- 344 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 13 Preview
We've reached the end of the line. In many fantasy football leagues, Week 13 is the final week of the fantasy regular season. Some teams have already clinched a spot in the postseason tournament and are just jockeying for position and a potential first-round bye. Others still have been eliminated but are hoping to take as many folks down with them as possible. And many fantasy squads head into this week with a simple edict – win and you're in. Lose and it's all over but the crying. That makes every lineup decision this week absolutely critical. And the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy is here to help by answering the looming questions ahead of Week 13. Can Dak Prescott and the reeling Dallas Cowboys get it together on Thursday night at home against the rival Redskins? Will Minnesota Vikings quarterback Case Keenum's surprising roll continue Sunday in Atlanta in one of Week 13's biggest game. Can Falcons wideout Julio Jones follow up his huge outing from a week ago? Which NFC South quarterback should fantasy owners target when Cam Newton of the Panthers and Drew Brees of the Saints lock horns in the Big Easy on Sunday? And similarly, which signal-caller and pass catchers will come out on top when the Philadelphia Eagles travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks on Sunday night? Who are the Week 13 sleepers to target in fantasy football? The busts to avoid? What's the latest on the biggest injured stars? For the answers to those questions and more, join the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy on Wednesday, November 29 at 7 PM Eastern. Come on in – the water's FINE!
Thu, 30 Nov 2017 - 1h 16min - 343 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 9 Preview
It’s Deshaun Watson’s world. The rest of us are just living in it. The rookie quarterback for the Houston Texans (and your 2017 NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year – book it) put on yet another show in Week 8, topping 400 passing yards and tossing four touchdowns in a loss to the Seattle Seahawks. It was a performance that lifted any number of fantasy owners to a win. Watson wasn’t the only rookie setting records in Week 8. On Sunday night in Detroit, Juju Smith-Schuster became the first player in league history to score four touchdowns before turning 21. The Pittsburgh Steelers wideout didn’t score them all in that game, but the 97-yard touchdown he did have put a huge smile on the face of the fortunate fantasy owners who rolled him out. At this time of the season, when every win is doubly important for fantasy owners trying to keep their season afloat, having a player like Watson or Smith-Schuster in the lineup can do more than just save a week. It can save a season. With six teams on a bye again in Week 9, fantasy owners are once again scouring the league for players who will post big scores in Week 9. The veterans and or rookies with the right kind of Week 9 juju. Couldn’t be helped. Well, look no farther. On Wednesday, November 1 at 7 PM Eastern the gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy will break down everything you need to know in advance of the ninth week of the 2017 season. So be sure to tune in – and maybe your season will be saved as well. Come on in – the water’s FINE! Call-In Number: (347) 826-9620
Wed, 01 Nov 2017 - 1h 15min - 342 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 8 Preview
We’ve already hit Week 8 of the 2017 NFL season. The fantasy football campaign is already into the second half, and soon the stretch run for the playoffs will begin. For many fantasy owners, that makes the edict clear – win this week, or there may not be a stretch run to worry about. As usual, the NFL isn’t making things any easier for fantasy owners. For every player who has exceeded expectations there are seemingly two who have underperformed. And the list of stars battling injuries seemingly grows by the week. In Week 7 we saw Arizona quarterback Carson Palmer felled by a broken arm in the Cardinals’ blowout loss to the Los Angeles Rams in London. Granted, there aren’t many teams rolling out Palmer every week. But his absence affects the entire Arizona offense, from wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald to tailback Adrian Peterson. It’s a similar deal in Miami, where a surprising Dolphins team is now on their third quarterback. If it’s Matt Moore under center Sunday, what effect will that have on the fantasy value of running back Jay Ajayi and wide receiver Jarvis Landry? And will we be seeing fellow pass-catcher Devante Parker on the field any time soon? It’s those sorts of questions that the folks at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy will endeavor to answer when they gather to preview Week 8. So whether it’s injury news, sleeper plays or potential busts join us Wednesday, October 25 at 7 PM Eastern as we break down all the info you need to keep your playoff push on the tracks. Wed, 25 Oct 2017 - 1h 13min - 341 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 6 Preview
Five weeks into any season, a solid percentage of fantasy football owners are going to be anxious. Nervous. Freaking out, even. After the Week 5 we just saw go down, the percentage is probably lying somewhere between 97 and 106. It’s not just that some squads are the fantasy equivalent of the New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers and sitting at 0-5 or 1-4. That they’re looking at the efforts of players like Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson or Oakland Raiders quarterback Amari Cooper and wondering what the heck they were thinking on fantasy draft day. But there’s also the matter of the injuries that continue to mount. The latest major one – the season-ending broken ankle suffered by New York Giants wide receiver (and top-five fantasy draft pick) Odell Beckham was nothing short of a season-killer. However, whatever the cause of the struggles, whatever the record, fantasy owners have to keep going. Have to keep trying to get better. Keep trying to get a win. So, whether you’re 5-0 and riding high or 0-5 and crying on tour keyboard, join the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy gang on Wednesday, October 11 at 7 PM Eastern as they preview Week 6. Can Cam Newton and Carson Wentz keep it going in their big Thursday night showdown? Who will win the RB duel between Todd Gurley and Leonard Founette in Jacksonville? Will the Giants hold WR tryouts in the parking lot before Sunday Night Football? And will the Browns ever win another game? (The answer is no.) Come on in – the water’s FINE. Wed, 11 Oct 2017 - 1h 04min - 340 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 5 Preview
We’ve hit the quarter-pole of the 2017 NFL season, and with it the first fourth of this year’s fantasy regular season. And just like the three weeks before them, Week 4 was a wild one that left many fantasy owners reeling. In Week 4 alone we saw… A rookie quarterback (Deshaun Watson of the Houston Texans) roll up over 300 passing yards and five total touchdowns in a historic rout of the Tennessee Titans. We watched New York Jets tailback Bilal Powell jump off the fantasy scrap heap to roll up 163 rushing yards against the Jacksonville Jaguars, while Minnesota Vikings running back Dalvin Cook was lost to a season-ending injury. And we saw Atlanta Falcons wideout Julio Jones go down with a hip injury, while the receiver leaderboard in Week 4 was littered with the likes of Devin Funchess of the Carolina Panthers and Jaron Brown of the Arizona Cardinals. Another wacky week has plenty of fantasy owners sitting as 2-2, 1-3 or even 0-4 and scratching their heads with one hand while balling their fist to shake at the teams sitting pretty at 3-1 or 4-0. But whether you fantasy season has started off well or anything but, there’s still plenty of time to turn things around (or watch them fall apart.) You have to stay after it if you want to have a strong October – especially with the bye weeks about to begin. So join the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy on Wednesday, October 4 at 7 PM Eastern as they break down everything you need to know to get a W in Week 5. Come on in – the water’s FINE. Wed, 04 Oct 2017 - 1h 04min - 339 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 3 Preview
We’re two weeks into the 2017 NFL (and fantasy football) season, and for every thing we know about the year there are three things we don’t. We knew that Drew Brees of the New Orleans Saints and Tom Brady of the New England Patriots were going to be OK, and sure enough they rebounded in Week 2. But raise your hand if you had Trevor Siemian of the Denver Broncos as leading the NFL in passing scores after two weeks. Put your hand down you liar. At running back, Kareem Hunt of the Kansas City Chiefs continues to impress. But two games in Le’Veon Bell of the Pittsburgh Steelers still hasn’t gotten untracked, and Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys and LeSean McCoy of the Buffalo Bills were just shut…down. And the tight ends? Hurt. All of them. Rob Gronkowski (Patriots). Tyler Eifert (Cincinnati Bengals). Jordan Reed (Washington Redskins). Jimmy Graham (Seattle Seahawks). Hurt. Hurt. Hurt. And hurt. Those injuries are just the tip of the iceberg in that regard, and only the beginning of what the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy will discuss as they get you ready for a full slate of Week 3 games. Will they Green Bay Packers rebound at home against the Bengals? Will the Bengals finally score a touchdown in that game? Will the three undefeated AFC West teams keep rolling? Will the game in Indianapolis between the Colts and Browns end in a scoreless tie? Join us Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 7 PM Eastern as we break down the third week of the 2017 NFL season. Wed, 20 Sep 2017 - 1h 12min - 338 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 2 Preview
