying truth of God’s word.

Parents today are dealing with challenges that their parents could never have imagined, not the least of which is the impact and influence of the digital world. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week our guest explained the importance of regulating screen time for your children, the importance of parents setting the example for their kids and implementing protections against predators. One of today’s most respected evangelists talked about his new book detailing scientific facts found in the Bible. He also talked about the most effective way to share the gospel message with others, why he always carries tracs with him wherever he goes and the launch of a new ministry that puts solid, enriching Christian content just a click away. Sat, 26 Oct 2024 - 5940 - Hour 2: Standing For Your Faith
How far down do we have to go before we turn our hearts toward God? On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we heard one woman’s story of alcohol addiction and resistance that nearly ended her life before she surrendered and found true freedom and permanent life change with God. She explained the common misconception between just coping with an addiction and finding and living in real, transformative change. As we’ve been saying over the last few weeks, believers have roles to play in the upcoming elections and one of those roles is to pray. Our guest told us how we can join a national prayer event on the night before the elections as thousands join their hearts to lift up this nation before the throne of grace. We also heard more powerful stories of believers who are willing to die for their faith in the persecuted church around the world and gave you an update on a special day being set aside to pray for persecuted believers around the world. We gave you the opportunity to take your mind off the unending schedules we all live with daily and turn your heart toward the promise of eternity with Jesus. Our guest shared wonderful, biblical truths about life in our eternal home and tackled some of the most intriguing topics surrounding Heaven including the original rebellion of Lucifer against God, how are rewards handled in Heaven, what happened to the O.T. saints when they died and most importantly how to make sure that you can be sure that Heaven is your eternal home. Once again our phones stayed busy as you brought your most challenging and perplexing spiritual warfare questions to our favorite expert and teacher. He took on those challenging questions as he always does by drawing back to the Word of God and sharing his experiences of being on the front lines of the spiritual warfare battle. It is easy to get overwhelmed by the news that we get bombarded with daily. Wed, 23 Oct 2024 - 5935 - Hour 1: Van Gogh Has A Broken Heart
Did you know that:
· Vincent van Gogh's attempt to start an artist's colony with Paul Gauguin lasted only nine weeks, ending in his infamous "ear episode"?
· Pablo Picasso was a prime suspect in the disappearance of the Mona Lisa?
· Artemisia Gentileschi was tortured with thumbscrews to verify her testimony at her own rapist's trial?
· Norman Rockwell's critics said his work would never be accepted as "high art"--and he agreed?
These stories--and many more--shaped the work these artists left behind. In their art are lessons common to the human experience about the wonder and struggle of being alive: dreams lost, perspectives changed, and humility derived through suffering.
Russ Ramsey will join us to dig into these artists' stories to mine the transcendent beauty and hard lessons we can take from their masterpieces and their lives. Each story from some of history's most celebrated artists applies the beauty of the Gospel in a way that speaks to the suffering and hope we all face.

Sat, 19 Oct 2024 - 5929 - Hour 2: Unblemished Hope
Who are the greatest group of influencers on all of our lives? It’s not politicians or sports figures, it is the men and women who work in Hollywood and the entertainment industry. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we kicked off the week with a visit from our favorite missionary to Hollywood who helped us update our prayer lists for those who standing for the faith in Hollywood. She told us about an upcoming discipleship program for industry professionals that promises to be life changing and help build spiritual muscles for those face the challenges of living out their faith in the land of make believe. She also spoke on the Sean Combs sex scandal and encouraged us to pray for those impacted by his influence in their lives. The privacy of the internet has increased the use of pornography even among Christians. We spoke to a man whose ministry is helping people end their addiction and find real life change and restoration in their lives. Once again we turned to our national security expert who continued his ongoing warnings about the methodical movements of China toward world domination. He told us how China continues its aggressive buildup of nuclear weapons, why 154 warships recently surrounded the island nations of Taiwan and China’s president has forced churches to remove images of the Savior and replace them with his own image. A former atheist and investigative journalist addressed on the biggest questions that people wrestle with, Is God real? Pulling from many different sources and grounding his investigation in God’s word he addressed some of the most common questions people raise about God’s existence including the reason for suffering, why God seems hidden and whether or not science supports the existence of a sovereign, omnipotent, eternal being. Could there be a link between a person’s worldview and their anxiety and mental well-being? Once again we invited a respected fact finder to share the results of recent study that reveals the link between an anti-biblical worldview and mental illness. Your grandparents would never have believed this was possible, but we told you about the efforts of some animal rights activists to make it possible for elephants to sue in court over claims they are suffering in one city’s zoo and should be released. Now it is time to think critically and biblically as we help you see past the rhetoric to the real truth as we examine the headlines of the week.

