  • 25 - God in Gethsemane

Gethsemane is a metaphorical location of pain and suffering, it indicates and aggrandises the true meaning of suffering. Gethsemane is a place of weeping but also preparation for what will come ( pain). Gethsemane is where christ weep and prayed that the cup, his cup of suffering will elude him, he hoped that the hammer of pain will be stopped before it lands. He realized that he couldn't avoid what was coming  "the death on the cross". A death he didn't deserve but was more than willing to pay for.

  • 23 - Africa's future, the history to come

History facilitates a proper understanding of current realities and serves as a means of the

    forecast.

With Africa in focus, our history ought to be descriptive, prescriptive, and predictive. However,

the existence of pseudohistory poses a threat and limitation to the power of our history.

The whitewashing, inaccuracy, and denial of events in African history ought to be seen as a

    hindrance to the continent's emancipation.

The present-day occurrences in Africa will undeniably play a crucial role in our future. These

events will potentially catalyze change- either positive or negative.

What is the impact of African history on her recent experience across the board?

How can we safeguard our present and ensure it is appropriately told as history in the future?

With a futuristic view, let us analyze our today, looking at the potentials and resources that can

be galvanized to yield future results.

Let us examine pointers from our history, which can be applied to our present and take us into

    the future we desire.

Every tomorrow was today. How will Africa's today influence her tomorrow?

What will the future of Africa look like?

  • 22 - African Youth the hope or a ticking time bomb

Africa is a continent blessed with a teeming youthful population. In recent times, we have

witnessed a wave of political consciousness sweep across Africa - from Nigeria to Uganda to

Congo- with the youth being at the forefront of this demand for political change. The last time

the continent uniformly witnessed this wave of consciousness and activism was during the

nationalist fight for independence from the colonialists. This time, the two factions that exist are

internal – the younger generation vs. the older generation's government.

  • 21 - Culture and Faith: the hope for greater things

Two primary faiths divide our home Africa; Christianity and Islam. These two faiths have the same ancestral father ( Abraham), yet we see much bigotry amongst those who practice this faith. There is an apparent dichotomy between them. This dichotomy is in their approach and worship of God and their world views of life after death. However, they share similar societal and moral values. With these similarities, we still see bigotry, religious wars.

We can also see the similarities between the tribe and ethnicity, which seek to uphold peace, justice, love, and serenity. Yet, we still have seen bigotry, microaggression, and tribalism.

This topic explains how cultural values and faith are pivotal to sustaining and developing our countries and our home in Africa that we hope to build.

Family is the building block of a nation and without a healthy family and cultural values. Society slip into the cancer of social vices and abnormalities. The church and mosque are the main factors to urge moral living and peaceful coexistence with others: Treating each other with love and kindness.

In conclusion, we will speak about why our culture and faith are critical in sustaining growth
