Bonnie Parker and Clyde Barrow went on a 21-month long crime spree along with the “Barrow Gang” in the 1930s, committing 12 murders and many robberies, car thefts, and kidnappings. On May 23rd, 1934, the couple was ambushed with over 100 bullet holes marking their car, which is on display in Nevada to this day. On January 4th, 2008, a clerk at a gas station in DeKalb County, Georgia watched a man vacuuming out his van. Just hours earlier, the clerk had seen that same man in news reports – he was identified as a person of interest in the disappearance of a woman from three days prior. This man was Gary Hilton, and while he was initially only a person of interest in the disappearance and murder of Meredith Emerson, he ended up being charged with 4 murders in total (and suspected of many more) and became known as the “National Forest Serial Killer” who killed Meredith Emerson, Cheryl Dunlap, and Irene and John Bryant in 2007 and 2008. On March 14, 1960, 47-year-old Frances Murphy, 50-year-old Mildred Lindquist, and 50-year-old Lillian Oetting took a four-day trip to Starved Rock State Park, in LaSalle County, Illinois. After checking into the Starved Rock Lodge, the three women decided to take an afternoon hike to the St. Louis Canyon. Unfortunately, they were never seen alive again. Two days later, Frances, Mildred and Lillian were found inside a cave in the canyon. All 3 women were partially nude, bound with twine and their faces had been bludgeoned beyond recognition. Over 60 years later a lot of theories and questions still surround their case. Whitney Cerak and Laura van Ryn were involved in a tragic accident in April of 2006. They were both students at Taylor University in Indiana, when a van they were riding in collided with a semi truck a top speed and several people were killed instantly. In June 1979, a fire broke out on the Ghost Train ride at Luna Park, an amusement park in New South Wales, Australia. On September 23rd, 2019, Stephanie Parze filed an assault domestic violence complaint against her boyfriend, John Ozbilgen. By October, weird things were occurring at Stephanie’s house in Freehold Township, New Jersey, and she told her family she believed someone was breaking in and messing with her. The Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital, a public hospital in New Jersey operated for 67 years providing long-term treatment for adults and children, has been riddled with allegations of abuse, neglect and hospital escapees. The hospital was demolished in 2015, but to this day, some say the land the hospital once sat on remains haunted and legend of a murderous farmer occupying the slaughterhouse is still told among those who visit. On Halloween night 61 years ago, 70 year old Lillian Armstrong didn’t show up for choir practice. When her cousin couldn’t get her to answer the door the next day, she called the police. On August 20, 1989, José and Kitty Menendez were shot to death in their upscale Beverly Hills home. In November 2015, Amy Vilardi went to her mother’s home to check on her when she found a gruesome scene: her mother, Cathy Scott, her husband, Mike Scott, and their parents, Barbara Scott and Violet Taylor had been murdered. Laureen Rahn disappeared on April 26, 1980, from her home in Manchester, New Hampshire. At the time of her disappearance, she was only 14 years old, a young girl with her whole life ahead of her. In March 2020, 33-year-old Holly Boisvert was arrested in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin. The Jeff Davis 8, which is also referred to as the Jennings 8, is a series of unsolved murders that occurred in Jefferson Davis Parish, Louisiana, from 2005 to 2009. During this period, the grim discovery of the bodies of eight women were made in swamps, canals and wooded areas that are located around the town of Jennings. The victims of these crimes were Loretta Chassion Lewis, Ernestine Daniels Patterson, Kristen Lopez, Whitnei Dubois, Laconia Brown, Crystal Zeno, Brittney Gary, and Necole Guillory. These women shared several common traits, including poverty, struggles with drug use, and involvement in sex work. On January 26, 2011, 27-year-old Ellen Greenberg left work early due to an unexpected nor’easter that was descending upon Philadelphia, where she lived. On January 12, 1995, three evil individuals brutally tortured and killed 19-year-old Colleen Slemmer, for no reason. Among them, Christa Pike was sentenced to death and is currently residing on death row in Tennessee for her role in this horrifying crime. David Parker Ray is often regarded as a true monster due to his heinous acts. It is believed that from the mid-1950s until 1999, the year he was finally apprehended, he kidnapped, raped, tortured, and ultimately killed an estimated 40 to 60 individuals, with a significant portion of these victims being women. His reign of terror came to an end thanks to the incredible bravery of a survivor, Cynthia Vigil, who managed to escape from what he referred to as his “toy box.” This courageous act led to the eventual