Week 1 is in the books. The first week of NFL action in 2017 featured more than a few great performances. Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford threw four touchdown passes in yet another fourth-quarter comeback. Jacksonville Jaguars tailback Leonard Fournette racked up 100 rushing yards in his NFL debut. And Pittsburgh Steelers wideout Antonio Brown played like, well, Antonio Brown. But fantasy owners care less about what has happened than what will happen. So we’re on to Week 2. Can high-end fantasy quarterbacks like New England’s Tom Brady and Seattle’s Russell Wilson shake off a down Week 1 and get back on track? What about the top fantasy running backs, nearly all of whom had a sluggish start to the season. Will Pittsburgh’s Le’Veon Bell rebound? How is David Johnson’s injured wrist? Will Odell Beckham of the New York Giants make his 2017 debut next Monday night in Detroit. Will Atlanta’s Julio Jones and Cincinnati’s AJ Green score their first touchdown of the season in Week 2? Will the Bengals score at all? What about fantasy’s top tight ends? Any chance one of them actually has a good Week 2? Because most spent the first week of the season on the side of a milk carton. And if the Los Angeles Rams and Jacksonville Jaguars keep winning big, is that a sign of the Apocalypse? Join the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy gang on Wednesday, September 13 as they preview everything you need to know before setting your fantasy lineups in Week 2. Come on in – the water’s FINE. Wed, 13 Sep 2017 - 1h 12min - 337 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 1 Preview
The day of reckoning has finally arrived – almost. On Thursday night, the Kansas City Chiefs will travel to Gillette Stadium to face the Super Bowl champion New England Patriots in the season opener of the 2017 NFL season. By the time the Los Angeles Chargers and Denver Broncos finish out the weekend with the second contest of a Monday night doubleheader, all 32 NFL teams will have played their first game of the year. And another fantasy football campaign will be underway. With go-time just around the corner, the gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy will be gathering this week to help you get the 2017 season off on the right foot – with a win. With Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck out against the Los Angeles Rams, what’s the outlook for players like tailback Frank Gore and wide receiver T.Y. Hilton? And how freaked out should fantasy owners be about Luck’s (and the Colts) long-term prospects? The first Sunday night affair features a pair of fantasy studs who are both looking at uncertain statuses for Week 1. What’s the latest on New York Giants wideout Odell Beckham’s balky ankle and the ongoing suspension saga of Dallas Cowboys tailback Ezekiel Elliott? Whether it’s injury updates, undervalued “sleeper” plays, potential busts to avoid or just good old-fashioned start/sit advice, the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy has all the information you need to start the 2017 season off right. So, join us Wednesday, September 6 at 7:00 PM ET and start the season off with a W! Come on in – the water’s FINE! Call-In Number (347)826-9620
Wed, 06 Sep 2017 - 1h 05min - 336 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2017 IDP and Team Defense Preview
Over the last month, we here at the Feeding Frenzy have been busily getting folks ready for the 2017 season. We’ve queried the quarterbacks. Ruminated on the running backs. Wondered on the wide receivers. And theorized on the tight ends. And now, with but one big draft weekend before Week 1 of the 2017 NFL season gets underway, just one group of players remains. This week is all about defense. And while we’ll be D/ST a bit (and the value of streaming them) this week is really for fantasy owners who have ditched team defense altogether for the added fun and excitement of IDP. Whether it’s the defensive linemen, the linebackers or the defensive backs, we’ll be touching on all the big questions facing fantasy owners in 2017. Will JJ Watt of the Houston Texans return to his perch as the top defensive lineman (and overall IDP)? And if doesn’t, who will claim the spot? Who were the winners of starting jobs in the NFL’s unsettled linebacker battles – players who could produce substantial numbers while also being available late on draft day? And who are the discount defensive backs – late fliers in the secondary who will out-perform their modest asking prices? All will be revealed on the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy 2017 IDP Preview. Come on in – the water’s FINE.
Wed, 30 Aug 2017 - 1h 11min - 335 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2017 Tight Ends Preview
We’re nearing the end of August. This week teams across the National Football League will hold all their all-important “dress rehearsal” third preseason game. And there are just two big fantasy draft weekends to go before the 2017 NFL season opens at Gillette Stadium. There will be thousands of fantasy drafts this weekend, and drafters far and wide are looking for every edge they can get. The Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy has already previewed the quarterback position. And the running backs. And the wide receivers. That means this week it’s time to tackle the most unpredictable position in all of fantasy – the tight ends. The tight ends, as they have been for several years, are headlined by Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots, the oft-injured man-monster who the is the personification of the risk-reward fantasy pick. How early is too early considering his injury risk? Speaking of injury risk, what about Jordan Reed, he of the injured foot? Reed’s falling in drafts to what could be a position of value, but is he a bargain in the waiting or fool’s gold? Which tight ends are undervalued in 2017 and should be targeted of draft day? Which ones are overvalued busts waiting to happen. Join the Feeding Frenzy gang on Wednesday, August 23 at 7PM Eastern for everything you need to know about tight ends leading up to your fantasy draft. Come on in – the water’s FINE. Wed, 23 Aug 2017 - 1h 02min - 334 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2017 Wide Receivers Preview
The beginning of the 2017 NFL regular season is drawing closer by the day. On Thursday, the second full week of the preseason will be underway. And fantasy football draft season is kicking into high gear. As fantasy enthusiasts far and wide get ready to pick their teams for the upcoming campaign, it’s time for the gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy to continue their position-by-position look at the season to come. Next up, it’s the wide receivers – a position that’s grown in importance in recent years. In fact, it’s the wideouts who some fantasy pundits consider the most important position in the game. Much like with the running backs (before last week, anyway), there’s a “Big 3” among receivers, with Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Odell Beckham of the New York Giants and Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons all vying for top honors. Who’s the king of the hill – and do any of these players merit consideration at No. 1 overall? Of course, there’s more to the receivers than just the high-end studs. Who are the undervalued pass-catchers savvy fantasy owners should look to add on draft day? Who are the overvalued receivers to avoid? Are there any “sleeper” types who could rise from obscurity to lead fantasy owners to the promised land? And what about this year’s rookie class? The Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy gang will break down everything you need to know about the wide receivers this year on Wednesday, April 16 at 7PM ET. They’ll also break down all the latest fantasy news – including last week’s bombshell suspension. Come on in – the water’s FINE! Call-In Number: (347) 826-9620
Wed, 16 Aug 2017 - 1h 04min - 333 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2017 Running Backs Preview
We’re into the month of August. The Hall of Fame Game is in the books. And later this week the preseason begins in earnest. And with it that most wonderful time of year in fantasy football… Fantasy draft season. Last week here at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy, we discussed the quarterbacks. This week the focus of the gang at the FFFF (or 4F, as the kids say) turns to arguably the most important position in fantasy football. The position that dominates the top of drafts in 2017. It’s running back time, baby! Who is top dog at the position this year? Is it David Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals, who led the position in total fantasy points last year? Or is it Le’Veon Bell of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who was No. 1 in terms of fantasy points per game? And what of the Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys, the second-year rushing king awaiting a potential suspension from the league offices? Of course, there’s much more to the tailbacks than just the “Big 3,” whether it’s grizzled veterans like LeSean McCoy of the Buffalo Bills or up-and-coming youngsters like Jordan Howard of the Chicago Bears. Which undervalued backs should fantasy owners target? Which busts in the making are set to crush championship dreams ala Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams? What late-round lottery tickets are about to come from nowhere to lead fantasy squads to the playoffs? And what about this year’s rookie class? For everything you need to know about fantasy running backs in 2017, join the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy on Wednesday, August 8 at 7 PM Eastern. Come on in – the water’s FINE! It’s time to talk quarterbacks. Wed, 02 Aug 2017 - 1h 05min - 331 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Hey Hey Hey, It's OTAs!
