Fri, 30 Jun 2023 - 25min - 81 - Brandpunt The truth about addiction
Brandpunt spoke to Dr Ado Krige from House Regeneration about the dangers of addiction and also share a testimony of some one we'll just call Michael. https://www.hr7.co.za/ Dr W.A. Krige Founding Director In 1985, 24 years before the birth of the first regeneration centre, Ado started working with drug addicts in the streets of Pretoria. Over the next two decades his vision would reach out to thousands of people of all ages, nations, creeds and colour suffering from substance abuse throughout Southern Africa. Ado wanted to share with others the good news of how he had been set free from his own drug addictions, and was fully convinced that this news would be able to break the chains that holds many in bondage today….. Ado would spend the next 25 years studying, researching, coaching and helping others in the area of overcoming substance abuse through the love and power found in the Word of God. After extensively talking to, and counselling people throughout South Africa, he realised the largest contributing factor keeping people away from living a life in freedom was their own mind sets and belief systems. Being totally and completely sold on the truth of Jesus Christ, Ado would then set off to find a purely bible based and addict centred approach to therapy. Eventually he enrolled in an online B. Min degree and later on was allowed to enroll in Therapon University for a PhD in Biblical Counseling with Belief Therapy as a major. You can get more information about Belief Therapy from our “The Program” page. Dr Krige did not stop at this, he went on to study, and apply various different therapy methodologies from authorities in the field of biblical therapy, amongst others are Dr. Jay Adams, Dr. Wayne Mack, John C Broger and Adam Pulaski. A synergy of 25 odd years of counseling together with these studies specifically aimed at biblical counseling for substance dependency, have become what is today the voice of Dr Ado Krige. Dr Krige has become an authority in his own right on this subject in Southern Africa and can regularly be seen and heard on South African T.V and radio talk shows. He is also well respected by various church organisations nationally as an expert on combating drug addiction, satanism and witchcraft.

Fri, 09 Jun 2023 - 25min - 78 - Geweld in opvoedkundinge instellings

Fri, 14 Oct 2022 - 19min - 66 - The Multi Cultural Church in South Africa
The church is called to be both an instrument and sign of the kingdom of God. As an instrument, the church is God’s agent in the world showing and sharing the love of Jesus to a broken and hurting world. And as a sign, the church points to the kingdom of God, acting as a credible witness to its reality and power. People are supposed to look at the church and say, “That’s what the kingdom of God looks like.” In this sense, it’s a window into the kingdom encouraging others to join the fellowship of faith, bound together in Christ. Revelation 7 says men and women will gather around the throne of God for eternity, and they will come from every tribe, tongue, and nation. But when we look across the landscape of churches around the world and in South Africa in particular , most are far too monocultural. There’s a lot of talk in our churches and among pastors, leaders, and scholars about the need for our churches to be more multi-ethnic and multicultural. But it’s not often accomplished. Pursuing diversity is a good thing. But we must be clear what we are talking about. A church can be multi-ethnic if it has persons of different ethnic backgrounds who attend. But if people of various ethnic groups listen to the same music, eat the same foods, hang out at the same entertainment venues, and go to church together, that’s not multicultural. They have assimilated to a common culture. It may be multi-ethnic, but it’s still monocultural. Join Brandpunt this morning in the pursuit of God’s multi-cultural church here on earth.

Fri, 22 Jul 2022 - 22min - 57 - Pastor Edward Kannaih Calvary Baptist church on the topic of moral spiritual ethics and real life dilemmas
We sometimes face complex situations with no clear right choice. What should Christians do when confronted with spiritual, moral or ethical dilemmas? Have you ever been in a lose-lose situation? Or a catch-22? Or even, dare we say, a jam or a pickle? Ever been between a rock and a hard place? Have you ever had to choose between the lesser of two evils? Whatever idiom we use to label the experience, we no doubt have all had dilemmas in our lives in which there seemed to be no way to do the right or ethical thing. No pros, all cons. No saving grace or silver lining, only a seemingly impossible choice. There can be many reasons we find ourselves in these types of situations: • We are trying to protect our loved ones, or even strangers, from harm or suffering. • We have limited time, limited resources and limited information for making a decision. • We want to keep ourselves from harm or suffering, as well as hardship. • We see a possible threat to our family’s basic human needs, and we have to react. So that being said, lets think of some familiar real life examples of ethical dilemmas • We are in legal and financial troubles. Lying will help us get out of them, but lying is wrong (Exodus 20:16). I need to protect and provide for my family and make sure they are okay. I have no choice. I’ll lie and repent later. o Where’s the justice and love for those we lie to? Where is the repentance and seeking God’s help? Where is the search for other solutions? • My manager tells me to wear a pin on my work uniform that denotes an ideological or activist stance that the company is supporting but that the Bible says is wrong. I know that doing so would cause people to think I support that cause (which I don’t). I will never be able to find another job that works around my schedule. I don’t want people to think I am hateful of anyone. I have no choice. I will go along with what my boss wants and repent later. o Where’s the faith that God will take care of us?

