Welcome to the first episode in a series of upcoming quirky stories about Urban Legends, originally released on Patreon when we were making episodes.
All have an element of criminal seediness or conspiracy about them. And as they play out, we’ll get to the bottom of whether there’s any truth to these tales or if they’re purely myths.
In this first episode, we explore the rumours and realities of famed Italian furniture salesman, Franco Cozzo, and the gun-toting escapades of Melbourne grandmother, Ava Estelle.

Fri, 08 Sep 2023 - 55min - 98 - Thankyou & Goodbye
We have decided to finish up making episodes for True Blue Crime.
This will undoubtedly be a surprise and disappointing for many people, but we want to finish things on our terms and now feels like the right time to do that.
It’s a decision that we don't take lightly and we’ve been discussing for a while now, and we’ve reached it together.
When we started this show, we committed to ten episodes, and didn’t expect anyone outside of our partners, family and friends to listen to it. We were stunned when the downloads kept going up and more and more people were tuning in.
Now we feel that we’ve taken the show in its current format with our current resources as far as we can.
It's been a blast making these episodes for you all. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for listening, giving our show a chance, and following us throughout our journey.

It was mid afternoon on May the 7th 1990, and Wendy Davis was working at the Hollywood Hospital in Nedlands.
She was at her desk, immersed in her work, when she heard a voice behind her ask ‘is it okay if I use the toilet?’
Wendy swivelled in her chair and saw a young Telecom worker, all of 20, 21 years old.
She nodded. A moment later Wendy felt a hand on her shoulder and another hand over her mouth…

It was the 17th of April, 1999, and in Adelaide, South Australia, two rookie police officers were coming to the end of their shift.

It read: ‘There’s a dead girl's body in the shrubs of the grounds near the main road of the Payneham Police Station. This is no joke.’

Daniel walked down the driveway to see the driver, who got out of the car. But he’d left the headlights on, so it was too bright for Daniel to clearly see who it was...

24th of November 1989, Fremantle Prison, Western Australia
The trio removed the bar and slipped out of the workshop window and gained access to the roof of the print shop. From there, they went along the guard’s walkway, jumped from roof to roof, until they hit the edge of the prison grounds.
One of them missed the last jump, fell and injured his leg. The other two vaulted over the outer wall to freedom. The Postcard Bandit was free once again, and the hunt for him was on…

Mon, 17 May 2021 - 57min - 90 - The Kimberley Killer
Not long after sunrise Peter Leutenegger was flying his chopper across the Jubilee Downs Station, singing along to a few of his favourite Slim Dusty songs. He was mustering horses in preparation for the upcoming Fitzroy Crossing Rodeo; a popular annual event that saw many people travel to the area, when he noticed something unusual on the ground below.
It appeared to be a vehicle, but it was well covered by some form of camouflage. The power of his chopper blades slightly blew the green covering off the vehicle, and Peter thought he’d seen a man lying down inside, a man with no shirt on, camouflage pants, and a bandanna wrapped around his head...
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss the series of brutal spree murders throughout the Kimberley region in 1987, the unlikely helicopter pilot who located the killer, and the tactical police response that brought him down.

Mon, 03 May 2021 - 41min - 89 - Martin Pearson and Leanne Sleba
Anzac Day Friday, 25 April 2014
John Pearson said it was a bleak irony that his brother Martin was killed on a day that was all about mateship and courage.
“This is an act of supreme cowardice and I can’t believe somebody’s conscience hasn’t got the better of them and they won’t be struck by an act of guilt,”
“I can’t believe the extreme irony of someone leaving a vet by the side of the road. Being left for dead on Anzac Day, a day we remember mateship and self-sacrifice, and he was left as roadkill.”
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss the tragic hit and run death of a well-respected vet and family man, and the police investigation that uncovered the culprit, and another strange death he was connected with from six years earlier.

