Sometimes I think we focus too much on keeping it together. And other times I think we focus too much on being ALL in our feelings.
I found a post the other day that said some days will be sad days and other days will be bad b**** days. I honestly was happy to know that ok SO I can be BOTH lol? That my feelings ARE valid and that I can fluctuate between the two? I LOVE being happy, but I am not abnormal if I get sad too?
Our feelings are hard to process and we have to try to understand that it takes time. That whatever you are going through we should try not to wait until we hit rock bottom to process them.
Just know we can have off seasons and cloud 9 days.

I know in the moment if feels heavy, hard or annoying, but maybe the timing isn't right. I know cliche. That there is a reason to why something happened or didn't happen. That it is hard to trust the moment, but something bigger and better is coming for you.
Oddly, related but over the weekend my husband and I seen an accident. Just mins before the accident we were complaining in a parking lot about how our fast food was taking so long. Not knowing that things could have changed drastically if we would have got our food on time or sooner.
Just know it may not seem like if but God, the universe or whoever you believe is watching over you and trying to protect you.

Have you heard about how energy flow works through the use of movement?
Something about the other day when I was driving to work listening to Cathy Heler's Podcast Don't Keep Your Day Job really stuck out to me. She talks about how if your stagnant then imagine a pond. A pond is murky, growing algae, dirty, makes you feel unsure of what is in it vs a stream. That with a stream it has constant flow and is usually pretty clear, you can see what is in it even on the slow movement days and there is direction.
Something about this analogy just makes sense when you it apply it to your daily situations.

So last year at Rachel Hollis's Conference I was encouraged to pick a 2020 word. I thought ok...what am I going to do with that word?
So I picked a word, but never thought anything would come about it. Over the last year I did things I WOULD HAVE NEVER thought twice about. My word was FEARLESS and for those who know me isn't exactly who I am lol. I ran with it and over time decided to become a podcaster, create a Youtube Channel, get certified in yoga and went white water rafting with my best friend. Trust me I didn't wake up thinking yup that is what I am going to do. Half of them I said no to at least 5 times before actually committing.
I am so glad that a word that I thought was JUST a word became so much more. So I challenge you to PICK YOUR 2021 word!

Do you ever catch yourself thinking..."what have I been doing?" Does life feel like it is passing you by?
Well for 1. Covid doesn't help and/or 2. You may be doing the same routine day in and day out.
This week things aligned and 3 different people expressed thinking about your quality of life.
This Doctor, Dr. Hyman that my coworker and dad follow talked about lifespan vs heatlhspan. He talked about how people tend to live longer, but are they living a quality life? You could live to be 100 but are you ACTUALLY living? Is your health where you want it to be? Are you grasping what is going on?
Then this book I am reading Hello Fears by Michelle Poler talks about how over time our brains store memories in "boxes." That if you are doing the same routine over time your brain summarizes it into wake up, eat, work, lunch, work, go home, eat, sleep, repeat (ok tailor it to your day lol) and that is what your only memory is for the next 1,2,3+ years. How crazy is that? However, if you switch things up your brain starts storing memories individually.
Graham Cochran talks about for his business he goes on these business retreats. These retreats include him, a hotel or a day or the weekend and stuff to plan for a year of business content. He stresses the importance of stepping away from your environment to get creative juices flowing and go all in without distractions.

We don't get to choose when to work on our trauma. Many of us including Kyle and myself have neglected working on our unresolved feelings as many others have. Yes, everyone's definition of "trauma" is different. What we have realized is unresolved feelings can and will come when we least expect it.
When you are ready we encourage you as Kyle puts it to "work through, go through and grow through" it. Just know you are NOT ALONE. When Kyle started writing his book he found out that he had not worked through his childhood issues.
What started out as a joke in which he said was him writing his own book and publishing it soon became his way of processing his past.
Kyle's journey has lead him to become Sober, a Recovery Coach, Actor and Author of Be The First You. Also, stay tuned for his future books!

Have you talked to someone and they were just scrolling on their phone and you felt like they were giving you half their attention? Do you get all happy when someone tells you "I appreciate you" or "I see how hard you been working." If so, these are a few examples of the 5 love languages specifically, quality time and words of affirmation. It is important to know what your own love language is and what others are such as your spouse, best friend and maybe a close family members (I know it is more tailored for spouses, but it is helpful in other relationships too). By knowing your love language it helps you understand what your way of communication is through love. Have you ever thought well I'm not perfect at this topic or situation so I give up. Or I'll never be able to do this?
Well friend, I too am guilty.
I get in these mind states that IT HAS TO BE PERFECT before I share my idea or share what I have been working on. Or that hey, I was doing good for a couple days, but Wednesday came around and I ate that cupcake or I skipped a gym day so I guess I should just stop trying. Or that since I do not have all the high tech equipment I will never succeed at being a podcaster. Fill in the blank for you.
We and I forget sometimes that the ACT of doing is STILL beneficial. That you can mess up and that makes you human. That bouncing back and JUST STARTING is MORE advantageous then waiting til everything is perfect.

In society we are given this road map of how life is SUPPOSED to be. That if you follow the directions you will end up at your destination and you will be happy and achieve everything your supposed to. That is....... IF you stay on the path. What if someone had told you that it is ok to venture off? That instead refer to the map as a guidance rather than a MUST follow. Do you get highly stressed out with bills, providing for your family or yourself, wearing too many hats constantly? Then you may be stuck in the (I'm getting eaten by a tiger stage).
I try to break down the Sympathetic Nervous System (fight or flight) and Parasympathetic Nervous System (rest/digest) to help you understand what could be happening in your body and how it has related to my own.
I break down and talk about how chronic (long term) stress can hinder your health. On the other spectrum I give some tips on how to get back to or swing toward the rest and digest phase, because in the end we should be fluctuating between the two.

Why is it so easy to down play our victories?
This week I talk about how I down played my own victory of reaching 500 LISTENS on this podcast! That who am I to get all excited about that many listeners? That there are people out there who have reached 500 in like a couple weeks or days compared to me who took a couple months.
I talk about how we NEED to stop down bursting our own bubbles and how we should be celebrating more of our accomplishments. That we should be proud of yourselves and that we ARE a working progress.
That having healthy relationships around who help see our victories too instead of putting us down.
That instead of being jealous of people who reached their goals. That we instead become genuinely happy for them cause they too had to start somewhere.
And to just LIVE IN THE MOMENT. If you reached your goal THROW CONFETTI in the air, eat that ice cream bar, post about it whatever makes your heart happy!

Through my yoga teacher training I have learned SOOOOO much about myself and yoga altogether. Some of the things I felt like I should have known already, but never put two and two together. 1. It is ok to use blocks and modified poses 2. Each person is unique in their physical make up which can alter their poses or prevent them from doing certain ones 3. Having the mind state if i "stretch more" I'll be able to sink into "that pose" (false in some aspects) 4. You should feel sweetness and some heat in poses not sharp stabbing pain 5. Breathing with movement or during mediation helps you get in the NOW 6. A lot of inner self development occurs in yoga I hope to teach new insight in yoga that it is NOT " just poses" but so much more :)
