In a world that can feel divisive and bleak, it's easy to get caught up in feelings of hopelessness, but the beautiful, glorious, truth is this: LOVE NEVER FAILS. In the 40 years I’ve been on the airwaves, I’ve implored my listeners to LOVE SOMEONE; Family, friends, neighbors, community, the Lord, and themselves. I’m talking to guests with names you may know, and those you may not. They all have stories meant to inspire you! New episodes drop the 2nd & 4th Tuesday of each month!
- 180 - ANDREW RIDGELEY: WHAM! Last Christmas 40th Anniversary
It's not Christmas without "Last Christmas", released by English pop duo WHAM! 40 long years ago. I'm in disbelief that I've been spinning that tune for as long as I have.
George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley - as WHAM! - set out to conquer the music world in 1982. They were still teenagers! And it was in 1986 they performed together as WHAM! for the last time after successfully completing their mission. Hit after hit - "Wake Me Up Before You Go Go", "Freedom," "I’m Your Man", and of course, "Last Christmas", made their time in the spotlight white-hot. The lifelong friends became one of the most globally successful pop acts of the 1980s, selling more than thirty million records worldwide!
Join Andrew Ridgeley and me as we talk of the old days, of his friend, George Michael, of the Netflix's feature documentary, "WHAM!", the BBC1 production, "WHAM!: Last Christmas Unwrapped",and so much more. We've saved it for someone special!

Tue, 22 Mar 2022 - 117 - MITCH ALBOM: "The Stranger in the Lifeboat"
Impactful author, Mitch Albom, comes alongside today with some powerful messages of hope and healing. His last two books, "Finding Chika",and, "The Stranger In The Lifeboat", are inexorably tied, the first about the grief of losing his daughter, and the second, about healing. The drifting lifeboat a metaphor for desperation, of crying out to God for help, (and demanding the cry be answered with the swiftness and accuracy of a fast food order).
Mitch and his wife, Janine, have dedicated their lives to caring for the forgotten children of Haiti, where they met Chika. He had only one request today, that I introduce my listeners to Have Faith Haiti Mission (www.havefaithhaiti.org) on the chance that your hearts too may be touched. ~ Delilah

Tue, 14 Sep 2021 - 103 - FRANK SILLER
Twenty years ago, on September 11, 2001, our world changed forever. Stephen Siller, a young firefighter from Staten Island was one of thousands of lives lost while trying to save others from the collapsing twin towers. Afterward, his family, lead by brother, Frank Siller, started the Tunnel to Towers Foundation with the mission to pay off the mortgages of fallen first responders, easing the financial burden of loved ones left behind. Since that time, they've expanded their scope to encompass families of all first responders who don't make it home, and are building some of the most advanced "smart" homes for mortally wounded military personnel. It's their way of honoring their brother's life and by taking the advice of St. Francis, "Brothers and sisters, while you have time, do good." Tue, 13 Jul 2021 - 99 - P!NK: "All I Know So Far"
The BEST conversations I have with my guests are those that happen on-the-fly. Unscripted, with little planning, and straight from the heart. Like today's podcast with P!NK! It was so unexpected.
She pulled over, with kids Willow and Jameson in the back seat, to spend a little minute with us. We chatted about her new single - and the fantastic documentary created from filming her 2019 world tour - "All I Know So Far." Turns out she knows quite a lot! Like how to be true to yourself, how to give yourself grace, and how to pour yourself into your passions. You won't want to miss this sweet episode! ~ Delilah

Tue, 08 Jun 2021 - 97 - AMY GRANT
Thirty years after the release of her mega chart-topping album, Amy Grant's heart is still very much in motion! The beloved singer-songwriter sits down with me today for a looong lovely chat. We cover a good many topics, all of which boil down to one thing - saying "Yes" to the possibilities. Saying "yes" to the things that come your way, even if they're out of your comfort zone, or you don't feel quite prepared. Amy says her heart is still opening to new possibilities and she is loving the people and experiences the practice of saying "yes" is bringing into her life. I can't wait for you to hear this one! ~ Delilah

Mercy me, do I have a fabulous podcast to share with you! We're doing a deep dive into the medical ministry of Mercy Ships, a 40-year old organization that sends floating hospitals into some of the poorest communities on earth. From humble beginnings, Mercy Ships has been able to complete over 100,000 life-changing surgeries and is dedicated to performing hundreds of thousands more, for people who otherwise would not have access to medical care. What's even more amazing, is that the organization is powered by prayer, donations, and volunteer efforts. Today I'm joined by Kerry Peterson, VP of Advancement at Mercy Ships, and 3 incredible volunteers, Rayanne, Marta, and Nate, who will share their experiences with us. We'll close with information as to how YOU might become involved, either by volunteering your time and skills, by donating, or by your prayers and blessings. Join us! ~ Delilah

Tue, 23 Mar 2021 - 91 - LEE ISAAC CHUNG
Fresh from winning a Golden Globe for his semi-autobiographical film, MINARI, Lee Isaac Chung is my very special guest on LOVE SOMEONE today. A soft-spoken and deeply insightful man, Isaac tells me how the story honors his grandmother, who he felt was largely invisible figure during the very formative years of his youth. Minari, a common plant grown abundantly in their native Korea, symbolizes the restorative influence his grandmother had on his family... But I don't want to get ahead of myself or give too much away about this beautiful, and brilliantly cast film.
Listen in, and then, when given the opportunity, watch Golden Globe winning, Minari! ~ Delilah

