Programme Maker

New Zealand is home to not a single mammal but the bat! Incredible, yet, while it is only home to one mammal, there have been many new mammalian visitors in recent times which have caused much chaos for the country's residents. ‘Native New Zealand’ explores the fauna through the naked eye, as well as the microscope, as we dive deeper into how their lives have been demolished, but are being built back up, brick by brick by a few fantastic people around the country. Follow me, Kevin Thiele, as I teach you about the Tuatara, Kiwi, and Kaka, while interviewing some top specialists in the field about the brutal state of their populations and how they are slowly, but steadily recovering them.
