The Black Monk of Pontefract haunting at 30 East Drive, in Pontefract, West Yorkshire, is one of the most famous and chilling hauntings in England. The haunting is centered on the supposed ghost of a 16th-century monk, believed to have been executed for heinous crimes. Locals later nicknamed this spirit "The Black Monk" due to its dark robes and sinister reputation. The haunting started in the 1960s, after the Pritchard family moved into 30 East Drive. They soon experienced strange occurrences, such as lights turning on and off, strange cold gusts, and objects moving on their own. The activity escalated with increasingly violent poltergeist behavior, from loud bangs and the spilling of powders and liquids to unseen forces allegedly pulling, scratching, and even choking family members. The family reported seeing a tall, dark figure with a monk-like appearance, whom they believed was responsible. Since then, 30 East Drive has attracted many paranormal investigators and ghost hunters, with reports of disturbing occurrences continuing. In November 2011, the Ammons moved into a rental home in Gary, Indiana. Soon after, strange and frightening things began to occur. Latoya’s mother, Rosa Campbell, saw the shadow of a man pacing their living room and Latoya witnessed her then-12-year-old daughter levitating above a bed. The family sought religious counsel and advice from clairvoyants who claimed that more than 200 demons or spirits controlled the Carolina Street home. The Croglin Grange Vampire exists within the realms of the paranormal. But what was this creature? There was once such an entity that appeared to dwell solely in the realm of fiction and fantasy, the vampire. However, despite the seemingly mythical nature of these immortal, blood-drinking beings, there are instances that have surfaced as purported encounters with these creatures, and one such account allegedly occurred in the tranquil English countryside in the late 1800s. It is a tale that has become a curious part of local lore and a historical anomaly, still discussed to this day. In the idyllic countryside of Cumberland, North West England, this tale began unfolding in 1875. It was that spring when two brothers, Edward and Michael Cranswell, along with their sister Amelia, ventured to this region and temporarily took up residence in a modest single-story stone farmhouse known as the Croglin Grange. Overlooking the picturesque valley and nestled near an ancient churchyard. It was here that they encountered an entity that would come to be known in legend as the Croglin Grange Vampire. This is a long forgotten, dare I say, untold story.

Borley Rectory was a house located in Borley, Essex, famous for being described as "the most haunted house in England" by psychic researcher Harry Price. Built in 1862 to house the rector of the parish of Borley and his family, the house was badly damaged by fire in 1939 and demolished in 1944. Black Hope Cemetery was an African-American burial ground. Former slaves were buried there with the last burial in 1939 and as many as 60 people had been interred there in pauper's graves. The land now known as the Newport Subdivision was originally owned by the Mercer McKinney family who were wealthy land owners, farmers and former slave owners. He owned 5 slaves. When slavery was abolished the McKinney family gave a portion of their land to their former slaves. An entire black community was built on this section of the land with schools, churches, a cemetery, until a fire demolished it. Hastily homes would be erected there post fire which many believe to have caused the hauntings.
