Thu, 14 Nov 2024 - 1h 02min - 371 - Robot 13: Colossus! [Arc Analysis #88]
Whatta debut for this 3 issue book "Colossus!" doesn't sum up the adventure this little water-cooler-globe-head-warrior takes on when unsuspecting fishermen catch him on there boat. He is ROBOT 13, with little to know understanding of where is he from, who he is and where he is going, it doesn't take long for him to see purpose. FIGHT, ROBOT, FIGHT! Writer Thomas Hall and art Daniel Bradford paint a mythological world, as an unlikely hero birthed from the ocean depths engages in a life-or-death battle with a terrifying Kraken. And thats just the opening pages. With just subtle hints to his background, another life lived and maybe a bigger epic picture, it's fair to say readers are left wanting more of this fun and flowing ride. --Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add a submission for a future Arc Analysis-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (and we promise it won't be sailboat deck pics)--

Thu, 24 Oct 2024 - 1h 37min - 368 - True Love Confessions #1 [Arc Analysis #87]
Welp, what can one say about 1950's comics. They're outta date, they're filled with propaganda, they lack diverse voice or faces, they don't age well, a lot of "men" are pulling the strings(story, art, concept, names). This is especially true for 1954's True Love Confession #1, but gawd damn are they hilarious to live read. This is the first time (probably not the last) Coke and Dank called an audible mid-review and acted out all the voices in this comic, and the results are way funnier than actually reading the panels to yourself. Fri, 18 Oct 2024 - 22min - 367 - Quantum & Woody Vol 2: In Security [Arc Analysis #86]
Its been a while since we read up on our favourite half brothers Eric and Woody, as they learned the reason their father wanted them to stay together (think power gauntlets). What was supposed to be the perfect pairing of Offence and Defence, humour and sternness, is the yin and yang that brings you, Quantum & Woody. Vol. 2 returns us to the pair as they deal with the fallout from their previous adventure with their new 3rd roommate, Vincent Van goat, who should drive and where they'll end up by books end. The only issue is will we get deeper with these characters who have only scratched the surface of what they can do? Or will we get trapped in a formula that will repeat the same methods of joke, joke, boom, joke? --Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add a submission for a future Arc Analysis-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (and we promise it won't be quantum deck pics)--

Across the Pages (AxP) is our series where we take two similar-ish characters/teams/properties from different creators or publishers and give their various forms of media a well-deserved spotlight. Both of these characters uphold the law in a satirical and exaggerated world, both in their own ways. One is a cyborg who was forced into his situation and trying to reconnect with his humanity, the other is a clone who is so successful at cutting ties with his humanity, he IS the law moreso than simply upholding it.In this episode, we cover: RoboCop: Roulette (1993)Judge Dredd: Block Mania (1981)Judge Dredd (1995)RoboCop (1987) --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't cyborg deck pics)-- #numeatz #sawftcheeze

