The very best in class technology for a building or facility is tech that's explicitly planned for and integrated with foresight. Video has become a preeminent content delivery method everywhere from social media, to video search engine, to shopping. "We're in a space where the amount of data we're using for video transmissions on Amazon, Facebook or Twitter feed is expected to be over 80 percent of our Wi-Fi traffic by the year 2022," said Dan Helfrick, Z-Band vice president.

Video distribution needs and how workplaces communicate within and outside of an organization have undoubtedly changed since the COVID-19 outbreak. “Globally, IP video traffic will be approximately 82% of all traffic for both consumer and business in the year 2020,” said Joe Finkenbinder, Southeast Territory Manager for Z-Band Technologies. It’s safe to say, digital video and livestreaming are here to stay.

There are many reasons why companies need and want to stream a TV signal over their corporate network. Robert Mautino, CTO of Z-Band Technologies spoke about some of the advantages of IPTV for communicating on a large network platform. From an advertising company that needs to monitor multiple television channels to a corporate setting where communicating messages in various areas is critical, IPTV can solve myriad needs.

When we slated this episode, we planned to discuss Z-Band's appearance at the ASHE PDC Summit in San Antonio in March. However, when COVID-19 made its way to the United States, the annual ASHE hospital design and construction trade show was just one of many conferences canceled to help stem the spread. Today, we discuss these canceled conferences, Z-Band's efforts to support its healthcare industry customers and what it's doing internally to handle such an unprecedented pandemic.
