In our season finale, as a disturbing spring makes way for summer, answers are due from the water polo fraternity.

The fallout from a News24/My Only Story live investigation has deepened, with yet another water polo coach suspended in the last week.

While sifting through embattled water polo coach David Mackenzie's past, Joburg writer Deon Wiggett found more hidden skeletons and closely guarded evidence that pushed him to investigate the behaviours of teachers outside St Andrew's College in Makhanda.

Former pupils of under-fire school water polo coach David Mackenzie have come forward with allegations of inappropriate touching and intimidation. "If I knew what I knew now back then, then I definitely would have spoken to someone or spoken up about it because it was inappropriate and it was wrong," says a former St Andrew's College (SAC) pupil who joined the school in Grade 8 in 2017.

A top South African water polo coach and mathematics teacher abruptly resigned from the prestigious St Andrew's College all-boys' school in the Eastern Cape after unlawfully sneaking a boy into his room one night. Despite disturbing evidence of inappropriate behaviour, the teacher moved to another boys' school in the same year, and is currently teaching at a yet another private school in Johannesburg.
