Have you ever been love bombed online? You meet this amazing guy, he showers you with compliments, tells you you're his soulmate... and then... asks for money. This is a dating scam, and it happens to way too many women.
I'm Sophia, your travel and transformation host, and I've almost been scammed myself! But here's the thing: good girls are especially susceptible to these scams. We want to please, we trust easily, and we hate disappointing people. These are all great qualities, but they can be used against us.
So how do you avoid becoming a victim? Listen to this episode where I'll explain the psychology of dating scams and how to protect yourself. I'll also share tips on how to identify red flags and build healthy online relationships.
Don't let "good girl syndrome" hold you back from finding real love! Listen to this episode and take charge of your dating life.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
How good girl syndrome can make you more susceptible to dating scamsThe red flags to watch out for to avoid falling victimPractical strategies to protect yourself onlineHow to overcome the shame of being targeted and move forwardBEST MOMENTS
If your gut is telling you something, listen, because it's probably right.
"Some women with good girl syndrome may inherently just trust others and just believe in the good intentions of people. And that's not a bad thing, but it is something that can make you more susceptible to dating scams."
"As women get older, they tend to be viewed as invisible. So they latch on to a person who is paying attention to them, who seems to see them. And that's when the manipulation can really take hold."
"So one of my boundaries is I don't send money to anybody. That is a boundary for me. So if I haven't met you, even if I have met you, chances are you're not getting my money because I work hard for my money and I'm not just going to give it away to somebody who has loved bombed me, and now they think that they have formed some tight emotional bond with me."
"Trust your instincts, because you usually know if you think about it, you usually know when something's not right and you choose to ignore that feeling because maybe you think it's ego or, you know, maybe. Maybe you're being gaslit."
"People catfish, people lie. And if this has happened to you, don't be ashamed of yourself. Don't beat yourself up about it. Okay? In fact, report it."

"Trauma is really this. This idea of experiencing something that has shifted how you operate in your life, right? And it could be something small or it could be something big."
"We can't let people trespass our yard. And our yard is our space, our body. It could be what we can see in front of us. But it also could be our mental yard of not allowing people to trespass in those spaces by telling us things, saying things to us that are harmful, that impacts us."
"Boundaries don't have to be a bad thing. It doesn't have to be like, you're mean or nasty, but really understanding what feels right for you."
"And I think just, even what you just said is recognizing what a boundary even is. So, in saying, okay, if you can't make it, let me know 48 hours in advance, or give me a call if so and so is going to happen, or those are boundaries because you're letting people know. It's almost like, I guess, another way to look at it. They're kind of rules."

"If you're not aware of something, you can't shift it. You have to be able to see that blind spot. So getting really curious with a sense of compassion for yourself versus a sense of judgment allows you to start to shift that mindset."
"You can't shame yourself into evolution, you can't shame yourself into change. Only compassion and love can do that because compassion is really the liberation of suffering. It's love in action."

Travel and money are women's superheroes. Travel makes them strong, breaks norms. Smart money choices break barriers, give control, mean independence and dreams. In this chat, Sophia talks with Angela Duncan, the cool host of Empower Her Money. A woman who defied the odds and survived a childhood of abuse and poverty. She loves real estate and says you don't need lots of money to start investing; it's like planting seeds.
Angela suggests using your brain, not just your feelings, for money decisions. Spread your money around, like a safety net. Change how you think about money – be thankful for what you have. Angela's money tips are simple: check your spending, save for emergencies first, and put money aside for retirement. Pay off expensive debts first, like credit cards. Be careful with consolidation loans – they might not be as good as they seem. For travelers, Angela says use Airbnb, negotiate prices, and check Groupon for deals. You can enjoy life and still be smart with money. Get Angela's book on Kindle and learn a quick guide on thinking differently about money while enjoying life. Listen now!