Mon, 26 Apr 2021 - 38min - 88 - The Lonely Hearts Killer
On the 26th of May 1990 a number of calls came in to 3AW’s late night lonely hearts program called Matchmakers. One seemingly eligible bachelor received several interested parties and potential matches:
“G’Day. I’m Rodney from Castlemaine. I’m 35, a Gemini, and a Marine Biologist. I enjoy basketball and squash. I’m a non-smoker and not a big drinker. I’m just looking for someone to share in my happiness and a quiet life. I like to keep things clean, but otherwise, I have no major hang ups…”
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss the man dubbed The Lonely Hearts Killer, and the monumental failure of the justice system that saw him prematurely released to go on and kill again.

Mon, 19 Apr 2021 - 44min - 87 - Toyah Cordingley
On the 14th of June of 2018, the day after the murder of Melbourne comedian, Eurydice Dixon, police comments in the media drew the ire of the public, with the drawn inference that that women needed to exercise greater care in potentially compromising situations, like walking home alone through a park at night.
Kon Karapanagiotidis, a lawyer and social worker, tweeted the following after police comments to the media:
“I can only imagine the rage and fear women feel to see women die doing everyday mundane things like walking home, like they do too, only to then be told it’s their fault and that they need to be more careful,”
“Stop blaming women. Make men the issue.”
Hundreds of people shared the tweet, including a young 24 year old woman named Toyah Cordingley...
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss the senseless murder of a bright and caring young woman, and the pending extradition of a person of interest.

Mon, 12 Apr 2021 - 40min - 86 - The Melbourne Gangland Killings, Part 5
With Purana still gathering evidence to support their case, Federal Police, led by Agent Jarrod Ragg, who’d been relentlessly pursuing Tony for some time, made the request to have Tony’s bail revoked.
But without the evidence to support their reasoning, Justice Gillard did not revoke bail just yet.
Instead, Tony was free to go after his day in court on Friday March the 17th, 2006.
Outside court, he gave Purana Detective Jim Coghlan from the Asset Location Squad, a new mobile number he was using. Tony smiled at Jim as he scrawled the number on his palm.
On Monday the 20th of March, 2006, Tony didn’t report for bail at South Melbourne Police station, and his legal team led by Con Helitois, were forced to withdraw from the case. Tony had fled, where exactly, was anyone’s guess…
Join Shaun and Chloe for the final instalment of the Melbourne Gangland Killings, as they discuss the international manhunt for Australia’s most wanted man, Tony Mokbel, and the fate of his imprisoned friend and Gangland War instigator, Carl Williams.

Mick was on a mission to find Graham’s killers.
Benji and Carl said they had nothing to do with it, but they’d heard that Asians, possibly the Chinese, had something to do with it.
Mick was unmoved by the suggestion and word had it he was next on the list. He said to Carl;
‘You walk away from this and mind your own business. But anything with you, that’s your problem, but if anything comes my way then I’ll send somebody to you. I’ll be careful with you, you be careful with me. I believe you, you believe me, now we’re even. That’s a warning. It’s not my war.’
But 3 months later the war came to Mick’s doorstep…

Fri, 19 Mar 2021 - 16min - 82 - The Melbourne Gangland Killings, Part 3
Carl Williams had a new attack dog. Andrew “Benji” Veniamin was now spending the best part of his days with a new best mate; despite him allegedly accepting a contract from Jason Moran to off Carl.
The way Benji told it, he’d gotten his way into the roof cavity of Carl’s house one night, and was primed to do the job, when he heard Roberta singing to their daughter Dhakota, while putting her to bed.
Benji knew then, he couldn't kill Carl. Others might think the lure of easy drug money on offer from the likes of Tony Mokbel, and his friend Carl, spoke louder than Roberta’s singing voice.
Whatever the case, Benji had his foot in their camp now, and it wouldn’t be long until he put his skills to use, skills he’d be building up since his childhood…

13th of October 1999
Carl drove his hire car to Gladstone Park, a northwest suburb of Melbourne, and waited for Mark and Jason to arrive.
When they did, the trio hopped into Carl’s hire car and drove around until they found a small reserve in Barrington Crescent. It was mid afternoon, and the small park was flanked by residential homes.
When the subject of prices and past deals gone awry came up, Jason produced a small .22 Derringer and put the barrel to Carl’s gut. ‘No Jason’, Carl yelled, before the shot went off, the slug going into Carl’s abdomen.

