Fri, 15 Dec 2023 - 58min - 57 - Yamaha Celebrates Outstanding 2023 Off-Road Racing Season with Multiple Championships
Thanks for the ears and listening to the podcast! We're excited for this one, for we're recognizing our race wins, championships, and philanthropic endeavors throughout the year, including our $4200 donation to breast cancer research at the Yamaha Racing Ironman GNCC. Here's a snippet of the contents and appreciate your time! Yamaha proudly marks the culmination of a remarkable 2023 off-road racing season, characterized by an outstanding collection of championship victories and significant philanthropic endeavors. With a string of notable championships, a generous donation for breast cancer research and care, and bike donations to schools through the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative program, Yamaha's successes this year reflects their dedication to making a positive impact at the local level. In various national series, Yamaha bLU cRU racers dominated podiums, demonstrating the Proven Off-Road prowess of their vehicles. The YFZ450R riders excelled with multiple podium sweeps and titles, while the Side-by-Sides continued to shine, claiming victories for the YXZ1000R Sport Shift (SS) and Wolverine RMAX 1000. The bLU cRU started the year strong after Kyle Anderson’s success at the grueling King of the Hammers (KOH), capturing the Pro Stock N/A UTV championship in his Weller Racing Yamaha Wolverine RMAX2 1000 Sport as the only UTV to complete two laps and finish in its class. Anderson's remarkable feat was celebrated with a $5,000 bLU cRU bonus for being the top-placing Yamaha SxS at KOH. Mid America Outdoors completed its seven-round series October 20-22 in Jay, Oklahoma, with Owen VanEperen capturing the Pro Stock N/A championship in his Powersports 1 / Beyond Redline / Yamalube / Hoosier / Yamaha YXZ1000R SS. Owen’s father, Rodney VanEperen finished third on the podium in the Championship Off-Road Tour’s Pro Turbo class with his YXZ. Seven rounds into the Great American Short Course Series, with two rounds remaining on November 4 and 5 at the SBC fairgrounds in Victorville, California, bLU cRU racer, Chad Williams, currently sits third overall in his YXZ1000R. Series bonuses include $5,000 for first, $1,500 for second, and $1,000 for third overall. In the AMA ATV Motocross (ATV MX) series, Yamaha racers swept the podium in the AMA Pro division. Defending Champion, Joel Hetrick won his fourth-overall ATV MX Championship on his Phoenix Racing / DASA / CST / Moose YFZ450R, with seven first-place finishes to earn the $15,000 bLU cRU bonus. Fellow bLU cRU racers, Bryce Ford of Ford Brothers Racing / Baldwin, and eight-time champion, Chad Wienen of Wienen Motorsports / Molaska / Fly Racing / Maxxis / Yamaha, rounded out the podium in second and third, respectively. In October, Hetrick, Ford, and Wienen came together to represent Team USA on a YFZ450R in the Quadcross of Nations in Cingoli, Italy, finishing first and second in all three motos to earn the U.S. their fifth-straight championship on the world stage. In the ATV MX Pro-Am class, YFZ-racer Mason Jackson captured the championship and $2,500 bLU cRU bonus. Additional Yamaha racers, Kevin Saar, Joseph Chambers, Blair Miller, and Jayden Londerville finished out the top five, earning the remaining bLU cRU Pro-Am bonuses. Another Yamaha podium sweep took place at the Yamaha Racing Ironman finale of the Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) series in Crawfordsville, Indiana. Defending XC1 Pro – ATV champ, Brycen Neal, who took his second-straight championship and $15,000 bLU cRU bonus on his Phoenix Racing / Moose YFZ450R earlier in the season, dominated the field to take the overall win, followed by Yamaha factory-supported racer, Walker Fowler, who made a comeback statement after missing most of the season due to injury. After being passed by Walker in the last few turns of the final round, Hunter Hart rounded out the podium in third on his YFZ450R, additionally finishing the series in second place, with a fellow bLU cRU racer, Cole Richardson, in third overall.

Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative Achieves Monumental $6 Million Milestone, Bolstering Diverse Riding Opportunities in Oregon Yamaha Continues to Empower Outdoor Recreation and Conservation Across the Nation MARIETTA, Ga. – August 29, 2023 – Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, announces the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative (OAI) has surpassed a remarkable $6 million in cumulative funding. A trailblazer in the powersports industry, Yamaha's OAI remains steadfast in its commitment to championing and safeguarding access to lands for both motorized and outdoor recreation. Since its inception in 2008, the program has fueled the realization of over 470 projects nationwide. Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s motorsports marketing manager, shared, "Fifteen years ago, when Yamaha conceived the Outdoor Access Initiative, we foresaw the positive impact it would have on our valued customers, dedicated dealership network, and the public landscapes we enjoy today. While much work remains, we take immense pride in our contribution of over $6 million thus far. This support underscores our commitment to foster safe, sustainable riding and recreation across public lands." The second quarter of 2023 witnessed the endorsement of three pivotal projects in Oregon through OAI. These initiatives provide enhanced riding experiences across the Oregon Sand Dunes National Recreation Area, the Tillamook State Forest, and the Prospect OHV riding area on the Rogue-Siskiyou National Forest. The range of projects, from erecting informative wayfinding signs to constructing vital bridges and staging areas, epitomizes the essence of OAI’s dedication to lasting improvements in Oregon's recreational opportunities. Amongst the pool of Q2 applications, 18 grants were awarded, totaling an impressive $311,355. Individuals passionate about leading projects to enhance and safeguard access to public lands for motorized and outdoor recreation are encouraged to apply for an OAI grant. Notably, this initiative has expanded to embrace Yamaha's Power Assist Bicycle group, further preserving access to public spaces for all forms of outdoor and motorized recreation. The application deadline for the third quarter funding cycle is September 30, 2023. Yamaha welcomes the participation of OHV and bicycling clubs, land stewardship groups, and related nonprofit outdoor recreation organizations. RECHARGING AND OFF-ROADING IN THE GREAT OUTDOORS WITH STEVE NESSL OF YAMAHA June 15, 2023 This week on The Revolution with Jim and Trav, the guys are off-roading with Yamaha's Steve Nessl. Listen in as he discusses his hunting plans for this fall as well as some incredible off-roading destinations that can be explored with the help of Yamaha machines! Looking forward to the fall hunting season, Steve says he is already making plans which will include Kansas. Last year Steve left Kansas disappointed and empty handed after a sly buck barely dodged his shot. However, this year he is looking for redemption and hoping the conditions are right for a nice Sunflower State archery buck to fall. Beyond Kansas, he notes he'll be hunting in Georgia and Texas for whitetails. Yamaha frequently finds fantastic outdoor locations to showcase their product line. Recently, the Yamaha team spent two weeks in western Colorado hosting media and Yamaha customers. Steve says the epic landscapes of this region make for an incredible experience for riders as they get to take in the snow capped mountains, massive canyons, rough terrain, high elevations and beautiful scenery. Experiencing it for himself, Steve notes that a trip like this is a great reset for himself and others. He says it's good to know that places like these still exist and that they can be enjoyed with the help of the Yamaha product line of side-by-sides and ATVs. Steve says everyone that participated really enjoyed the experience. Not only did they get to go to a cool place, but they were able to put Yamaha vehicles through the paces. Many didn't even realize that the machines were capable of doing the things that the Yamaha team showed them in this terrain. In the end, people were blown away by the landscape and also the vehicles. The great outdoors has a way of recharging and re-energizing people and Yamaha's machines can help facilitate that kind of fun and refreshing trip! In discussing the incredible destinations across the country that are available for people to explore on Yamaha machines, it's also important to think about access. The Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative is a long running initiative that not only makes access to great outdoor spaces available to riders, but it also helps to fund and take care of those spaces as well. Steve talks about this important initiative and highlights the importance of securing outdoor opportunities for generations to come.

REMOTE AND EPIC ADVENTURES IN THE OUTDOORS THIS SUMMER WITH YAMAHA
Where will your next adventure take you? Do you have a summer vacation planned yet?
Scott Newby is Yamaha's ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist and he joins The Revolution this week to discuss some of the great opportunities awaiting people as they look for outdoor adventure this summer.
Listen in as Scott talks about his most recent outdoor adventure at Gateway Canyons Resort in Colorado, a beautiful destination ripe with opportunity for off-road enthusiasts. While it can be hard to carve out the time in our busy lives, planning an outdoor getaway can help you reconnect with your family and recharge. Yamaha can help.
Yamaha's machines are, literally and figuratively, the vehicles by which people can explore and experience nature and the great outdoors like never before. You could visit the Grand Canyon and take in its beauty from a peripheral lookout point, or you could spend a couple of days actually exploring some of the most amazing scenery in the world! A Yamaha side-by-side or ATV makes it possible to go beyond the lookout points of the Grand Canyon and actually traverse the rugged terrain, see the rock formations, take in the cliffs, experience the desert, see the roaring river and more. Those kinds of up close outdoor experiences can be had all over the country in different wild places when you are riding on your Yamaha ATV or side-by-side. Destination Yamaha is a great jumping off point to help people find a place to pursue some off-road adventure. Filter through the destinations and experiences by region or by vehicle. Yamaha makes it easy to book trips with reputable businesses and you can even rent vehicles instead of trailering your own!
Scott says there are a lot of incredible places to experience from the seat of Yamaha vehicle, however for him it's more about the "who" rather than the "where". Getting outdoors is more fun when you get to share it with the people that matter to you, and he encourages people to bring along family and friends to share in the memories.
Having continued access to the outdoors to be able to experience wild places is important. In an effort to help conserve America's wild landscape and also advocate for access so people can enjoy those places, Yamaha created the Outdoor Access Initiative. Now in its 15th year and going strong, Yamaha's Outdoor Access Initiative seeks to create and defend access to land for outdoor recreation. Yamaha does that by funding projects across the country in conjunction with different organizations that have an interest in protecting, improving, expanding and/or maintaining access for safe, responsible and sustainable public use. Scott says Yamaha has funded more than 450 projects across the country, investing more than 5 million dollars into our nation's trails with the ultimate goal of providing access and outdoor opportunities to people for generations to come. It's a worthy cause and one that Yamaha continues to invest in.
Wed, 07 Jun 2023 - 09min - 34 - VIDEO - The Yamaha RMAX 1000 Adventure from Sand Hollow, UT, to Grand Canyon, AZ, and back!
Living up to our REALize Your Adventure maxim, a little over a month ago we had a very successful press ride highlighting the Proven Off-Road prowess of our RMAX 1000 lineup, driving from Sand Hollow, Utah, all the way out to Arizona for a picturesque view of the Grand Canyon’s North Rim. We then spent the night in canvas-covered wagons at the Bar 10 Ranch in Arizona and headed back to Utah the following morning.
With a total of nine Wolverine RMAX 1000s outfitted with Yamaha Genuine Accessories that were led and chased by our AdventuRMAX concept vehicles and folks from GBC Tires, we traversed almost 250 miles across nearly every terrain – from sand dunes and rock crawling to wide-open trails and tight woods – and experienced zero failures or issues throughout the entire event with the media.
Check out the amazing adventure and put this trip on your bucket list!