Thu, 22 Aug 2024 - 2h 00min - 359 - Assholes [Arc Analysis #83]
it is not often a book can keep us turning the page, whilst making every panel revealed a spit-take of audible laughter and enjoyment. We cant hide our excitement for this book! Not only does this book seemingly reinvent ways to tell multiple stories, but gawd-damn is it funny. A book so intent on showing the juvenile side of two protagonists, as they seeming choose to out-due each others decent into debauchery, foulness and ridiculousness fuelled alcoholism. This is @ssholes. A book filled with vanity of the rich, profanity, classism, ageism, sexism, chauvinism, macho-madness, competitiveness, depravity, insecurity and boyish irreverence. This book has a lot going for it on the surface, its clean paneling and illustrations punctuate the humour, its plotting of story progresses through a game of golf and 18 chapters, its written well and almost too familiar, and its hilarious - almost immediately. What we find just barely under the surface, is that these two boys, are not men, are not heroes, and in this case these two @ssholes are actively trying to avoid any redemption, as we learn more about how these schmucks treat themselves, each other and anyone within earshot. Fri, 16 Aug 2024 - 22min - 358 - Something is Killing the Children Vol 3: A Game of Nowhere [Arc Analysis #82]
It's been less than the last block of Arc Analysis between volumes of Something is Killing the Children (63episodes, AA#77), but we had to see how this story played out! Shoutouts to BOOM Studios! writer:James Tynion IV and artist: Werther Dell’Edera. Again the mood and temperature of this book are great, it iss both creepy, eerie, and exciting to enter this universe where something has killed almost all of the children and were still playing catch up to see why. Continuing immediately after the events of the first and second arc, this volume aims to wrap-up all the loose ends in the small town of Archer's Peak, as we follow Erica's last attempts to escape from the worst weekend ever? Can she do it? is everything resolved? Will the town accept the fate given to them? Whats the bus schedule? this and many more questions asked, but were not sure if answered! Thu, 25 Jul 2024 - 21min - 357 - Ice Cream Man Vol 1 [Arc Analysis #81]
What can be said about an anthological, horror influenced, possible what-if, purgatory placed, mind-melt of a book.. well a lot (and thats just Volume 1). But that doesn't begin to scratch the surface of this Image produced comic. W. Maxwell Prince written and art by Martín Morazzo. They take us on a ride that even after reading it, I still cant fully describe it. So forgive me if I can't comprehend all that is Ice Cream Man Vol 1. Each story is self-contained with their own protagonists, and own hard and torturous lessons to learn. The only connection comes with what would be an eerie musical theme coming from a colourful and inviting ice-cream truck. The driver that would be the "Ice Cream Man-the weaver of stories" What we can't figure out, is if this is a friend. a foe. a god. a demon. a clown or the man who, with a snap of his fingers changes the course of the direction to all he encounters. I say this with no exaggeration, Coke N Dank literally talked themselves into circles trying to figure out what to make of this book, and if they liked it. So the question is, will our confusion lead to you turning the page? Coke AND Dank return to the forest that holds all the critters and creatures that survived "the sky wolf who ate the sun". We sink our teeth deeper into this gem of a book! Yes, it's Scurry by Mac Smith. Who pens the story and draws all the blades of grass, splinters of wood and rushing of raging waters in this great and desperate adventures. Our protagonist Wix, attempts to find his ride or dies: Pict - lost to the forest herself and Umf - home as the colony decides serious decisions, that will impact all of their lives. What happens, Superman, when the public begins to believe that you aren't enough? Fucking dope, right? --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't dick pics)--

Mon, 11 Mar 2019 - 01min - 312 - #87.2 - X-Men '97 [Epi 8-10]
Well, here we are. At the finale of the 10 episode X-Men TAS revival, and obviously it was a homerun, right? Obviously it's the best animated show out right now, right? Obviously it lived up to our expectations and did our versions of the X-Men justice, right? RIGHT? Not exactly. In some ways, sure. But in other ways, this was a massive disappointment and boy oh boy, do we have complaints AS WELL AS praise... Kinda. Thu, 16 May 2024 - 1h 49min - 309 - #87.1 - X-Men '97 [Epi 5-7]
The next 3 episodes have come and gone; we even gave you all an extra few days to marinate in them.... Before getting the objectively best opinions right here on this very show. Tune out the rest of the noise and just stick with us as we navigate the middle 3 episodes that bring us our first look at Genosha, a space opera and a trip to New Mexico, as the sentinels come full circle. And there's a whole lot of melodrama and memorable moments - and nitpicks - to go along with!To me, my New Meatz and Sawft Cheezes. --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't Morph dick pics)--
Tue, 30 Apr 2024 - 1h 58min - 308 - Fire & Ice [Bottle Cap Review]
In 1983, Ralph Baksi's Fire and Ice dropped and it tells the story of an evil queen and her son, set on conquering the entire world shortly after the ice age.Against them, stands one man (and help, so clearly not 'just' one man) from a destroyed village who takes it back to the evil frozen empire in this rotoscope styled film. A little over 40 years later, how does this bad boy stand up to the test of time - and was Teegra's body all natural?? Those are the big questions here.
Thu, 18 Apr 2024 - 24min - 307 - #87.0 - X-Men '97 [Epi 1-4]
Okay so..We were going to wait to do an episode on the entire series, but let's be real here: we love talking about X-Men (if the last 4 or 5 episodes weren't evidence enough of that). In the spirit of being the mutant FREAKS we are, here are the first 4 episodes of the new X-Men 97 series (that due to technical issues, is a week late #sorrynotsorry). We talk about the character arcs thus far, dive into each individual episode and what we like - and don't like - about the early goings of the series. PREVIOUSLY, ON X-MEN...We had to. You know that we had to. Anyways, X-Men 97 premiered yesterday, but instead of covering the first two episodes of that series, we decided to revisit its origins: X-Men The Animated Series from the 90s. What we didn't do is cover every single episode of all 5 seasons, but instead, we picked 17 episodes (a few from each season), to talk about and discuss. Are they our favourite episodes and arcs? Not necessarily, but they are all very memorable ones, and cover a lot of the popular points of interest the series had. Please keep in mind that we have already covered the following arcs in older episodes: The Phoenix Saga The Dark Phoenix Saga Beyond Good and Evil In this episode, we will be covering: Night of the Sentinels (S01E01-E02) Deadly Reunions (S01E04) Til Death Do Us Part (S02E01-02) Red Dawn (S02E04) Repo Man (S02E05) Obsession (S03E09) Savage Land, Strange Heart (S03E12-13) Sanctuary (S04E03-04) One Man’s Worth (S04E09-10) Weapon X, Lies & Video Tapes (S04E16) The Fifth Horseman (S05E05) Graduation Day (S05E10) --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't screaming Xavier dick pics)--

