L(o)ose Your Mind with Rutika

rutika deoghare

My purpose to start this podcast is to talk about things that matter. From the toxic issues prevailing in the society to the never ending quest of right parenting, the intention is to touch upon different things through personal opinions and discussions. Bringing in change through influencing the thought process in a positive way and trying to work on the roots as we nurture kids to bring in a brighter future, is what this podcast all about. Clothing, Opinions, Choices...It's like we have covered everything from the tip of a woman's hair to the tip of her toe as a reason for sexual assault. And while we outrage and stand strongly against sexual assault or harassment, we are quick to go back to our lives where we laugh at sexist jokes and dance to misogynist songs. That is how unaware we are of the Rape Culture.

As the world closely monitors a woman's clothes and normalizes harassment, it is unaware that by doing so it drapes itself in a very toxic culture.  Don't D-Rape It!, is an attempt to elaborate on what this culture looks like and focuses on finding ways to make the world a safer place.

  • 4 - Don't be Blind, When you Lose Your Mind!

Social Media Outrages are losing the appeal as they quickly turn into trends that eventually phase out. While voicing our opinions and getting together virtually to speak up against social evil can serve as a powerful tool to bring in change, we successfully turn them into short lived rants. Misinformed posts, ignorance towards facts, lack of logical reasoning and quick judgements lead to the failure of meaningful movements. Can we change this? Of course, only if we take some effort to give some meaning to these outrages by not being blind towards facts and authentic information. An amazing article on Forbes states how every such outrage has exact same pattern, posting the link to the article here...and request you all to read it https://www.forbes.com/sites/ninaangelovska/2019/04/26/the-6-cycles-of-social-media-reactions-after-major-tragic-events/amp/
