It happened in 1917 in Portugal. It was called a Marian Apparition by the Catholic Church. In this week’s Dreamland Portuguese Fatima expert Francisco Mourão Corrêa takes us through the story of what was happened the first and most witnessed UFO event in modern times. Why did it happen when it did? Were any of the Fatima secrets real? What was behind the Church’s decision to declare the event a Marian apparition when 50,000 people (including a priest Whitley met in the 1970s) had seen something in the sky that was said to be the “sun dancing” but which, as the witness told Whitley, “was clearly something else,” which he characterized as a UFO.