TACKLING EXTREME ADVENTURE AND ELEMENTS WITH DEPENDABLE AND RELIABLE YAMAHA MACHINES April 27, 2023
This week on The Revolution with Jim and Trav, the guys are ringing in spring with turkeys, bass fishing and off-roading. Joining them will be Scott Newby, Yamaha's ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist.
In a celebration of all things spring and the great outdoors, the 6th annual Yamaha Turkey Bass Smash commenced recently. An intense two day competition pitted two capable teams against each other in the quest to take the biggest turkeys and heaviest stringers of bass. In the end, Scott Newby and teammate Wade Middleton walked away victoriously. Scott recaps the challenge and his team's come-from-behind win. He also discusses how they were able to use a wide variety of the Yamaha product lineup to assist them in their efforts. From Yamaha ATVs and Side-by-Sides to outboards, their reliable machines were there for competitors every step of the way. Scott says the annual Yamaha Turkey Bass Smash is not only fun, but it provides an opportunity for people to see Yamaha's durable and reliable machines perform in the field.
Scott will also discuss some of the adventures the Yamaha lineup of products has been on this year, including an ice fishing trip up north. Scott and the Yamaha team headed to Minnesota to get in on some ice fishing action in February. While there, they put the Yamaha RMAX2 1000 and RMAX4 1000, as well as the Yamaha Grizzly to the test against the cold. Fully outfitted with cab enclosures and heater kits, among other accessories, Scott talks about how these machines handled the brutal temperatures that dipped down to 31 below zero. Even with the extreme cold and wind, Yamaha's proven machines were able to keep the anglers warm and provide a great place to escape the elements. Scott discusses the benefit of having a machine on your side that has the reliability and dependability that Yamaha is known for, especially in such inhospitable conditions. Furthermore, he highlights how a wide variety of available accessories can make it possible to still enjoy the great outdoors, even if the conditions are less than ideal.

After trading overall wins throughout 2022 with each other, Phoenix Racing’s YFZ rider, Joel Hetrick, capped off the season with the $15,000 bLU cRU bonus and his third ATV MX championship.
The GNCC series showcased multiple battles this year, several of which came down to the final round. Fri, 18 Nov 2022 - 17min - 23 - Yamaha Interview on The Revolution with Jim and Trav - 11/11/22

FALL HUNTING AND EXPLORING EPIC OUTDOOR DESTINATIONS WITH STEVE NESSL OF YAMAHA MOTOR CORPORATION
This week on The Revolution with Jim and Trav, the guys are joined by Steve Nessl, Marketing Manager at Yamaha Motor Corporation to talk hunting, destination off-roading adventures, funding projects that create and defend access to land for outdoor recreation and much more.
Listen in as Steve discusses his first hunting trip of the season, a late October archery hunt in Kansas for whitetails. He talks about the challenges that the weather created for this hunt and the lack of pre-rut activity. Plus, he also reveals his disappointment with the shot he took on a nice buck that ultimately proved to be non-fatal.
Then, Steve highlights Destination Yamaha, a fantastic program that allows Yamaha to work with their partners across the country to provide adventure rental vehicles so people can explore new and exciting locations. That kind of adventurous experience is one that, when people can carve out a little time from their busy schedules, is worthwhile. You don't have to own an ATV or side-by-side to be able to explore Anchorage, Alaska or Moab, Utah. You can rent those vehicles when you get there! Even if you do already own an ATV or side-by-side, this Destination Yamaha program makes it possible for you to try out different models or have access to vehicles if you don't want to trailer your unit across the country. There are epic destinations all across the country, from coast to coast, and everywhere in between. This kind of program puts outdoor recreation within the reach of more people!
Finally, Steve talks about the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative, a program designed to help create and defend access to land for outdoor recreation. The Outdoor Access Initiative has been able to contribute more than $5 million dollars in the form of grants to help support more than 400 projects across the country since its inception. Funded out of the sale of Yamaha vehicles, Steve says a small portion of each sale is directed to this initiative. Using a grant application process, Yamaha awards that money quarterly to nonprofit or tax-exempt organizations including OHV riding clubs and associations, national, state and local public land use agencies, outdoor enthusiast associations and land conservation groups with an interest in protecting, improving, expanding and/or maintaining access for safe, responsible and sustainable public use. The Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative is a program that does a lot of good, Steve says, but not a lot of people know about it. In the interest of creating and maintaining spaces to recreate for generations to come, Steve says Yamaha will continue to commit money to this initiative. He encourages people to check out the program and apply for grants to fund projects they are working on that support land access.

FALL WHITETAIL HUNTING AND OFF-ROADING WITH SCOTT NEWBY OF YAMAHA
Fall hunting seasons are hitting full stride and Scott Newby, Yamaha's ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist, already has one tag filled. Starting the season out early this year, Scott hit Kentucky on opening weekend and after an intense hunt, walked away with an incredible buck still in the velvet.
Although he has hunted Kentucky in years past, he notes that nothing has ever come together quite like it did this season with multiple members of the hunting party tagging out on opening night. In Scott's case, an evening sit in a treestand overlooking a bean field put him right in the center of big buck activity. Just a couple of hours into his first sit, the buck he was looking for showed up right under his stand. After sitting at full draw, waiting for another buck to move, Scott finally released his arrow and watched the buck as it disappeared into the bean field. No hunt is over until you recover your animal though, and because of shot placement, Scott determined it was best to let the deer sit for several hours before attempting recovery. During that time, a thunderstorm moved in and had Scott nervous about losing the blood trail and potentially not being able to find his buck. However, a morning search yielded the buck he arrowed, not far from where he last saw it go down. Scott explains the sheer amount of relief and excitement he felt when he finally put hands on his buck and also notes that although it can be difficult to wait, giving an animal the right amount of time to expire is crucial to recovery. With Kentucky under his belt, Scott talks about his upcoming hunts, including an archery whitetail tag that he is hoping to fill in Kansas.
Plus, Scott highlights the recent Yamaha XT-Reme Terrain Challenge (XT-R Challenge) that was held at the iconic Loretta Lynn Off-Road Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. The Yamaha XT-R Challenge is a multi-day event, now four years running, where Yamaha friends and family get the opportunity to get out and run a specialty course that is full of obstacles. Scott says ATV and Side-by-Side riders got to challenge themselves with log crossings, mud holes and more on a 22-mile course during the fun-filled weekend. The event also featured free demo rides, concerts, giveaways and much more. This annual event is certainly one that Yamaha owners and spectators should think about attending next year and Scott highlights how you can be a part of it!