6th February 1995, Carlton, Victoria
Alphonse left Lygon St and went to the Richmond Hotel to attend the wake of a dearly departed. He drank and punted until midnight, leaving for a party in St Kilda.
As two partygoers left, they saw Alphonse out the front, his blood boiling amidst a verbal tirade he was unleashing on a man named Greg Workman over a perceived debt.
When it became evident Greg didn’t have the money, Alphonse decided on a different approach. He unloaded a pistol into Greg Workman instead…

Mon, 23 Nov 2020 - 37min - 70 - The Cowra Axe Murders (2008)
Shelly worked her shift and returned to her parents house in Brougham St around 2PM. When she went inside, her Dad, John, was making a cup of tea. But Shelly felt something was off, immediately.
The first thing she noticed was that the latch on her parents bedroom door was snibbed shut, but from the outside. This was strange because if her Mum was inside, she couldn't have locked it from the outside.
Shelly unlatched the door and opened it, and looked in to see her Mum lying on the floor. She turned to John and said, ‘did I just see what I think...?’

Mon, 16 Nov 2020 - 28min - 69 - Prue Bird
Prue awoke well after midday on a warm summer’s day in February, 1992. Her Mum, Jenny, and younger sister, Amanda, had already left home, headed to the local swimming pool. She planned to meet them there after having something to eat.
But Prue never made it to the pool. After heating up a can of creamed corn on the stove, she vanished without a trace…
Join Shaun over a cup of coffee as he runs through this interesting and sad tale, exploring the sordid criminal connections with Prue’s case, and the possibility of its connection to the Russell Street bombers.

Mon, 26 Oct 2020 - 50min - 68 - The Russell Street Bombing
Inside the watch house across the street, which housed the cells of the nearby courthouse, constables Dave Yeoman and Angela Taylor had just fed the prisoners. It was their own lunch time now, and they could smell the fresh sandwiches emanating from the canteen across the road.
‘Whose turn is it to get the munchies?’ asked Angela. The 21 year old rising star was dux of her class at the academy; she had a bright smile, and this was her last shift before going on holidays.
‘I’ll toss you for it,’ Dave said with a smile, before he guessed correctly on the heads or tails and ordered a ham, cheese and tomato sandwich from Angela...

The 5th of October 1997 was a beautiful day on the NSW Sapphire Coast and Nichole Collins and Lauren Barry were a great team who shared a lot of fun times together; this long weekend was just another one of those. At least, it was to this point, as the pair left their campsite, headed down the Bega Tathra Road towards a party. Sadly, the girls wouldn’t make their destination...

Mon, 05 Oct 2020 - 54min - 66 - The Figg Family Murders
Saturday 8th December, 1934, Mylor, South Australia
As dawn broke on this fresh summer’s morning, John Scotland was walking down the main street when he spotted a familiar face. William Arthur Figg was riding his bicycle in Scotland’s direction, wearing a navy suit and a dark felt fedora. Scotland knew Figg as a local woodcutter, and figured he was on his way to work. “Morning Art’, Scotland called out to no reply. Figg kept riding south along Strathalbyn Rd, a haversack on his back, and a double barrelled shotgun un-cocked and slung over his shoulder.
Scotland didn’t know it at this moment, but this would be the last time he’d ever see William Arthur Figg...

Mon, 14 Sep 2020 - 44min - 64 - The Magnetic Drill Gang
Friday 23rd November 1978, Murwillimbah, NSW
Inside the branch of the Bank of NSW, the crew of thieves worked quickly and quietly.
They bypassed the combination lock of the vault and made their way inside. Shrouded in darkness, one of the bandits drilled into the safe, just above the lock, to expose the tumblers. From here, he could manipulate them and gain access.
Another thief cut a hole into the second floor of the building as backup escape plan. But they wouldn’t need it.
Stuffing the paper notes into cardboard boxes, the gang split, jamming the vault door in their wake, over 1.7 million dollars richer than when they entered.

