Pastor Jerry Flowers kicked off the KingNUMB series with a message titled, “He Set it Straight”. We delved into the story of the woman with an infirmity for 18 years in Luke 13:10-17. Like the woman, the enemy wants us to keep looking down on our troubles and dirt so that we become numb to the power of the Gospel. Today, Pastor Mike taught us how to serve in the kingdom of God. We learned that oftentimes we want to do what feels good, but we don’t serve our feelings. We place our feelings sub to the mission of God. How do you know you’re serving the King? It’s typically the opposite of what you want to do. Jesus even had opportunities to power trip but he had a power flip and walked in righteousness instead. It's week 2 of our series KingDUMB! This week we learned the value of seeking the Kingdom and through a demonstration of ‘Hide and Seek’, we found out that it is NOT the same as looking. If you want the kingdom, God isn’t just going to give it to you, you have to search for it. The kingdom doesn’t come by proximity but by pursuit.