Fri, 18 Oct 2024 - 5928 - Hour 1: Unvarnished Truth
On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week our guest, a respected bible teacher, took us deep into the scriptures to answer your questions and reveal the mystery and beauty of God’s truth by tackling some of the most common and most challenging questions that all believers wrestle with. In the fight for the unborn, pregnancy help centers have been a vital safe haven for women who are struggling with the decision to keep or abort their baby. But we spoke to a legal expert who explained the efforts of the attorney general of one state to prohibit these vital agencies from revealing the damaging truth about the abortion pill that is being pushed as an alternative to a surgical procedure. Then we turned to another guest who is on the frontlines in the fight for the preborn who explained the cartel system that is operating in the shadows to illegally supply these drugs to mothers through the U.S. postal system. Just why do so many Christians choose not to get involved in politics, especially at a time when their voice is needed like never before? Janet and her guest discussed the myths that many believers have accepted as true that keep them from taking part in the political process, why we should always vote for the right policies and how we can use, even our challenged political process to achieve good aims. As November approaches Christians across the nation are sincerely wondering if their votes counts and whether they should go to the polls or not. Our guest explained the biblical reason why believers must get make their voice heard through the ballot box and the dire consequences to our nation if we don’t. With all the unrest around the world and in our own country, now more than ever we need a strong biblical perspective on what is going on around us. That’s why we invite you to join our favorite husband and wife team as they demonstrate how to use God’s truth to reveal the lies and measure the inaccuracies being fed to us daily by the media.

Mon, 30 Sep 2024 - 5896 - Hour 2: Where We Find Our Hope
The political climate is fraught with tension today and that has led some believers to decide against voting at all in the upcoming election. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we spoke with an expert who helped us understand why Christians need to vote and introduced us to an important voting tool. Then we heard from a nationally recognized film and television producer in both the Christian and secular arenas who told about his new film on the life of 20th Century Christian martyr Dietrich Bonhoeffer who was more than just a pastor but was also a spy attempting to bring down the Nazi regime. What does physical imprisonment have to do with spiritual imprisonment? We heard from a man who shared the lessons he learned in a prison cell and how they apply to the imprisoned hearts and lives many people struggle with. He explained what led his life down that path and the powerful life transforming truths that God is using through him to bring healing and restoration to others. One of God’s faithful ministers to the Islamic world joined us for a report from the front lines of the conflict in the Middle East. He addressed the failure of the U.N. to fully implement an important resolution, some surprising reports of the people of Lebanon growing frustration with heavy hand of Hezbollah and more stories of God at work in that part of the world. Then we turned our attention to the ongoing efforts of the World Health Organization to take away our national sovereignty by force, the extreme danger is they succeed and what we can do to stand against it. When the times get really dark in our lives and you face a deep valley of uncertainty how to find true strength and peace to walk through that valley? Our guest faced a life and death crisis and in that experience he learned what it really means to lean hard of God and discover His deep and abiding peace and strength to carry you through. He shared his transforming experiences and insights with us. Our need to be discerning with the news we here daily never stops so join us for another master class in applying God’s immutable truth to the headlines of the week.

Fri, 27 Sep 2024 - 5895 - Hour 1: Where We Find Our Peace
In the center of all the turmoil in Iran today, God’s invisible hand is at work. On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we had another timely conversation with a man whom God has called to minister His eternal message of hope his native Iranians. He explained the new proposal from Iran’s president to Israel and why NOW is the time that Iranian hearts are open to hear the Gospel. You kept our phones busy with another faith building yet challenging conversation about the invisible war taking place all around us. Our expert on spiritual warfare continued to provide solid, biblically grounded answers to the questions that continue to intrigue us all. Speaking of the invisible world, we spoke to a beloved apologist who addressed the world after death. He took us to God’s word to help us understand what the Bible says about the afterlife and what awaits believers beyond this veil of tears. A new movie captures the story of a high school football coach who gained national attention for refusing to compromise his faith and commitment to God. We gave you the opportunity to hear directly from this man whose stance took him all the way to the highest court in the land. Then we dug deeper into why today’s young people are abandoning the church, why this is so serious and what can be done to turn the tide. We’ve come to the end of the week and it is time to sharpen our skills as we enter once again into the radio classroom and our favorite husband and wife team comminute teaching us how to apply God’s word correctly to the ongoing challenges presented in the news of the week.

Detractors claim the institution is antiquated and impedes democracy, but our guest, a lawyer and constitutional scholar, argues that the Electoral College is the best defense of America's constitutional republic. Join us to hear a winning argument for a necessary protection against "rigged" party elections, coastal elites, and DC insiders who wish to make a career of unchecked ambition.

