David became the king of Israel because God was looking for "a man after God's own heart." But over time, his sensitivity to the Lord's presence diminished and he committed a very damaging public sin that brought great pain into his family and to his legacy. If we are not sharing the gospel with people as frequently or as boldly as we hope to, then we should seek to understand the lies that we are believing, and work to replace those lies with the truth.

His answer in these stories was that when you lose something you deeply care about, nothing is more important than finding what was lost. Learning to be thankful amidst the difficulties we face in our world is the key to unlocking the supernaturally energized mind that God has called us to have.

This is the final message in a five-part series called, Purifying the Heart. In 1 Corinthians 10:10, Paul says that we must not "grumble, as some of them did and were destroyed by the Destroyer." There are many examples of grumbling in the Old Testament, but the example Paul is specifically referring to is Korah's rebellion.