It’s summertime. The kids are out of school. Grills are going across the country. And it’s time for an annual ritual that’s as American as apple pie. Camp. It’s time for songs around the campfire. Tasty s’mores. And padless practices where contact is a big ol’ no-no. Those things may not all be happening in the same place. It’s time for organized team activities across the National Football League – the first real chance teams get to take an extended look at their club for the 2017 campaign. Not only are top rookies like Leonard Fournette of the Jacksonville Jaguars on the practice field, but now they’ve been joined by most of their veteran counterparts. That means plenty of news of note for fantasy football enthusiasts. Whether it’s how Alshon Jeffery has been getting along with Carson Wentz in the City of Brotherly Love or how Adrian Peterson is fitting in with his new teammates in the Big Easy, there have been a number of developments that could impact the fantasy value of players all over the league. We’ve even had some late player movement, with a couple of big-name receivers finding themselves both un- and re-employed in the span of the last couple of weeks. After a summer break of their own, the gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy is back to break down the fantasy implications of the latest news and notes from OTAs. Wed, 21 Jun 2017 - 1h 29min - 330 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2017 Dynasty Rookie Rankings
Now that the 2017 NFL Draft is in the books, drafts of a different sort are cropping up all over the place. In these drafts, there won’t be a whole lot of working out – you’re more likely to see 40 ounces than 40 times. But the folks involved still take the festivities plenty seriously. It’s rookie draft season in dynasty fantasy football leagues. With that in mind, this week’s all about the first-year players at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy, as Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport and Todd Latzke break down the top 50 rookies in 2017. At running back, Leonard Fournette of the Jacksonville Jaguars was considered the top dog headed into Philadelphia. Now that we know who landed where is that still the case? And if so – should Fournette be the first rookie drafted in 2017? If Fournette isn’t the 1.01, then perhaps it’s one of this year’s top receivers. But which of the three young wideouts who were selected in the top 10 of the draft are the top banana in fantasy. Is it Corey Davis in Tennessee? Mike Williams in La-La Land? What about speedster John Ross in Cincinnati? Running backs and wide receivers will no doubt dominate the first round, but what about the quarterbacks, tight ends and even the IDPs? Where do the players at those positions factor into this year’s rookie pecking order? For the answers to those questions and much more, join us Wednesday, May 10 at 7 PM Eastern as Gary and Todd break down all the names you’ll need to know ahead of this year’s rookie draft. Wed, 10 May 2017 - 1h 05min - 329 - FANTASY FOOTBALL FEEDING FRENZY: 2017 NFL Draft Predictions
After months of waiting, tons of speculation and enough scuttlebutt to fill a missile silo, it’s finally go-time, folks. The 2017 NFL Draft is almost here. On Thursday night the focus of football fans everywhere will be on Philadelphia, as we find out the answers to a great many questions that have been asked almost since the moment Super Bowl LI concluded. Who will the Cleveland Browns make the No. 1 overall pick? Texas A&M edge-rusher Myles Garrett? North Carolina quarterback Mitch Trubisky? A kicker? Hey – it is the Browns we’re talking about. In a draft where seemingly just about every team in the top 10 wants to trade down, will they find any takers? And if so, who will move up – ostensibly to grab a quarterback? Speaking of the quarterbacks, how many will go in Round 1, and where will they land? What about this year’s top running backs? The wide receivers? The tight ends? In other words, where will the top rookies of interest to fantasy owners wind up? Of course, there’s more to the NFL draft than just Round 1. There are second-round steals. Day 3 sleepers. And picks of all shapes and sizes in between. Regardless, the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy gang has you covered. Join Fantasy Sharks staff writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and special guest Dan Collins on Wednesday, April 26 at 7 PM ET as they offer up some predictions on how the 2017 NFL Draft will play out. Wed, 26 Apr 2017 - 1h 19min - 328 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2017 NFL Draft Preview – Part 2
It’s almost go time. In just one week, the 2017 NFL Draft will officially get underway in Philadelphia. Months of speculation, scuttlebutt and mock drafts galore will finally, blissfully give way to the real deal. Last week the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy looked at the top quarterbacks and running backs in the Class of 2017. That leaves two offensive position groups of interest to fantasy football owners – the wide receivers and tight ends. As has been the case for the past few years, it’s a deep and talented group of wide receivers in 2017. But while there are plenty of players to like at the position this year, there isn’t a clear-cut top dog. If big bodies with sure hands are your thing, then Clemson’s Mike Williams or Western Michigan’s Corey Davis is likely your guy. However, if speed’s your thing, then Washington’s John Ross (who broke Chris Johnson’s combine record by peeling off a blistering 4.22-second 40-yard dash in Indy) is this year’s target numero uno. At tight end, there are a couple of leading to contenders to step into Hunter Henry’s shoes as the top rookie in 2017. Both O.J. Howard of Alabama and Miami’s David Njoku have the size and athleticism NFL teams crave – but each also has question marks around them. Whether it’s mid-round sleepers, Day 3 diamonds in the rough or everything in between, join Fantasy Sharks staff writers Gary Davenport and Todd Latzke on Wednesday, April 19 at 7 PM Eastern as they break down everything you need to know about the fantasy implications of the crop of pass-catchers entering the NFL in 2017. Wed, 19 Apr 2017 - 1h 03min - 327 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2017 NFL Draft Preview Part 1
