If you're a fan of horror movies, then you know all about the final girl.  She's the woman who survives the killer, and usually kills him or her.  Mike weighs in on who should and shouldn’t be on the list and what movies are worth seeing if you haven’t.  In the Movie Review, Mike gives his thoughts on Smile 2. He answers the questions he had going into it: Did it improve on the original, was it all about the jump scares and were his trailer predictions right? In the Trailer Park, Mike talks about Nicole Kidman’s erotic thriller “Babygirl” from A24.  She plays a business executive who has an affair with a young intern, played by Harris Dickinson.

It’s been a busy month already but it’s time to talk about Mike and Kelsey’s Best and Worst Movies for the month of September. In the Movie Review, Mike talks about the Wild Robot. In honor of Hispanic Heritage Month, Mike shares his list of movies that are essential to celebrate Mexican-American life. He shares the stories that were most impacted on his life and represented what it was like for him growing up and struggles he had to face as a 1st generation American. With the passing of James Earl Jones last week, Mike wanted to take time to recognize his amazing work in voice acting from voicing Mufasa in the Lion King to Darth Vader in Star Wars. Mike shares his Top 10 favorite voice acting performances in animation. In the Movie Review, Mike gives his review of Speak No Evil  starring James McAvoy. It’s about a family who gets invited to spend a whole weekend in a lonely home in the countryside, but as the weekend progresses, they'll soon realize that the family who invited them has a dark side lying inside them. Mike shares how the movie did with a $15 million dollar budget, why James McAvoy is an underrated actor and whether or not you need to see this movie in theaters or wait for it to stream at home.  In the Trailer Park, Mikes shares how he is excited for someone to finally have a biopic that breaks the mold. LEGO bricks tell the life story of singer/songwriter and record producer Pharrell Williams. From his childhood in Virginia to his success in the music and fashion industry ... .all while the people being interviewed for the movie had no idea it was going to be a Lego movie!

Movie Mike hops in for an emergency podcast to talk about the news that broke last night at Comic-Con in San Diego. Robert Downey Jr. is set to return to the film franchise as classic Fantastic Four villain Doctor Doom for the newly titled Avengers: Doomsday, due out in May 2026, and Avengers: Secret Wars, bowing in May 2027. Kevin Feige also officially confirmed the Russo bros. will direct these next two Avengers films. Mike gives his thoughts on if he likes the decision to bring RDJ back, if it feels like a cash grab and the one worry he has that will be crucial to the success of the next two Avengers movies.

One of Mike’s favorite movies of all-time is Twister (1996). He’s seen it over 50 times and was pumped to talk to the director Jan de Bont. Mike talks to him about what lines were improvised, the entire cast getting along and bonding, the hardest scene to film and if there’s anything he would change about the movie.
