Pastor Ben Sterciuc is a man of God who fled communism as a young man, came to America and has served as a pastor here in WA and also runs a ministry called Vital Solutions. One thing I love about the Lord is that He is so patient and long suffering with us. I loved sitting down with my long time friend Jessica Downs as she shared about their journey of infertility, IVF and motherhood. Every human has struggle and pain and most of the time the pain and struggle is hidden from most people's view and we think that everyone else's life is problem free!! That is why there is so much healing and truth when we let people into our vulnerable situations. Are you making COMFORT an idol in your life? What does that even look like? What does God say about that? As this new year is unfolding, lets point our hearts in the direction of pursuing God and His will above all else.

Jeremy Vallerand is the President and CEO of Atlas Free, an organization that works to free those who are exploited by sex trafficking.  My heart was so inspired and moved by Jeremy’s willingness to follow Jesus one step at a time into impactful kingdom work.  I’ve known Jeremy for many years and much of our growing up was shaped in the same community at Cedar Park Church and Christian Schools, though a few years apart 🙂 We talk about how God led Jeremy to this work and also how the church can be the solution by getting free from sexual immorality and addictions. I loved hearing Megan’s story because I see the faithfulness of God who never lets go of His children. Evil people try to tell us that raising a child as a single mom is impossible and worse but we know that God has told us all things are possible with Him and that if He is for us, who can be against us. I also saw the power of community through Megan’s story because in her darkest times, her church was a source of comfort to her and her family. Enjoy this episode and share it with someone else.

As Christians our desire is to follow Jesus and His word in every aspect of our lives. Of course, we all fall short on a regular basis but that should not keep us from continuing to work towards the perfection that Christ calls us to. Jesus says that what we do unto the least of these, we do unto me. Orphans and widows come to mind as well as all children, single parents, the abused and neglected and the alien. Christ calls us to love our neighbors as ourselves. It's a tall order and we can only accomplish this by the power of the Holy Spirit inside of us and by all of us being the person that God called and equipped us to be. 1 Corinthians 12 talks about this and teaches us that we are all parts of the body and need to work together to accomplish His purposes. To me, that is what this podcast represents. Different parts of the body of Christ working together in harmony to accomplish God’s mission on earth. It was so good to sit down with Jody and hear the wisdom that she has to share with the world. She has been walking with the Lord for over 30 years now and has learned so much along the way as she has walked through trials, tribulations, hurt and betrayal from her past.  Even through the darkest times, Jody knows that God was with her and that He is good.  She just wants everyone who hears her story to know that God is good and that He loves you very much.

It's been a year since the overturning of Roe V Wade and while we celebrate this victory, there is still so much work to be done.  As believers we want to pray effective prayers, right?  The bible tells us that Jesus intercedes for us to the Father.   I believe what God is calling us as believers to do in this season is to PRAY.  He wants us to pray for each other and especially those who are on the front lines of the battle for LIFE. This is a battle, christian. We are battling for the TRUTH about LIFE and about our IDENTITY as the bible tells us, to be heard and shared and lifted up in our state, our country and the world. I believe that just like God delivered the Israelites from slavery from the Egyptians by splitting the Red Sea in half so they could simply walk through, God is making a way for victory over abortion, over planned parenthood’s agenda and over the transgender ideology, that these strongholds will be torn down and that babies, children and families will be saved and delivered.  Amen!  So, as believers all across this state and country, would you begin to pray for leaders by name who are standing on the front lines for life?  God is the WAYMAKER!

Life can really knock us around and kick us off the path! But God! He is faithful and always right beside us to pick us up and minister to us and get us moving in the right direction again. This is definitely true in Michele’s life. You will see God’s goodness as she talks about her abortion, the death of their 2nd born child and adopting their daughter. Never lose hope. If you still have breath in your lungs, God is not done writing your story and his stories always have happy endings.