Mon, 31 Aug 2020 - 1h 01min - 62 - Mr Cruel, Part 2
Mr Cruel was a child abductor, sexual predator, and presumed murderer, active in suburban Melbourne during the late eighties to early nineties. He has been quite accurately described as the bogeyman for children who grew up in the area at this time.
The crimes attributable to this unidentified offender are some of the most calculated, meticulous, and sickening we’ve ever seen here in Australia. But it’s what we don’t know, which is a lot, that makes this tale equal parts mysterious and downright frightening...

Mon, 10 Aug 2020 - 57min - 60 - Herman Rockefeller
Andy Kingston arrived at 125 South St in the middle of the day, overcome by insatiable lust.
Bernadette and Mario in unit 2 invited him inside, expecting a visit from the guy they’d spoken to over the phone a number of times now. He was alone, Jenny, his wife, wasn’t with him.
Andy explained that she couldn’t be there this time, but next time, she would. He’d told her about them and she was excited.
He looked nice to both Bernadette and Mario; well dressed, in good shape, a friendly guy. Mario was happy to get things underway, to watch this time around, and Andy and Bernadette had sex in the loungeroom.
Andy notioned for Mario to become involved, but Mario would just watch this time. He’d get his when Jenny came the next time they met…
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss the dark tale of millionaire property mogul, Herman Rockefeller.

Pretty quickly the Detectives stumbled across a solid lead. And this was in a bin nearby, when they found a blood soaked cowboy shirt...

Mon, 06 Apr 2020 - 41min - 46 - The Wollongong Murders, Part 2
Detectives Joe Cassar and Russell Oxford inspected the scene. The house was immaculate, not an item out of place, not a dirty dish left out. Bloodstains lined the hallway leading in to the bedroom where the victim lay. there was a smear of blood on the doorjamb, and in another room nearby, a footprint on the bedspread facing an open window; the like point of escape.
The victim lay slouched over the bed, battered and mutilated, the blood spattering on the walls and bed abundant. The throat had been cut and there was noticeable slashes around the buttocks. Shocking as the crime scene was, however, the most likely perpetrator was safely locked away behind bars… or was he?

Mon, 23 Mar 2020 - 53min - 44 - The Flemington Armed Robbery
Racecourse Road, Flemington, on Friday the 25th of January 2002; Armaguard cash in transit security officers Mohammed Tabiaat and Rebecca Mitchell pulled up in their armoured van just before 10AM. The pair were restocking 2 ATM’s with cash, but the bank branch itself was no longer operational - no staff inside. They just had to enter the premises and refill the machines from the rear.
Mohammed took up his spot on the street, scanning the surrounding area as Rebecca made the cash transfer. And right around when Rebecca reached the front door of the building, Mohammed spotted two balaclava wearing men in dark clothes running towards them. Both of the men were armed; one with a rifle and a revolver, the other with a sawn-off shotgun...

Mon, 02 Mar 2020 - 39min - 43 - The Murder of Kim Barry
After seeing a movie and grabbing a bite to eat, Kim Barry and Donna Holland were up for a drink and dance. The local disco at Crown Gardens was the perfect spot and the vibes were good when the girls arrived.
Donna left a short time later, feeling unwell, and Kim spotted an acquaintance she knew from dance classes; a local coal miner named Graham Potter. The pair had a quick chat at the bar, then went to a quiet spot for a drink of wine.
Sadly, this would be the last drink of wine Kim would ever have…

I drew thee to my Valentine:
The lot was cast and then I drew,
And Fortune said it should be you."

