This Week on the Show. She's the Finnish National Record Holder in the 100m hurdles. An olympian in the recent olympic games, she's a former sports journalist which she might come back to once she retires from the sport. She graduated summa cum laude in 2011 and she doubled back and got her master's at st mary's university in London in 2013. A woman of many talents and skills, my guest this week is Annimari Korte joins me on the show.
Annimari 's story has a lot of twists and turns in it from an early age. At the age of 14, she was battling a few different injuries. usually when you get hurt and have some nicks and nacks the pain goes away after a while but for animate the pain didn't get better, it kinda got worse. In 2008 she wasn't even able to train for the sport she'd been doing since she was young. She couldn't even walk up the stairs because she couldn't lift her legs because of the back pain. nor could she stand and or sit for more than 5 minutes without excruciating pain. by the end of the year she had seen many different doctors and they all sort of told her the same thing. "maybe you should do something else." in December of that same year she found a doctor who wanted to try something new and different and that doctor was able to help her get back t training and running again.
Things were seemingly going to get better, but then more things started to happen. Annimari was forced to retire from the sport of track and field in 2012 before making her comeback in 2017. There's a lot that took place in between and we get into that in the episode, but in 2020 she won the Finlands athlete of the year in athletics and comeback athlete of the year.
In this episode we get into:
-What drew her to the sport
-The internal feeling of hurdling
- Battling with undiagnosed injuries from an early age then kept her from sitting for too long and standing for too long
- Frustration with the pain, doctors and not being able to find answers
- How she lives with Eosinophilic Esophagitis and Tietze Syndrome
-Why she was forced to retire in 2012, and what made her come back in 2017
-Why she didn't quit
- Breaking the national record & making the olympic teamAnd so much much more.

Mon, 25 Apr 2022 - 16min - 100 - In Life You Will Be Tested With Kerri Ann Mitchell
This week on the show I'm joined by a good friend of mine. She's an Olympian, a graduate from the University of Oklahoma, and the founder of ACSS which is short for Administrative care support services where she provides administrative support for businesses, law firmers and other corporate administrate fields. She's a woman of faith and an all-around good-spirited individual. I've known Kerri Ann since 2012, she's always been genuine, hard-working and highly focused on being the best that she can be. Kerri Ann's journey hasn't been an easy one, she faced her fair share of hardships as a young adolescent with family and external challenges. It was those same experiences that reminded her of the things she didn't want to do or become, since then she's been very intentional about her approach in life. She excelled in track and field, most people know her as a sprinter but she started as a jumper and then could sprint. right after high school, she went to the University of Arkansas before she transferred to Oklahoma and finished there. After her college career, she essentially retired from the track in 2005 and decided to come back in 2009 and started back training. And that's the interesting part because she made the Olympic team in 2012 with basically a year and a half of training and getting back into form. 2012 at the Olympic trials which were in Calgary Alberta, she finished 3rd in the 100m and made the Canadian Olympic team. In this episode we touch on: • Her Upbringing & some of the challenges she faced • Getting started in track and field • transition from high school to university • How she faced her insecurities • Why she retired from Track & came back 4 years later • Olympic Experience • How a car accident left her in a very dark space • How her faith was tested & later helped her stay balanced and so much more. Kerri ann's story is inspiring and I know you'll enjoy it and get something from it. Thu, 15 Apr 2021 - 11min - 56 - Purpose Lead Series Part 1: How Do You Find Your Purpose?
For the next four weeks, I'll be talking about purpose. I say the word purpose often because I believe we were all created for a purpose, and once we uncover it, we can begin to do impactful work. When I talk about purpose I'm talking about meaning- the core reasoning to why you do what you do. When I say the core reasoning I'm talking about what's in your heart. Not something based on materials but a transformational shift to add value and bring light to everything around you. In part one of the series, I break down how to find your purpose. I believe you can get insight on certain questions if you know where to look, and sometimes you have to look backwards and connect the dots before moving forward. What is your purpose? I'm not smart enough to answer that for you, but I can give you some insight on how I found mine. In doing so, my hope is that it'll help you find yours.