More great news on the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative front!
Yamaha Rehabilitates Popular OHV Area in San Bernardino National Forest
Employees Volunteer Time for Conservation Alongside Southern California Mountains Foundation
MARIETTA, Ga. – October 17, 2022 – Yamaha Motor Corp., USA, continues to demonstrate its leadership in the Powersports industry, advocating access to public land for motorized recreation through the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative (OAI) and hands-on volunteer efforts by Yamaha employees. Most recently, Yamaha corporate team members joined the Southern California Mountains Foundation (SCMF) to help rehabilitate a frequently utilized OHV area of the San Bernardino National Forest.
“Over the past couple of years, the San Bernardino National Forest, like so many other public recreation areas, has seen increased activity – a welcomed surprise as we encourage more people to enjoy the outdoors, but also a real challenge in keeping up with rehab projects,” said Linda Stamer, Restoration Partnership Director for SCMF. “Thanks to the generous support of Yamaha’s employee volunteers, we were able to make significant progress in our Pinnacles Staging Area restoration. With Yamaha’s help, we packed in at least three weeks’ worth of work into a single day.”
A group of Yamaha employees, along with family and friends, recently planted more than 300 native species plants around the Pinnacles OHV Staging Area to restore its boundaries and encourage responsible on-trail riding. Pinnacles is Yamaha’s adopted staging area, where volunteers have completed several projects over the years. During this effort, symbolizing the diversity of users, popularity of the area, and need for continued support, several riding groups, hunters, and other outdoor enthusiasts passed through Pinnacles, witnessing and recognizing the immediate impact and benefits of the Yamaha employees’ continuing work.
“What started as a small assembly of Yamaha volunteers in Southern California nearly 15 years ago has grown into an annual tradition where our employees compliment the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative’s financial support by contributing directly to hands-on conservation work and improvements on the ground,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s Motorsports group marketing manager. “It’s fulfilling to see the progress at Pinnacles over time, but also important to acknowledge the continued need for funding and restoration of public land, as more people flock to national forests to recreate.”
Yamaha has a longstanding relationship with SCMF; in addition to nearly 15 years of volunteer projects together, Yamaha OAI has granted over $100,000 in funding to help sustain the organization’s OHV program, trail volunteer efforts, trail mapping, and improvement projects at Big Pine Flats OHV staging area.
The Yamaha OAI program encourages riding clubs, land stewardship associations, and public land managers to work together with Yamaha dealers to identify projects and apply for support. Yamaha OAI is a one-stop resource for outdoor organizations seeking support for their next project. Visit YamahaOAI.com for application details, or examples of some typical projects the program supports for inspiration.

Mon, 17 Oct 2022 - 06min - 19 - Yamaha Pledges $500K, Urges All to Get Outdoors on September 24. Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative Celebrates National Public Lands Day and National Hunting and Fishing Day.
Hello Yamaha podcast listeners! It's been a while and I apologize for that, but I'm trying to do some new things and continue to bring you all value. So, if you have any suggestions and/or feedback, please let me know! Today, I want to bring you all up to speed on some news we've announced regarding our OAI program. Please listen in, enjoy, and see you on the adventure! Below is a snippet of today's podcast... *** Yamaha is encouraging people to get outside and enjoy the outdoors on Saturday, September 24, 2022, in honor of National Public Lands Day and National Hunting and Fishing Day (NHF Day). In recognition of these events, the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative (OAI) is renewing its annual pledge to commit $500,000 to organizations supporting access to land for outdoor recreation and encouraging applications for grants before the next quarterly deadline on September 30. National Public Lands Day invites volunteers nationwide to help restore and preserve public lands – from national parks to local urban green spaces – directly aligning with Yamaha OAI’s goal of protecting public lands for outdoor recreation. To date, the Yamaha OAI program has contributed over $5 million in funding and equipment across more than 425 projects in the last 14 years to assist outdoor recreationists working to protect and improve access to public land and educate everyone on safe, sustainable recreational use. Yamaha OAI has proven to be the industry’s most reliable partner and a significant resource for those who depend on access to public land for work and play. Additionally, on September 24, National Hunting and Fishing Day is celebrating its 50th anniversary. NHF Day events are organized each year by Wonders of Wildlife to spread awareness of the conservation and economic benefits, as well as traditions and values of hunting and fishing. Yamaha OAI is a founding partner of Wonders of Wildlife’s Live It! program and a supporter of its efforts to expand NHF Day events across the country. These events play a significant role in expanding awareness of the issues facing public access and outdoor recreation, and the Live It! program supports local conservation groups wanting to host or enhance NHF Day events, but are limited in their resources. “Last year we made a commitment to grant half a million dollars to outdoor projects, and we’re proud to say we exceeded that goal,” said Steve Nessl, Yamaha’s Motorsports marketing manager. “Our lives are rooted in the outdoors and Yamaha’s direct and significant financial support of Wonders of Wildlife, Recreate Responsibly, and so many other outdoor organizations help make recreation on public lands possible. In celebration of National Hunting and Fishing Day and National Public Lands Day, we’re excited to renew our annual commitment to make a minimum of $500,000 available in 2022 to organizations who help create opportunities for outdoor recreation.” The Yamaha OAI program encourages riding clubs, land stewardship associations, and public land managers to work together with Yamaha dealers to identify projects and apply for support. Yamaha OAI is a one-stop resource for outdoor organizations seeking support for their next project. Visit YamahaOAI.com for application details, or examples of some typical projects the program supports for inspiration. The application deadline for consideration in the third quarter of the 2022 funding cycle is September 30, 2022. EXPLORING NEW OFF-ROAD OUTDOOR DESTINATIONS WITH SCOTT NEWBY OF YAMAHA
The spring warm up is upon us and that means there is plenty of hunting, fishing, riding and outdoor recreating to be enjoyed. Scott Newby is the ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist for Yamaha Motor Corporation and he joins The Revolution this week to talk turkeys, bass and trail riding.
Scott will provide a recap of the recent Yamaha Turkey Bass Smash where his quest for a third title with partner Wade Middleton was upended by team Wendlandt and Palaniuk. Both challenging conditions hunting and fishing due to an extended period of drought in Texas and fierce competitors set the stage for a tough event. Even though they came up short this year, Scott says he was thrilled to get a turkey and highlights the exciting hunt for his bird.
Warming weather has people anxious to get back outside and start recreating again and that means, for many, a kick-off to the riding season. Whether you're on an ATV or Side-by-Side, there are plenty of destinations across the country to explore. If you're planning a trip, Scott says it pays to think ahead so you stay in compliance with all rules/regulations/permit requirements. There is no one size fits all rule so Scott encourages riders to do a little research ahead of time and purchase the permits they need to avoid any unnecessary problems. He says Yamaha dealers are often a great source of information for riders who want recommendations on good riding spots in the area and what kind of permits are required locally.
If you don't have a Yamaha ATV or Side-by-Side or you just don't want to have to trailer yours across the country, there are still plenty of opportunities to explore incredible locations with Destination Yamaha. The large network of Destination Yamaha Partners all over the country cater to riders looking for new and fun locations to experience, and they provide Yamaha ATV and Side-by-Side rentals to do so. Some of these incredible Destination Yamaha locations include: Moab, Denali Park, Pagosa Springs, Bigfork, Huntington Beach and so many more. Having access to places and rentals like those in the Destination Yamaha network makes it possible for people to take their adventure further and experience places they may not have been able to otherwise.
Be sure to listen in and then visit YamahaOutdoors.com to see a complete lineup of Yamaha ATVs and Side-by-Sides. Also check out Destination Yamaha and start planning an adventure!

