19 March 2023 | All of us face a certain degree of emotional exhaustion. We need to understand is that God is, in an of himself, an emotional being. In other words, emotions are not in the first instance a human characteristic but a divine one. God has the ability to not only think and to will but also to feel. Scripture reveals a whole host of emotions God has – love, joy, peace, anger, compassion, passion, frustration, good. Because he has made us in His image, humans are also emotional beings. But of course we know that our emotions, like our minds and bodies, are influenced greatly by the fall of humanity into sin. God’s emotions are not impacted nor shaped by sin, but ours are.

There are so many times in the biblical narrative where God renames something, or does a play on word with names. Jesus did the same as he tried to speak a purpose over someone or release in them new hope. So God does so in Isaiah 62. He says that Israel will be called by a new name, one that now resembles the character they will have in the future.
Thu, 09 Feb 2023 - 44min - 154 - A New Song - Will You See - Ps Promise Armstrong
29 January 2023 | When God moves in a new way and does a new thing, it always will result in us joining him in a new proclamation. His new action leads to our new song. A song that echoes the new work he is doing, and hence is ‘new’ itself. And that song is worship, it is glorification of God and it is drawing to attention the new work of God around us. God puts these new songs in us, so we can praise and glorify him in a way that is relevant to what he is doing

However, the “new” that happens is not something we do but something God does. Our role is to perceive it, to see it and then to respond to it. We are only able to embrace God’s new thing in 2023 if we let go of the box, we have put God into. Can we open our eyes and perceive the brand new without filter or expectation? Will we see?

Mon, 16 May 2022 - 53min - 117 - REOPENED – Makers of Peace
8 May 2022 | This Sunday concluding the REOPENED sermon series we look at our roles in our society. ‘Blessed are the peacemakers’ Jesus said— but what does that entail for us to become ‘makers’ of peace, instead of mere keepers of peace? Ps Andrew shares on this profound and challenging role we must take as children of God. In this special presentation, Andrew Gardener offers some answers to these questions through a personal examination of one of the most important elements of our shared human experience - the power of suffering love. Could it be there is an inherent relationship in our world between suffering and love and that, paradoxically, it is in times of great suffering that we can truly know the deepest and most profound encounters of love?

In this special presentation, Andrew Gardener offers some answers to these questions through a personal examination of one of the most important elements of our shared human experience - the power of suffering love. Could it be there is an inherent relationship in our world between suffering and love and that, paradoxically, it is in times of great suffering that we can truly know the deepest and most profound encounters of love?

24 April 2022 | This Sunday as we reopen for in-person gatherings again, we explore various areas in our lives that we may also need to ‘reopen’ to. How then, do we heal, and become vessels of healing to those around us? In this special presentation, Andrew Gardener offers some answers to these questions through a personal examination of one of the most important elements of our shared human experience - the power of suffering love. Could it be there is an inherent relationship in our world between suffering and love and that, paradoxically, it is in times of great suffering that we can truly know the deepest and most profound encounters of love?
Mon, 25 Apr 2022 - 40min - 114 - Easter Sunday Podcast
In our world right now we all have some critical questions: What exactly is going on? How do we make sense of all this uncertainty and fear we all have? How are we able to find a grounded sense of our humanity when everything around us feels like it is spinning out of control? How do we as humans find hope in seasons of great turmoil, and is that hope true, lasting, and real? In this special presentation, Andrew Gardener offers some answers to these questions through a personal examination of one of the most important elements of our shared human experience - the power of suffering love. Could it be there is an inherent relationship in our world between suffering and love and that, paradoxically, it is in times of great suffering that we can truly know the deepest and most profound encounters of love?
