In this second installment of my three part series on the building blocks of songwriting I continue the discussion by focusing on three more of the six fundamental blocks, namely Intro, Outro and Bridge, with even more tips on how to understand the simple rules of modern pop music, not so we can follow them however, but instead learning those song structure rules in order to effectively break them.

Creating great songs begins with understanding the fundamental building blocks of every song, and in this episode of the Tebomusic weekly podcast I'll kick off a three-part series focusing entirely on the six crucial blocks and how to put them all together, starting off in this installment with three of the most essential, namely Verse, Pre-Chorus and Chorus, with details on how to make each of them work to your advantage as well as how to avoid common pitfalls made by many songwriters.

The precious art of keeping your listeners wanting more often comes by giving less, the silence in between can be just as powerful if not more so than all amps cranked to 11. Feeling the tempo and giving space to breathe has often made good songs even greater, and in this episode I'll go into examples of how your music can be just as powerful.

For both new and veteran songwriters alike, there are so many forces at play in our lives that can distract us from being our creative best, not the least of which is our own self-doubt about whether or not we have all the right tools or skills to make it in the competitive artistic world. In this episode of the Tebomusic weekly podcast I go straight at this toxic source of doubt to remind you, with real life examples, of why you and your main instrument are totally enough.

Deciding how you want to be interpreted by the public at large can create a fear of creative commitment, but there is no need to determine your fate for all time, opting instead to determine what is best for right now and allowing yourself to flourish, even changing message over time. Also I talk about some REALLY big changes that happened last week, literally moments after releasing the Jan 15 podcast, and how those events have led to some pretty incredible developments for Tebomusic moving forward!

In this episode of the weekly Tebomusic podcast I talk about the concept of following up after a creative reset in order to actually move forward in the songwriting process with tangible results, namely: falling in love with the songwriting process.