Damon takes us on the journey of his life and how God has been with him in every season of his life, even when he got laid off from Microsoft TWICE!  Sometimes the greatest blessings from God come in the disguise of something difficult. James 1:2-4 says Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.   Damon has allowed God to turn his pain into purpose by writing books (Pain Drives Change;  Apathy or Action) as well as starting ChangeYOUniversity.org which is all about building men into who God has called them to be.  “Rain came, wind blew, my house was built on you. I’m safe with you, I’m gonna make it through”. These lyrics from Cody Carnes' song have impacted so many and were a huge part of the work of healing that God did in Damon’s life. Time heals but at the same time we never want to forget the way God has rescued us and redeemed us from our sinful past.  Keesha shares about the mistakes she made as a college student and how God protected her from aborting her first child.  Life gets very real with a baby on the way when you are unmarried and a college athlete with hopes and dreams for your future, but we get to see the hand of God on Keesha, leading her to a life of wholeness even in the midst of her sin and struggle.  God is so good and has good for us.

Every human instinctively craves a loving family to grow up with and the security and freedom that family can bring to our hearts.  If you have a loving family, don’t take it for granted because many of the people around you don’t have that. In this episode of the 10.10 Podcast, Amir Tsarfati, President and Founder of Behold Israel, talks about growing up in Israel in the group homes that make up the foster care system.  You will hear that Foster Care means something quite different in Israel than America, however, there is also so much brokenness in our system here in America.  I’ve followed Amir online for many years, watching the live updates from Israel and hearing his biblical perspective on the end times and prophecy, but it was a different experience to sit across the table with him and hear how God has led his life with a clear purpose of his salvation, his evangelism and the mission to stand for life. You will be inspired and amazed at God’s mercy and goodness through the story of Amir.

In this episode, Sarah shares about dating, sexual purity and family. You will love hearing about her journey to Christ, marriage and being a mom. Sarah shares about her miscarriage and the hurt that comes from that as well as almost losing her second baby during birth.  Every life is worth celebrating, even life that passes away in the womb.  Thank you, Sarah, for being so vulnerable with your pain and your life so that others can find healing and hope too.

Pastor Emma and her husband Drew planted Hope Village Church in the Seattle area in 2020. Need I say more? haha.. But actually, there is more to their story. God protected Emma even in her mother’s womb when her mom tried to abort her after she was sexually assaulted.  The pro abortion argument always wants to claim rape as the reason abortion needs to stay legal and that is why Emma’s story is so powerful. You cannot deny that God created her for a purpose. It doesn't matter how a baby comes to be, all that matters is that it's a baby! Every life is precious to God and I am so glad that God protected Emma because she is my friend, a beautiful wife and mom and a Pastor to so many.

I met Tracey and her family in 2020 and you will hear all about that in her story.  Many people will go on and on about how terrible 2020 was and for sure there were difficult and hard parts of that season but there were also moments of glory that might never have happened if our world didn’t go through the shut down.  The bible says that in ALL THINGS, God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. So, even in the midst of sickness and loss and shut downs, God is working out his goodness and his purposes.  God calls us out of darkness and into HIS marvelous light. You will love this story of grace working in Tracey’s life.

Dive into the ups and downs of Debbie’s search for meaning and truth.  When we are young we can be so caught up in the fruitless vanities of life and can have such a skewed picture of the things that are important. It's almost like we stick our fingers in our ears and scream lalalalala and we put our hands over our eyes and run headlong into deception and false living trying to see if we can do this thing called life without the help of God.  

YET all the time God is reaching for us. When we come to the end of ourselves, God is right there with open arms.  Thank you Debbie for your transparency for the benefit of us all!

Joy is a contagiously optimistic woman and you are going to be drawn into her story and to her heart. When we are isolated from others It can be easy to think that we are not normal, that we are not okay but when we come into community we see right away that the struggles of humanity are common and we aren't as weird or different than we might think! What a delight to sit down with my good friend Reini Kawabori! Reini has gone through a lot of loss in her life and truly is a survivor. Reini’s story will have you laughing and crying all at the same time and you will see that God has given her the gift of seeing the JOY in even the darkest moments that a human can face. She reminded me that we all have a story or a testimony if you will and we can’t simply keep that to ourselves but instead we must steward our testimony by sharing it with others so that others can be free and that ultimately God can be glorified.