The big day is almost here! OK – days. We’re just about two weeks out from the 2017 NFL Draft in Philadelphia, when this year’s rookie class will find out where their NFL careers will begin. It’s three days that will send shockwaves across the National Football League – and the fantasy football landscape. And as such, it’s time for the gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy to begin previewing this year’s draft – starting with the quarterbacks and tailbacks. Unlike 2015 and 2016, it looks like the No. 1 overall pick this year will not be a sgnal-caller. That raises the question not only of who this year’s top passer is, but when he will be taken. Will Clemson’s Deshaun Watson, North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky or Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer go first at the position? Where will the other two wind up? What about Patrick Mahomes of Texas Tech? Or Brad Kaaya of Miami? And is there a mid-round quarterback who could become this year’s Dak Prescott? Given the success Ezekiel Elliott enjoyed in 2016, fantasy owners are scrutinizing this year’s running back class even more than usual. The general consensus is that Leonard Fournette of LSU will be the first off the board, but is it possible that Florida State’s Dalvin Cook could sneak past him? And more importantly which back is the better fantasy prospect? Who are the sleepers? The backs for NFL teams to avoid? Will I ever stop ending sentences with question marks? Join Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport and Todd Latzke on Wednesday, April 12 at 7 PM Eastern for those answers to those questions and more as the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy kicks off their preview of the 2017 NFL Draft. Wed, 12 Apr 2017 - 1h 08min - 326 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Free Agency Review
The 2017 edition of free agency in the NFL is nearing one month old. Over a billion dollars in contracts have been awarded, and any number of players of interest to fantasy football owners have found new homes. At running back, Adrian Peterson remains unsigned, as does Jamaal Charles. The biggest name to switch teams is one of the NFL’s biggest backs, with Eddie Lacy bolting the Green Bay Packers to try to goose the ground game in Seattle. Latavius Murray has found work as well – as Peterson’s replacement with the Minnesota Vikings. At wide receiver there’s been a ton of movement. The Washington Redskins became the first team in NFL history to lose a pair of 1,000-yard wideouts from the season before when DeSean Jackson (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) and Pierre Garcon (San Francisco 49ers) both left town. Terrelle Pryor signed a deal in D.C to pick up some of that slack. Kenny Britt replaced Pryor as the No. 1 receiver in the fifth circle of football hell known as Cleveland. The “crown jewel” of free agency at the position (Alshon Jeffery) settled for a one-year deal, while a surprise trade sent shockwaves across the fantasy landscape. We’re still waiting for the big shoes to drop at quarterback (“Where will Romo Land” has become the new “Who Shot J.R.?” in Texas), but dominos have fallen at tight end, including the arrival of Martellus Bennett in Titletown and his replacement joining the Super Bowl champs. In another trade. Join Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport and Todd Latzke on Thursday, March 30 at 7 PM ET as they try to make heads of it all with fantasy football’s biggest winners and losers in free agency. Thu, 30 Mar 2017 - 1h 02min - 325 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2017 Combine Preview
The “Underwear Olympics” is here! This week, 330 of college football’s best and brightest will descend on Lucas Oil Stadium for the 2017 NFL Scouting Combine. There will be tests and interviews and drills galore – drills that will help determine the pecking order for the 2017 NFL draft. And with it the pecking order for this year’s rookie crop in fantasy football drafts this summer. At quarterback, there’s a three-way race to be the first signal-caller off the board this year. But do North Carolina’s Mitch Trubisky, Notre Dame’s DeShone Kizer or Clemson’s Deshaun Watson have what it takes to be the rare quarterback who makes a fantasy dent in Year 1? The running backs are always the focus of lots of fantasy attention, and this year is no different. Can LSU’s Leonard Fournette, or Florida State’s Dalvin Cook come close to the immense success Ezekiel Elliott enjoyed last season? At wide receiver, it’s another deep class, but one with no clear-cut No. 1. Is Clemson’s Mike Williams the top dog, or is Western Michigan’s Corey Davis or John Ross of Washington “the guy” in 2017? And that’s without even mentioning the tight ends, let alone the defensive side of the ball. Whether it’s high-end stars, sleepers or busts in the making, join the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy gang on Thursday, March 2 at 7 PM Eastern as they break down the next group of NFL (and fantasy) stars in the making. Fri, 03 Mar 2017 - 1h 05min - 324 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Super Bowl LI Preview
There have been 266 football games in the NFL this season. Now just one more remains – Super Bowl LI in Houston, Texas. It’s a classic “offense vs. defense” matchup, as well as a battle of youth vs. experience. In one corner, you have the NFC Champion Atlanta Falcons, making their second appearance in the Super Bowl and first in almost 20 years. The Falcons are all about offense, ranking second it total offense, inside the top five in both rushing and passing and first in scoring. Featuring the likes of quarterback Matt Ryan, wide receiver Julio Jones and tailbacks Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman, the Falcons are a hard team to stop. Just ask the Green Bay Packers. Opposing them are the AFC Champion New England Patriots, appearing in their third Super Bowl in the past six years and record ninth overall. No team in the NFL gave up fewer points per game in 2016 than the Patriots, a remarkable feat given that the team traded away their best pass-rusher and linebacker either before or during the season. Oh, and there’s the not so small matter of Patriots quarterback Tom Brady and head coach Bill Belichick, who are appearing in their record seventh Super Bowl together. Can the young upstart Falcons pull off the upset, or will Brady make history as the first quarterback in NFL history to win five Super Bowls? Join Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 7PM Eastern to break down everything you need to know about the biggest spectacle in sports, as well as chatting a bit about Saturday's NFL Honors ceremony. Come on in – the water’s FINE!