Karen Redmile was working near the intersection of Brunswick and Harcourt Streets; another night in the Valley dealing with client’s requests and negotiating. She was speaking with a man, and this guy had a noticeably deep voice. But the conversation didn’t remain amicable; it became violent.
Those nearby heard glass smashing, and loud thumping noises thereafter. But they didn’t see anything. A short time later, Karen was found on the footpath outside 99 Harcourt St, unconscious and with severe head injuries. Question was, would Karen ever regain consciousness and identify her attacker?

Sun, 15 Dec 2019 - 50min - 39 - Kevin Barlow and Brian Chambers
9th of November 1983. Bayan Lepas International Airport, Penang, Malaysia
There was the usual bustle of activity inside and outside the airport, with a seemingly innumerable fleet of taxis dropping people off and picking up fares. The relentless cluster of passengers travelling to and from domestic and international flights flooded the airport lounges and check-in counters.
Amongst all of the airport activity, two young Australian men aged in their mid-20's alighted from one of the many taxis and entered the airport. One man was carrying a maroon suitcase; he was named Kevin Barlow, and his acquaintance was Brian Chambers.
Barlow approached the check in desk, as Chambers paid the taxi fare, passed through the luggage scanning area, and joined him there. Barlow was sweating and shaking profusely, which drew unwanted attention to him and Chambers. As a consequence, the two were detained and searched by local authorities, where they discovered the maroon suitcase contained 141.9g of pure heroin.
How did these two men end up in this dire situation, almost 5000km from their homes in Perth, Australia? Especially with Malaysia's new highly advertised harsh drug laws at the time, which promised death for the crime they were committing...

Sun, 08 Dec 2019 - 45min - 38 - The Disappearance of Sarah MacDiarmid
11 July 1990. Kananook Train Station, Seaford, Victoria.
At 10:20PMMaria Babacala got off the train and made her way off the platform, crossing the overpass to head out of the station. As the clacking of the train departing for Frankston echoed in the night sky, things again fell silent and she shuffled towards her destination.
But that silence was soon disturbed by the sound of a firm female voice in the distance; ‘give my car keys back and stop fooling around’, the woman said. Maria looked out across the overpass bridge, but it was very dark, and her view of the car park below was obscured by bush. She continued on, hesitantly, wondering what might’ve happened in the darkness below...

Sun, 01 Dec 2019 - 39min - 37 - The Silk-Miller Police Murders
18, July 1998. The Green Papaya Restaurant, Surrey Hills, Victoria.
A dozen staff were closing up for the night in the safe suburban upper class neighbourhood in Melbourne’s East.
Just as the restaurant owner, Leon Dong, had his staff clear the last plate of devoured lemon chicken from the tables, a pair of masked armed robbers stormed into the venue. The older of the two bandits, wearing a Richard Nixon mask, bellowed orders while waving a Smith and Wesson revolver around. The younger bandit, wearing a Ronald Reagan mask, bound the staff in the middle of the restaurant with filament tape.
As Reagan scooped up their loot and wished the bound victims a nice day, the older Nixon, with his paunchy belly and white velcro tab runners turned back and said; ‘Tell the coppers Lucifer was here...'

Sun, 17 Nov 2019 - 1h 17min - 36 - Bandali Debs
19 September 1994. Hallam, Victoria
Constable Jason Bryant and Sergeant Allan Beckwith were patrolling north along Hallam Road, when they spotted a stolen Nissan Bluebird with stolen registration plates backing out of Bowens Timber and Hardware.
Neither of the officers knew the car or plates were stolen at that moment, but the driver was hasty to be on their way, so the police pulled over and let them pass, before putting on their lights and pulling the vehicle over. This was night time so the occupants of the Bluebird may not have known this was a police car, but they soon learnt.
As Sergeant Beckwith left his vehicle to approach the Bluebird, a middle aged husky looking man leapt out of the Nissan with a revolver pointed directly at the officer, then fired a shot...

