In the session this month we jam down to some new tracks from Samory I, Kumar, Jesse Royal, Busy Signal, Kezanamdi, Ky-Mani Marley, Gentleman and Zamunda. Then after the break we speak to Mortimer about his new Album "From Within" which was released today. We discuss his experience making such a personal album, simplifying the process, and being transparent about his life. After our conversation, we listen to a few new tracks from his album mixed with a few of my favorites. Lastly, we do a Deeep Diiive Into Duuuubb.

In this Interview session, we speak to Maurice Tha General from Nairobi, Kenya, who has just released his Overstand Mixtape. We talk about his upbringing and love for Reggae Music, which spans all the way back to his Grandfather, who was a Chief and played Reggae for everyone who would listen. Maurice has taken that generational love of reggae music into his own hands by producing some really good music, which we will be playing along the way. Maurice and the Overstand Mixtape are not to be missed. Lock and load your eardrums for some killer music and a talk with one of the more interesting people I've spoken to in awhile.

I caught up with Samory I the morning after his Album Release party for "Strength."  7 Years after our first interview and months before the release of Black Gold, a lot has changed in Samory's life. From his experience in the creation of Rory Stonelove's Black Gold, to his Collaboration with Winta James on the production of his new album Strength.  I would say Samory I has evolved from a reggae singer to an artist and that his new Album should be a strong contender for next year's Grammys.  Listen to our conversation, along with some of his most recent tracks, and understand why the artist, Samory I, and his new album, "Strength," are what you should be listening to right now.

I call it Mahalo Reggae, because artists like Anuhea, Siaosi, Irie Love, The Green, J-Boog, Fiji, Eli-Mac, Hot Rain and others seem to be able to create a perfect balance with that beautiful rootsy sounds with amazing vocals and it just makes me want to personally say Mahalo to all the artists in this session. I'm not the only one! Some of Jamaica's biggest labels have also noticed that the Hawaiian Islands can keep up with JA's best.