Tue, 09 Mar 2021 - 90 - LEE BRICE
Country music is part romance, part mystery, and part yearning for a simpler time. Lee Brice brings that all to the table - and to our podcast today - with "Hey World" his 5th studio album. This larger than life country artist is kindness itself, and that theme runs through all his music, old and new. I was especially touched by the singles, "Sons & Daughters" which speaks to the single truth that for all our differences, every one of us "is somebody's son, somebody's daughter" as well as "Lies" uncovering the sad reality that "the cruelest lies of all the lies we tell are the one's we tell ourselves..." Of course there's upbeat, fun, and funky tracks too, like "One Of Them Girls", "Atta Boy" and "Don't Need No Reason." "Hey World" is a much needed anthem to help us navigate the crazy on our way back to some much needed stability. Pull on yer boots and join us! ~ Delilah

Tue, 09 Feb 2021 - 89 - KATRINA MCGHEE
February is dedicated to matters of the heart, and my guest today, Katrina McGhee, from the American Heart Association is here to encourage us to make sure that we care for our hearts! Shockingly, heart disease is the leading cause of death for women, and too many people are unaware of this. Awareness, education, and even small changes in our eating and lifestyle habits can change this story. Katrina will tell us how it's done. She'll also encourage us to WEAR RED on February 5, to help bring awareness to women's heart health, and to strike up a conversation with those in your circle about the importance of self-care. Additionally, Katrina founded the "Loving On Me Academy" which is your go-to place if you're looking to put yourself in the driver's seat of your life and your health. She'll tell us all about in today's conversation. I'll keep doling out advice on keeping your emotional heart healthy, and Katrina will continue telling you how to keep your physical heart beating long and strong. Join us! ~ Delilah

Tue, 22 Dec 2020 - 87 - JOSH GROBAN
Josh and I go waaaaaaay back, before he was a global superstar (but very well on his way!) His recordings have become nearly synonymous with the Delilah Christmas program; that smooth, soulful, touch-your-heart sound. It's been a while since we touched base though, so I'm so tickled to have him join me on the podcast today.
Mr. Groban has a beautiful new album that dropped last week, 'Harmony' - it includes some covers, some collaborations, and some brand new pieces that weren't originally intended for the project, but came from the time Josh had in his studio during the spring's lock-down. (The incredible music that has come from this terrible situation reminds us that life is full of silver linings!)
We get to hear all about the album and all about what's going on with the one and only Josh Groban - including musings on how learning to cook and making music have several similarities! Join us! ~ Delilah

Please excuse my excited squealing! Dolly's been beloved by my grandparents, parents, myself and siblings, as well as my children and grandchildren. She's defied circumstances, stereotypes, gender bias... and age! She is so well known, and so well loved, this guest really needs no introduction.
Ms. Dolly Parton is my guest today, here to talk about life, how she's kept busy during COVID, how she handles stress and negativity (hint, she doesn't - she prays and gives it to GOD) and how her mission in life is to spread joy, and love, and music! We'll talk about her new holiday album, "A Holly Dolly Christmas", all the guests collaborations, and so so so much more! Come on in! ~ Delilah

Tue, 08 Sep 2020 - 81 - KEVIN FINCH
What's the first thing you think when you get lousy service at a restaurant or at a hotel? Most of us are not happy, we're paying for service and expect to be treated like royalty! Today's guest on LOVE SOMEONE, Kevin Finch, of BIG TABLE is serving up some food for thought and reminding us that a healthy dose of compassion feeds the soul.
A once upon a time, pastor-by-day and food critic-by-night, Kevin, who spent a lot of time ministering to people, sensed a very great great need in the service industry - if you combine food service and hotel workers, this sector far exceeds any other organized work force in America. It's made up of some of the most vulnerable, at-risk people in our society. Low pay, long hours, crazy shifts, covered by at-risk teens, single parents, immigrant populations, and those who have served time... Barely living paycheck-to-paycheck with no guaranteed hours or benefits. It's a population plagued by addictions and circumstances beyond the comprehension of most of us who go out to dinner or on a vacation.
Kevin is working to fix this, flipping the script in a completely novel way. He's setting up his BIG TABLE (it's real and seats 48!) in communities like his home town of Spokane, Seattle and San Diego - and hoping to be in 10 cities across the country in 10 years. He serves those who serve us at his pop-up underground restaurant - and in daily conversations over cups of coffee. Whether it's much need transportation, supplies for a new baby, or educational assistance, you never know what might be dished up by BIG TABLE. Join us for one of the most fascinating stories I've heard in a loooong time! ~ Delilah

Tue, 25 Aug 2020 - 80 - JON BON JOVI
The novel coronavirus pandemic brought confusion and frustration to the world. The question, "What do we do now" echoed around the globe. Jon Bon Jovi answered that question, in action, word, and song. "When you can't do what you do, do what you can." was the caption to an instagram shot of him washing dishes at JB's Soul Kitchen, a community restaurant where "all are welcome, and locally-sourced ingredients, dignity, and respect are always on the menu." Those words became the chorus to another Bon Jovi anthem, one that is sorely needed right now, providing purpose and passion at a time of great need.
Jon joins me today to talk about the single, "Do What You Can", and his upcoming album, "Bon Jovi 2020" set for an October release. The band decided not to just postpone their world tour, but to cancel it altogether and refund ticket purchases, because, as he said, "People need money in their pockets right now." Listen in, Jon is as warm and wonderful as ever, and has some important advice to all Americans. ~ Delilah
