During this week’s episode, of Small Business Saturday Philadelphia, Mac sat down with Samantha Holbrook, President of Citizens for a No-Kill Philadelphia. CNKP is a nonprofit organization that was founded in 2009. The organization is made up of pet owners who are working to make Philadelphia a no-kill city, which means that no animal that is healthy and treatable is senselessly killed due to shelter overcrowding.

Eclectic Learning Network was created out of a not-so-friendly interaction with a local education institution. Maleka decided that she could do better, so she created ELN with her two daughters in mind, ages 11 and 13. Over the last four years, Eclectic Learning Network has offered more than 300 programs to the Philadelphia community with a focus on Black/Brown families.