Fri, 03 Feb 2017 - 1h 04min - 323 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Wild Card Preview
The fantasy football season may be over, but the NFL season is just starting to really heat up. That’s because whether Jim Mora wants us to or not, it’s time to start talking playoffs. This weekend eight of the NFL’s 12 postseason participants will battle in the Wild Card round. And there are sub-plots galore. Will the battle of bad quarterbacks in Houston between the Texans and Oakland Raiders be the ugliest Wild Card game ever or just the ugliest one of the 21st century? And does either team stand a snowball’s chance the following week in Boston or Kansas City? Do the Detroit Lions, losers of three straight to teams all left in the NFC bracket heading into the playoffs, have a shot at knocking off the Seahawks in Seattle? And if not how far can this iteration of the Seahawks advance? Can the Miami Dolphins repeat their win over the Pittsburgh Steelers from earlier in the season—a win that keyed the Dolphins playoff push? Or are the Steelers the AFC squad best equipped to challenge the New England Patriots? And finally, could Sunday’s finale in Green Bay be the beginning of another miraculous postseason run by Eli Manning and the New York Giants? Or are Aaron Rodgers and the red-hot Green Bay Packers the team no one wants to face in the Divisional Round? Join Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin on Thursday, January 5 at 7 PM ET as they discuss all that, fantasy playoff leagues and more in the first episode of The Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy in 2017. Let’s start the New Year right! Come on in – the water’s FINE! Call-In Number: (347) 826-9620
Fri, 06 Jan 2017 - 1h 04min - 322 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 14 Preview
It’s Week 14. The playoffs have begun in many fantasy football leagues. And that means the time for small talk is done. I could sit here and complain about the dud that New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees posted in Week 13, and how that dud killed many a fringe playoff team’s chances this year. Or I could complain about how Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers has been doing that all season long. But you don’t want to hear about that. I could gripe about the soul-sucking void of fantasy nothingness that is Los Angeles Rams running back Todd Gurley in 2016. How that fact that I passed on fantasy stud David Johnson for Gurley in at least one league will haunt me for the rest of my days on this earth. But you don’t care. No, you want to know if Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones will play in Week 14 after suffering the most ill-timed toe injury in fantasy history – approximately. And if Jones sits out, you want to know which wideouts might help salvage your season. You want to know if New Orleans Saints tailback Mark Ingram will play through his toe injury (what is it with toes in 2016? Get better shoes, guys!), or if fantasy owners dare trust Tim Hightower after his nine-yard faceplant last week. Those Saints were real dream-killers in Week 13. You want to know whether old man winter will screw Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Whether Robert Griffin’s return at quarterback for Cleveland will help or hurt Terrelle Pryor. In other words – you want to win. Thursday December 8 at 7 PM Eastern, Fantasy Sharks staff writers Gary Davenport, Walton Spurlin and Todd Latzke will break down Week 14 – giving you all the info you need to do just that. Come on in – the water’s FINE. Call-In Number: (347) 826-9620
Fri, 09 Dec 2016 - 1h 06min - 321 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 13 Preview
It's the end of the world as we know it -- and I feel FINE. OK, so it's not the end of the world -- maybe. But it is the end of the fantasy football regular season in many leagues. By the time the dust settles in Week 13, some teams will be moving on to the postseason, while others will begin the long, slow wait for draft season 2017 next summer. For some fantasy owners, however, the fantasy playoffs have essentially already begun. We've all been there. Maybe a big game from Atlanta Falcons tailback Devonta Freeman in Week 12 got your fantasy squad to 7-5 on the season. One more win, and it's on to the postseason. Or perhaps the opposite happened. Confidant that Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson was "back" you started him against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, only to see Wilson fall flat on his face -- taking your fantasy team with him. Now stuck at 6-6 on the year, one more loss will sink your entire season. Either way the mantra is the same: Win in Week 13 -- or else. Luckily, you have an ace up your sleeve. Three, even. Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin are here to preview everything you need to know about this all-important weekend of NFL action, from Thursday's showdown between the Vikings and Cowboys in Minnesota to Sunday matchups in Atlanta and New Orleans that could produce some big stat lines. Who are the players you need to have in starting lineups in Week 13? Who needs to be glued to the bench? The gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy are here to break down everything you need to know to get the win in lucky Week 13. Tune in Thursday, December 1 at 7 PM Eastern and let's get into the playoffs! Come on in -- the water's FINE! Call-In Number: (347)826-9620
Fri, 02 Dec 2016 - 1h 09min - 320 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 11 Preview
Hard though it may be to believe, it's Week 11 of the 2016 NFL season already. We're well into the fantasy playoff stretch run. Time flies when you're having fun, huh? At least some folks are. The ones who drafted Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson and Tampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans are probably feeling pretty good about their chances right now. Or maybe you grabbed Tennessee Titans signal-caller Marcus Mariota, Miami Dolphins tailback Jay Ajayi or Green Bay Packers wideout Davante Adams off the waiver wire, and while things were dark there for a little while the sun has poked through the clouds. Then again, maybe you burned an early pick at quarterback on Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers. Made running back Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams your first-round pick. Followed that up with Chicago Bears wide receiver Alshon Jeffery. Heck, maybe those were your first three picks. If that's the case, you're probably sunk. However, whether you're sitting pretty, jockeying for postseason position hanging on for dear life or just playing the role of spoiler, every fantasy owner has one thing in common. We're all looking for a win in Week 11, and that means it's time to get our ducks in a row. To that end, join Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin on Thursday, November 17 at 7 PM Eastern as they break down Week 11. Sleepers and busts. Studs and duds. Upside plays and injury news -- the gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy has it all. Come on in -- the water's FINE. Call-In Number: (347)826-9620
Fri, 18 Nov 2016 - 1h 00min - 319 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 9 Preview
It's Week 9 of the 2016 NFL season already. And this week brings with it the bye week blues. For the second consecutive week, six NFL teams are on a bye, leaving many fantasy owners scrambling to fill a hole in their lineups. For fantasy owners who made it through Tom Brady's four-game suspension and who have been enjoying the huge numbers Brady has posted during his revenge tour, it's no dice -- the Golden Boy and the Patriots are off this week. Have you been doing your happy dance on a weekly basis this year as Arizona Cardinals running back David Johnson topped 100 total yards in every game this season and posted the most fantasy points of any player at any position? No dancing this week -- Johnson and the Redbirds are taking it off. Are you one of the fortunate few who has basked in the welcoming warmth of plugging A.J. Green and his 896 receiving yards into your fantasy lineup each and every week? Well this week's set will be unplugged -- after playing in London in Week 8 Green and the Bengals aren't playing. And of course, where the Golden Boy goes his number one goon follows, so fantasy owners won't have tight end Rob Gronkowski at their disposal in Week 9 either. Still, off teams or no there's a game to be won. A very important game for teams sitting at 4-4 or 3-5 and clinging desperately to fading playoff aspirations. A game those teams can't afford to lose. And that's where the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy comes in. Join Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin on Thursday, November 3rd at 7 PM as they break down everything you need to know about Week 9 -- who to start, who to sit, and players set to be wither fantasy studs or woeful duds. Thu, 03 Nov 2016 - 1h 13min - 318 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 8 Preview
It's the eighth week of the 2016 fantasy football season, and that means a couple of things. First, the fantasy regular season is entering the second half. That means that every week's matchups take on added importance -- especially for fantasy squads desperately clinging to hopes of making the playoffs. Second, with six teams on a bye this week and injuries mounting, many fantasy teams will be going deeper into the well than at any time this season. I'll bet a few weeks ago not many fantasy owners thought they would be counting on Buffalo Bills running back Mike Gillislee or Green Bay Packers wide receiver Ty Montgomery in Week 8. Or is it Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery? This season has been very confusing. As the uncertainty and pressure mounts, the gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy has gathered yet again to break down everything you need to know about Week 8. Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin will break down their Studs and Duds for the upcoming week and take a look at all Week 8's matchups, from the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tennessee Titans on Thursday to the Cincinnati Bengals and Washington Redskins in London and the Minnesota Vikings and Chicago Bears on Monday night. Whether it's spot-start quarterbacks like Ryan Fitzpicktrick, clouded running back stuations like Chris Thompson and Matt Jones in Washington or wide receivers like Tyrell Williams of the San Diego Chargers who have emerged in big roles, the Feeding Frenzy has all the info you need to leave Week 8 feeling great. So tune in Thursday, October 27 at 7:00 PM Eastern and let's go get a win! Come on in -- the water's FINE. Call-In Number: (347)826-9620