The event is a two-day tournament in Texas with one day focusing on turkey hunting in the brush country and the final day held on the water of Lake Amistad. The tournament is judged on a point system that totals up the scores of turkey weights, beards, and spur lengths as well as any bonus and penalty points earned along the way. The fishing portion is scored on a five fish limit with points for total weight, biggest fish and more. At the end of the two-day event, points are added together and a winner is named. BIG KENTUCKY BUCKS AND NEW 2022 YAMAHA RMAX SIDE-BY-SIDES WITH YAMAHA’S STEVE NESSL
Kentucky has established itself as a big buck powerhouse state worthy of the same kind of attention that the whitetail rich midwest states get. What makes it so great? The state has solid genetics and ranks seventh in the number of all-time Boone & Crockett entries, beating both Kansas and Ohio. The habitat there - a mixture of ag land, river bottoms and woods - is ideal for growing big bucks. As a no draw state, Kentucky makes tags easily accessible with over-the-counter purchases - no draw systems to deal with. The state also keeps hunting affordable with reasonable license and tag fees.
Plus, Kentucky kicks off their season early giving hunters a longer season and the opportunity to get a whitetail in the velvet during early September. Steve Nessl is the Marketing Manager at Yamaha Motor Corporation and he knows first hand how great the state of Kentucky can be for whitetail hunters. He joins The Revolution this week to talk about his successful early season Kentucky whitetail hunt where he anchored a massive buck, still in the velvet, with 13 scorable points and lots of character.
He also highlights the role Yamaha RMAX side-by-sides played in getting him to and from his stand and getting his once in a lifetime buck out of the field. Yamaha recently released their new 2022 Wolverine RMAX 1000 Sport, a high-performing, extremely capable Wolverine RMAX2 1000 Sport, based off the best-in-class RMAX 1000 platform. Steve highlights some of the great features on this new unit like beadlock wheels, adjustable FOX 2.0 shocks, the new sport inspired color and graphics and more. The new blue color is a bridge that connects Yamaha's racing heritage, sporty appeal and performance with the versatility and function of the RMAX, he notes. This 2022 Wolverine RMAX 1000 Sport is fun to drive in a sporty way and makes users want to put that D-Mode into "Sport" and have a good time. There is a lot of on the fly adjustability available at the fingertips of drivers with the RMAX 1000 Sport. These features make it possible to dial in the kind of ride you are wanting to achieve based on the terrain you're traversing in the moment.
Listen in as Steve relives his successful early season Kentucky whitetail and highlights some of the great features of the new Yamaha 2022 Wolverine RMAX2 1000 Sport.