Thu, 02 Nov 2023 - 13min - 42 - Boost Productivity Without the Burnout with Lisa Zawrotny
In this episode, Sophia sits down with Lisa Zawrotny a productivity strategist, accountability coach, founder of positively productive systems, and host of the positive, positively living podcast. She helps multi-passionate creatives to reduce overwhelm and boost productivity without the burnout.
Lisa and Sophia discuss the role de-cluttering and self-assessment play in doing this. Including how to decide what to keep and what to throw away, inventorying what you are doing and assessing how well you are doing each task and how to play to your strengths.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Simplicity and de-cluttering are powerful.Declutter your head and heart as well as your physical space. We are internally connected to a lot of our stuff, so we struggle to throw it out, but this is a key reason we need to do exactly that. Letting go of things helps us to let go of our emotional clutter too. Many people use clutter to protect themselves, e.g., their home is too messy to be able to invite people around.Don´t throw away stuff because other people call it clutter e.g., if you craft, keep what you need to pursue that passion. If it nurtures you – keep it.Self-awareness is your number one productivity tool. Figure out how you work best.Work with your tendencies.Track your habits. You won´t be perfect but be consistent and celebrate all of your wins.Don´t beat yourself up.Productivity is not about doing more or being busier. It´s about having time to live and enjoy more.BEST MOMENTS
‘Take a moment, take a breath.’
‘Clutter is anything that gets in between you and the life you want to live.’
‘It doesn't have to be an epiphany; it could just be an Aha.’

Wed, 30 Aug 2023 - 59min - 33 - Divine Vibrational Healing with Ayisha Ivezzy
In this episode, Sophia sits down with Ayisha Ivezzy, a certified vibrational healer whose company is called Divinely Aligned Vibrational Healing. She talks about her journey, including living with an abusive partner, who killed Ayisha´s daughter at the age of two and a half.
Going through the grief of losing her daughter changed Ayisha and led to her tapping into spiritual healing. Now, she uses what she has learned to help others who are grieving.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Abuse in relationships takes many forms. You don´t necessarily have to be physically hit.Being controlled is a form of abuse.Vibrations resonate with the body and change the frequencies it is operating on.The human body is 70 to 80% water, so it is possible to use sound to change the way or rate at which our cells vibrate. When the cells vibrate in a certain way it triggers your body to release more calming hormones, for example, cortisol.Sound baths can be used to help the body to regenerate and recover faster.Your brain state and brain waves can be changed by vibrational healing.Music raises our level of consciousness and reminds us of how interconnected we are with everything.BEST MOMENTS
‘All of these things add up, but sometimes it’s hard to see it.’
‘I feel that he killed her to get revenge on me.’
‘Sometimes the tragedies in our lives are the teachers in our lives.’
‘When you vibrate the cells from the inside out, it releases negative energies.’

In this episode, Sophia chats with Christy Holt who is a happiness mentor and guide. She
hosts the Creating Happy Podcast and is the creator of The Happiness Hussy Adventure
Guide and an author.Sophia and Christy sit down to talk about her journey. She explains why your brain is keeping you stuck in negative cycles and how to break free of them.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Happiness comes from within. If you are not experiencing the outcomes you want, it is mostly because you are
getting in your own way. Often, without realizing you are doing it.Everything we experience is filtered by our brain. Improving the filter improves
perception, and directly impacts how you act and your outcomes. Most of the time our brain is focused on self-preservation, keeping things stable to
keep us safe.Find the courage to expand your comfort zone.Learn who you are, to accept and love yourself.Be aware of the negativeness of people pleasing. Being kind is good, but don´t let
doing that turn you into a doormat.Tap into both the masculine and feminine power that we all have within.Express yourself authentically.
BEST MOMENTS‘The happiness you are chasing outside of yourself is an illusion.’
‘Make sure your perception is focused on what you want to create.’
‘It is all about the power that is flowing through you.’