Thu, 27 Oct 2016 - 1h 05min - 317 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 7 Preview
We've reached the halfway point of the 2016 fantasy football regular season. And for every player who has met or exceeded expectations, there's been one who disappointed. If you drafted Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan, you're no doubt pleased that he's fantasy's top-ranked passer through six games this year. But if you pulled the trigger several rounds earlier on Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks, you've been left scratching your head -- wondering why he can't even crack the top 20. At running back, David Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals and Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys have lived up to their first-round billing. DeMarco Murray of the Tennessee Titans and LeSean McCoy of the Buffalo Bills have been values. Christine Michael of the Seattle Sehawks has been a steal. And Eddie Lacy of the Green Bay Packers has been a hot mess. Among the wide receivers, Both Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons and Odell Beckham of the New York Giants experienced mini-slumps to start the year. They've broken out of theirs -- just in time for Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers to lose his starting quarterback. It's been a crazy year, and things are only going to get wilder from here. As they do every week, the gang at Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy has gathered to guide you through the madness and prepare you for Week 7. So join Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin Thursday, October 20 at 7 PM Eastern as they do just that. Come on in -- the water's FINE. Thu, 20 Oct 2016 - 1h 05min - 316 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 6 Preview
We're five weeks into the 2016 fantasy football campaign -- almost halfway home. Maybe your team is 5-0 and 4-1. You've ridden the arm of Matt Ryan of the Atlanta Falcons and the legs of David Johnson of the Arizona Cardinals. His teammate Larry Fitzgerald has continued to defy Father Time and rack up fantasy points for your team. Life, as they say, is good. Or perhaps you're 3-2 or 2-3. You haven't gotten the fantasy production you'd hoped for from Los Angeles Rams tailback Todd Gurley. Drafting quarterback Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers early hasn't quite gone according to plan. But all isn't lost -- especially with stud tight end Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots finally rounding into form. Then again, maybe you're 1-4 or 0-5. You're ticked off at Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer. Incensed (again) at Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy. Jabbing pins in your Odell Beckham voodoo doll... And don't even get me started on Coby freaking Fleener. No matter your situation, every fantasy owner has one thing in common. We all have games to try to win this week. And with that in mind, Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin have gathered to preview Week 6. Join them Thursday, October 13 at 7 PM Eastern. Thu, 13 Oct 2016 - 1h 09min - 315 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 5 Preview
We've made it through four weeks of the 2016 NFL season -- a month into this year's fantasy football campaign. And we've already learned a valuable lesson. We don't know nearly as much as we thought we did. Sure, we figured a quarterback from the NFC South would be the top fantasy option at his position. But very few people believed that quarterback would be Atlanta's Matt Ryan, who just roasted the Carolina Panthers to the tune of 500+ passing yards and four touchdowns. We thought that an AFC North running back had a good shot at ranking toward the top of the NFL in rushing yards per game and near the top of the fantasy rankings in points per game. We didn't think, however, that running back would be Cleveland's Isaiah Crowell, who currently leads the AFC with 394 yards on the ground. Many folks were certain a wide receiver named Jones would pace the league in receiving yards. And sure enough, after a 300+ yard effort against the Panthers Julio Jones of the Falcons leads the NFL in that category. There's another Jones right behind him though -- and the number of people who thought Detroit's Marvin Jones would be on pace for almost 2,000 receiving yards at this point in the season numbers approximately zero. And while it's hardly a surprise that Greg Olsen of the Panthers and Jordan Reed of the Washington Redskins are among the fantasy leaders at tight end, if you thought Kyle Rudolph of the Minnesota Vikings would join them you should probably play the lottery. With that in mind, join Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin Thursday, October 6 at 7 PM ET as they break down Week 5 of the NFL season. You never know what they might know. Come on in -- the water's FINE! Call-In Number: (347)826-9620
Thu, 06 Oct 2016 - 1h 10min - 314 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 4 Preview
We've hit the last week of September, and by the time Week 4 has concluded the 2016 fantasy season will be a quarter of the way home. It would be great if that meant we had the fantasy landscape figured out. Far from it. There have been surprises galore at every position. Through three games, Denver Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian has more fantasy points than Russell Wilson of the Seattle Seahawks, Carson Palmer of the Arizona Cardinals and Blake Bortles of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Oh yeah. Totally saw that coming. At running back, injuries continue to ravage the position, with Shane Vereen of the New York Giants joining a growing list of tailbacks out for the season. LeGarrette Blount of the New England Patriots ranks inside the top five. Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams ranks outside the top 20. Yep. Absolutely knew that would happen. The No. 1 fantasy wideout through three games isn't Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Julio Jones of the Atlanta Falcons or Odell Beckham of the Giants -- it's Marvin Jones of the Detroit Lions. In fact, of the three superstars who were the first three picks in many fantasy drafts, only Brown ranks inside the top 20. Called it. The top-scoring fantasy tight end three games in (Greg Olsen of the Carolina Panthers) isn't a huge stunner. But two more members of the top five (Kyle Rudolph of the Minnesota Vikings and Dennis Pitta of the Baltimore Ravens) weren't even drafted in most leagues. Meanwhile, the next fantasy points Rob Gronkowski of the Patriots scores will be the first this season. Madness reigns in 2016. And on Thursday, September 29th at 7 PM ET, Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin will do their best to get you ready for the next week at the asylum. Thu, 29 Sep 2016 - 1h 08min - 313 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 3 Preview
"And lo, the carnage did spread far and wide across the land. And the runners did fall in droves. And the owners did weepeth." -- The Book of Week 2. The fantasy football landscape for 2016 was altered in a big way in Week 2, as the running back position was absolutely decimated by injuries. Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings (knee) and Ameer Abdullah of the Detroit Lions (foot) suffered major injuries that effectively ended their 2016 campaign from a fantasy perspective. Danny Woodhead's season is definitely over, compliments of a torn ACL. That's far from the extent of the damage, however. Tampa Bay's Doug Martin, Miami's Arian Foster and Carolina's Jonathan Stewart are dinged up as well, suffering soft-tissue injuries that could sideline them for weeks. But wait, there's more! Injuries at quarterback in Chicago, Cleveland and New England could have serious ramifications for all the offensive talent on those teams, from Bears wideout Alshon Jeffery to Patriots receiver Julian Edelman -- who might be playing quarterback Thursday night against the Houston Texans. This is the point where it feels important to mention that it's Week 3. The show must go on, however, and Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin have gathered again to help fantasy owners sift through the wrecage and prepare for another week of fantasy mayhem. Join them on Thursday, September 22 at 7 PM Easterm as the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy previews Week 3. Even if they're afraid to predict what will happen next. Come on in -- the water's FINE. Thu, 22 Sep 2016 - 1h 04min - 312 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: Week 2 Preview
We're rolling now. Week 1 of the 2016 NFL season is in the books -- and with it another season of fantasy football has begun. There were some happenings across the NFL that we expected. We thought that New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees and Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown would have big games, and they didn't disappoint. Some players, however, did. First round running backs Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams and Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings both struggled. New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski didn't even travel with the team to Arizona. And San Diego Chargers wideout Keenan Allen was on the wrong end of the first big regular season injury of 2016 -- tearing his ACL in a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. With that in mind, Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin have gathered to both take a look back at Week 1 and (mainly) look forward to Week 2. Whether it's injury news, start/sit recommendations or the Week 2 edition of Studs and Duds, the gang has everything you need to notch a win in your fantasy league this week. Conversely, who are the biggest busts in the making -- the players who will leave teams in ruins and their fantasy owners in tears? Which NFL teams will be making postseason plans in 2016? It's Week 3 of the NFL preseason. Opening night is just a couple weeks away. And fantasy draft season is in overdrive. In fact, fantasy football podcast hosts across Blog Talk Radio have gotten in on the act themselves, recently participating in a 10-team non-PPR draft for the 2nd Annual BlogTalkRadio Fantasy Football Expert League. The Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy was among the shows involved, with Walton Spurlin repping the guys as they try to bring home a championship. BTR's Pod Vader hosted the draft and broadcast live during the draft, talking to each of the teams as they made their picks. There were reaches, sleepers and values galore, and commentary from some of the best and brightest fantasy minds in the business. Thu, 25 Aug 2016 - 1h 26min - 308 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: IDP-alooza!!!