arrest of Ray and his accomplices, who were subsequently sentenced to prison for their appalling crimes. To this day, the FBI continues to seek the public's assistance in identifying numerous items that were collected during the investigation, which includes jewelry and women’s clothing they believe once belonged to Ray's victims. In the 1970s, serial killer Rodney Alcala killed at least 7 people in California, New York, and likely many other states. When he was arrested, hundreds of photographs of men, women, and children were found that he had taken as a “professional photographer”, and many were extremely explicit. While he was eventually convicted of 7 murders and other crimes, it is believed the hundreds of unidentified subjects of his photographs could be victims of Alcala’s that are currently cold cases. Between 1992 and 1999, four men in South Australia murdered 12 people - most of whom were friends or family members. In May 1999, investigators were working on a missing persons investigation when they discovered barrels hidden in an old bank vault in Snowtown, South Australia. On January 2, 2014, 30-year-old Ernesto “Gibby” Galvan mysteriously vanished without a trace. Gannon Stauch was just 11 years old when he went missing in January 2020. On the night of May 10th, 2004, 22 year old Sonya Tukes was at her sister's home in Tennille, Georgia, when she received a phone call at approximately 1:15 am. Molly Young was found dead by her boyfriend in his apartment in March 2012. Officially, after a jury and coroner’s inquest, her cause of death has still been ruled as “undetermined”, and there has never been enough evidence to bring any charges. But Molly’s father Larry is sure that she met with foul play and is hopeful that one day, somebody will be charged. On October 18, 2016, Freda Jane KnowsHisGun stood patiently at a Walmart in Kennewick, Washington, awaiting an online money transfer from her friend. This transfer would have allowed her to make the journey back to her hometown of Crow Agency, Montana, where she was a member of the Crow Tribe. Fifteen minutes passed and Freda's friend decided to call her to check if she had collected the transfer. However, to their dismay, her phone had been disconnected. Freda disappeared without a trace and her family needs to know what happened to their loved one. Fifty-year-old Judy Smith disappeared during a trip to PhiladelphiaIn in April of 1997, under extremely mysterious circumstances. Five months later, Judy's remains were discovered in North Carolina. Echo Lloyd mysteriously disappeared on May 10, 2020 from rural Missouri. To this day, her whereabouts remain unknown. Echo's family is desperate for her return. At the time of her disappearance Echo Llyod was 47 years old, 5’4 tall and weighed approx. 100 – 110 pounds. She is a white female with brown hair and brown eyes. It’s unclear what clothing she may have been wearing that day. Connie Dabate, a mother of two, returned to her home in Ellington, CT on the morning of December 23, 2015 to a masked intruder in her home - or at least that’s the story her husband told. Over a year later, the arrest made in her case would shock the community and lead to more questions about what was going on behind the scenes. In February 2010, the 4 members of the McStay family - Joseph, Summer, Gianni, and Joseph Jr. - disappeared from their home in Fallbrook, CA. For the next several years, many believed they were voluntarily missing, but their family was sure they had met with foul play. On the morning of July 20, 2020, Grant Solomon lost his life in what appeared to be a tragic accident, where he was reportedly struck by his own truck. In 1971, Philip Zimbardo recruited participants to take on the roles of “prisoners” and “guards” to investigate the psychological effects of perceived power; Zimbardo's primary reason for conducting the experiment was to focus on the power of roles, rules, symbols, group identity and situational validation of behavior that generally would repulse ordinary individuals. But the experiment had to be terminated over a week earlier than expected due to how the participants began to act. On September 14, 2007, 14-year-old Andrew Gosden inexplicably disappearance. Andrew, who was from Doncaster, South Yorkshire, made the decision to skip school, he withdrew £200 from his bank account, and purchased a one-way train ticket to London. CCTV footage captured Andrew's final known moments at King's Cross Station in London, showing him exiting the station alone. On May 24th, 2019, Jennifer Farber Dulos, a mom of five from Connecticut, disappeared while in the midst of a contentious divorce with her husband, Fotis Dulos. In January 2020, Fotis and his then-girlfirned Michelle Troconis were arrested and charged in connection with Jennifer’s murder, but before Fotis Dulos could face justice, he took his life. This year (2024), Michelle Troconis finally faced trial on the charges of conspiracy to commit murder, tampering with evidence, and hindering the prosecution. While her