Fri, 03 Jun 2022 - 19min - 54 - Does wearing religious jewelry protect me?
The cross is loved and respected by millions of people around the world so much so that even The Encyclopædia Britannica calls the cross “the principal symbol of the Christian religion.”However interestingly enough, the Greek word generally translated “cross” is stau·rosʹ. It basically means “an upright pale or stake.” And then the Companion Bible points out: “[Stau·rosʹ] never means two pieces of timber placed across one another at any angle . . . There is nothing in the Greek of the [New Testament] even to imply two pieces of timber.” In several texts, Bible writers use another word for the instrument of Jesus’ death. It is the Greek word xyʹlon. (Acts 5:30; 10:39; 13:29; Galatians 3:13; 1 Peter 2:24) This word simply means “timber” or “a stick, club, or tree.” The apostle Paul says: “Christ purchased us, releasing us from the curse of the Law by becoming a curse instead of us, because it is written: ‘Accursed is every man hung upon a stake [“a tree,” King James Version].’” (Galatians 3:13) Here Paul quotes Deuteronomy 21:22, 23, which clearly refers to a stake, (cross). Since such a means of execution made the person “a curse,” the question that arises “is it proper for Christians to decorate their homes with images of Christ on a cross or the cross as jewellery around the neck or simply the cross as a means of protection. That being said, there is debate as to whether or not it is appropriate—or even sinful—to wear religious jewelry like crosses and crucifixes. Christians did not begin wearing crosses around their necks until after crucifixion was no longer the primary source of capital punishment; therefore, it is not equivalent to a modern-day person wearing a miniature death chamber or a gun or knife around his neck, as some have suggested. Many looks at the cross as simply the instrument of death used to slay our beloved Saviour. It being suggested on social media that people who truly practice the Christianity of the Bible stand out as beacons of light in

Fri, 13 May 2022 - 23min - 52 - Does satan have control over the weather?
The writers of the Bible claimed that God Yahweh personally controlled all aspects of the weather: rain, wind, clouds, hail, snow, ice, cold, storms, sunshine, drought, thunder, lightning (even precisely where it strikes, Job 36.32), earthquakes, and everything down to the growth of grass. They considered thunder to be the "voice" of Yahweh, coming from his "mouth" (Ps 18.Ps 29.). Lightning belonged to Yahweh; it was "his" (Job 37.Ps 97). Yahweh had storehouses up in the sky/heavens, where he kept water, winds, snow, and hail until he wanted to send them (Ps 135.; Deut 28.; Jer 10.). God personally created rainbows to remind himself not to drown all humans and other animals anymore (Gen 9.14-16). Biblical authors also believed that bad weather occurred because of sin, but that if a good man would pray, God would listen from the sky/heaven and send good weather (Deut 11.; 1 Kings 18.; 2 Chron 6.26-27). Because some individuals do notice that natural disasters cause terrible suffering for millions and millions of people, regardless of religion or lack of religion, some modern believers will occasionally attribute natural disasters to the Satan character, in an attempt to shift blame from their god concept. However, the writers of the Bible did not believe such. Even in the book of Job, although the accuser ("the satan," one of "the sons of Elohim/God" who has free access to the heavenly court, ) asks to bring harm upon Job as a test, it is ultimately Elohim who controls the weather, for good or ill. The Bible says that God will rain upon the just and the unjust. People could be praying for the storm to pass by in one area, yet others could be praying also in areas that are hard hit. God can let bad weather hit one area yet keep it from hitting another area. For example, the storms we had in KZN The increasing number of natural disasters and terrible storms have many people wondering, who controls the weather, God or Satan?