Then, "Young people are leaving the church." As adult believers, we hear these words with dismay. Sat, 21 Sep 2024 - 5885 - Hour 2: Faith Unbroken
The polarization of the Middle East has never been more apparent than we continue to see it in the news every day. OnIn The Market with Janet Parshall this week we talked to two respected bible teachers to get a better understanding of why Israel is the target of so much hatred and the indispensable role that small nation plays in God’s mighty prophetic plan for all mankind. They also addressed some of the most prominent issues that always come up related to End Times events such as the role of Russia & China in these events, the destabilizing of Europe that we are seeing today and where if anywhere the United States is in these End Times events. The church at large was not prepared for the challenges that came to its doorstep from the rise of the LGBT movement. We heard from a missionary to that community who shared her life experience and insight as a former gay woman to teach us how to navigate that challenges this movement continues to present to the Church and how to love them with the truth that can lead them to salvation and transformation. Jesus is not soft. His words have always been meant to challenge our thinking and lead us toward conviction, repentance and salvation. But in our self-driven, self-affirming world of today people easily take offense at His words of life and instead seek a Jesus that better fits their ideas of a “love-only “ Savior. Our guest opened up some the hardest words that Jesus ever spoke to reveal His heart of compassion and His unflinching willingness to make us uncomfortable in order to lead us to salvation. Is it possible that there are more people who are willing to listen to the message of the Gospel than we are typically led to believe by the media of today? Our guest challenged this commonly held belief and taught us how to bridge the common gaps between belief systems and how to find open hearts willing to listen our message of hope. Class is back in session as we join Janet and Craig for another important lesson on how to use the wisdom of God’s word as a measuring stick against the often confusing news and opinions in the marketplace of ideas today.

Fri, 20 Sep 2024 - 5884 - Hour 1: Hope Undaunted
On In The Market with Janet Parshall this week we updated you on where things stand with the Biden administration Title IX rule rewrite and why some states are fighting to protect women’s sports from this massive infringement. We also addressed what resources are available to parents to protect their children as more and more legal and societal changes are being used to undermine traditional family values. How do you walk through the deep valley of grief? A pastor joined us to share the often painful but instructive journey he and his family experienced when his wife received a terminal diagnosis. He shared how they found the strength they needed through the abiding truth of God’s word. Abortion continues to be a hot button issue as we head toward November. Our guest addressed the challenges of an abortion initiative in Nebraska and how it could impact the ongoing fight to protect the lives of the unborn. We also took a step back in time for an enlightening conversation on the key figures from the 1960’s that changed our nation’s culture, how we stumbled together to the society that we live in today and what we can do to restore the American dream of our forefathers. What is it like to walk in the footsteps of Paul and spend your life sharing the hope of the gospel message on the streets? A respected evangelist shared his personal story and the important lessons he’s learned from sharing the hope of Heaven for 50 years to people from all walks of life. It’s time once again to think critically and biblically as we examine the news of the week through the unchanging lens of scripture.

The majority are open---even curious---about spiritual matters. Thu, 19 Sep 2024 - 5882 - Hour 1: A Life Well Spent
Amid a godless culture, Paul did what was necessary to reach the masses with the message of everlasting life: he reasoned about Jesus “in the marketplace daily with those who happened to be there” (Acts 17:17) and he found a hill to preach on. We too are living in a godless society, and those in the streets desperately need to hear God’s Word. If we are serious about reaching this dying world, let us emulate Jesus and the apostles and preach where sinners gather. In thirty minutes, a good open-air preacher can reach more unsaved people than the average church does in a year. For more than fifty years Ray Comfort has preached the gospel in the open air and witnessed one-to-one to thousands. During those years he has learned certain biblical principles that make reaching the lost so much easier.

Thu, 19 Sep 2024 - 5881 - Hour 2: A Sharp Compassion
According to Google, the phrase “I’m offended” has increased in usage by more than 5,600% in just the past century. Humans have always taken offense, but never have we been so obsessed with it. Offense stunts our conversations and divides our relationships. It infects our families, politics, entertainment, and churches. Yet few seem to be asking why or what it might be costing us. Today we look closely at some of Jesus’ most challenging words. Discover a Savior willing to risk offending you to heal you from your deepest insecurities. Because His love is great, His truths are often hard, and His compassion sharp. But perhaps it’s Jesus’ hard words we need most right now.

Wed, 18 Sep 2024 - 5880 - Hour 1: Life and Liberty
We start this hour by discussing yet another state’s battle on the topic of abortion. This time our sites are set on Nebraska and the issue voters will face in that state. Then author Tim Goeglein looks at the philosophies and policies that led to the societal earthquake of the 1960s and how those philosophies and policies have led to the cataclysm America faces today. He offers a blueprint for rejecting those philosophies and policies by returning to the core values upon which America was built: personal responsibility, respect for life, sexual restraint, and patriotism.
