My friends and I used to skip school and go to the video arcade. The sense of freedom I had when I got my drivers license was unmatched. Riding the bus to school was the worst. When I was in school, the teachers would hit us with rulers. My parents were emphatic in their religious beliefs. My family used to have an annual reunion. We used to go fishing at the river most Sundays. For my birthday, all my extended family members would come over. I’m still recovering from my childhood. When I was in college I loved going to rock concerts. My taste in music has changed so much over the years. I have traveled to 15 different countries. I still remember the first time I saw the ocean. There are some freedoms I miss about childhood. Mostly I just love being an adult!

Contact us with feedback and ideas: languagelearningaccelerator@gmail.com Phrases in this episode: The world is changing faster than ever. Now is a good time to rethink assumptions about the inability to change the world. Before criticizing the world, I make my own bed. The world needs enthusiasm. Anybody that loves anything is cool. Optimists tend to be successful and pessimists tend to be right. As people experience fewer problems, we don't become more satisfied, we begin searching for new problems. I have many flaws, like anybody, except perhaps a few more. I love doing difficult things with other people who want to do difficult things. In life we must choose our regrets. You can have anything but you can't have everything. People who focus on what they want rarely get what they want. People who focus on what they have to offer get what they want. If you make beautiful choices, you are beautiful. You don't truly know what you think until you write it down. Only that which is measured can be optimized. When a measure becomes an outcome it ceases to be a good measure. If you don't know where you're going, it doesn't matter which path you take. Consistency doesn't guarantee you will be successful. But inconsistency will guarantee that you won't be successful. Sometimes the demand for answers outstrips the supply. Sometimes things happen without anyone involved wanting it to. A friend invites you to a wedding, despite not wanting you there, because he thinks you want to attend. You attend the wedding, despite not wanting to, because you think he wants you there. One sentence that everyone should believe about themselves. I'm enough. I love aging and dying.

Only by error do we learn. And by observation. Error and observation. Observe more! Now I can only ask for forgiveness. How we feel about something is often determined by the story we tell ourselves about it. The story people tell us about themselves tells us little about who they are, and much about who they want us to believe they are. The ability to delay gratification is a predictor of success in life. I leave the last bite of something tasty to make future-me love current-me. Delayed gratification at the extreme is no gratification. If you can't be happy with a coffee, then you can't be happy with a yacht. The first rule of winning the game is to stop moving the goalposts Everything should be made as simple as possible, but not simpler. I would rather have questions that can't be answered than answers that can't be questioned. My mind is made up of an elephant and a rider. Only by doing things the elephant dislikes will I know if the rider is in control. I end every hot shower with 1 minute of cold water. The elephant never wants to do it, the rider always does. Discipline is the act of proving to yourself that you can trust yourself. Discipline is freedom. Discipline must be practiced, in small and big ways. Self esteem is a mountain made of layers of paint. Not everything has to be so serious. When you bring the fun, the world appreciates it. Have you ever thought about how scary the ocean would be if fish could scream?

Electricity is a form of energy resulting from the movement of electrons. Electrons are negatively charged particles found within atoms, which make up matter.
