    Scotty P

Scott J Prendergast is a full-time inspirational speaker and mental health advocate based in Philadelphia, PA. A graduate of Temple University, Scott speaks about the importance of acknowledging mental health in society, and encourages techniques to overcome the everyday mental obstacles that hold us back in life. Scott travels across the country speaking to audiences ranging from high school students, to adults, while sharing his own story of hope and resilience in learning to overcome depression. Scott uses a practical approach of mindful strategies combined with a compassionate touch to help others validate their own feelings, and work towards moving past them. You can find out more about Scott by going to www.scottypinspiration.com.

    Ev

Evan Transue dealt with severe mental health issues from the age of 5 until 18. Due to an unintentional lack of recognition of these problems, Evan did not receive proper treatment until 18 years old. After getting kicked out of school, sent to juvie, and spending his 18th birthday on house arrest, Evan had his “aha” moment that led him to realize he needed to change his path. After finally getting his mental health issues addressed, he knew what he had to do: share his story with others who were suffering so they never had to go through what he did.

Now, Evan goes around the country speaking to middle school and high school students, as well as incoming college freshmen. Using his lived experiences, he connects with his audiences to encourage them to speak up about the mental health challenges they may be facing in silence. While Evan is aware that we might not be able to stop mental health issues overall, he does believe we do NOT need to live in a world where young people find themselves in crisis situations.