No, seriously. Ask yourself: "If you die in the woods, does anybody care?"This playfully dark book by Steve Steiner kinda explores this. Deep in the woods of Big Hole Park, people are going missing and it's up to the pair of rangers (and a lost infomercial host) to figure out who or what is murdering these hikers.. be it man OR beast. Thu, 24 Aug 2023 - 28min - 272 - Deadly Class Vol 2: Kids of the Black Hole [Arc Analysis #63]
The very first Arc Analysis episode we did (wayyy back in 2019) was for Volume 1 of a wonderful book called Deadly Class. In some ways, it helped us kick off this podcast... In other ways, I just made that up for dramatic effect!Anyways, this is the continued misadventures of a high school for assassins, and it's very 80's in the most fun ways. How are Marcus and Maria getting on after the stuff with Chico? How does Says work into the mix? Is Chester (aka Fuckface) getting closer to his goal? What's Willie and Billy up to now that the school is in full swing, and what new characters are joining the mix?We got you covered, soft cheeses and new meats - listen in --Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add a submission for a future Arc Analysis-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't creepy D pics)--
Thu, 17 Aug 2023 - 26min - 271 - My Little Pony: Spirit of the Forest [Arc Analysis #62]
Our first foray into the MLP universe, and even though we weren't sure what to expect, we know all about the faithful following the line has. Bronies ain't nothing to play with, and after this episode, maybe we're going to join the team...Nah, we aren't but this book definitely has it's merits and this episode of Arc Analysis is worth a good listen. --Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add a submission for a future Arc Analysis-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't creepy D pics)--
Thu, 10 Aug 2023 - 16min - 270 - #80 - Enter the Skrulls (Secret Invasion) -The 37th Chamber
"It bombed atomically/ Furious philosophies and hypotheses/ Flee with the lottery/possibly they knotted me/ Battle-scarred gravatron/ Explosion when Super-Skrull with Captain Marvel's powers hits tremendous/ Ultraviolet shines when Fury leaves fckin Earth ... Again!" Phase 5 is here with this anticipated project. It is definitely full of things to talk about. But Coke and Dank pull no punches talking about this 6 episode MCU series. Oh what could of been with a secret invasion.. Nicholas Furious may finally too old for this sh!t . We still think Samuel L Jackson is good in The Hitman's Bodyguard (technically this movie has Nick Fury, Deadpool, Ajak, Old Loki, Elektra & Commissioner Gordon in it)--Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add more thoughts and ideas for future Full Episodes-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't green alien dick pics)--
Thu, 03 Aug 2023 - 1h 27min - 269 - Where Wolf [Arc Analysis #61]
When somebody hits you up with their own graphic novel based on a werewolf hunt through a furry convention, you gotta do what you gotta do.. And that means covering it for Arc Analysis! So yes, it is our first official write-in to be on the show, and we're taking full advantage. Especially when the premise sounds as hilariously fun as this one. So buckle up and press play, we've got a lot of messy, furry human remains to dig through --Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add a submission for a future Arc Analysis-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't creepy D pics)--

(i guess the child labour laws will look the other way when its family) We talk the ups and downs and beautiful blacks and whites attached to this one of kind and most original Axe Cop Vol. 1! --Hit us up at comicpatrolpod@gmail.com if you want to add a submission for a future Arc Analysis-- --Follow the Weapons on Twitter @Comic_Patrol for some extra tidbits of fun (we maybe promise it isn't axe'd flute cop pic)--