conviction was a small form of justice, Jennifer’s family and friends are still hopeful that one day her body will be found and they will be able to lay her to rest. Karlie Gusé was last seen on October 13, 2018 walking towards Highway 6 after leaving her residence in the White Mountain Estates area of Chalfant, California. She was asleep in the same room as her stepmother when at some point between 5 am and 7:30 a.m. her stepmother awoke and realized Karlie was gone. Karlie was spotted by 3 witnesses walking down the road towards U.S. 6 and seemed to be disoriented. After this, Karlie was never seen again. On April 26th, 2010, Ali Lowitzer, texted her mother right after she stepped off her school bus. She was letting her mother know that she planned to walk to Burger Barn, the restaurant where she worked, to collect her paycheck and hopefully pick up an extra shift. Despite the close proximity of Burger Barn to her house, less than a half-mile away, Ali had never walked there previously. Ali  failed to reach Burger Barn, never returning home later that evening. On May 18, 1989, 2-year-old Christopher Dansby was playing with his mother at the Martin Luther King Jr. Towers playground in Harlem, New York. His mother, Allison Dansby, needed to run an errand and left Christopher in the care of her own mother. Upon Allison's return, Christopher was nowhere to be found, vanishing without a trace. Then, nearly three months later on August 10, 1989, one-year-old Shane Anthony Walker was also at the same playground in Harlem with his mother, Rosa Glover, when Rosa was momentarily distracted, Shane disappeared. The circumstances of these disappearances raise questions, was there a potential connection in these cases or was this an inexplicable coincidence? Regardless  these cases have baffled not only investigators, but the families and their community alike. Leah Roberts seemingly took off on a spontaneous cross-country trip to see the beautiful mountains in Washington that her favorite author, Jack Kerouac, had once described. She had been through several tragedies and was living her “second chance” at life, but 9 days after she left her home in North Carolina, her car was found crashed and abandoned. And Leah has never been seen since.  Leah Roberts is currently classified as endangered missing. At the time of her disappearance, she had blonde hair and blue eyes and was about 5’6” and 130lbs. She has a surgical scar on her right hip and a metal rod in her leg. She has pierced ears and dimples. She would be 47 years old today. Twenty-three-year-old Alonzo Brooks attended a party in April of 2004, despite being a homebody, he decided to accompany a few friends to La Cynge, Kansas. Throughout the evening, Alonzo's friends gradually departed, leaving him stranded with no means of getting back home. The next day, Alonzo had not returned, triggering immediate concern from his family. Nearly a month later, his body was discovered under highly suspicious circumstances. To this day, Alonzo's mysterious death remains unsolved. Yvonne Menke was heading to warm up her car outside her apartment in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin on December 12, 1985 when she was fatally shot 3 times. Two sisters, 15 year old Barbara and 12 year old Patricia Grimes, disappeared after watching a movie at the Brighton Park Movie Theater in Chicago on December 28, 1956. Shemika Cosey was 16-years-old girl when she vanished from Berkeley, Missouri on December 28, 2008, between 1:30 and 8:30 a.m. It was at her aunt's residence, where she had spent the night with her cousin, that she was last seen. Despite the absence of evident foul play, Shemika’s family is convinced that someone is responsible for her disappearance. They firmly believe that something must have happened to her, as she would not have stayed missing for such an extended period without some kind of issue arising. On June 13, 2001, 19 year old Jason Jolkowski received a call from his boss at Fazoli’s, an Italian American chain restaurant, asking if he could come into work early. Jason’s car was in the shop, so he planned for his coworker to pick him up instead. They arranged to meet at Benson High School as it was only about a half mile from his house. Somewhere between 11:15 and 11:30 a.m., Jason’s coworker called his house to see where he was. Jason never made it to Benson High School, in fact he has never been seen or heard from again. It’s been over 27 years since 64-year-old Abe Lebewohl was gunned down in front of the NatWest Bank in East Village, NY. On March 4, 1996, Abe was at the bank dropping off a $12,000 deposit from his place of business, the Second Avenue Deli, when he was robbed and killed. On March 21, 1979, 18-year-old Carol Lannen was found tied up and nude in the Templeton Woods in Dundee, Scotland. She had been strangled to death. Almost exactly a year later, on February 26, 1980, the partially nude body of 20-year-old Elizabeth McCabe was found less than 150 yards away from where Carol had been discovered.