It's the middle of August. Kids are headed back to school. NFL teams are playing football sort of, with the second week of the preseason about to get underway. And most importantly, fantasy draft season is in high gear. At the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy we've broken down the quarterbacks. Dissected the running backs. Ruminated on wide receivers. And theorized on tight ends. Now, it's time to get after it in earnest -- and to make Fantasy Sharks Senior Staff Writer Gary Davenport a very happy man -- by devoting an episode to Individual Defensive Players. Whether it's strategy or player values, sleepers or busts, join Gary and Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin on Thursday, August 18 at 7 PM Eastern for all the information you need to be successful in your IDP drafts this year. Thu, 18 Aug 2016 - 1h 04min - 307 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2016 TE/DEF Preview (Part 2)
It's August, and Training camps across the NFL are getting underway. Sunday night, the Hall of Fame Game will kick off the 2016 preseason. And here at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy, we're continuing our position-by-position look at the 2016 season. This week, it's the tight ends -- otherwise known as the Kingdom of Gronkia. There's zero doubt that Rob Gronkowski of the New England Patriots of the New England Patriots is the No. 1 fantasy option at the position. But is Gronkowski so head-and-shoulders better than the likes of Jordan Reed of the Washington Redskins and Greg Olsen of the Carolina Panthers that he's worth the first round pick required to obtain his services in many leagues? That's far from the only question Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin will be answering about the tight ends this week. Are there any mid-round values smart fantasy owners should look to target in 2016? What about busts in the waiting who need to be avoided. And is there anything to see in what appears to be another wholly uninspiring rookie class at the position. The guys will also talk team defenses in advance of next week's IDP special. Are there any team defenses worth reaching for? Which ones should you steer clear of? And who are the leading early-season candidates for streamers who like to play the matchups. Join the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy on Thursday, August 4 from 7-8 PM Eastern as they continue dishing out the information you need to dominate your fantasy league in 2016. Thu, 04 Aug 2016 - 1h 07min - 306 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2016 WR Preview
The times have changed in fantasy football. For many years, the first round was all about the RB position. That, however, is not the case in 2016. In fact, the top five in most leagues has been all about superstar wide receivers. There's Antonio Brown of the Pittsburgh Steelers, the consensus pick as this year's No. 1 overall selection. Odell Beckham of the New York Giants, who's done nothing in his short career BUT pile up fantasy points. And Jones of the Atlanta Falcons, who spent much of last year flirting with re-writing the single-season record books at the position. As the gang at The Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy continues their position-by-position breakdown of the 2016 fantasy campaign, this week is all about the new kings of the mountain. And the first order of business is simple -- if you have the No. 1 pick, who's the guy to take? That may be the first question the guys answer this week, but it'll be far from the last. Who are the value plays at wide receiver for the "old school" types who hit RB early? Conversely, which wide receivers are dangerously overvalued and set to let fantasy owners down? Can this year's rookie class come close to duplicating the Year 1 impact made by rookie receivers like Beckham and Amari Cooper the past couple of years? The Sleepers. The busts. The breakout stars and players set to fall flat. Fantasy Sharks staff writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin have that information and more, with an hour-long breakdown of the wideout spot. Join the fellas Thursday, July 21 at 7 PM ET as they give you all the info you need to cull a cadre of pass-catchers who will make you proud this fall. Come on in -- the water's FINE! Thu, 21 Jul 2016 - 1h 02min - 305 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2016 RB Preview
For years and years, running backs were the unquestioned kings of fantasy football. The first round of fantasy drafts was dominated by the position, As went the backfield, so went your fantasy squad. Now, however, the times have changed. The pass-wacky ways of today's NFL, the emergence of committee backfields and an alarming number of first-round busts at the position in recent years have caused running backs to be de-valued a bit. So much so, in fact, that in 2016 the top five in most fantasy drafts belongs to the wideouts. This doesn't mean that running backs aren't still important to fantasy success though -- so this week 's Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy is all about the backfield. Who is fantasy's top RB in 2016? Is it Le'Veon Bell of the Pittsburgh Steelers? Second-year sensation Todd Gurley of the Los Angeles Rams? Warhorse Adrian Peterson of the Minnesota Vikings? Or could it possibly be Ezekiel Elliott of the Dallas Cowboys, the consensus top rookie at the position in 2016? With so many fantasy drafters eschewing running backs early, finding values later on becomes all the more important. Are players like Miami's Jay Ajayi and Philly's Ryan Mathews the mid-round gems many are making them out to be, or fool's gold waiting to suck in unwary fantasy owners? Who are the late sleepers who could propel fantasy owners to the playoffs and onto a championship? What about the potential busts to avoid? And what of this year's rookie crop? There's much to discuss -- and Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin and special guest Dish Adams will be breaking it all down. Want to dominate on draft day? Tune in to the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy on Thursday, July 14 at 7 PM ET to get all the info you need on the RB position. Come on in -- the water's FINE. Call-In Number: (347)826-9620
Thu, 14 Jul 2016 - 1h 03min - 304 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: 2016 QB Preview
The calendar has turned to July, and then can mean only one thing -- fantasy football draft season is right around the corner! With that in mind, it's time for the gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy to being looking at this year's player pool in earnest. And where better to begin than at quarterback, the NFL's most important position? Of course, the NFL's most important position and fantasy football's most important position are two entirely different things. And that's one of the things the gang will be discussing Thursday night -- draft-day startegy under center. Are Cam Newton of the Carolina Panthers, Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers and Andrew Luck of the Indianapolis Colts (the top three options on most boards) worth their early-round price tag? Or is waiting a bit longer for the likes of Carson Palmer of the Arizona Cardinals the wiser course of action? And what of Tom Brady -- the Golden Boy -- and his looming four-game suspension. Does it make him a fantasy pariah or a potential value pick in drafts? Speaking of value, are there quarterbacks currently being selected outside the top 12, such as Philip Rivers of the San Diego Chargers and Matthew Stafford of the Detroit Lions, who could emerge as weekly starters for fantasy owners in 2016? The sleepers. The busts. The reaches and steals. Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin have all the information you need to dominate your fantasy draft. Join the guys on Thursday, July 7 at 7:00 PM Eastern for an hour that's all about the quarterback position. Come on in -- the water's FINE! Call-In Number: (347) 826-9620
Thu, 07 Jul 2016 - 1h 02min - 303 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: The Prodigal Sons Return