TACKLING THE RUBICON TRAIL WITH YAMAHA’S RMAX
More people than ever are returning to, or discovering for the first time, the great outdoors. There are a lot of great ways to get out and enjoy the outdoors - hunting, fishing, hiking, biking, camping, off-roading and more. In all of those pursuits, having an ATV or side-by-side can increase one's enjoyment and with Yamaha vehicles it can help people realize their adventures. Steve Nessl is the Marketing Manager at Yamaha Motor Corp and he joins The Revolution this week to talk about major manufacturing milestones, the capability of Yamaha's RMAX line, Yamaha's Outdoor Access Initiative, the fall hunting season and more.
Kicking things off, Steve says the Yamaha production facility in Newnan, Georgia hit a major milestone recently when they manufactured their 4 millionth vehicle. It's a huge achievement, Steve says, especially in a time where Yamaha can't even make them fast enough. With the influx of outdoor participation, the demand for Yamaha vehicles is high and Steve says their team is working hard to get them into customers hands as quickly as possible while still checking all the boxes of Yamaha's quality, durability and reliability standards.
Switching gears and looking at some of the standout vehicles in Yamaha's Side-by-Side lineup, Steve talks about their RMAX vehicles. The Rubicon Trail in California's Sierra Nevada Mountains is known among off-roaders as an epic and challenging destination, and one that is mostly frequented by Jeep drivers. It is 20-plus miles of rough terrain and very few people can say they've actually conquered the trail. From a powersports manufacturer perspective, Steve says the Rubicon Trail has always been on Yamaha's bucket list of places to take their vehicles. Recently, Yamaha took a team of media and a fleet of RMAX vehicles to the Rubicon Trail to show off the RMAX's chops and see if they could conquer it. In the end, Steve says they accomplished their goal, conquered the trail and were able to showcase how well the RMAX performs, under even the toughest conditions.
Finally, Steve talks about his outdoor itinerary for this fall. With just a couple of weeks until opening day in Kentucky, he says he recently went and did a little scouting to prepare for that hunt. Steve says he'll be in a tree with his bow hoping to connect with a big Kentucky whitetail, possibly one still in the velvet. After Kentucky, he says he'll be working out some time to spend on a lease in Alabama with his boys and hopefully find some time to fill a few other tags.
Listen in as Steve Nessl, Marketing Manager at Yamaha Motor Corp, joins The Revolution this week with a close-up look at the Yamaha's RMAX and more.

The new shocks include 24 clicks of high- and low-speed compression adjustment, dual springs, and a crossover coupling for adjustable pre-load, offering a sportier handling feel with increased high-speed bottoming resistance. The RMAX2 1000 Sport retains its best-in-class 13.8-inches of ground clearance, 14.2-inches of front, and 16.9-inches of rear suspension travel for ultimate capability in nearly any terrain.
In addition to new sport-inspired color, graphics, and seat cover design, the RMAX2 1000 Sport dons a “square” tire setup (same size front and rear) with new 30-inch GBC Terra Master 10-ply rated radial tires for versatile riding options and rugged durability. Featuring a unique asymmetrical design with each side different than the other, the Terra Masters offer contrasting ride and handling characteristics, depending on the setup. “Side A,” the stock setup, offers a larger void ratio with horizonal lugs for soft to intermediate terrain, increasing forward acceleration and enhanced braking. “Side B” offers a smaller void ratio with circumferential grooves for improved grip in the corners and a greater contact patch on intermediate to hard off-road surfaces.

HUNTING SEASON UPGRADE: ADDING A YAMAHA SIDE-BY-SIDE TO YOUR ESSENTIAL GEAR
Fall is nearly here and hunters everywhere are gearing up for their favorite pursuits. Whether you are a waterfowl hunter, upland game fanatic, big game addict or predator pro - you're going to have to cover some ground this season in order to fill those tags and bag limits. Having the right tools in your arsenal increases your chances of success and having a Yamaha Side-by-Side (SxS) as your dedicated hunting rig is a great way to make your season easier and more enjoyable. Wade Middleton is a dyed in the wool outdoorsman, host of Yamaha Whitetail Diaries and a Yamaha enthusiast. He joins the show this week to highlight how having a Yamaha SxS is advantageous for hunters.
Yamaha has a large line-up of SxS vehicles in the sport, recreation and utility categories. For hunters, Yamaha's "recreation" and "utility" SxSs hit all the right marks in versatility and performance. Wade hunts a lot, travels a lot and uses a variety of different Yamaha vehicles in his outdoor pursuits and, as a result, he is well in tune with the benefits of each. In general, Wade says he likes the access that SxSs provide. Whether he's on his home ranch, or hunting in another state, Side-by-Sides provide a low impact way to get into the backcountry and navigate tight spaces, challenging terrain, rough trails, brushy/thick country and more. These backroad locales aren't somewhere you really want to take your truck to begin with and Wade says he finds Yamaha's SxSs to be far more comfortable when traveling than traversing it with your daily driver vehicle. In addition, Yamaha's SxSs travel well making it easy and practical to take them along on all your adventures. Noting that he hauls his side-by-sides all over the country, Wade says all he needs is a small trailer and he can get them to his destination, roll them off and be running almost immediately.
Across the line-up, Wade says there are a lot of great features that make Yamaha's SxSs great hunting companions. To begin with, each SxS is well equipped to carry your cargo. Several models have spacious beds that can haul all your gear and your animals, too. Wade notes that four-seat models can be modified by sliding the rear seats forward and gaining extra cargo room when you aren't carrying passengers in the back. Passenger room is another great feature of the SxSs. When you can haul several people around it adds a social aspect to your hunt as you go to and from the stand, Wade says. Yamaha has 2, 4 and even 6 passenger options to choose from so you have plenty of room and don't have to leave anyone behind. Yamaha's machines are also incredibly quiet and well-appointed for comfort. These machines have come a long way over the years, Wade says and they make it easy, effortless and fun to cover ground. They'll get you to and from your stand, help you scout your hunting property, pack your game out, and take you anywhere you need to go.

