- 6 - Lucie Averill
Welcome to the Photo Mentors podcast. This weeks guest is Lucie Averill. Lucie is landscape photographer based in Cornwall, who specialises in shooting seascapes. In 2020 she has Commended Image in Landscape Photographer of the year and also received a nomination for an image in Close Up Photographer of the Year.
I first came across her work on Instagram where I was struck with simplicity and minimalist style of some of her seascape images. They are a real balance of sand, sea and sky - Lucie has a real eye for patterns and details that reveal themselves in the right light.
Go and check out Lucie's work!

Fri, 26 Mar 2021 - 32min - 5 - Nick Turpin
This weeks guest is Street and commercial photographer Nick Turpin
Nick started his career at The Independent newspaper as a Staff Photographer, before he headed of in to the world of commercial and advertising photography, all shot in his documentary street style. Nick prefers to use the term 'Candid Public Photography' as it is more about how humans interact in a variety of public spaces, not just the literal street,
Nick is probably best known for his 'On The Night Bus' project where he photographed people through the steamed up windows of a London night bus. It is a project he talks about in this episode, as well as his The French, Autos and Exodus projects, the latter of which was shot whilst London was in Lockdown during 2020.

In 2015 Bill won the Adobe Award in the prestigious Landscape Photographer of the year awards, and had a commended in last years awards. Sun, 28 Feb 2021 - 1h 01min - 3 - Angela Nicholson
This week I speak to Angela Nicholson. Angela describes herself as a photographer, journalist and a reviewer of photographic equipment and accessories, but that only really scratches the surface of what she does. A few years ago, along with a few other photographers, she set up Camera Jabber, which is a news, reviews and technique website, and she also founded the SheClicks which is an online community for female photographers, which at the time of recording has almost 9,000 followers.
Previously Angela was Technical Editor at Amateur Photographer and was Head of Testing at Future Publishing, working across magazine titles such as Digital Camera, Professional Photographer, NPhoto, Photo Plus, Photography Week and Practical Photography as well the websites Digital Camera World and Tech Radar.

This episode I speak to Joe Allam. Joe is probably best described as a storyteller who shoots travel and street photographs that document his adventures around the world.