She said no. Then he pulled her shirt down and told her to undress, reassuring her that he wasn’t going to hurt her. Mrs G, still frightened but no longer paralysed with fear, found her tongue. ‘Don’t you know any girls?’ The attacker with the stocking over his head nodded. ‘Yes, but I like you…’

Sun, 03 Nov 2019 - 1h 19min - 34 - The Tynong North and Frankston Murders
6th of December, 1980, around 2pm.
Graeme Brenchley and Tom Looby were enjoying a day of fox hunting near an old sand quarry. This area was in Tynong North, around Brew Road. The men had permission to hunt there.
For Graeme and Tom to be able to hunt any foxes, they first had to be lured out from safety, and into the area where they were. To do this, the men dumped lamb offal in the nearby scrubland.
They were walking along a secluded bush track near the quarry when Graeme changed course so he could follow a wallaby track.
Unfortunately for Graeme, what he spotted next was not a wallaby. It wasn’t even a fox. It was a grey stocking, with toe bones sticking out…

On April 24, 2018, as many of us remember well, Joseph DeAngelo the alleged Golden State Killer/East Area Rapist/Original Night Stalker was apprehended for a spate of brutal rapes and murders committed throughout California in the mid 1970’s to mid 1980’s.
While the sheer number of victims this offender amassed has never and hopefully will never have an Australian parallel, the unnerving similarities the offender or offenders in this case presents the very real possibility that we might have if it hadn't been for the actions of one victim and two security guards...

The house was dark and every door to the place was locked. Constable Macarty eventually found a bedroom window that was ajar, and managed to pry it open and slide into the dark house. He went to the front door and let Detective Wild in, before the pair turned the lights on and had a wander around.

Sun, 04 Aug 2019 - 30min - 22 - The Snowtown Murders, Part 2
9th of May 1999, Snowtown, South Australia
Jamie and David made the trip to Snowtown, where Jamie had organised for them to check out a cheap computer a mate of his was selling. $200 - a deal that was too good to pass up. They arrived in around an hour, parked out the front of the old bank building and wandered inside.
David saw the computer and then he saw John Bunting, who he knew. 'This is the computer,’ Bunting said, and a second later, his offsider Wagner had David by the throat, and they handcuffed the terrified young man. They led him into an area that had once been a bank manager’s office, and proceeded to make him handover his wallet, PIN, and recite a number of phrases and words into a recording device.
David, shaking like a leaf, turned to his stepbrother and said ‘Jamie, am I going to go home?’
‘Yes,’ Jamie said. ‘Do you promise?’ David asked again. ‘I promise,' Jamie said.
Then Bunting put on Live’s Throwing Copper album, and a maniacal grin spread across Wagner’s face. David wasn’t going home...
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss one of Australia's most brutal and notorious series of serial murders. In part two, they focus on the victims and the police investigation that led to the grisly discovery of the bodies in the barrels within a disused bank vault in Snowtown.

Sun, 28 Jul 2019 - 1h 13min - 21 - The Snowtown Murders, Part 1
Tuesday 16th of August, 1994, Lower Light, 50 kilometres north of Adelaide, South Australia.
No wind and no rain - the perfect conditions for brothers Jack and Ron Finch to conduct weed spraying on their 4000 acre farm. The brothers worked tirelessly all morning. After lunch, they returned to their arduous work, spotting what appeared to be a fox burrow up ahead. Ron pointed it out and Jack manoeuvred the car around the obstacle, before they happened upon a bone. They both took it for a sheep bone at first, but a closer look confirmed otherwise. It was a human skull. ‘That’s no burrow,’ Ron said, 'that’s someone’s grave back there...'

Sun, 21 Jul 2019 - 1h 09min - 20 - The Truro Murders
On 25 April 1978, Bill and Valda Thomas were mushrooming in remote bushland alongside Swamp Road near the South Australian town of Truro, when they stumbled upon what they thought was the bone from the leg of a cow. When they couldn't shake the image from their minds, they returned to the area two days later for another look. Upon closer inspection, they saw that the bone had a shoe attached; inside the shoe was human skin and painted toenails...
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss this slow-burning case about a series of missing women who would remain unconnected until the discovery of several sets of human remains in remote bushland near Truro in 1979. The disappearances were becoming more frequent, until they suddenly stopped. Police would discover from a tip-off there was good reason for that, and their subsequent interview of a submissive and infatuated wingman would paint a horrifying picture of a dominant young and charismatic psychopath.

