    In addition to her many years of record collecting and showcasing her extraordinary DJ talent on numerous national radio shows and legendary clubs around the UK and Europe since 1976, including her own London club night, 'These Old Shoes.' Jo was also Head Of Paper Archiving at Universal/Island/Motown Records UK for over six years, spearheading incredible projects like the “Island Records 50th Anniversary” collection, cataloguing Chris Blackwell’s decades-in-storage 45 collection, and putting together soundtracks for the Versace and Vivienne Westwood exhibitions at the V&A, among other extraordinary contributions to the world of recorded music.

    Jo is the founder and Label Boss of the indie UK label (and working DJ’s favourite) Ramrock Records, known for their super dope reggae, jazz, hip-hop, blues, funky breaks, swamp rock, electronica and everything in between featuring releases from Ashley Beedle, Joseph Malik, Kameelah Waheed, Errol Lamzi, Darren Morris, North Street Crew , and so much more – now in its 10th year!!!

    For Episode 19 of SOUNDTRACK SOUL, we are thrilled to feature another New York City All Star working DJ and broadcaster, live and direct from her home-base in Staten Island, DJ LUCY EUCLID.

    With an inventive and original take on the Soundtrack Soul series format, Lucy serves up “The Soundtrack of My Life," featuring a trip through her ‘60s and ‘70s Latin Soul and Boogaloo roots that inspired the native New Yorker to embrace the taste and rhythms she continues to share at venues all over the city and beyond. This incredible mix of classics and rarities includes tracks from Mongo Santamaria, Joe Cuba Sextet, Ray Barretto, the Fania Allstars, Charlie Palmieri, and much more fuego for you!

    While young DJs spun classics in disco, funk, salsa and house music, young DJ Lucy listened in a basement stairwell in Brooklyn and inspired her to become the fabulous musical selector and deck slayer she is today.     For SOUNDTRACK SOUL Episode 18, we are honored to have Brooklyn's finest, DJ MONK-ONE on board for a stunning set of '90s rap movie cuts.  From BDP to Wu-Tang, and everyone in between, Monk serves up over 35 tracks, masterfully mixed of course, and sure enough to bring you back and/or school you on the greatest sounds from classic Boyz In The Hood-era movie music. Featuring cuts from iconic films like Juice, Menace II Society, Friday, Crooklyn, Poetic Justice, The Nutty Professor, Ghost Dog, CB4, High School High and more, and featuring tracks by Eric B. & Rakim, Cypress Hill, Dr. Dre, House Of Pain, Slick Rick, the Pharcyde, Naughty By Nature, Mary J. Blige, Mobb Deep, Ice Cube, among other '90s hip-hop superstars.

    DJ Monk-One, aka Andrew Mason, co-founded Wax Poetics Magazine and remains its Contributing Editor. One of New York City's most respected veteran selectors, he is known for his musical diversity, on display via a long-time residency on WBAI-FM's Underground Railroad Radio Show and many of the city's finest, funkiest parties, including the monthly all-vinyl dance night "Shake!" with DJ Prestige at Brooklyn's Friends & Lovers. Monk has released numerous records through his Brooklyn-based label Names You Can Trust and, as one half of the renowned production squad Greenwood Rhythm Coalition, has done remix and original work for labels in the UK, South America, Japan and Europe. He has DJ'ed his way around the world, playing in diverse locales from Bogotá to Barbados, Barcelona to Budapest and beyond.