It's been a few weeks since the gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy gathered to do a show. Stuff happens, so they say. There were personal matters that needed attending to and all that. And besides -- it's not like early June is really an "impact" month where fantasy football is concerned. But those are coming -- soon. Mandatory OTAs have fired up across the NFL. News feeds are heating up. There's even been the requisite way-too-early soul-crushing injury that leaves dynasty fantasy owners screaming at the television. In other words, it's almost time. Fantasy Draft Season is almost here. As June moves into July more and more fantasy owners will begin preparing for 2016 in earnest. Fantasy magazines will hit newsstands. Cheatsheets will be compiled. Sleepers will be awakened to the point where they cease to sleepers. Busts will be busted on until they actually become sleepers. In a word, things are about to get crazy. And that means it's time to get back after it. Because if there's one thing the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy gang knows -- it's crazy. And so they have gathered. Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin -- a triple-threat tag team of fake football tyrannosaurs. Or the Three Stooges of fantasy football. Whatever. They've gathered to offer up some information on the upcoming Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy Listener League. To discuss the latest injury news and player updates across the NFL. To preview the meat of their season -- the strategy, sleeper and ratings shows that will occupy the rest of the summer. In other words, they've gathered to get back to work. So join the gang on Thursday, June 23 at 7 PM Eastern for some fantasy football talk. Come on in -- the water's FINE. Thu, 23 Jun 2016 - 1h 02min - 302 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: May 11 Grab Bag
We're in the midst of something of a fantasy football "dead zone." The NFL draft has come and gone, but even in dynasty formats the majority of leagues won't be holding their drafts for a few weeks. However, if you think that's going to stop the gang at the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy from getting together to talk shop, then you just don't know Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin well at all. The latest news from around the NFL, whether it's rookies fitting into their new homes or veterans ramping up for another season. Early retuirns from mock and rookie drafts, for those diehard fantasy fanatics who are always searching for an edge. Way-too-early predictions for the upcoming season. This. That. The other. Join Wally, Todd and Gary on Thursday, May 11 at 7:00 PM ET as they talk some fantasy football -- even if they aren't entirely sure what it is they'll be talking about. Thu, 12 May 2016 - 1h 07min - 301 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: NFL Draft Review
The 2016 NFL draft is in the books. From the Los Angeles Rams and Jared Goff at No. 1 to the Tennessee Titans and Kalan Reed at No. 253, over 250 young men now know where their NFL careers will begin. Hundreds more have signed with teams in the days since as undrafted free agents. And now that we know where top rookies like quarterback Carson Wentz (Philadelphia Eagles, No. 2), running back Ezekiel Elliott (Dallas Cowboys, No. 4) and wide receiver Corey Coleman (Cleveland Browns, No. 15) landed, it's time to start talking in detail about how this year's class affects the fantasy football landscape. Will any of the first-year quarterbacks make a fantasy dent in 2016? Besides Elliott, which tailbacks could be set for an immediate impact? And just how big a splash will "Zeke" make in Big D? In a crowded wide receiver class with no clear-cut No. 1 prospect, which young pass-catchers should fantasy owners target? Of course, the draft impacts much more than just the incoming players, as these rookies will also impact any number of veterans across the National Football League. Which players saw their fantasy fortunes improve, and who was left out in the cold? To answer those questions and many more, Fantasy Sharks Senior Staff Writer Gary Davenport welcomes a pair of special guests in this week. Fantasy Sharks staff writers Trey Daubert and MJ Brown (host of the Daily Bite here on Fantasy Sharks Radio) will join the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy on Thursday, May 5, 2016 from 7-8 PM for an NFL Draft Breakdown Cinco de Mayo style. For a fiesta of fantasy football forecasting, be sure to tune in! Come on in, the Water's FINE! Call-In Number: (347) 826-9627
Thu, 05 May 2016 - 1h 06min - 300 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: NFL Draft Preview Part Two
We're one short week from the 2016 NFL draft, and things are really ramping up. Scuttlebutt. Speculation. And trades involving both the No. 1 and No. 2 overall picks on April 28. With that in mind, Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin welcome in a special guest. Fellow Sharks staffer (and NFL Draft expert) Dan Collins joins the gang to discuss both the latest draft-day scuttlebutt and its fantasy impact. Because in this second installment of our NFL Draft Preview, the gang is focusing on the fake football impact of the very real draft. Whether it's dynasty leagues or redraft formats, the offensive positions (quarterback, running back, wide receiver and tight end) or the IDPs, this edition of the Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy is all about forecasting the fantasy impact of the action in Chicago. Is Ezekiel Elliott a no-brainer No. 1 pick in rookie drafts. In a muddy crop at wideout, who's the top dog? Will Jared Goff or Carson Wentz make a fantasy dent under center in 2016? Is there a tight end worth knowing about this year? And what about defensive linemen like Joey Bosa and DeForest Buckner? Linebackers like Reggie Ragland and Myles Jack? Who are the rookie IDPs fantasy owners need to know about this summer? The guys will also look at the latest news around the league, from the trade that sent the second pick from Cleveland to Philly (and Gary into an apoplectic rage) to the stunning departure of Josh Norman from the Carolina Panthers. For the answers to these questions and more, tune in Thursday, April 21 at 7:00 Eastern for Part 2 of a two-part draft previewpalooza of prescient prognostication! Jumbo-sized even!!! Thu, 21 Apr 2016 - 1h 33min - 299 - Fantasy Football Feeding Frenzy: NFL Draft Preview Part One
In a fortnight (that's two weeks for those of you born in this century) the NFL draft kicks off in Chicago, and as the big day nears the rumors and speculation regarding this year's rookie class has kicked into overdrive. With that in mind, Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport, Todd Latzke and Walton Spurlin welcome in a special guest. Fellow Sharks staffer (and NFL Draft expert) Dan Collins joins the gang to discuss both the latest draft-day scuttlebutt and his latest mock draft at the site. Who will the Tennessee Titans select at No. 1 overall (assuming they make the pick)? Will the hapless Cleveland Browns add the latest victim in their never-ending search for a quarterback? How highly will top RB prospect Ezekiel Elliott of Ohio State be selected? Who will be the first wide receiver taken, and when? Who will be the biggest steals of the 2016 NFL draft? The biggest reaches? The Day 3 steals? Will I ever stop framing sentences as questions? And can Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon REALLY be dumb enough to both fail another drug test AND live with Johnny Manziel? For the answers to these questions and more, tune in Thursday, April 14 at 7:00 Eastern for Part 1 of a two-part draft previewpalooza of prescient prognostication! Come on in -- the water's FINE! We're just over a week into free agency in the National Football League, and what a wild week it's been. The New York Giants spent like they can't take it with them, making defensive end Olivier Vernon the NFL's richest defensive end. The Denver Broncos now face the very real possibility of starting the 2016 season with Mark Sanchez (yes, that Mark Sanchez) at quarterback after Brock Osweiler's stunning defection to the Houston Texans. Trades have shipped both running back DeMarco Murray and defensive end Chandler Jones to new teams. And that's just the tip of the iceberg. As the dust begins to settle after the first big wave of player movement, Fantasy Sharks Staff Writers Gary Davenport and Walton Spurlin are here to break down the fallout from it all. Who got a steal. Who got ripped off? And what does it all mean for the upcoming fantasy football season? So join Gary and Wally on Thursday, March 17 at 7:00 PM ET for some fantasy football talk, St. Patty's Day style! Come on in -- the water's FINE!! Call-In Number: (347) 826-9620