Thu, 10 Aug 2023 - 41min - 30 - Exploring The Journey of a Full-Time Travel Creator With Brittany Roberts
In this episode of the Travel and Transformation Show, host Sophia interviews Brittany Roberts, a full-time travel creator who shares her journey to becoming a travel influencer. Brittany emphasises the importance of finding a balance between work and travel, acknowledging that not everyone can quit their jobs and travel the world. She shares her personal story of teaching on a reservation and reconnecting with her indigenous roots, which inspired her to pursue a career in travel content creation. Brittany also provides valuable insights on respectful travel on tribal lands, including the importance of learning about the culture and supporting indigenous businesses. Additionally, she discusses her passion for slow travel and the benefits of taking the time to truly immerse oneself in a destination. Overall, this episode offers a unique perspective on travel and encourages listeners to explore new places while respecting local cultures and traditions.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Slow travel is the opposite of fast-paced, checklist-style travel. It emphasizes taking the time to fully experience and immerse oneself in a destination, rather than rushing from one tourist attraction to another.Slow travel allows for a deeper connection with the local culture and history of a place. By taking the time to learn about the culture, history, and traditions of a destination, travelers can gain a more meaningful and authentic experience. When traveling on tribal lands or visiting indigenous communities, it is important to be respectful and mindful of the local customs and traditions. This includes practicing leave no trace principles, supporting indigenous businesses, and being open to learning about the local culture.Slow travel can be accessible to everyone, regardless of budget or time constraints. It is not necessary to quit your job and travel the world to have meaningful travel experiences. By making small changes, such as taking shorter trips, exploring local areas, or incorporating adventure into daily life, anyone can incorporate slow travel into their lifestyle.Slow travel can be a transformative and rewarding experience. By slowing down, being present, and immersing oneself in the local culture, travelers can gain a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them. It allows for personal growth, self-reflection, and the opportunity to create lasting memories and connections.BEST MOMENTS
"You don't have to make it so big and drastic. You can just think, is there something I can do? Can I take three weeks off? Can I work fewer hours and spend a little more time adventuring every week? Can you build adventure into your day?" - Brittany Roberts
"If you can learn a little bit about the culture before you go or the history, I think that would be not only good for you to interact with people there, but just good for you, right? That you know the history of the land." - Brittany Roberts
"So even supporting can be kind of in a way like come off as patronizing or something. But these are professionals. And so pay them for their professional services, their expertise and the fact that they're also from the land and supporting that and working with the land." - Brittany Roberts
"So sharing those experiences with people and having teachers kind of democratizing travel and making it so that people can access those experiences, I think is really important to me because it shouldn't just be for the super rich, right? Like everybody should be able to have that." - Brittany Roberts
"Slow travel is the opposite of that. So when I'm traveling by myself, slow travel is about taking your time, immersing yourself in the culture, and really experiencing the place you're in. It's about being present and not rushing from one tourist attraction to another." - Brittany RobertsVALUABLE RESOURCES

Wed, 21 Jun 2023 - 32min - 23 - How to Feel Free and at Home in Your Own Skin With Heather Gale
In this episode, Sophia sits down with Heather Gale who is a body image and embodiment coach. She helps women with negative body image and disordered eating to feel free and at home in their own skin.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
The mind is a tool that we can use to change our energy and soul, which in turn has a profound impact on what type of people we become.Chakra work helps you to feel safe in your body. It is particularly good for those whose nerves are shot or those who have a negative body image.People who do not feel safe in their bodies tend to attract negative relationship partners. Our personal power and our personal truth come through our root chakraWhen you have access to your soul star chakra, you are your past, present, and future self all at once.Shadow work enables you to talk to that dark entity that is attached to trauma and do so with love.Everyone is different which is why Heather tailors her approach.Anything that requires you to be more present in your body, e.g., singing or dancing improves body image.Wear what you like instead of trying to hide your body.BEST MOMENTS
‘Body image, it's not really about what you look like. It's about how you view yourself and feel about yourself.’
‘We tend to think I am my mind. But we're really a soul having a human experience.’
"We are all energy, and we emit different frequencies.’
‘I actually, like, grabbed the dark entity by the hand and led it to like that portal of light.’

In this episode, Sophia sits down to speak with Shaun Cooke who is a men’s life coach that helps men to find their edge and grow beyond it to the life that they desire. Shaun explains how to break these negative behavior patterns.

‘He carries himself as a king. This programme is designed to allow those men to let that energy forth.’

ABOUT THE GUEST
Just “Jas” to her friends — she is unapologetically an artist. With a Bachelor of Arts in TV, Film, and Media and a Master of Fine Arts in screenwriting, she worked as an associate producer on an NAACP-winning docuseries entitled Unsung, and shortly after, was given the opportunity to write and produce on Being, a docuseries highlighting dynamic entertainers in film and music. She’s done court shows and casted for Food Network productions and she is currently a producer on the NBC show America's Got Talent.
She also makes strides in front of the camera. She has done commercials and print ads for major brands like Nissan, VW, Sony, Apple, Uber, American Express, Diesel, BlackPeopleMeet, Credit Sesame, Michelle Watches, Elle magazine, and more. She also starred in the Lifetime show, My Crazy Ex, along with other TV projects.
Jasmine and Kenny Leyva produced their feature-length documentary, The Invisible Vegan, a film that chronicles Jasmine’s personal experience with plant-based eating. The film also explains how plant-based eating is directly linked to African roots and how African-American eating habits have been debased by a chain of oppression stemming from slavery, economics, and modern agribusiness. They are currently in production for a few new independent films.
Not to sound pedestrian, but the sky is the limit and her evolution will be televised!
