- 22 - A Portrait of a Nomad in Quarantine
This week, in our last ever episode, we discuss how the pandemic has impacted the future of relationships and our predictions for what dating as a nomad will look like once borders start opening. We’ve shared so many embarrassing stories and spoken with so many wonderful, open and insightful people over these two seasons. It’s been a pleasure sharing their stories here, but we feel like we’ve done what we set out to do - create a little time capsule of nomad pandemic dating - and we’re going to quit while we’re ahead! Thank you so much for coming along with us on this journey. Big hugs!

We mentioned a few bits of research in this episode:
Here, you can read about how single people tend to focus on their other relationships – friends, family and community – more than married people.https://www.psychologytoday.com/ca/blog/living-single/201810/are-single-people-happy-because-they-are-free
This one talks about how unmarried people with active social lives are happier than the average married person.https://greatergood.berkeley.edu/article/item/one_key_to_being_happy_when_youre_single
This article talks about ‘matrimania’ -https://www.vice.com/en_ca/article/9kpz98/why-new-research-says-its-ok-to-stay-single-and-die-alone
Finally, it’s the stigma surrounding being single, rather than how you actually feel about being single, that leads some single women to feel less happy.