The new 2021 Wolverine X2 and Wolverine X4 deliver superior handling, especially on tight, technical trails, combined with Yamaha’s legendary Real World Tough durability and reliability. Smooth, ultra-quiet power comes from an 847cc twin-cylinder engine, combined with Yamaha’s Real World Tech including Ultramatic transmission, On-Command 4WD, and EPS, packed in a compact, nimble chassis.
New for 2021 and based on the all-new RMAX 1000 models, the Wolverine X2 and X4 feature a sleek, new look and layout. The newly designed doors and frame enhance entry and exit for both the driver and front passenger, while more compact shoulder bolsters and new adjustable seatbelts improve cabin comfort. The driver’s seat also features repositioned pedals and greater seat adjustability to accommodate taller drivers.
For 2021, all Wolverine X2 and X4 models are now equipped with 27-inch GBC Dirt Commander radial tires featuring a terrain-dominating eight-ply rated construction. Larger tires deliver increased ground clearance, better traction in more terrains, and added durability. XT-R editions are further enhanced with a WARN VRX 4500 winch, high-quality graphics, painted Covert Green bodywork, and KYB piggyback shocks with fully-adjustable spring preload, rebound, and high- and low-speed compression damping. The Wolverine X4 XT-R retains the advanced self-leveling rear shocks to provide a plush ride, as well as help maintain optimized ground clearance based on the terrain and cargo.
Both Wolverine X2 and X4 models are versatile and work-ready with a 600-pound-rated bed, donning an automotive-style one-hand-operated tailgate and 2,000-pound towing capacity. Like the RMAX 1000 models, the two-seat Wolverine X2 is equipped with a hydraulic dump bed, while the X4 can seat up to four with industry-exclusive, simple-to-stow full-size rear seats, allowing for expanded cargo capacity when needed.
The 2021 Wolverine X2 R-Spec and Wolverine X4 is available in Armor Gray and Realtree Edge in the X2, with Covert Green XT-R Editions of each.

EXTREME TRAIL RIDING ADVENTURES AND FUNDING AMERICA'S TRAIL SYSTEMS WITH YAMAHA’S SCOTT NEWBY
May 6, 2021
Spring is here and there couldn't be a better time to do some off-roading in your ATV or Side-by-Side. Scott Newby is Yamaha's ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist and he joins The Revolution this week to talk rock crawling in the Yamaha RMAX 1000, funding efforts to maintain and sustain the nation's trail systems, and the opportunities that can be found and sights that can be seen when you get off the highway and get onto the trails.
There are tons of cool destinations across the country that can be explored by ATV or Side-by-Side. Scott says he recently wrapped up a 3-day ride on Arizona's Peace Trail that winds through old mining towns, ghost towns and explores the remote Sonoran Desert landscapes of western Arizona. The Arizona Peace Trail is diverse with rock landscapes, sand, canyons, mountains, plenty of cactuses and lots of wildlife. Scott says it's amazing what many of these off-road trails have to offer and the experiences that are available to everyone if they choose to get out there and explore them. America's trail system comes with varying terrain and in many places offers the opportunity for riders to navigate through rocky or otherwise rough landscapes. Rock crawling isn't just for beefed up Jeeps anymore. Side-by-Sides like the Yamaha RMAX 1000 are very capable right off the showroom floor without any upgrades. Scott says the RMAX 1000 is nimble, capable and has features built into it standard like the D-Mode Switch that can be dialed into crawl mode for a smooth, linear engine response while traversing rocky sections. Other features like fully welded skid plates on the bottom, class leading ground clearance, highly capable suspension and more make the RMAX 1000 a capable extreme adventure machine.
In the last year, people across the country have really reconnected with the outdoors via hunting, fishing, hiking and more. The motorsports industry has also been an avenue for people to explore the outdoors in a new way and as result, the ATV and Side-by-Side markets have been seeing tremendous growth. With more and more people out on the trails, it's important to think about the condition and sustainability of those trails, Scott says. For more than 10 years, Yamaha has raised money and used their "Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative" to give back to the country's trail systems with advanced trail development, restoration and maintenance projects and more. During that time, the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative has completed 380 projects across the nation and put $4.5 million dollars back into the nation's trails.

THE GROWTH AND INNOVATION OF THE RECREATIONAL VEHICLE MARKET WITH YAMAHA’S SCOTT NEWBY
ATV's and Side-by-Sides aren't just strictly for utility or sport purposes anymore, they have to blend to cater to a wide variety of users. The field of users is growing exponentially and manufacturers like Yamaha have had to identify the new purposes for these vehicles, the wants and needs of the drivers and then blend all of those factors together into a design that meets the demand of all users. Scott Newby is Yamaha's ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist and he joins The Revolution this week to talk about the soaring popularity of ATV and Side-by-Side ownership, the innovation that comes with that kind of booming interest in the recreational market and how safety and sustainability remain top focuses as more riders come into the fold.
The Side-by-Side market, in particular, is booming with 400,000+ units sold each year in North America. This upward trend in Side-by-Side ownership also fuels innovation in the segment leading to more sophisticated vehicles each year. Scott says this is the reason you see more and more features packed into Yamaha vehicles. People want their Side-by-Side to feel more like an automotive vehicle, he says, so Yamaha has built in features like soft-touch points, tilt steering, adjustable seats, interior lighting, charging ports, technology and more to meet those demands.
With more and more new users flooding the ATV and Side-by-Side world each year, Scott highlights the importance of education and safety. As demand grows, as the number of users increases, it's also important to make sure that these drivers know what they are doing and how to be safe. Scott highlights the proper safety gear one should be outfitted with, plus he also discusses some options for online or in person safety classes users can attend to get familiar with rules. Scott says an increase in riders recreating on trails also underscores the importance of the Yamaha Outdoor Access Initiative. This grant program aims to further sustainable access to land and trail systems, provides support for efforts that promote safe, responsible use of ATVs and Side-by-Sides, educates the public on proper recreational land use and wildlife conservation practices and much more. Scott says it's all about keeping the outdoors open, keeping public access to our lands open for people to enjoy and to do so safely. In ten years, Yamaha has infused $4 million back into the nation's lands and that is something that all drivers benefit from.
Listen in as Scott Newby, Yamaha's ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist, joins The Revolution this week to talk about the growing number of ATV and Side-by-Side users. Plus, he'll also highlight some great event opportunities for riders to get out and ride courses like the Yamaha XT-R (Extreme Terrain Challenge) that will be held in October at Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Tennessee. All current Yamaha owners can bring their vehicles out and challenge themselves on these fun courses, Scott says, and it will be a great time.