Sun, 14 Jul 2019 - 1h 06min - 19 - The Family Murders
The bodies of five young men were discovered in the broader area of Adelaide between the years 1979 and 1983. All of the bodies displayed signs of brutal sexual torture, leading to their deaths. Some were mutilated and dismembered.
A doctor was tried and acquitted for one of the murders, and an accountant was imprisoned for life for committing another. But four of the murders remain technically unsolved. The popular theory is that many more people were involved than just this solitary accountant from an outer Adelaide suburb.
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss these series of abhorrent crimes that shocked the state of South Australia. They discuss the victims, their families, the police investigation, the arrests and trials, and finally, 'The Family'. If Bevan Spencer von Einem didn't act alone, then who else was involved?

Sun, 07 Jul 2019 - 1h 10min - 18 - Arthur Brown
Arthur Stanley Brown was charged in 1998 for the August 26, 1970 rape and murder of Judith and Susan Mackay in Townsville, Queensland. The jury failed to reach a verdict and a new trial was blocked on the grounds that Brown was mentally incapable of understanding the charges against him.
Brown's arrest attracted wide publicity, leading to a witness to the abduction of Joanne Ratcliffe and Kirste Gordon from the Adelaide Oval in 1973 identifying him as the man she had seen. Brown was subsequently linked the the Disappearance of the Beaumont Children, and other cold cases.
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss the sick and twisted life of a man who, in death, is just as much a phantom as he was in life. Nicknamed the Scarlet Pimpernel for his ability to show up anywhere, anytime, his history is largely unaccounted for, meaning we will likely never truly know just how evil he was...

Sun, 30 Jun 2019 - 56min - 17 - The Abduction of Joanne Ratcliffe and Kirste Gordon
Joanne Ratcliffe (11) and Kirste Gordon (4) were abducted while attending an Australian rules football match at the Adelaide Oval on 25 August 1973. Despite the case making national headlines at the time, the presumed abduction and murder is often linked and overshadowed by the disappearance of the Beaumont children in 1966. The case is also referred to as the Adelaide Oval Abductions.
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss the girls and their families, the details of the abductions, sightings of the perpetrator, police investigation and suspects. In the latter part of the episode, as Shaun dug deeper into the research of this case, two seemingly missed leads and a disturbing theory in connection with a remote South Australian town surfaced, suggesting a potentially dark and twisted end to this case and possibly many others...

Sun, 28 Apr 2019 - 13min - 10 - Katherine Knight
Katherine Knight is a woman whose early exposure to violent sexual behaviour compounded with a loose wire somewhere in her brain. She grew to use violence and sex as tools to manipulate the many male partners she'd ensnare over the years.
All of these men would experience the anger and vindictiveness of Katherine firsthand. Unfortunately for one of those men, it was also the last thing he ever experienced...
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss the background of the first female in Australian history to receive a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole. They talk about Katherine's childhood, her relationships and the domestic violence her partners endured, and the details of the gruesome murder of John Price that stunned the small town of Aberdeen, NSW and the entire nation.

Sun, 21 Apr 2019 - 1h 28min - 9 - Terror at Salt Creek
The Australian horror movie Wolf Creek has only gained in popularity over the past decade since its release, spawning a sequel and spin-off television series. But it's a work of fiction. Something that terrifying wouldn't happen in reality, and if it had, you'd know about it...right?
Join Shaun and Chloe as they discuss the terrifying ordeal two backpackers named Lena and Beatriz endured at the hands of a very real monster at Salt Creek, South Australia, in 2016. While our movie-watching brains can compartmentalise Mick Taylor's acts as being purely make believe, hearing the horror these women endured at the hands of Roman Heinze is something you'll immediately want to forget. But it mightn't be that easy...
