The Atlanta-based deejay keeps his stamp-littered passport and bags ready for wherever his next tour takes him across the U.S. or around the world. Since his early days on the 1s and 2s, he’s spun in over 30 countries, visiting nearly every continent. With his signature braids and Cali swag, Era has flexed on the turntables at iconic arenas, stadiums, concerts, clubs and world-renowned music festivals. He’s known to make guest appearances on TV and is no stranger to the airwaves, firing up iHeart’s WRDG 105.3 The Beat in Atlanta, GA, and formerly Sirius XM Shade 45 as a mix DJ. He’s toured with a roster of artists including King of Crunk legend Lil Jon, British songstress-songwriter Marsha Ambrosius, R&B crooner Maxwell, August Alsina, Usher, Chris Brown, 2 Chainz, Pusha T, Teyana Taylor, Ty Dolla $ign, and has shared the stage with the late Nipsey Hussle, Lil Uzi Vert, Da Baby, Monica, Lloyd, Eric Bellinger, Rotimi, J. Holiday, Sammie, and more. Era’s career success has landed him on the pages of Forbes, The Source, and Rolling Out. A member of the DJ crew Young California, Era, an L.A. native with roots now in the ATL, considers himself the glue that brings together the cultures of the South and the West Coast – two music capitals. He does so through the introduction of new music, connecting artists, following fashion trends and keeping current with urban lifestyles. Born Kevin Cox, Era’s early music passion and influences include Michael Jackson, 2Pac, Biggie Smalls and the Dr. Dre/Snoop Dogg Death Row era. He credits Lil’ Jon and the dirty south “crunk” movement as the reason he moved to the ATL. He attended Morehouse College in the Peach State where he first learned to deejay, using his freshman year financial aid to buy his first set of turntables. And yet he still managed to graduate cum laude with a B.A. in business administration. Despite a few early doubters, Era set his sights on a career in music as a tour deejay. Shortly after graduating, he got his first big break touring with rapper Yung Joc entertaining U.S. service men and women at military installations in Europe. And he’s never looked back.