HUNTING BIGFOOT AND BLAZING TRAILS WITH THE NEW 2021 YAMAHA KODIAK 700
It's nearly spring, do you have any ATV or Side-by-Side adventures planned for 2021? It's time to fill in the ruts that 2020 left in its wake, time to get back outdoors, time to take on new challenges and time to get off-road. What better way to do that than with the 2021 Yamaha Kodiak 700. Scott Newby is the ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist at Yamaha and he joins The Revolution this week with a brief feature by feature look at the new 2021 Yamaha Kodiak 700.
#1 Compact Design: The Yamaha Kodiak 700 sits in the center of Yamaha's utility ATV lineup between the Kodiak 450 and the Yamaha Grizzly. The Kodiak 700 provides big bore performance, but pairs it with a compact body design. That compact design allows the 700 to be more nimble and handle tight, technical trails with ease. The smaller size also improves the overall feel and handling of the machine while boosting rider confidence. Some people would call that "ergonomics", however, in plain and simple terms it just means that everything feels right and fits right.
#2 Cargo & Tow Capacity: While the Kodiak 700 is great for trail riding, it can also work. A heavy-duty steel cargo rack on the front can haul up to 110-pounds and the rear rack offers 198 pounds of carrying capacity. In total, the Kodiak 700 can handle 308 pounds on its steel cargo racks. Plus, a 2-inch receiver comes standard with the machine allowing users to tow more than 1,300 pounds.
#3 High-Performance Ultramatic Transmission: This class-leading transmission is a favorite among ATV operators because it combines immediate response with advanced features like natural, all-wheel engine braking. It's the most durable ATV transmission on the market, Scott says, while sharing a little bit about why the Ultramatic® Transmission is so great. The Ultramatic Transmission provides a constant belt tension, he says, so you don't have to worry about a belt that slips all the time. Kodiak 700 users also have the benefit of a secondary clutch so when backing off of the throttle, the secondary clutch will engage. If you're on the trail or riding around somewhere, anytime you have the engine braking it will be smooth and controllable.
#4 On-Command 4WD: The Kodiak 700's power, capability and handling don't disappoint and that's evident with the Exclusive On-Command 4WD. This function allows a user to switch between 2WD, limited-slip 4WD and a fully locked differential 4WD with just the press of a single button.
#5 The Yamaha Guarantee: Yamaha owners know that their vehicles have undergone serious real world testing in order to make them the best machines they can be. The Kodiak 700 is no different in that it's "Built Real World Tough", assembled in the USA to meet durability and reliability standards and boasts a 10-Year-Belt-Warranty. Those kinds of guarantees and warranties should give owners peace of mind knowing that their machine and its drivetrain is built for many years of trouble free use.
Be sure to tune in to The Revolution this week as Scott Newby,Yamaha ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist joins The Revolution with a look at the new 2021 Yamaha Kodiak 700.

IT’S AN ULTIMATE TERRAIN TACKLER, AN OFF-ROAD SPECIALIST, IT’S THE YAMAHA WOLVERINE RMAX 1000 WITH SCOTT NEWBY
It's an ultimate terrain tackler, a highly sought after side-by-side, an off-road specialist, it's the new Yamaha Wolverine RMAX 1000. Scott Newby, Yamaha ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist, joins The Revolution this week with an extensive look at this new beast of a machine that is powerful, capable and backed up with a unprecedented 10-year-belt warranty.
The new Yamaha RMAX 1000 comes in three different trims and two different seat configurations, but all of them have the same new modern and aggressive styling that gives the machine a rugged and tough personality. Scott says the great thing about the new RMAX 1000 is that the aggressive complexion of the vehicle is met with a matching level of performance and capability. It has a new category standout 1000cc motor that delivers class leading power while still maintaining Yamaha's commitment to durability. The Wolverine RMAX 1000 also offers an incredible heavy-duty, easily adjustable FOX 2.0 QS3 suspension with class-leading ground clearance. Matching the aggressive posture are 30-inch Maxxis® Carnivore® tires that provide great traction and tread in a variety of different terrains. Plus, the new Yamaha Drive-Mode (D-Mode) power-delivery system offers three custom drive modes for tackling any terrain or extreme terrain situations: Crawl Mode, Sport Mode and Trail Mode. Each drive mode controls how power is delivered in different terrains and conditions to provide the best ride and performance possible. A heavy-duty factory installed WARN® winch is also standard in the XT-R and LE trims. Scott notes that the team of engineers at Yamaha have thought through and refined everything on the new Wolverine RMAX 1000, even the doors that are designed to be the right height for safety, while also maintaining a good level of visibility.
[...]
Inside the cabin, Yamaha worked to refine the interior and make it more spacious and comfortable. Scott says by working on the doors and how they open and close it's now easier to get in and out of the vehicle. In addition, automotive style soft touch points were integrated into the cabin to make commonly touched surfaces, like those near the knees and elbows, more comfortable. The interior also got a lighting upgrade with an interior light package to make navigating controls easier in low light conditions. When it comes to technology, Yamaha's smart off-road sidekick, the Adventure Pro, has now found an integrated home directly in the dash of Wolverine RMAX 1000. The Adventure Pro mounts in a removable and lockable housing and offers a lot of different features.
[...]
It's not enough to be able to design, engineer and build a great machine, it's also crucial that a company stands by their work. Scott says Yamaha takes pride in their products and backs everything up with a 10-year-belt warranty. This serves as a promise to customers that they make Proven Off-Road vehicles that customers can buy with confidence knowing they have superior durability and reliability.
Be sure to listen in as Scott Newby, Yamaha ATV & Side-by-Side Senior Communications Specialist, talks about the all-new Wolverine RMAX 1000. He'll also talk briefly about the extensive line of generators that Yamaha offers, a power product that can be essential in the cold months and beyond.
