Full Freedom

This episode was so fun to record and we have a great time digging deep! Martin has gone from being a Pastor of many years to working on some projects and not having a 'title'. We talk about the freedom that comes when we understand the worth we have in Christ and that it's not about measuring our life on the things we produce, but on how our hearts respond to God. God is more interested in our heart posture than all the things we can 'do' in life. This episode will encourage and challenge you to understand what's going on in your heart.

In this episode I talk to my friend Joseph who is 20 years old and who was born into a christian family. Joseph talks about how he felt he had to earn God's grace growing up by being a 'good christian'. He speaks about the journey God has him on and how God opens his eyes to His true character at 18 years old and how he doesn't have to constantly strive to gain God's favour anymore. We go into how that knowledge has changed his relationship with God. Josephs joy in what Jesus has done for him is so evident! You will definitely be encouraged with this one (Listen at the end when his dad accidentally interrupts the podcast!).

This honest conversation will inspire and encourage you whether you have been a Christian for 20 years or 2 weeks. Sharon talks about how God pursued her and led her into true freedom and how that has changed the way she views God, Christianity and others. Sharon speaks about her mindset that kept her in bondage for years and how walking in the new found freedom God revealed has changed her life. You won't regret listening to this!

Stef is a leader at Revelation church London, and also helps churches within the Relational Mission sphere encouraging leaders and helping growth. Stef was a chameleon growing up, always trying to fit in and getting people to like him by making jokes. He shares how God helped him to overcome what people thought of him and how to stand in his true identity in Christ. He also shares how walking the path God has for him feels too big and that he isn't good enough for the task; but encourages us that's where we grow and where God is glorified the most!

In part 2 Phil speaks about how he dealt with life's struggles and difficulties, knowing what the bible says about fear and our emotions. He helps us to see our faith as a jigsaw puzzle rather than a house of cards. He also encourages us to build healthy friendships, looking at Jesus and the 3, before our grief, before our loss of job etc. and how that helped him in his grief. His new book 'The Best of friends' is out now!

Phil is an author and evangelist currently working for the Evangelical Alliance. He talks about the decision to believe and trust God when his Dad died at the age of 48. He talks about how God showed up inside his grief, and how God used people to comfort and just be with him when his mum died in 2020 during the Covid Pandemic. His story will encourage you if you are going through any kind of loss and grief. He tells of how having a relationship with God helped him through and continues to help in the hardest and darkest times of life. 

Rachael encourages believers in Christ that it is a relationship with Him that will get you through the hard seasons in life; not religious acts or pretending everything is fine. A personal relationship that surpasses anything religion. 

Rachael Heffer from Evangelical Alliance talks about her relationship with God through the toughest season of her life and how she had a choice: to either be angry with God and distance herself or trust in His word and cling to Him like never before. She explores how there is freedom when you have the hope of Jesus in the darkest of times.

In this second part of the podcast Jonathan spoke very honestly about his struggle with lust, pornography and masturbation. He speaks of how God showed him what he was truly searching for when indulging in this things and how we can all have hope when we give everything to God. Jonathan talks about how he lives with such clarity knowing God's love for him, as well as giving some practical tips of how to be free in this area. We also have a timely interruption at the end of the recording :D
