I love hearing stories about family food traditions. I sit down with my German friends to learn more about German cuisine, how their family incorporates German culture through food, and some insight from my friend Mike who has been to Berlin and shared his experience eating in Germany. Ever curious about what a traditional German meal looks like? Or what is the origin behind Oktoberfest?

This episode features my friend Natalie to discuss Korean cuisine! Natalie was born and raised in Korea and came to the US when she was ten years old. Besides the most popular Korean dishes such as bulgogi or marinated beef, and what you get at Korean bbq restaurants, we talk about some of the lesser known Korean foods we should know about. Natalie can be found on Youtube doing mukbang videos where she eats a large amount of food in one sitting! My wonderful friend Mia and her soul sister Bao teach me all about the food of Madagascar. This is the first time I am hearing of this cuisine. It is very unique that I'm pretty sure there isn't a local Malagasy restaurant around the DMV area but you never know when it might just pop up somewhere! Here is my interview with my great uncle, Uncle Honor joined by several others from the fam. Uncle Honor is a man of a few words but is well traveled and has many stories to share. His late wife, Auntie Setsuko was Japanese so I was curious what it was like for them to have Japanese and Filipino cuisine in one household.
