An in depth review of the new album from JoJo “trying not to think about it.” JoJo back and showing consistency in her album releases. I would love to get something new from her every year. Her growth in the game is incredible and release after release she gains more R&B fans that saw her only as a Pop Star. That was bound to happen when you have a voice like hers. The album has some certified heaters, as well as a few interludes that I wish were longer 🙁 but that doesn’t stop her from getting off a grown and sexy vibe and providing anthems for various relationship situations. An in depth review of the new Alicia Keys album “Alicia.” Alicia Keyes has got talent coming out of her ears. Quality singer, great piano player and pretty good song writer. Her first 3-5 albums were great and had a good mix of love, Party, and impactful music. Over the past two albums she’s went in a different direction. It seems like she is trying to give people therapy through music trying to get people to live their lives the right way and live their truth. I feel like she has slowly gone away from what worked for her so well earlier in her career. An in depth review of Jhene Aiko’s deluxe version of her most recent album “Chilombo.” Ms. Aiko continues to stay consistent and provide us with three types of music: Relaxing Music, Party Music and Stroke Songs. An artist whose music sounds good on any day and sounds current in any year over the past 20, he hasn’t lost a step. An in depth review of Teyana Taylor’s new album “The Album.” Two years since her last release, KTSE, Teyana Taylor is back and better than ever with a 23 song effort that shows that she was really putting in work during her hiatus. An in depth review of Singer/Songwriter Eric Bellinger’s new album “The Rebirth II.” Eric provides the game with new sounds, cadences and crazy lyric keeping us on our toes throughout the album. An in depth review of the throw back soul group Durand Jones and the Indications new album “American Love Call.” For the past 3 weeks I have been enamored with the music that I’ve heard from this group. From the angelic falsetto of Aaron Frazer, the harmonies of the band and the powerful vocals of Mr. Jones this group has taken me back in a time machine to a simpler time where Love and Life were the only things on the musical menu. Each song is better than the last and honestly I didn’t want this album to end, but all good things do. There were some bright spots and a few dark corners but I can see that the talent is there.
